Lost Key Fob in the Snow in Edgewater Park NJ

This past winter kept me busy.

I had just gotten home & put away all of my detecting equipment from an earlier request when I received a call from Moise. While shoveling, he lost his keys & fob. I told him I could be there in about 30 minutes.

When I got there, he showed me where he was shoveling. There were some pretty high piles of snow. He went back into the house.

I got started. Within 5 minutes, I got a good signal. Dug down about 15 inches, and there were his keys. I knocked on the door and showed him his fob. He was amazed at how quickly I found them. He had been looking for hours.

I love my hobby!!

How to find lost keys in the snow

After being alerted by my brother that his employer had lost her keys in the snow outside her house, I made contact with her and headed over to see if I could help. After about 20 minutes I was able to locate the keys and fob in a snow bank the plow had created at the end of her driveway.

Received a call to look for a group of keys that he thought he had lost shoveling the driveway. One of the keys was to his car, which he could not move. Also a series of house keys and others. I started to search with  CTX 3030. Found a lot of metal interference. Took rake and searched my signals along with my pinpointer. Nothing! There was a large pile of snow near some steps with a metal railing. Decided to use the pinpointer and buried it into the pile. BINGO!!

On Valentine’s Day, I received a telephone call from Kelley, a fellow employee, explaining that she had lost her keys in the company’s parking lot somewhere in the snow.  It was my day off, and another employee suggested that she call to see if I could help.  The company has huge parking lots, so I was concerned that it may have been plowed into one of the huge mounds of snow, but I agreed to give it a shot.  I searched three areas of the parking lot where she thought she may have dropped the keys without any luck.  Finally, I searched around a light pole in the parking lot and found the set of keys.  Kelley said it was the best Valentine’s Day present she could have received!
