Zaki contacted me after having lost his ring playing volley ball at the beach. He told me he couldn’t meet there, but would let me know where he had been playing. So to not let too much time elapse, I went to do the search immediately.

After going by Zaki’s instructions I was able to find the exact court he had been playing on, and began my search in the area he believed the ring to be lost. It took not more than 10 minutes before I was able to locate the ring. I let him know I had it, and then drove it over to where he was to return it. He was very happy to have it back.

Eric contacted me concerning his lost wedding ring. He had been at the beach playing fetch with his dog, when switching hands, he threw the toy with his left hand, and his ring was gone, I was ready to get my equipment together and get to the beach to help him.

When I got there Eric saw me, and waved me over. We then walked over to the area of the loss. It was sizable because the dog had been very active. Also He had a detector of his own, but was unable to find the ring. I began my search one grid line at a time. When I had just about finished the second line, I got a very nice signal in the head phones, dug, and had Eric’s ring. He then told me how it was his grandfather’s ring handed down to him, so the sentimentality was off the charts. Also he had only been married for a month, and for that reason alone the ring had to be found. LOL! Eric was very happy to have the ring back, and I was happy to been able to help him.

Erin called with an air of desperation having lost her keys in the sand at the beach, they included car and house keys. I was ready and available, and let her know that I would leave immediately to help her.

When I got to the beach, Erin found me, and took me over to the spot where she believed them to have been lost. As a professional photographer she had been taking family photos for five different families that morning, and had been very busy, not noticing the loss. The area she showed me was pretty big, but going low and slow, and with a tight grid it would be no problem. I worked one way from the middle, pass after pass, making sure to cover every inch of sand. After about 8 passes, and almost outside of the shown area, I got a strong signal, dug, and had her keys. She wasn’t looking when I found them, and as I walked them over to her, she turned seeing them and was overcome by emotion. She told me that the last 2 weeks had been very tough for her, and losing the keys just seemed like it was breaking the camel’s back. Not to mention, she had another photo shoot lined up, and without the car key she would have made it. I am so glad I was able to make her day. Her smile says it all.

Ana called explaining that she had lost her ring while at the beach, and was not able to find it. I let her know that I would be able to help, and was available, so I packed up my gear, and was on my way.

When I got to the beach I found Ana quickly, and she showed me where she lost her ring. The area was not real large, but as I began, there seemed to be a lot of metal in the area, probably because it was right next to a beach entrance. It seemed as though I could not move 2 inches before I had to dig something, because I was getting many signals. The one thing I have learned in this service is that a person has to have patience and perseverance, so I kept at it digging and digging. I finally came upon Ana’s ring, and we were both very happy. Pretty ring, and happiness all around.

Brook called me for help. She had been getting her beach materials ready to leave when with the flick of her wrist her ring was lost in the sand. She had searched diligently, yet was unable to find it. I was able to go to help, even though it was getting late.

When I arrived, it was dark, and we were the only ones on that lonely beach. She showed me the area where she had marked it, and in the light of my headlight, I was able to see where she had been searching. I began my search, and searched the whole area with no luck. She had never left the beach, so the ring had to still be there. It was time to expand the search, and about 10 feet away from the original area I got a good signal, dug, and had a very pretty ring in the scoop. I showed her and she was very happy because it had been given to her. When we walked up to the highway, I said I would walk her to her car. She told me she was going to call for an UBER, so because it was extremely dark there, and there are a lot of homeless in the area I let her know I would wait with her until the UBER came. Then she asked if I could take her to the Metro train depot in Santa Monica about 10 miles away, which I said I would be happy to do for her safety. Great smile!

Tray contacted me concerning his ring. He was on vacation from New York visiting a local beach,, when while goofing around, his ring came off, and was lost in the sand. I was available, and let him know I would come right away to do a search for him.

When I arrived I was able to get with Tray, and he showed me the area explaining what he had done to cause the loss. I turned on my detector, and within 5 minutes was able to reunite Tray with his ring which made his day because he was scheduled to return to New York withing a couple of hours. A close call, but happily resolved.

It was around 5:30 PM, and my wife was preparing our dinner when I received a call from Chris. He had Just lost his wedding ring about 30 minutes ago while throwing a football to his friend, and was unable to find it. He was wondering if I would be able to help. I let him know that I could be there in about 30 -40 minutes to do the search so I asked my wife to put the meal on hold, and left for the beach to help Chris.

When I got there it didn’t take long to find them, and Chris’ buddy took me over to show me where the loss occurred. Chris came over to show me exactly what he had done to cause the loss. and I readied my equipment to begin the search. I searched the whole area in a tight grid with no results for his ring. I did find a ring though, and a couple of earrings, some coins and a lot of trash metal. I then worked out of the box, and widened the search area in order to cover any possibility; still no ring. I then told Chris I was going to do a cross grid in order to make sure that maybe the ring was turned in such a way, it wasn’t heard by my detector going in the other direction. After about 5 passes, I received a solid signal, dug and had his ring in the scoop. I brought it over to him to his surprise, and happiness. Sometimes a ring will go into the sand a such an angle that it is indiscernible going in one direction, you have to search at a right angle to the original direction to make the find. Just a little patience and determination is what it takes. It was about 8:00 PM when the recovery was made. So I got on the phone, and asked my wife to heat up our dinner, as I would be home soon. I am glad she is so understanding.

Robin called asking for help in searching a family property after the Altadena fire.

When I arrived she took me to the area she believed some missing jewelry should’ve fallen. The problem was that there was an old 400-500 pound cast iron bathtub sitting on the spot. There was a pipe in the backyard that I was able to anchor a come-along to, and then stretch a strap over to the tub. At that point, moving the tub out of the way became an easy assignment. After moving the tub, I was able to find 3 rings (one broken), and 1 pendant.

Robin felt satisfied that the area was searched well.

Maria called wanting to try and recover some items lost in the Altadena fire. There was one item she was most interested in recovering her mother had given her many years back, and it was a Gold coin that was made into a pendant. I did the search sifting out a large area where she believed everything must have gone. I found the pendant and very excitedly took it over to show her.

The total of finds for the day was :

  1. One large gold coin pendant
  2. 27 large silver coins
  3.  3 rings
  4.  1 chain

You can see by my picture, just how much this kind of work takes out of you. This was about 4 hours of straight sifting to find these items. Yet to see how emotional she was to have these back, made it all worthwhile.

Tatyana called me explaining how she had lost her ring after being hit by a wave at the beach. I looked at the tide chart, and realized the tide was coming in, so the opportunity for a search in the water this day was gone. We arranged to meet the next day as the tide was receding in order to have the best chance of a recovery.

When I got to the beach we found each other quickly, and Tatyana led me over to the area of the loss. She explained what had happened, and pointed out the specific area I should search. I began on the wet sand outside of the water thinking maybe the tide had gone out enough to find the ring. It wasn’t going to happen that way, so I began to search in the water finding a few pieces of trash metal. I began to come out of the water on one pass, and received a whisper of a signal in the headphones and dug, when I dumped the sand and kicked it, I saw the glimmer of gold, reached down, and had Tatyana’s ring. She had her back to me when this happened, so I walked over to her with my hand outstretched holding the ring. When she saw it she became very emotional. It was then she told me how her father had this ring custom made for her, and had passed away just this last March. This was a very important recovery for her because of the memory of her father. So glad I was able to help.
