Gold wedding band lost at South Beach Boca Raton Florida… found..
It was a rough search . I arrived at high tide, and the seaweed made the search impossible. but as the high tide went out the seaweed cleared. And over 5 hours I finally found the ring right where he said it was.
Well, I’m not sure if this counts as 2 rings or more but I am sure that Kelly and Bill are absolutely thrilled that I was able to put them back on her hands where they belong. Kelly and Bill have been married for 25 years and have been down vacationing from Michigan. Kelly folded her rings into her swimsuit early in the day for safekeeping and forgot they were there when she got up later to meet her sister. You can imagine her shock when she realized they were gone that evening. Kelly went ahead and called me even though it was nighttime and I’m glad she didn’t wait. Bill had gone out with a sand flea rake for fishing and combed the area already to no avail. I told him later that he had actually just made the rings go deeper and deeper every time he disturbed the sand because of the density of gold. Luckily for Kelly and Bill, I have a wonderful wife and even though we were at dinner 30 minutes away, she offered to ride with me and we immediately went home and grabbed my gear. I met Bill in the parking lot and he walked me down to the area he thought they had lost them. I could see all of the rake marks and I told Bill I would start my search there and then fan out if needed. I absolutely love night searches on the beach. It’s nice and cool and you can hear the waves over the hum of the machine in my headphones. You can enjoy the stars without bumping into sunbathers and it’s just a great time to enjoy what I do. I also knew that I had a very anxious couple waiting on the outcome so I was very glad that as I made my first pass I heard a faint gold sound. I was a little surprised at how deep it was even though I knew Bill had thoroughly raked the area. When my first gentle scoop to five inches came back empty I thought to myself that they were very lucky they called me and I had the machine that I was using. The second scoop was the charm and I reached down and dug the first ring out of the scoop to make sure I didn’t scratch it. When I saw that I had them both in the scoop, I smiled and handed them to Bill. With a shaky hand, he asked me to hold the light and he took a picture and sent it to Kelly in the room so she could stop worrying immediately. We walked back up and told my wife that I was already done in less than 10 minutes and Bill asked us both to come up and meet Kelly. When we walked in the door I was quickly reminded why I do this. Bill and Kelly both got choked up remembering how much those rings had been a part of over the last 25 years. I was glad that my wife got to witness that and I hope Bill and Kelly have many, many more happy years together. 👍😃
(March 2, 2019) While vacationing with her husband and family from Minnesota and spending the afternoon at a nice sunny Florida beach, Nicole discovered that her rose gold diamond wedding engagement ring she’d carefully hidden in a secure location was missing. After sifting trough the sand without result, she found The Ring Finders site and made the call. The rest is history. Susan called to ask for help in finding her husband’s lost tungsten wedding band. It was slung off his wet finger a month before when opening their camper door. Carrie and I left the next day for the 70 mile trip. On arriving, we found the grassy search area to be small in the RV lot. We began the search of the lot. Next to the grassy area was a fenced area for a water system. Sid hunted the fenced area facing the RV. After 2 hours of searching and re-searching the yard and rock driveway, we had not found the ring. Susan, Carrie and Sid had gathered up near the rear side of the water system to discuss the next step when Carrie saw a sparkle from the rocks around the water system. In plain view laying on the rocks was the ring. Lost items are not always where you expect them to be. After the happy trio took pictures, we were on our way back home. After Brennon and Alyssa rode their 4 wheeler along the muddy trails, they decided to call it a day. They parked at the area used to wash off the four wheelers and themselves. While washing her hands with a hose, Alyssa felt her engagement ring slip off her finger. They and other riders hunted for it from 8 PM till midnight with no success. The next morning they returned with a newly purchased metal detector to continue the hunt. After finding only foil, pennies and pop tops, Brennon looked at a YouTube video for hunting hints. He saw a “The Ring Finders” decal on a car in the video and went to our website. We got the call from Brennon on Sunday morning. Carrie and I were able to load our equipment and be on site in 1 ½ hours. The hunt area was relatively small but had quite a lot of trash. It was hard bottom with dead matted grass covered by 2 to 4 inches of mud. After 20 minutes of getting everything, including us, covered in mud, Carrie found the ring, tangled in the grass, under the mud. After some happy tears and pictures (and washing off mud from us and our equipment) we were heading home feeling great after reuniting Alyssa with her beautiful ring.

Angela called me to help find her lost keys. It was dark, she and her husband were outside his car in the parking lot where they lived. Angela attempted to throw her keys over to top of the car to her husband on the other side. The keys didn’t make it! They hit the top of the car and bounced somewhere. They searched the parking lot, sidewalk, and landscaping the best they could in the dark using a flashlight, but, didn’t have any luck. They searched again the next day, even cleaning out dead leaves and branches from the bushes along the sidewalk. Still no luck. Next in the process was to buy a metal detector and try again. They had « fun » removing everything imaginable from the ground cover and bushes, but, the keys just wouldn’t speak up. Eventually, they heard about The Ring Finders and gave me a call.
I met Angela at the parking lot around noon and got the low down on how the keys were lost. I started by searching all the ground area in and around the bushes and all along the sidewalk. No luck. I ran the coil over the surface of the bushes and even in the overhanging tree branches, but, still nothing. Next, I started at one end and started shaking all the bushes as hard as I dared, hoping to hear the tinkle of keys or to hopefully convince the bushes to let go of them. We made it all the way to the other end without success, but, while walking back toward where we started Angela looked down and spied them right under the corner of one of the bushes. Yes! Don’t know how we missed them at the time we were at that bush, but, hey, they’re now back where they belong, so, that’s what counts. A very happy Angela called her husband with the good news and both gratefully thanked me. A pleasure to meet you Angela and thank you for the reward.
Taloria called late Saturday afternoon looking for help in finding her lost engagement ring. It was too late to drive the 1 ½ hrs to Baton Rouge and get any hunting in before dark, so we set up to meet early the next morning. When we arrived at the site, Taloria said she was on her way to a party with friends when she placed her engagement ring on her lap to apply some hand lotion. When they had parked in the grassy field, she exited the car not thinking about the ring. When she realized the ring was gone, she hunted in and around the car but did not find it. She then called us to help. Being she knew where the car was parked, the search area was small. The problems were tall grass and lots of trash (foil, pull tabs, drink containers, etc.). The hunt was very tedious. Sid got tired of the constant up and down to check out hits. He got on his hands and knees and crawled around using the pin pointer. The technique worked. A hit with the pointer and glints of shiny metal proved to be the ring. Taloria (also Carrie and Sid) were very excited. After reuniting Taloria with her beautiful ring, lots of hugs, lots of smiles, and lots of pictures, we all headed home.
I received a phone call from Diane asking for my help in finding her lost rings on the beach in Ocean City, Maryland between 143rd and 144th streets. Diane told me that she and her family had been vacationing in Ocean City, Maryland and that while they were on the beach on 08/10/18 she had lost her two wedding rings. Diane said that she had sat down in a beach chair at edge of the water where the waves were breaking and that she fell asleep. Diane said that when she woke up her left hand was laying on the wet sand and that her two wedding rings were missing from her left hand. On 08/14/18, I went to the beach where Diane had lost her rings and began a search for them. Diane had also mentioned that she had been sitting in an area of dry sand prior to going down to the water and she was really unsure of where she had lost the two rings. I did search an area of dry sand based on Diane’s memory of where she had been on the beach that day and the two rings were no where to be found. I then decided to search an area closer to the waters edge and after several passes I was able to recover the lost wedding band. I then knew that the engagement ring should be somewhere close to where the wedding band had been found. I then adjusted my search to an area about a foot away from where I found the band and a little closer to the water. The search adjustment was a success and I was able to locate the engagement ring. After returning home I sent Diane a text with a photo of her two rings and they were identified as being her lost rings. Diane requested that I keep her rings until 08/22/18 and on that date I turned the recovered rings over to Diane’s daughter who had driven to Bethany Beach, Delaware for a day of fun in the sun.
I received a call about a lost gold pendant that had been lost from a chain around a child’s neck while playing on a trampoline. The father explained that it was a small golden pendant about the size of half of a penny. Wow that stressed me, it sounded so small, then he told me that he purchased a cheap detector and there were signals all over the place and they had searched for hours with no luck. Now I’m thinking this will be a near impossible recovery.
So I arrived at the location today at 12:30 p.m. and it was at a friends house. So the friend took me out and showed me the location that they thought it was lost at. As he was showing me where they thought it might be lost at he looked down and said what is that, reaching down he picked up something that looked like gold foil and it was the pendant!
I don’t care who finds the lost object as long as it’s found. I did run my CTX3030 over it and it rang up at 12-05 loud and clear.
I received a call from Pete last month asking if I could help find his fiancé’s lost engagement ring at the bottom of a farm pond. I said maybe if it wasn’t too deep. He said he thought it was between 3 and 4 feet where she lost it. I said I’ll give it a try.
They have a small boat that they use on this pond and while coming to shore she fell out of the back of the boat. She lost her phone, sunglasses, keys and a 3 carat diamond ring!
The items had been in the water about a week when I got the call and arrived. After getting in with my detector and long handled scoop I found that the bottom was mud and at a slant so it made scooping a little difficult.
The first item recovered was her cell phone. I could feel it with my foot so instead of scooping I just pushed it in the scoop with my foot. The second thing found was her sunglasses. The third thing was the ring and I recovered it by leaning over with my pinpointer and pulling it out with my fingers. After that he didn’t care about the keys anymore!
I’ve been waiting on a picture of the happy couple for the book of smiles but it looks like it might not come so I decided to post without it but I thank him for the generous reward.
