I received a call from Carolyn telling me she had lost her phone in the sand at the beach. It was already dark, and searching for it was tough for her. She was there with some friends, and in their visit she became detached from the phone unknowingly, so she wasn’t exactly sure where it was lost but had a general idea. I let her know I would be coming soon to help her.

When I got there we found each other quickly. We discussed what happened, and also where the loss probably occurred. I turned on my machine, swung a couple of times, got a good signal, and within 30 seconds, I was able to hand Carolyn back her phone. She was very happy, and her friends celebrated with her.

Steph contacted me regarding the loss of her engagement ring. She was at the beach, and was hit by a wave when her ring came off in the water. It was a ring custom made for her by her fiance with a ruby that had been in his family for over 80 years, and was virtually priceless. It only happened just an hour before the call, so I made sure she knew that I would come right away in order to try and insure a recovery.

When I got to the beach, I looked for Steph and her fiance, but could not find them, so I called, and found that they had gone for a walk. I guess the loss had caused so much distress that they needed to deal with. I began to search where I thought they had been. Grace contacted me after having lost her phone the night before in the sand at the beach. My hopes weren’t high because I know the beach is machine cleaned often, but she said it was still showing it was there on her app. We arranged to meet for the search, and I was on my way.

When I got there Grace met me, and took me out to the area where she had been the night before, and where the phone was signaling from. I turned my machine on, and it took all of 30 seconds to find her phone under about 3 inches of sand. She was happy to have it back, and this made her vacation from Indiana complete; so glad to help.

Erma NJ Lost Diamond Earring Found by Ring Finders South Jersey John Favano

Our meeting led to a successful search – the diamond earring was recovered in just 20 minutes. Kellie had to leave for work. She was happy it was found! Little Egg Harbor NJ, Heirloom Ring lost in Lagoon, recovered by Edward Trapper, NJ Ring Finder

Kyle initially contacted another local ring finder about his wife’s rings, which had been dropped into a lagoon a day or two earlier. Since he wasn’t in the area, the call was referred to me. After speaking with Kyle, he explained that his wife had taken off her rings while in the water, right by the ladder, and as she was handing them up, they slipped out of her hand and sank into the lagoon.

Once I learned the location, I knew this recovery would be particularly challenging. The mud in that area of New Jersey is black, soft, and essentially bottomless. It’s critical to take proper precautions, as working in those conditions can be dangerous.

When I arrived, I got straight to work, carefully scanning the area with my metal detector to identify promising signals before digging into the thick, black, pudding-like mud. After about 30 minutes of searching, I successfully recovered one of the rings. I continued looking for another hour but couldn’t find the others.

Fortunately, the ring I found was the family heirloom—the one they were most eager to get back. The black mud can be incredibly tricky, as items tend to sink quickly, and I suspect that’s what happened to the remaining rings. Nonetheless, they were relieved to have recovered the most sentimental piece.

Yardwork & Christmas Lights Equals Lost Ring in Cinnaminson NJ. Found by Dave Milsted

Sara called me, asking for help to find her husband’s gold wedding ring. She found me on the Ring Finder’s website. He had spent the entire day working in the yard—cleaning out the gutters, raking leaves, and putting up Christmas lights. Despite his efforts, he couldn’t locate the ring. With only about an hour of daylight left, I headed over to assist.

When I arrived, Devon was still searching for the ring. There was a massive pile of leaves at the curb, scheduled for pickup that week, so I began my search there. Unfortunately, I had no luck.

Next, we moved to the flower beds under the gutter. I received a strong signal under a small bush. Despite not seeing the ring on the ground, the signal was promising. Using my pinpointer, I discovered the signal was coming from within the bush.

It turned out that when the ring slipped off Devon’s hand, it landed in the bush and got hooked on one of the branches. The ring, a beautiful yellow-gold piece, held significant sentimental value as it belonged to Devon’s great-grandfather.

I love my hobby!

Evan tried several times to find the rings but, unfortunately, there was no luck so I started to accept the fate and that we have lost them forever.
All of a sudden, Evan reached me out again saying that after making some calls, there was a slight chance to have found the rings so I could not believe it.
It turned out that someone, the day after rings were lost, turned them into Canmore Municipal Enforcement office. Evan connected me with them.  After a couple of verifications, we could confirm that, indeed, there were the rings we lost.
I was thrilled after hearing such news, but I decided not to tell my wife because I wanted to surprise her. She was so sad and so disappointed when she lost them that I knew she would be so excited when she found out.
I contacted a company to pick up the rings and bring them back to Spain and, after submitting a lot of documents to clear the items in customs, rings finally arrived.
When my wife came back from work that day I gave them the rings and, when she realized, her face changed in a blink of an eye. She was so happy and so excited that I was even moved. She felt somehow « guilty » for losing them and having the opportunity to recover the rings back I think it was a relief for her.
A beautiful end to a outstanding trip!

Finding lost gold rings in Canmore

I received a call from Dani. His wife lost two rings while hiking.  The fresh snow swallowed them up and he couldn’t find them before their flight left for Spain. After talking and texting I went out two days later. No luck with the detector but that didn’t stop me from finding them. Watch the video for the whole story.
