High School Ring Lost for 16 Years, Found!

I had a guy to contact me several months ago about a high school class ring he had lost in 2005.  He had since moved out of state up to Pennsylvania.  This weekend being Mother’s day he was in town visiting family and had obtained permission from the current homeowners to do a search in the yard.  So this has been several months in the making.  He thought it was white gold, but wasn’t certain.  I wasn’t sure what kind of signal I would get on my CTX, and I knew it would be several inches deep, so I was doomed to dig just about everything.  I started up towards the house and worked my way down to the street, drawing my grid lines.  I had been there about three hours and had dug a bag full of trash and modern coins.  It’s slow going when you have to dig nearly everything.  We had only about five feet of yard left before we got to the street when I got a signal that at first looked like trash.  The CTX didn’t give me a VDI number, (I think there was trash very nearby), but I did have a consistent tone and a small tight target identification picture on the screen.  Since it was consistent I dug it and out popped a ring that had been in the ground for 16 years.  It was 3-4 inches deep, a little deeper than I thought it might be.  Another happy ring owner!

Lost Gold Wedding Band Recovered In Pasadena, Maryland!

It’s been a while since I’ve been contacted by someone in distress after losing something precious to them. That changed on Friday, May 7th when I received a call from Tim. He was out digging a trench to run electric to his shed when he realized his wedding band was missing. Here is how things went down in Tim’s own words.

« It was a Friday evening when I realized I lost my wedding band while digging a trench in my backyard earlier in the day.  My first thought was to rush out and buy a metal detector.  I did some quick research and realized  I had no experience. I would be lucky to find anything. After doing some more internet searches, I found Ring Finders.  At 9 o’clock at night I sent a text to Jim Wagner.  Little did I know he was close by.  He answered me right away and committed to showing up at my house at 7:30 the next morning.  He told me that if the ring was outside, he would find it.  True to his word, Jim was at my house at 7:30 with a smile and full of understanding. He started at one end of the trench and worked toward the other end while I nervously watched. He found my ring within 15 minutes.  Jim is a talented individual and it was a pleasure meeting him. I can’t thank him enough. »

Gold wedding band lost, recovered and returned in Philadelphia, PA!

Sebastian found me in the Ring Finders online directory. After a quick phone conversation it was conveyed to me that while playing basketball on the driveway of his Philadelphia home he realized his white gold wedding band had slipped off. He was pretty sure it came off while he was making a long shot from the middle of his grassy backyard. I was there at his property within 4 hours of his original contact. I had an opportunity to meet his son, Quinn, and baby daughter…cute kids!  As I always do I took a minute to demonstrate my equipment so he could gain confidence that if there…I’ll find!

After adjusting the settings of my Equinox 800 detector several times and already covering the area once I was finally able to find the signal I was looking for…I could see the white gold ring just under the surface of grass. It was ringing up a little high for gold leading me to believe it might be palladium instead. Regardless, Sebastian was pleased and relieved to see his ring once again. He and his kids happily posed for a celebratory moment with the recovered ring!

LOST RING FOUND! in Lancaster County PA!!

The world truly does work in mysterious ways. This past weekend in PA was the real first taste of summer weather that he have had. I knew all weekend I wanted to get out to some permissions to do some metal detecting. However, as life sometimes does, I was caught up at home helping with some « honey-do » things as well as yard work. I was a little disappointed that I did not get out but I am always trying to stay present and not let things get to me. As it would happen around 9:45pm Sunday night I received a text message regarding a lost ring. Now I was already in bed with my eyes shut, but something made me look at my phone to get the text. I felt that this was a sign, that whatever power may be had placed this opportunity in front of me.

I set up to help find the ring the next day, which I found out was a Childs ring that was given to them as an engagement gift since their parents had gotten engaged.  As a step father myself I knew that this ring HAD TO BE FOUND and I was not going to give up until every inch of that yard was searched. The homeowners were super accommodating and gave me a very good layout of the yard. A garden, and a playset with about 100 feet in between was the search area. I started with the garden, which turned to take more time due to all the weed guard iron stakes.  No ring. I started to line out the yard working my way to the playset, with no luck. Where was this thing?, as rain clouds moved in my determination surely increased as finding this ring was now my sole mission in life (haha).

I made my way back towards the garden following my lines, luckily this was a new build and the ground trash was very minimal. Reaching the end of that pass I got a banger of a tone, super solid, my stomach dropped as did I with my pin pointer. Pealing back the grass I saw it, that shimmering metal (white gold). Now my mind instantly went to, « how am I gonna surprise them with it? »

I slipped the ring around the top part of my finger, called the lady out side to « question » if her daughter had been in the mulched garden. In doing so I pointed to the area, flashing the ring, and then…… the magical moment that makes all this worth it. SHE SAW IT! her eyes, smile, and « thankgoodness » nervous laugh said it all.

This ring was lost about 6 weeks ago and the the area « searched » thoroughly. The yard was also mowed several times (weph!! no blade marks).

I really believe that this adventure and the story of the ring was placed in front of me for a reason and I am so thankful that I was able to help.

I received a call about a lost wedding ring somewhere in their backyard. It was lost sometime when they performing gardening work and filling their composting box. Started the search in all of the common areas in the grass and paths with no luck. I search the composting box and found many nails then continue on to some other areas, came back and got a good hit. Continue to follow the hit all the way down to the bottom of the box and there was the ring. They were very happy to have the ring returned to them.

It took a while but Finally!

Recover 5/1/2021 – I got a call about a lost diamond ring and after getting all the info I proceeded to the address. It ha actually been lost for 3 weeks which sometimes can be of concern. (someone found it, thrown by lawnmower, etc). Making matters worse it had the potential to be in some really tall prickly vines and grass. After 2 hours of searching I found it. So happy to see the ring back on this girls hand!

Gold men’s wedding band lost in the grass at Boynton Beach, Florida Found and returned to owner.

I met my customer . he said that he was waving his hand to one of his friends and his ring flew off. he was saying that it flew about 20 feet. but after searching for a while there I asked more questions. I found that it must not have gone that far. so I reexamined the area closer. I   was only getting a target that sounded like a penny.  but guess what after checking the target out .. it was his ring. he was very happy. and left me this beautiful testimonial.
