Tungsten Wedding Ring Lost In The Hollis Center, Maine Snow, Found With A Metal Detector

  • from Old Orchard Beach (Maine, United States)

I received the following text, at 5:20pm, Super Bowl Sunday,

“Hello, I saw your profile on The Ring Finders! My name is Steven, I lost my ring in my yard this evening in the snow and I cannot find it for the life of me. I live in Hollis Center, Maine, and would very much appreciate your service. Thank you for your time and have a great day!”

I immediately called Steven back and asked him what had happened. Steven told me that after finishing up a few things, he had been doing outside, he was about to enter his house through the back door, to his basement. Just before entering, he shook his hands, to remove the melting snow, from his hands. As he shook his hands, standing directly in front of the door, he felt his Tungsten Wedding Ring slipping off his finger. He then heard the ring, hit the hard packed snow, of the walkway, in front of the door. Steven didn’t hear the ring hit anything else, after the ring had hit the hard packed snow but the ring wasn’t on the walkway and Steven had no idea as to which way the ring had bounced. Had it gone off to the side of him, in front of him, in back of him? He just didn’t know and with areas of snow still up to 18” deep, his search of the surrounding area was futile. Trying to find something as small as a wedding ring in up to 18” of snow is virtually impossible, with the naked eye. Steven knew he needed help and that was when he reached out to me. I told Steven that since it was now dark outside I could come and search the next day, when I would have plenty of sunlight, to assist me. Even with a metal detector, I would need plenty of light because it really is difficult to see a ring, in the snow, even after my metal detector locates it. Plus, This was on Steven’s private property where there was no chance of a plow, shovel, snowblower, etc. would move the ring, outside of the area. There was also no chance of someone walking through the area, seeing the ring, on the walkway. Steven would leave the area undisturbed, until I was able to arrive, the next day.
Once I arrived, Steven immediately came out to meet me and I had brought a Tungsten ring with me to set up and calibrate my metal detector. I told Steven that Tungsten is a Non Ferrous, mid conducting metal and usually rings up in the 50’s on the Minelab Manticore, although I have found a few that have rung up in the high 40’s and low 60’s. I threw the ring into the snow and then show Steven how I hoped to find his ring. My coil found my test ring loud and clear, impressing Steven that he could actually hear the target. I then used my pinpointer and showed him how the pinpointer worked. Once I pinpointed the target, I still couldn’t see the ring, in the close to 12” of deep snow. I kept removing snow and finally it appeared. Thankfully there was plenty of sunshine to help me. Steven then took me to the back of the house, down a walkway, and showed me exactly where he had been standing, when his wedding ring came off of his finger. I looked at the area and my first thought was that the ring most likely didn’t land in front of him. The motion of shaking his hands, suggested to me that the ring would have gone behind him, possibly to his left side. He hadn’t heard anything, other that the wedding ring hitting the hard packed snow. Directly in front of him was his house and the ring didn’t hit the house or another hard object. Again, just lots of snow behind him. I started my metal detector up and stood where he had been standing and searched the snow to the immediate left of where he was shaking his hand. Nothing found. I then turned around and started searching behind where he had been and on just on the outside area, of the walkway. The area was very clean of any metal and just 2-3 minutes into the search, I received a strong signal, reading 56-57 on the Minelab Manticore’s VDI Screen. Definitely a non ferrous, mid conducting metal. I was pretty sure this was the wedding ring, as it was nice and loud and repeating. As I brushed the snow away, the ring came into focus and Steven broke out into a smile and giggle, saying “So fast”. I then asked Steven if that was his ring and he confirmed that it was his wedding ring and saying, “That’s wonderful, Thank you so much. I love this ring, more than anything. We just got married a couple of months ago, in October.” WOW, Newlyweds!!!! That explains this a little more. Cold, wet fingers, a new ring, that probably doesn’t fit quite right. What could possibly go wrong? As you all know, I have helped many newlyweds over the years. Experience tells me that most newlyweds have rings that are not the proper size and before you know it, the ring is gone. Thankfully for Steven, this happened right in his own backyard. I mentioned to Steven that he should probably get a clear silicone ring sizer , for his ring. You can get them at Amazon, Walmart or a jeweler, etc.. Usually less than $10.00 and you would have piece of mind that your ring is nice and snug, on your finger.
So another happy, smiling client and another ring, back on the finger. I love my job and it’s the best job, in the world.

Lost Platinum & Diamonds Wedding Ring at Hale Koa Beach…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This ring find began when I got a text from Tom who was on Hale Koa Beach as an Air Force Family was trying to find a lost Platinum & Diamonds Wedding Ring in the dry sand.  I assured Tom I could be there soon and he put me in contact with Wes who is the gentleman that lost the ring.  Wes was on vacation from Walnut Creek, California and explained he was throwing a football and the ring slipped off his finger and disappeared somewhere in the dry sand.  He told me they had been digging for awhile, where they thought it fell, but couldn’t locate the ring.  I told Wes to have everyone stop digging and to relax on the beach I would be there in about 25 minutes.  Thankfully, when I arrived there was several parking available.  As I walked down the boardwalk I heard someone yell,  » Joe we are right here. »  I looked towards the beach and the entire family was chilling on the beach, awaiting my arrival.  Wes had already marked off the area with small fish nets so I started my search in the area I saw they were digging.  First two targets were Lincoln Cents, then a small aluminum disc.  I was now out of the area previously dug and the family was starting to wonder where the ring could be.  Then a somewhat scratchy tone and after two full scoops there was Wes’s Platinum & Diamonds Ring in the scoop.  Someone must have stepped on it.  Wes immediately put the ring back on his finger and when I asked if he could remove it for a pic it was stuck.  That’s actually good so we took the pic as it was.  Vacation saved!  Aloha to Wes and his wonderful family.

Lost Rings (Bonne Terre, Missouri)

  • from St. Louis (Missouri, United States)

On February 8th I had just finished feeding my goats and came in the house and started washing dishes and realized my rings that I wear on my right hand were missing. They have been pretty lose with the cold weather but I didn’t actually believe they could slip off without me feeling it. So I began tearing the house apart with no luck. My husband came home from work on the 11th and with tears in my eyes I broke the news to him with great sorrow. I felt as though they were gone forever. My husband immediately started turning furniture upside down and checking every square inch of the house with no luck. My husband had an idea of calling a metal detector guy because he felt as though maybe the rings slipped off my finger while taking care of our goats. I was skeptical but figured why not. They started the search and just as they thought the rings were gone forever, the detector went off and my precious gems were found unharmed. I can’t explain the gratitude I feel but my tears of JOY show a lot. I’d like to thank Jeremy Roth with Ring Finders located in Washington, MO., for traveling over an hour south to help us out! Great service and an even better outcome!

Sincerely,

Mrs. Brenda Perez

Kaitlynn’s daughter was given her very first nice piece of jewelry as a Christmas gift and just a month later she somehow dropped it in their back yard! Kaitlynn found theringfinders.com online and sent me a text asking if I could help. There were only three and a half hours before the Super Bowl broadcast so off I went to see what I could do.

There are allot of wonderful young families in the world and this is definitely one of them! They showed me where their daughter had walked across the backyard and lost her ring and I began a tight grid search using plastic half cones to mark my progress. Fifteen minutes later I got a high silver signal that could only mean one thing and sure enough there was her lost silver ring just laying in the grass waiting to be recovered. So I called the daughter over and let her use my pin pointer to retrieve her own lost ring!

What an honor and privilege to be used by God to help this dear young family find a precious lost ring and see the joy and happiness it brought them.

How can I help you? Call or text me ASAP at 321-363-6029 and let’s talk!

On the way home from dinner I couldn’t stop playing with my newly found ring and it popped out of my hand. I heard a clank and once again there it went, gone… I thought to be forever. We searched everywhere in the car but it had simply vanished. Enter Mike McInroe! A living, breathing Angel! He searched in the car and under my passenger car seat for over two hours: never loosing patience, hope or faith in himself. Lost White Gold Ring w/Diamonds in the Snow Found in Allen Park Michigan

  • from Detroit (Michigan, United States)

Frosted!!……..

Is how newly engaged Jade felt after falling down in the snow in the front yard. After changing clothes, she noticed her ring missing. Now dark out she tried shoveling and using a flashlight to find the ring but had no luck. The next day I began a grid search with my MXT metal detector. Detecting thru the piles of shoveled snow provided no signal. Detecting along the path to the house I got a great signal. Pinpointing down over a highly compressed patch of snow, as I slowly scraped it away, I caught the sparkle of diamonds shining thru a thin veil of frost! As I was getting the ring free from the snow, I waved Jade to come over. Looking down all she saw was a chunk of snow. I wasn’t until she picked it up that the cold mass started to thaw. When the snow defrosted and the ring appeared, she went into diamond overload as we both were dazzled with the reflections of elegance the ring processed. Yes, Jade loves her diamonds and is beyond happy that even snow can’t dull the sparkle.

A Different Search in Kelowna BC.

  • from Kelowna (British Columbia, Canada)

A lady called me that her husband had lost 2 gold rings, one of them large wedding ring. Asking questions on their loss, she explained that the loss is in his business office. I advised her that a metal detector has issues indoors due to all the electrical units around, but that I would respond and do a complete search. At the office I asked him what he did to lose the rings, he explained that working on his keyboard the wedding ring was so large it interfered with his typing, so he always takes them off and puts them on the desk. I spent one hour searching every part of the room, his files, cupboards, chairs, visually, and with a pinpointer with no success. In the end I advised them that to lose two rings was unlikely and I suspected that someone entered his office and stole them. I told them to search their clothing and vehicle, I also recommended that they submit a police report in case they show up at a pawn shop.   At least they have the satisfaction of knowing that the rings are not in the office.

Buried but Not Lost: A Platinum Wedding Ring Recovered in Spring, Texas

  • from Sugar Land (Texas, United States)
Buried but Not Lost: A Platinum Wedding Ring Recovered in Spring, Texas:
I was recently contacted regarding the loss of a platinum wedding ring at a residence in Spring, Texas. The homeowner explained that the ring went missing shortly after completing cold-weather protection preparation in the front yard of his home.
Before the cold weather arrived here in Texas, he had spread a large volume of mulch across multiple flower beds. He covered several plants with protective sheets to guard against freezing temperatures. It wasn’t until the following evening that he realized his wedding ring was no longer on his finger.
He searched briefly but quickly became overwhelmed. The search area was extensive, the mulch was freshly laid, and numerous plants had been handled and covered. Knowing the odds were stacked against him, he turned to the internet—and that search led him to Houston Metal Detecting Services.
Arrangements were made to meet at his residence that same day.
The search area was sizable, consisting of a large grassy front lawn and several mulch-covered flower beds. From the start, I knew this recovery would be more challenging than a typical surface find. Given the circumstances, it was unlikely the ring would be sitting on top of the grass or caught in the roots. The more probable scenario was that it had been unknowingly buried beneath fresh mulch in one of the flower beds.
We began with the easier portion of the search—the front lawn. After carefully covering the entire grassy area with no success, attention shifted to the flower beds. These beds had recently received several inches of new mulch, making a visual search nearly impossible.
Working methodically through the beds, the signal finally came in.
As shown in the photos, the platinum wedding ring was recovered from approximately three inches beneath fresh mulch in one of the front flower beds. Another wedding ring, once thought lost for good, was safely returned to its rightful owner.
Moments like this are exactly why I do what I do—helping people recover items that carry far more value than metal alone.

Wedding Ring recovery at Sunset Beach, Huntington Beach

  • from Sunset Beach (California, United States)

Call Surf City Ring Finder-

Chris called me and explained to me about the loss of his wife’s ring at Sunset Beach. They were already on their way home to Northern California but he sent me a video of where they were on the beach. I went to the beach after work and used his video to find the area they weee at. After detecting for about 30 minutes I located the lost ring. The ring was pretty deep in the sand as the high tide had gone over it after the loss. His brother lives in Orange County so he was able to pick it up for him.
