Lost ring recovered, Diamond Lake, Cass County Michigan

  • from Granger (Indiana, United States)

XXXXX (name to be updated) is in town for a couple weeks, visiting his parents here at their lake house.

Yesterday, in the private swim area, he was pulling a raft back to shore, walking backwards, stumbled and lost his ring in the process.

He and several of his friends tried finding it, but had no success.

I was out detecting in this lake today and just happen to launch from this site due to the public site being closed temporarily. I was wading with my kayak in tow and just happen to pass by his friends that were just hanging out in a docked pontoon nearby. One of the friends asked if that was a metal detector i had and if i could find rings. I said certainly and they went to get XXXXX, who came over and displayed how and where he lost it.

After a few minutes of searching and finding a couple pull tabs, a couple clad coins, I got a loud signal that sounded like a shallow ring sized object. I scooped the target and could see the « black » Star Wars ring in the scoop.

XXXXX was ecstatic when I said « here it is ». His friends were amazed and onlookers were also excited that it was found.

Silver Ring Lost at Santa Monica Beach, CA…Found and Happily Returned.

If you lose your ring or other metal item of value, don’t wait, time will work against you, please call as soon as possible. 310-953-5268

Katelynn called me the other day about her lost ring. She had been at the beach for a volleyball tournament when in the process of hitting the ball her ring flew off into the sand, and disappeared. Her grandmother had given her the ring 3 years prior, and she wore it every day; it meant a lot to her. We arranged to meet after the tournament was over for the search, so as to not disrupt the games.

When I got to the area, Katelynn and her friends were waiting at the volley ball court. I asked a few questions, and she showed me where she had been and what she had done, so I began my search. The court was clean of all metal. I was getting no signals whatsoever. Then I got my first signal, a silver tone, one scoop, and in my basket was Katelynn’s ring. I pulled it out for her, and she was elated. I am sure she thought it was gone forever, and I was glad to reunite her with such a sentimental item. I know she slept well that night. Love those smiles!

Katelynn sent the following testimonial:

Good Morning Steve!

Wow, what an awesome post! I can’t thank you again for taking the time and for your efforts in finding my ring. It’s hard to put into words just how much it meant. It’s not often that a stranger is so willing to show such kindness and willingness to help someone they don’t know. My ring is like my security blanket. It’s something so small, but I have with me at all times. It’s been there through it all and the second it’s not on my hand, something feels ‘off’ It was a strange feeling taking it off this Sunday before beach Volleyball, as typically I wouldn’t do that, but after learning my lesson from the previous week, I think it’ll have to start sitting the bench for games haha. I would hate for you to have to come out again and find it…while i’m positive that you would be able to do so! I’m not sure that many people are aware that a service such as the one you provide, exists so i’ll continue to rave about the convenience and helpfulness that you so kindly had shown me. Feel free to clip an excerpt for above to use as a testimony. Should you need anything else from me, please do not hesitate to reach out. I can’t thank you again Steve and think you’re doing a wonderful thing!

Warm Regards,
Katelynn

Lost Diamond Rings in Naples, Florida Found & Returned by Metal Detector

  • from Marco Island (Florida, United States)

[April 23, 2019 – Naples, Florida] Got a call from Brian’s wife who reported having lost two rings at the beach.  The rings she’s carefully guarded in her pocket were likely lost as she was tending her children and applying more sunscreen.  So, why hire a professional metal detector?  Well, several hours of searching, traffic, and sifting through the sand had only managed to broaden the search area and drive the rings deeper.  The wedding band was the first to be found.  It gave off a faint signal being buried in about 5-6 inches of sand and canted at a 45 decgree angle.  The diamond solitaire proved to be a bit more tricky.  It was found nearby, yielding only an occasional very very faint signal as it was 6-8 inches deep standing nearly straight up.  The rest is now history and another “story” added to a family’s memorable vacation in Naples, Florida.  What was once lost has been found – thank God!

Sam emailed me Thursday evening June 20th and explained that he had lost his wedding ring in the waters of Witty’s Lagoon. I arranged to search the next day. Friday morning Sam and I connected,  I met up with his wife Heather and his daughter. After a short trip down a trail we arrived at the spot. I started searching and Sam arrived, he confirmed I was in the correct area. After several pull tabs and bottle caps, I hit the target I was looking for.  After 3 attempts to scoop it up, SUCCESS!

Heather gave me a big hug and put the ring back on Sam’s finger, what an awesome day, I love my job.

Lost Rose Gold Ring with Diamond Found in Romulus Michigan

  • from Detroit (Michigan, United States)

Lady Speed Walker

The pictured lady was out on a stroll this evening and her ring came off. When I talked with her we agreed to meet and search the areas where she thought it came off. She remembers it hitting the pavement and thinking it rolled into the grass not far from her house. I searched the grass areas with the MXT from where she remembers it falling off to her house, prob 1/8 of a mile, no ring signal. Darkness was upon us and I told her I would return in the morning at sunrise. I drove off wondering if someone found it. As I got near the street corner approx. 1/4 mile from her house I saw something shining back at me as the headlights got closer. I thought it was a coin, after I stopped and approached the object it was the diamond in her 18k rose gold ring sparkling in my headlights! I couldn’t believe it! I called her and said how fast can you get to the end of the street and it seemed only a minute as she zoomed down the street and was reunited with her ring!

Wedding Ring Lost at Torrance Beach, CA…Found and Happily Returned.

I received a call late in the day yesterday regarding a wedding ring lost in the water at the beach. Steven was coming out of the water when a wave hit him in the back, and knocked his ring from his finger. It immediately disappeared in the sand and water. I let him know I would be leaving to help right away.

When I arrived the tide was close to its high point, and there were 4 foot shore break crashing right on the beach. The loss had happened a few hours before, and closer to the low end of the tide cycle. I tried to do a search, but because of the wave action, was not able to get to far in the water to do a good search, and decided to come back today when the tide was low again. I spent about 1 1/2 hours doing the search when I got a good solid signal, and dug. After I dumped the scoop and kicked the sand away, I saw the gleam of gold. I took the ring and sent an email to Steven to let him know that I was successful. We arranged a meeting at the same beach later, and I was able to give his ring back. He was very happy, and surprised that it was found. Another great smile made!

iPhone 7 Lost in Playground in Park in Torrance, CA…Found and Returned.

I had a call for a search for a lost ring in a park yesterday. The ring was eventually found at the caller’s home and was not lost at the park, but while searching the playground for the ring I found someone’s lost iPhone 7 buried in the wood chips. The phone still had a charge, and was still working, so I looked and found the last person that was called on the phone. The phone was locked, but allowed me to call that person back. It turned out the person on the other end was a friend that happened to be there at the park the day the phone was lost, so I gave him my number to forward to his friend. His friend Anthony called me today, and we arranged to meet so I could get his phone back to him.

We arranged to meet at a store about half way between our houses. Needless to say Anthony was very happy, and told me that they had searched for the phone for quite a while after the loss. I am glad I was able to help him out.
