I received a call from Marlene on Christmas Eve asking if it was possible for me to find her Dad’s ring. 10 days ago he had been brushing the snow off his car with his bare hands when his ring flew off. I told her that if the ring was on the ground I would find it. She described the ring as gold, very large, and having much sentimental valve as it was a 35 year’s of service award from the automotive industry when her dad retired.

 

Today, Boxing Day morning, I meet Marlene at her condo complex and she showed me where her dad’s car had been parked that evening and also mentioned that he had been out looking for the ring a couple of times and had piled a mound of snow on the front lawn and that the ring could be there. I started my search and had Marlene move her vehicle from her parking spot so I could search that area. I found the ring where her car had been in about two inches of hard packed snow. When Marlene’s father arrived, I walked him over to where the ring was laying in the snow. The smile on his face was proof that this ring was very sentimental for him. He and his daughter were extremely pleased to have the ring back.  Although Aron declined to have his picture taken with his ring for our “book of smiles”, he did give permission to have his ring published. Key ring lost in snow in Evanston, IL. Found for owner

Received a call about keys that had been lost in snow. Actually wasn’t sure if  that was  the case. Could have been lost else ware. Husband was using a snow blower. About 10 minutes later I found them in the snow bank. Used my CTX 3030. image image image

Diamond ring found for owner in Andersonville area in Chicago

imageimageReceived a text message at 7:30AM from the husband. Wife lost her ring while dusting off snow from her pants leg. They looked for 2 days with many people helping her. She was very worried. T searched the area w here she thought it had gone. Nothing. Lots of people had tried to find it unsuccessfully. I used my standard CTX coil. Nothing. I switched to my smaller coil and went close to a car parked on the corner. BINGO! The car had blocked signal to my standard coil.

Gold bracelet found for owner in Glenview, IL

While shoveling snow the owner lost 1/2 of his gold bracelet. This bracelet came unscrewed and fell off. His wife has the same bracelet.

The owner rented a detector but was unable to find it. I was the last resort. He had given up hope of finding it. I came out and searched in the late afternoon…nothing! I told him I would come back the next day. I took readings of the one part. They were all over the place!  Depending if the item was flat or on its side. No consistent read or sound.

I searched with all three coils and gridded the area several times. Because of the metal edging of the walkway I suggested that we use salt or water to melt the snow around the metal edging.

BINGO!!

Lost Wedding Ring Found Millwoods Edmonton Alberta.

I received a call from Judy this evening around 6 pm asking if I could find her wedding ring that she lost the night before while she was throwing ice melt on her sidewalk. I said if it was in her yard I would find it.

I met up with Judy at her home and she showed me where she had been throwing the ice melt. I turned one my trusty spectra V3i on and with 15 feet of where Judy was standing I found her white gold wedding ring buried in 3 inches of snow. She was very happy when I called her over and showed her where her ring was. Thank you, Judy.

Thank you for contacting me, when I hear about these type of losses, I often recommend waiting for up to 72 hours, as the rings in these situations tend to show up on their own.

If that time has passed, and the ring is still missing from your home, you have to ask yourself these real questions.

1. Who has had access to the ring since you last remember seeing it. This list would include friends, family, service persons, etc?

2. Have you checked all the obvious places like your pockets, laundry basket, behind dressers, beds, etc?

3. Check the vacuum cleaner bag

4. Could the ring have bypassed any drain guard in any sink? If yes, you need to check the drain pipe traps.

MOST of my expertise in locating missing items (rings) is by utilizing the latest technology in metal detecting equipment.  This work is traditional done in an outdoor environment.  I have assisted people on these types of jobs before, sometimes a clean set of eyes can be a factor, but we need to focus on the fact that your ring did not disappear on its own.

Professionally, I often tell people to sit down and write out their daily activities of the day in question. This act often creates a recall we might not have had just thinking about the particular day or incident.

“40 years on my finger” (Less 3 months) for a Yarmouth, MA man’s wedding band

August was a fine month for boating and beach going. The only moment that was a downer was when Stan’s ring slipped from his finger while mooring his boat on the BassRiver. The spot had been one of his favorite places to watch other boaters and the surrounding homes.

October came and Stan read about TheRingFinders in an article about Rick returning two class rings. What the heck, he had nothing to loose and he called Rick. A meeting was set for the next weekend.

On the last day of November at 1pm. Stan, Rick’s friend Dick and Rick were ready to walk to the location of the ring’s loss and start searching. The river’s current was running fast and it was about 2 hours before low tide. Dick started the search above the high tide mark while Rick started searching at the water’s edge. Each worked down the sandy slope so their machines would not interfere with each other. About 10 minutes into the search after only two pull tabs and one sinker Rick saw a gold ring in his scoop. A quick look to verify the date and then Stan was given the honor of taking his ring from the scoop and he immediately placed the wedding band back on the finger where it belonged. One happy ending with SMILES!

Now there was only one thing Stan was going to do and that was to get the ring re-sized.

I received a call today from Ryan and Jess regarding Ryan’s lost wedding ring.

Ryan and Jess reported Ryan was playing football in the front yard with family when

his ring flew off of his finger.

Ryan mentioned his wife Jess was not happy :), but after speaking to her she

insisted Ryan would be sleeping in-doors tonight regardless of the out-come.

Ryan reported one of his family members had located www.theringfinders.com after

his failed attempts at finding his ring.

I think you can tell from the smiles, today was a good day

I was happy very happy for Ryan and Jess, you could see the relief and happiness

in both of them when the ring was recovered.

Same ring lost twice and recovered twice Arlington Heights,IL

imageimagePerhaps this ring looks familiar! It should . I posted it about july 12th 2012 when I first found it in the garden for a customer. Well, today I received another call from the same customer. This time the ring came off while hanging Christmas lights. Ironically, it was found about 3 feet away from where I found it last year!
Maybe I should consider a package discount. 😉

Lost Texas A&M Class Ring Woodlands, Texas (Recovered)

Hi John,

I work for The Woodlands Township in The Woodlands and I supervise the
boathouse next to the woodlands mall. Today at work, my worst nightmare
happened. I went to shake someone’s hand and they pulled my ring off and it
bounced off the dock into the lake. It is about 4.5 to 5 ft deep where it fell
in and it is in probably a 5 by 5 ft area next to the dock.

I found you online at www.theringfinders.com when I was looking for metal

detector rentals. Is there ANY way you can help me with this. My ring is/was easily

my most prized possession.

Please, if you get a chance I would love to hear back from you with any help
you might be able to offer me.

I met Kyle this morning at the Woodlands Boat House and  Kyle gave me a first hand

account of how the ring was lost and where he believed it landed in the water.

The job appeared easy from the top side, I was thinking, I’ll jump in this tropical warm

blue water, grab the ring and job complete.

Well the water wasn’t tropical or warm and the bottom of the dock was concrete with

apparently a lot of re-enforced re-bar. I found the ring, lots of luck on this job. I was

thinking to myself, Kyle you just witnessed an early Christmas Miracle 🙂

I was really happy for him, It was clear from the beginning the Ring was very important to him.
