What I thought was a normal Saturday went a little sideways when my wife realized she had accidentally lost her wedding band and engagement ring!

Luckily we found her engagement ring on the driver’s seat of her car, but after 2 hours of scouring the car, the area around the car, and the landscaping around that, we started to worry the wedding band was gone for good..

I was googling what metal detector works best for white gold when reddit recommended I try ring finders. When I hopped on ring finders Stephanie Hobbs was the closest ring finder to me, and I gave her a call!

She immediately answered and was able to be at our place looking in 1 hour, and for a very small reasonable flat fee!!!!

Her and her boyfriend Jeff both responded to our apartment, and after about 15 minutes of looking THEY FOUND THE RING, tucked away behind the TIRE OF OUR NEIGHBORS CAR. My wife and I had both LAID DOWN looking there multiple times! But what we didn’t have was Stephanie’s INCREDIBLE eye !!!
While this happened Jeff was painstakingly fishing his endoscope camera UNDER THE CARPET OF MY WIFE’S CAR WHERE THE WIRES GO to make triple sure that the ring didn’t roll down there somehow!!

The whole time we are chatting with Stephanie and Jeff realizing these might be two of the nicest, most kind hearted people we have ever run into. Absolutely amazing people to chat with and hang out with, all while being absolutely PHENOMENAL at ring finding.

I honestly don’t know what to say, my wife and I will never forget this day and will plan to stay in touch with Stephanie and Jeff in case they ever need anything.

White Gold Wedding Band Lost in the Dry Sand, Found and Returned Myrtle Beach SC

This adventure started at 9:30 am on Memorial Day, 2026 when I received a text from Maureen saying, “Hi, is this the ring finder gentleman? She went on to say, “I apologize so much, I know it’s a holiday, but I was told the sooner I try to get help finding it the better.  We were in front of the Carolinian Beach Resort on 25th Ave in Myrtle Beach with some friends yesterday and I lost my wedding band. It’s just a straight band with 5 diamonds across. It was given to me by my husband by his mom to give to me and I’m just devastated. I’ve been out with my dad’s metal detector once, and we are going to try and go out with it again today. Do you think there’s any chance in a million of finding it?” I immediately called the number, and it went to voice mail, so I text her to call me. When she called, I asked her if she could meet me and told her I could be there in about 30-40 minutes. She agreed, and I told her I was on my way.

When I got there, I texted her and she responded their GPS said they were about 16 minutes out. I asked her if she could give me a location on the beach with some landmarks, which she did. Luckily the beach wasn’t crowded yet, but there was a family just getting ready to set up their spot and it was very close to where I needed to search. I explained what I was doing and asked nicely if I could check their area really quick. They agreed and I quickly went over the area and got a solid 26 on the VDI (visual display indicator). Well, the 26 told me the target was in the silver range. This was way outside the single digits I expected for a white gold wedding band, which was what Maureen’s wedding band was. I dug the target and found a ring, it was nice looking, but one of the cheap rings people buy at the beach shops for $10 bucks. I thanked the family and waited for Maureen, her husband Miguel and their children.

Maureen and her family showed up a short time later and met me on the beach. Maureen walked to the south side of the area where they had been sitting. She said that she had taken her rings off and put them under the strap of her swimming suit top to put sunscreen on her and the kids. After she was done, her engagement ring was there but the wedding band had fallen out. I turned the Equinox 800 back on and started a north/south grid. Within just a few minutes, I got a booming 6 on the VDI, Bingo!! This was exactly what I was expecting for her white gold ring. Took a scoop of sand, shook out the sand and saw her ring in the bottom of the scoop. I held the scoop out to her and let her pull her treasure out. She was so excited, and some tears started to flow. Perfect ending and another chapter to add to her ring story.

Lost/Found Gold Ring Wedding Set In Milton, Delaware

On 05/05/26, I received a call from Randy requesting my help in finding a gold ring wedding set that belonged to his wife Carole. Randy said that the wedding set had been lost in the grass at the rear of their residence while Carole was hanging up their wash on the clothes line to dry. Randy said that Carole felt the two rings as they slipped off her finger but upon searching the grass under the clothes line the rings were no where to be found. Upon responding to Randy and Caroles residence I started to search the grass under the clothes line with my metal detector. After a few minutes into the search I determined that the grass so short and dry that if the rings were on the ground it would be possible to see and recover them by searching by eye sight. I determined that the rings were not on the ground under the clothes line. I noticed that Carole had hung up a fitted bed sheet on the clothes line so that it could dry. I grabbed my pin pointer and ran it along the bottom of the fitted sheet at which time my pin pointer began to sound off. The two lost rings had slid off of Caroles finger and landed in the bottom of the fitted sheet, Carole removed the rings from the sheet and placed them back on her finger where they belonged.

Lost/Found Gold Wedding Band At Cape Henlopen State Park Lewes, Delaware

On 03/29/26, I received a call from Kyra requesting my help in recovering her lost gold wedding band that had been lost on the beach at Cape Henlopen State Park in Lewes, Delaware. The wedding band had belonged to her deceased mother, she had lost the ring in the sand on 03/26/26 while throwing a football. I met Kyra at the beach at which time she showed me the area that she believed that the ring had come off her finger and had fallen in the sand. I began a grid search of the area and after about 20 minutes the lost ring was recovered and returned to Kyra.

Received a call from Joes cousin Nicole. Nicole explained that her cousin Joe had just lost his ring in the surf while enjoying the ocean with the family. Joe was body surfing, and at some point, his gold wedding ring had slipped off and disappeared into the ocean. It was just about 5pm when they called and low tide was at 5:30pm. I immediately rushed up and met up with Joe and his family. Joe was fairly confident of where he was at when he noticed the ring was gone but wasnt positive of exactly when it happened. He was between chest deep water and ankle deep surf. I began working a search grid from where he believed was the most probable spot. After recovering many targets in the “wash zone” I began to work my way out to deeper water. Joe and his family had returned to their home for dinner and I assured them that I would continue searching the area to ensure it was thoroughly covered. After about 2hrs of searching I heard the signal I was waiting for. After two scoops in chest deep water out popped Joes ring! Another happy client!

LOST Platinum wedding ring (for 5 months) at Air BnB on Lake Gaston, NC….. FOUND!!

So got a text from the wife of a guy that lost his platinum wedding ring at an AirBnB last November, just as the cold weather started coming in, I told her that sadly, I was done with water hunting for the season and that I could do it in late spring/early summer depending on the AirBnB schedule.

So a couple of weeks ago, I texted her and said I could do now that temperatures are rising. She responded and said she’d have to contact the owner of the house and get back with me.

We worked out a date and time for Sunday after 10:15 when the family checks out. I make the drive, review last years pictures and jump in the water to start my search. About an hour went by and I finally see a silvery/Platinum ring in my scoop!

I get out, take some pictures and send it to her, asking if this was “the ring!” She quickly replied back, “OMG, YES!” I said “send me your address and I’ll send you guys the ring!”

I sent this platinum ring to MD and the received it! It’s back where it belongs!!

Lost Wedding Band Found With Metal Detector – Atlantic Beach, NC

Matthew and his wife were enjoying a warm weekend at the beach. Since his fingers sometimes swell, Matthew took off his wedding band and put it in a pouch. Later, after packing up, he realized the ring was missing. His wife posted a plea for help, and a few responses suggested Crystal Coast Ring Finders. The couple had an appointment that afternoon they couldn’t miss, so we agreed to meet the next day. Although pinpointing the exact spot on the beach was tricky, their great detective work brought me within 10 feet of where the ring was lost. Matthew was starting to doubt it could be found, but after a few false signals, I got a loud hit near the new marked spot. Up from the sand came Matthew’s wedding band, back in his hands where it belonged!

Fellow Ring Finder, John Favano, referred Jamie to me. Time was of the essence on this one! Jamie was extremely stressed and upset over his lost gold wedding band…a wedding band he had been wearing for 38 years year straight and sadly, one in which he continued to wear in honor of his recently deceased wife. Oh…we were going to find this one…no matter what! Jamie was driving down his quiet community street with his left arm out the window….when he felt his ring slip off…and heard it bounce (once) on the street below. He immediately pulled to the side of road…thinking he would find after a quick search. But when he could not locate it he had a crowd of family and friends join in the search on hands and knees and they searched for hours. I showed up 60 minutes later with several metal detectors to assist in the search. Jamie described all the details involved when losing the ring…we even re-enacted the loss with him driving down the road and dropping a washer to simulate the ring. I firstly scanned the 3 small grassy front yards right where he said the ring slipped off…a gold ring on the surface has a very unique signature on my Minelab Manticare metal detector…and I knew for sure it was not in one of those areas. Time to expand the search…maybe the ring bounced and rolled farther away than anyone thought??? I walked 30 yards farther to another grassy area bordering the street…and boom…I got the gold ring signal I was hoping for. I looked down and saw his large gold ring sitting on top of the grass…I called at Jamie who was sitting looking dejected down the street and said I had another question  for him…he walked up to me and I said my question is « is that your ring »…pointing downward. Man…not sure I ever saw a guy look so relieved…he then become overpowered by emotion. It was very satisfying to be able come through for this kind and caring man.

LOST RING FOUND MONTICELLO, INDIANA

As summer arrives in Indiana, more people are heading to lakes and beaches, which also means an increase in lost jewelry and wedding rings. Many of the calls I receive begin after someone tries to rent a metal detector and quickly realizes how difficult underwater recoveries can be. My most recent hunt was no exception. I received a call from a couple who lost a ring in Monticello, Indiana, and despite the drive from my home base in Carmel, I was ready to take on the challenge.

Derick and his wife were visiting a friend’s lake house to enjoy a relaxing day on the water when she slipped while boarding the boat and fell into the frigid lake. Although shaken up but otherwise okay, she later realized her wedding ring was missing. After searching the cabin, they concluded the ring must have slipped off during the fall. Hoping to recover it quickly, Derick decided to rent a metal detector and search for the ring himself that same evening. After two exhausting hours searching underwater with goggles, flashlights, and the rented metal detector, they were left discouraged with no sign of the ring.

That’s when Derick found Lost and Found Ring and gave me a call. The next evening, I made the trip to the lake, suited up in a thick wetsuit, and began the search. The area was littered with junk, metal dock posts, and an aluminum jet ski lift that created heavy interference for my detector. After carefully scanning the area and isolating the best signal, I dug my first solid target, and there it was. Derick and his wife were overjoyed to have the ring safely back on her finger. Stories like this are exactly why I do what I do. If you lose a ring, save yourself the frustration and expense of renting a metal detector and call a professional first.

Large Platinum Wedding Band Lost, Recovered and Returned in West Chester, PA!!!

Steve found me in The Ring Finder directory and was seeking help in locating his lost platinum wedding band. He was doing some yard work in the backyard of his home in West Chester, PA when his ring slipped off his finger. Prior to reaching out to me he attempted to find the ring himself with a cheap metal detector. I told him that I quite frequently get calls for help after folks buy or rent a detector. What I tell most people is the machine itself is important (and I have all top of the line machines!) but not as important as the experience of the operator! You have to know what to listen for! Anyway, I met Steve at his home a few days later and he showed me where he was working. I took a few minutes to demonstrate my machine…utilizing my own platinum wedding band to let him hear the signal I would be searching for. He thought maybe it flew off while he was tossing sticks into a pile…but the area where he was doing that wasn’t really an area that would obscure the ring. He would have found it with his eyes. He was also picking up brush, sticks and carrying them across the deep grass of his back yard….I thought that was more likely the area the ring would be found. Sure enough 10 minutes into searching the grass I got the beautiful signal I was searching for! I bent down and searched the deep grass…and there was his beautiful, large platinum band!!! The look of joy and relief on Steve’s face was epic!!!
