Lost Platinum Diamond Set Sandwich Beach Cape Cod, Mass

2016-07-24 close up on detector

On Sunday Morning 7/23/2016 I received an E Mail from Beth, She had briefly said that she was at our local beach on Cape Cod and lost her wedding band… She wanted to know if I could help somehow… I called her back and said that time was of the essence. She then proceeded to tell me that actually it was both rings one being her Diamond and the other was her wedding band… I asked the usual questions but one answer I didn’t want to hear was that they had been lost for a few days already and they were leaving in a day or two for Arizona… I jumped into my truck and met them at the beach… It was around 90 degrees and extremely humid… I made a grid pattern as usual but for over an hour nothing… I asked them to re group and give me their best guess as to where they may have thought they were sitting at the time… Five minutes later I had the Platinum Wedding Band in my hand, they couldn’t believe it… I took a few pictures and told them lets get the bigger one now… ten feet away and 15 minutes later there it was on top of the sand… Wow what a beautiful Platinum set of rings… I must say I am happy to have been a part of the Return… Beth and her Husband Thad are going to wright up a little something about how they found me in the Ring Finders Directory… Stay Tuned… Here i.es the follow up from Beth West from Arizona after the ring set return…

I had the opportunity to meet Leighton Harrington on July 24, 2016. My husband, son, daughter and I were enjoying a vacation on the east coast, and arrived on Cape Cod on July 21st. We went to the beach the day after we arrived. At some point, I took both my wedding and engagement rings off and set them in my lap as I applied sunscreen. I was having a conversation with my 13-year-old daughter, got distracted, and we both popped up to go walk along the shore. Forgetting my rings were in my lap, they both fell deep into the sand without my knowledge.
It was later that evening that I realized that I didn’t know where my rings were. After 18 years of marriage, it was a really odd sensation to look down at my left hand and not see them there. I still wasn’t 100% sure that I had left them at the beach. I thought perhaps I had lost them in the rental house we were staying at. I searched high and low in the house for two days and couldn’t find them. Finally, I remembered taking them off at the beach and was sure they were probably lost forever.
That night, I Googled “Cape Cod Lost Wedding Ring” and found the http://www.theringfinders.com website. I sent an email to Leighton. I never expected to hear back from him. But lo and behold, he called me early the next morning and asked if my husband and I could meet him at the beach where I lost my rings. After about an hour of searching in the hot sun, I was ready to throw in the towel. But Leighton refused to give up, and eventually he was able to recover both of my rings!
I am so grateful to Leighton for his persistence and positive attitude. He is one of the nicest guys I’ve met in a really long time. And I’m absolutely thrilled to have my rings back. Now every time I look down at my left hand, I’m beyond grateful that we were able to find them. I can’t thank him enough.

Lost White Gold Engagement Ring Mayflower Beach Cape Cod, Ma

I got a call from Liz a rising star, on Monday morning 7/18/2016 hoping that I could help her find her lost Engagement Ring … they were out late swimming in the ocean the night before…I jumped into action immediately, because here on the east coast, we have tides to contend with… within an hour I was on the beach with 3 people that were really hoping that I could pin point the ring … ( No Pressure there…LOL )  They put me in the general area, I went to work, and literally 3 holes and only 5 minutes into the hunt there it was laying there on top of the sand … Liz, is an up and coming Star Actress from NY… She was extremely happy to have the ring back and she sent me 2 front row tickets to her play they were doing over the weekend… Thank You Liz, for letting me be the one to rejoin a special Diamond Ring back to you… A friend always Leighton..

I received this from Liz Tancredi this afternoon…
Two weeks ago, on a beautiful Thursday night complete with high tide and the full moon, some friends and I went for a midnight dip in the bay. We all worked for Cape Rep Theatre in Brewster, so this little patch of the bay, a mere stroll from the theater, is a favorite spot for all of us, even a place of nostalgia for summers past.
I run to the water, dive in, and as soon as I emerge I realize my engagement ring is no longer on my finger. I say, « Guys, not to cause any alarm but my engagement ring fell off… » next thing I know my friends Val and Amanda and diving and desperately swatting at the water and sand, to no avail. Realizing it’s useless to look for a ring at high tide in total darkness, we head back to the beach and I gather my things to head home, trying my best to stay positive, « We’ll come back at low tide! It’s just a ring! I’m fine! At least it’s in a place I love! » Of course I was so upset and holding back a waterfall of tears. I had gone swimming a dozen times with this ring on my finger! Why this time!?
While I was sulking back to the house, Lewis, another witness to the loosing, paced back out into the water so he could mark on the beach the general area of bay it must be in, and Amanda began a desperate internet search for a metal detector and what did she come across but Ring Finders!
I get up at 6am to begin my low tide search, immediately realizing there’s no way I will find it with bare eyes and hands. So I email the one and only Leighton Harrington, hoping beyond hope he decides I’m a cause worth helping. Sure enough, he calls!!! We have a window of a few more hours of low tide, in which the bay is almost devoid of water, prime searching conditions. Lewis and Amanda are back on the beach, who also couldn’t resist the urge to just keep looking. Lewis does a grid walk of the area, we jam a stick in the sand where we feel like it fell off, and we wait for our knight with a metal detector.
Leighton arrives with his gear and a positive attitude. He was so confident and upbeat I had a hard time believing him when he said, « there’s no guarantee we’ll find it. » We show him the area and had a good laugh at our plotting and stick markers. In less than 5 minutes Leighton had come across 3 spots that could be a small white gold object. The first beep was a nail, the second was an old cap, and the third beep made him stop and take off his headphones to beckon me over. « Liz, I think you’ll want to come over here. » My heart was beating out of my chest, I was so nervous! Sure enough he scoops up some sand, spreads it out, and before I see the glimmer I hear Amanda yell, « OH MY GOD! » and sure enough, a diamond ring, MY diamond ring, was in the pile of sand. We all burst into tears, hugged each other, and took a million photos. I was so ready to say goodbye to it forever, the elation of finding it was indescribable. Leighton had the tools, the knowledge, and the personality, to find the ring and make me feel like everything was going to be ok! We thanked him with tickets to our play which was closing that weekend.
Thanks to Lewis, Amanda, Val and of course, Leighton Harrington, I still have my ring, which I love now more than ever! My husband’s response to all of this, by the way, was simply, « Thank God it wasn’t your wedding band! ». As he would have taken that as a terrible omen. Liz Tancredi

Mary and Gene were enjoying a campfire in their backyard until she lost her engagement ring and wedding band.  Frantic to locate the rings, Gene searched for hours on his hands and knees.  He was able to locate the engagement ring, but the wedding band couldn’t be found.  Gene even purchased a metal detector but returned it because he was inexperienced with its operation.  Mary searched the internet for help and located the Ring Finders website.  Gene contacted me and asked if I could search their backyard.  In less than a half hour, I located the wedding band in the grass.  It was a pleasure to help this nice young couple!

Client review of service via FB « Lost Ring & Jewelry Service » page:

Every married ladies nightmare came true today when I lost my engagement ring and wedding bands on the beach! I went to lather my daughter up in spf, handed my husband my rings and he sat them on his lap. He then jumped up to grab our daughter and both rings went flying. Even worse we didn’t even notice they were gone for fifteen or so minutes later! We sifted through the surrounding sand for an hour and were googling local businesses to see if they sold or rented metal detectors to no avail. We thought we were out of luck. Thousands and thousands of dollars and all of that sentimental value was gone. My mom started googling metal detector services and found a ring finder directory. She found a man out of cape may and thought « what the hell » let me give him a call. Luck would have it that he was staying in the SAME campground as us!!! Five minutes later he was at the lake with his state of the art equipment and within minutes my rings were back on my finger. The beach erupted in clapping and cheers! Ladies, keep this gentleman’s info. You may need him one day! We can’t say thank you enough!!

Lost 14k White & Yellow Gold Ring Recovered on 6/02/16 in Lake Gaston, Boydton Va.

I recovered and returned this Lost gold wedding  ring on 6/02/16 for nice gentleman named Jason who had lost it in Lake Gaston.  I won’t go into to much detail but  the ring was recovered in about 8 feet of water in about 26 minutes.. Even though this recovery did not take long, it was a tough search as there was no visibility when diving. Even with a good light there was only 5 inches visibility. It was like diving in pitch black water. In order to locate the ring I had to go on sound and feel only as I could not see anything and the bottom was littered with trash signals. I would not recommend diving in this lake unless you are a experienced diver.   Here are some photos of the ring . It was a pleasure to help him out. And i’m glad he was able to get it back.

Platinum wedding ring lost at New Smyrna Beach, Fl. …..Found!!

  • from Sanford (Florida, United States)
Contact:

I received a call from David asking me if I could help him find his lost platinum wedding ring in the dry sand at the beach. He explained that he and his Dad were heading to a beach side restaurant and as they were coming to the wooden stairway he felt his ring slip off of his finger. He immediately stopped and began running his hands through the sand desperately hoping to find his ring—but it had completely disappeared! He looked for sometime and finally realized he needed more help and that led him to search the internet. Up popped theringfinders.com . New Smyrna Beach is only an hour drive due east so I packed up my gear and hit the road. An hour later I walked up to David and introduced myself. I could see that David had marked the area by setting out two lawn chairs and his bags around an upright wooden post. He explained what happened and then asked me a few questions. It only took a minute to set up my Whites Dual Field and then I made two swings with my detector and I got a good signal. I paused and mentioned that generally during a search I get various signals and dig other items–like pull tabs, bottle caps, coins, etc… But this signal was very strong and had a slight double beep! (Large rings occasionally give that sound!) So I dug a large scoop of sand with my homemade digger, sifter and as I shook out the sand–there in the bottom was David’s 13 year old platinum wedding ring!
It’s always an awesome feeling to help someone find their lost item–expecially one as important as a wedding ring!
