I received a call from Marqus asking if I could help find his mother’s jewelry. Her home of 30 years had burned in the Altadena fire a couple of weeks ago, and although they had gone back looking 3 times, they were unable to find much of anything. He told me that she had a lot of jewelry, and really needed to find it. I let them know I was available to help them, so we arranged a time for us to meet at the site for the search.

We met at a local fast food restaurant, and then I followed Marqus and his mother to the site. Driving through the destruction was just surreal. It looked like a movie set, and made my heart drop to know that so many people lost so much of what they worked their lives for. So many memories, all gone so fast.

When we got to the house there wasn’t much. Marqus and his mother showed me where I should look for her jewelry, and so I began a meticulous search of each area they showed me. In the first area, where she said her best jewelry was, I found among other small items, a very large clump of melted gold that had formed around one of the bed legs. In another area where the silver was stored, I was able to find a lot of it (all melted), so much that it filled a basket. In the third area, I had to break apart a wall that had fallen in to access the last area, and there I found a whole bunch of somewhat intact jewelry, I think the wall may have protected it from completely melting down. I was able to fill a plastic container with all of that jewelry which included at least 7 watches, bracelets, rings, and necklaces. After a total of about 3 hours, I was able to help provide closure for Marqus’ mom. It was a very humbling day for me.

Anniversary Gold Ring Dropped Inside a Vehicle! Charlton Heights Sherwood Park.

  • from Edmonton (Alberta, Canada)

Adele called me asking if I was able to find her anniversary ring lost between her seats in her vehicle she told me she just left her nail salon and the nail care technician told her that her ring was very loose on her finger and she said to Adele to get her ring resized  before she lost it, While Adele was driving home she stopped at a red light, she took off her ring to switch the ring over to her other finger and thats when the ring fell between her seat and disappeared after I asked Adele my usual questions I agreed to help locate her ring. The next day Adele was going on Vacation for a week so the ring stayed in her Vehicle while she was gone, in the back of her mind she kept thinking of her ring, when she arrived back home  she did a Google search how to find a lost ring in a car and found the Ringfinders webpage and contacted me. While driving to Sherwood Park I said to myself this will be an easy search and it should not take long to locate her ring, I meet Adele at her home she took me into the garage and she told me that’s her car and the ring was in it somewhere because she heard a ring Ping and ring disappeared, Adele looked for the ring also her husband spent a couple of hours removing the mats and checking everywhere with no luck. I started to check the situation out and found out the only place the ring could be was the ring had made its way through the opening in the carpet and must have ended on the floor on her vehicle and that the ping she heard. I got my bore scope camera out and carefully inserted between the carpet and the vent, check around but could not see any sign of the ring so the next thing I removed the four bolts that held the seat to the frame of the car but could not disconnect the seat completely due to the Airbags where attached and if had disconnected the seat the Air bags could deploy. I then carefully cut a slit in the carpet where the vents came through the carpet to gain more access to the vehicle frame then through the bore scope I could see her ring then I was able to reach her ring and handed her ring back to Adele. Boy was I wrong when I said to myself this was going to be an easy search in total it took me over three hours to find the ring and put her vehicle back together again. Adele and her husband were overjoyed to have the ring back on her finger once again. Thank you Adele and Nick it was a pleasure meeting you both and having a successful search.

Received a Call yesterday afternoon from Keynan in regards to his girlfriend she lost her security keys in a snow covered parking lot, after asking Keynan my usual questions I agreed to meet up with his girlfriend at the parking lot.

I meet Kelsey at the parking lot she explained to me that she was walking out of the building toward her vehicle and when she got to her vehicle she reslized that her security keys had fallen off her lanyard somewhere in the parking lot, she and her friends spent a couple of hrs looking for them with no luck.

While I was talking to Keysey next to her vehicle from the corner of my eye I spotted just the tip of the a key protruding from the snow! Kelsey was relieved to have the keys back in her possession.

That was my quickest search ever I did not have to take my detector out of my vehical.

Lost Gold Ring In Snow, Brandon, Manitoba

  • from Moose Jaw (Saskatchewan, Canada)

Karl called and said he lost his gold wedding ring in the snow when he was brushing the show off his hands on the boulevard in front of his house. He had searched the area with no luck and his wife found my name on the Ring Finders.

I made the trek 4 hours to Brandon, Manitoba, on my day off it was -24 degrees Celsius. Searching the boulevard, it was covered in 11 inches of frozen snow. After two false readings near what should be gold on the metal detector the ring was found in the ice on the road in the curb area.

Thank you, Karl, on the opportunity to find your gold wedding ring.

Mr Chester was planting some new plants in his front yard and using a post hole digger and other tools he managed to get the holes dug deep enough to hold some new soil and using his hands he began setting the first plant.  Only minutes into the planting process he felt his large gold ring slip off of his finger and he immediately picked it up, brushed it off and put it back on his finger…thinking that now he would be more careful.  Ten minutes later Mr Chester again noticed that his beautiful gold and diamond ring was not on his finger and this time he figured it had to be deep down in one of those holes he had just dug and filled.  Not wanting to totally pull up the plants and sift all the dirt, he got to thinking about other ways to locate his lost ring and that thought led him to search online for a « Ring Finder » and up popped theringfinders.com and one of my successful ring search and recovery stories.  He called me and we made plans to meet up at his place the following Saturday.  Mr Chester was 99% positive that he lost it in the dirt while planting so that is where I concentrated my efforts.  I recovered two small items of aluminum and the 3rd signal was strong and repeatable which proved to be Mr Chester’s lost gold ring!  It truly was an honor and privilege to meet Mr Chester and to be able to help him find what he thought he would never see again.

Have you lost something and need my help?  Call or text me ASAP and let’s talk!

Gold Wedding Ring Lost in Volley Ball Court at Manhattan Beach…Found and Happily Returned.

Renan contacted me right about sunset asking for help in finding his wedding ring. He had been playing volley ball when as he was striking the ball, his ring flew off of his finger. He, his wife, and friends searched for the ring, but were unable to find it. Also he was on vacation from Brazil, and was not cherishing the thought of leaving it in the USA when he returned home. I was available, and left right away.

When I arrived, it was already dark, but that is not a hindrance for a search at the beach. Renan took me over to the court, and showed me what he had done when striking the ball. I began by searching the most logical possible path the ring probably took when coming off of his hand. I searched just behind where he was standing, right where he was standing, and all the way to the other end of the court from where he was standing, and got nothing but a few pull tabs. At this time I decided to search the whole court, and 10 feet outside of it, searching both sides; nothing again. Now it was time to do a cross grid in order to insure I didn’t miss the ring because it was in a weird position. I began my cross grid on the side he was on originally, and when I got to the center of the court, which was behind and to his right (the ring was on the left hand) by 15 feet, I got a scratchy signal, dug, and scooped up a very thin gold ring. Renan’s friend came right over and identified the ring, and everyone rejoiced. He now can go home with his token of love for his wife of two years.

LOST 14k WHITE GOLD RING IN KANAPOLIS, NC…..FOUND!!

  • from Raleigh (North Carolina, United States)

Got a text from a gentleman on Friday last week, saying he had lost his wedding ring in the yard. Snow was coming in and we had to push it out until I was off work.

Drove out this morning and got the backstory. He had gone to clean out the chicken coop. He had had gloves on and as he was walking back to the building he took them off. At that point is when the ring fell off. They searched and searched and couldn’t find it.

The area that we both felt it had to have been lost in was full of 14k gold ring signals, ground was frozen and it had some ice/snow still in this area.

After about 2 hours, I finally got a good pull tab signal and look down and I could see the ring in the ice!!!

Ring Lost Raking Leaves, Recovered by Rob Ellis, Fredericksburg, VA.

  • from Fairfax (Virginia, United States)

Max texted me to help find his lost gold wedding band lost while raking leaves somewhere in his yard. Max was very interested in my metal detector, so I loaned him my spare. Most of his yard work took place in a specific area and that’s where we started the search. After about 20 minutes, I realized I needed to set up a grid for the entire yard. I set up my rope along the property line and I found the ring after only two passes!

In the open, and nobody saw it!

As you can see in the photo, the ring was barely covered by a leaf, sitting on some moss. I called Max over and pointed to the spot. When Max picked up his ring, his reaction was one of the most genuine, joyful displays of happiness I’ve witnessed finding rings.

Max’s Ring

Max immediately shared his find with his wife. On his return, Max told me how he and his wife had only been married for a short time. I do love this hobby!

Meghan contacted me on December 22 regarding her lost ring. She had been on a volley ball court at the beach when it became lost, and because she was getting ready to travel, she was unable to meet me for the search. I let her know I would be able to help, but would need as much information as possible in order to find the ring. She agreed, and began to provide what I needed.

When I got to the beach, I found what I believed was the court to search, and began. I went over much of the court, and then decided to call Meghan to make sure I had everything correct. When we spoke I found that I had been searching the court next to the one she had been on, so I switched, and withing 5 minutes, I was able to let her know the ring was safe. She told me that she would be coming back after January 4th, so we met on the 8th for the return, This ring, made from a silver French Frank was to be her future wedding ring, so it had a great sentimental value for her. I was happy to help.
