Grandfather’s Wedding Band Lost in the Sand, Found and Returned North Myrtle Beach SC
I got a call from Sarah, with a Seattle phone number, asking if I was The Ring Finder for N. Myrtle Beach and if I could help find the silver ring she had lost. I got a few details and told her I was on my way. She said she was on 30th St and she’d send me a pin drop. I verified she was in North Myrtle beach and not Myrtle beach. Both cities have the same street numbers and to visitors it can get confusing. I grabbed my Equinox 800 and headed out, hoping I’d get her location before I got too far. North Myrtle has two 30th Avenues, one North and one South so I was driving slowly, waiting for her location. Her text came through, but the location wouldn’t come up, so I called her. I ask if she was in Cherry Grove or NMB. She said Cherry Grove and I told her I’d be there in 10 minutes. When I got there and walked out on the beach, she was standing there waiting along with 2 of her friends.
We talked for a few minutes, and she said they were on spring break from Vermont and on their way out of town. I told her « Let’s find it » and she showed me an area that was maybe 20’X5′. Turned on the Nox and started a grid search. My third line and about a minute later, I got a booming signal with a VDI of 30-32, higher than what I expected but I dug a scoop anyway. I missed it the first time but saw a glimmer of shine sticking up out of the sand. I reached down, picked up a beautiful heavy ring and held it up for her to see, asking « is this your ring. » She came running over, looked at it and said, « that’s my ring! » I asked for the story behind the ring, and she told me it belonged to her grandfather, who had passed away before she was born. She also said her father had given it to her. I asked if she had called her dad yet and she said yes. So, I took a quick picture of her holding it and sent it to her so she could forward it to you dad. Big smile and a hug with many thank Yous and Sarah and her friends were on their way.
Sarah – Thank you for trusting me and The Ring Finders to help find your lost treasure. Have a safe trip back to school.

Kelowna Lost Wedding Ring Found and Returned
Aliya called me that her husband Nathaniel had lost a Wedding Ring the previous evening, I responded right away. The Family had been having a photo shoot on Dilworth Mountain. During the photo shoot Nathaniel did not wear his wedding ring because it did not fit properly, so he borrowed his fathers ring ( who was not with them) for the shoot, unfortunately his fathers ring was also too loose, and wouldn’t you know it, he lost it. The family all searched the suspected loss location with no success, as luck would have it during their search, someone stepped on the ring and pushed it into the ground. The first sweep of my detector gave a signal, and after scraping the dirt we had fathers ring recovered. Everyone one was happy, and it saved an embarrassing conversation with father.

iPhone Dropped into Smith Lake in Arley, AL…Recovered by Ring Finder with Metal Detector and Blu3 Nemo!
Christina McCree – Ring Finder/Metal Detectorist for northern Alabama and southern/middle Tennessee…call or text ASAP, anytime 24/7…610-504-6135
It’s been a slow year so far on lost item calls. This could be a good thing — people aren’t losing stuff, or they just don’t know that a service like The Ring Finders exists.
On Friday (March 17th, 2023), my husband and I were just pulling up to our house after enjoying a nice brunch in town when I received a call from Corey. Corey explained that his girlfriend’s (Sara) iPhone had dropped into Smith Lake the evening prior. He thought the water was about 5 feet deep in that spot and it wasn’t a large search area, because of how the phone entered the water. Corey and Sara had just finished kayaking when Sara set her iPhone on a spring-loaded box on the pier. It was dark outside, and Corey didn’t know it was there. When he popped the box lid open, her phone slid off into the water. I had no other commitments that day and it was my Friday off, so I told Corey that I would gather up my gear and be on my way.
It was a one hour and 25 minute drive from my home in Harvest to the lake house in Arley, Alabama. I met up with Corey and Sara and they showed me what happened. They helped me haul my gear from my truck down to the pier. My handheld Hawkeye depth finder showed the depth to be between 5.3 to 6.5 feet depending on where I was standing around the deck box. It also showed the water temperature at 47.3 degrees Fahrenheit. A little chilly for my liking, but I had my 7mm Henderson Greenprene wetsuit, 5mm hood, 5mm gloves, and 7mm boots to keep me warm. Plus, I didn’t expect to be in the water that long since it was a phone and small search area. Then once I got into the water, I felt very comfortable in that gear.

I got geared up and hopped in the water. I could touch bottom as I got closer to the shoreline, and there were some rocks I could stand on a few feet from where the box was in the photo above. I had my Minelab Equinox 800 with the 15-inch coil. I was able to cover most of the area by where the phone would’ve slid into the water. I had a really good signal that I thought was Sara’s iPhone. There was about a foot or two drop off to that signal from where I was standing. However, I had trouble descending because I was too buoyant. I’ve dove with the Greenprene wetsuit before, but I had my BCD on that time. This time, I wasn’t using my BCD, so I needed to add more weight. This took a couple of attempts to get closer to being neutrally buoyant. I tried diving on that signal again, but had trouble staying down long enough to check it, because I needed just a little more weight. While I had a wrist mounted dive light, the visibility wasn’t the greatest and the phone was in a black case. I was hoping that I could just free dive and recover the phone, but decided to break out my Blu3 Nemo dive system, so that I could take my time to locate the signal while I was submerged.
We got the Nemo setup, and I relocated the signal. I made my descent and was able to hold onto a rock to keep my position steady. I searched around with my flashlight, fanned away some silt, and thought I caught sight of a phone. I grabbed it and sure enough, I had Sara’s iPhone in hand!!! I immediately thanked the Lord! I resurfaced and waved the phone for everyone to see. Big smiles and cheering all around! Sara and Corey were so happy and thankful for the recovery!
Corey helped me out of the lake. I took off the wetsuit and grabbed some dry clothes to change into. We all headed up to the lake house to warm up. Corey’s mom, Hilary, was there along with Corey’s brother and sister. We all enjoyed some friendly conversation before heading back down to the pier. We took some photos and packed up my gear. Sara now had her iPhone back, including the sim card that contained all of her cherished memories — pictures, videos, and other important data.
Thank you, God, for another successful recovery and safe trip! As I always say, I love getting to go on these adventures, hear everyone’s story, and find/return these precious items to people! Best job and feeling in the world!!! Proud to be a member of Chris Turner’s, The Ring Finders, and looking forward to the next adventure…

Gold Wedding Ring Lost in a Irvine, CA. City Park .. Recovered in the Grass by a Ringfinder

*** Ben and his family had a birthday party for his daughter at a local park in Irvine, CA. He didn’t notice his gold wedding ring missing till after they returned home. The next morning he went back to the park searching the grass. After a couple hours, Ben went to the internet for ideas about searching for a ring in the grass.
He found TheRingFinders website where he used my contact information to call me. After a short conversation where he said he was at the location now. I said if he could wait a there, I could meet him within 30 minutes. He agreed and I was on my way to the park that was less than 5 miles from where I live.
Meeting Ben on the lawn area of the park, he showed me where he thought the loss occurred. I started a grid search using a metal detector set up for gold ring that should be less than 2” or 3” deep in the grass. Fifteen minutes later he came over to me saying this was not the actual area where they had been yesterday.
I started in the new search location 50 ft. to the north and within 20 minutes I received the magic signal that was Ben’s gold ring deep at the base of the grass, totally out of site. He and his wife were so grateful to have such a sentimental ring that he has worn everyday for 23 years.
LOST PLATINUM WEDDING RING in WILSON, NC…….. FOUND!!!
Got a referral from Dave Oliver about this lost platinum ring that has been lost since July of 2022. I called up Mr. Singh and got the back story. Turns out his wife worked many hours making minimum wage saving every penny to buy this ring for her husband. It had great sentimental value to the Singh’s. They’ve been married for 17 years! So last July, he was mowing and got into some yellow jackets. In the process of running back towards the house and swatting bees his ring flew off in the yard, but he wasn’t sure where he lost because he didn’t realize it for over 3 hours! I started in that area and in about 20 mins, I get a signal and boom there it was about 2 inches down. After finding it and walking back to my truck to put my equipment away, I see him coming out into the garage. He asked me, “DID YOU FIND IT!” I said, “YES SIR” as I held up my finger with it on my hand. He broke down crying!! The wife comes out and she breaks down crying too. We sat and just talked about things for about another hour and one thing he said that is so true and makes you think. He was saying to his wife life moves fast, so fast that all you can do is take mental pictures as your life flies by. He told me he said to his wife that after everything in life is gone. The house, car, kids grown and moved out. The one thing he wanted to do was sit on the porch looking back at his life while feeling this ring on his hand. The ring she worked so hard to buy for him and their love for one another and their marriage together. ![]()

Rings lost in Calgary’s snow- They Can be Found
Had a call out from Mike. He had been working beside the house on a cold snowy day. When it happened, he felt it go and heard it hit. His ring was gone and he just couldn’t figure out where. He could have waited until the snow melted, but having it back meant one less thing to be thinking about. So he called me and had it back in a very short time.
