Got a message from a lady who’s husband had lost his titanium wedding ring last summer while mowing. He took it off and put it in his pants pocket. When he got done mowing it wasn’t there anymore.

iPhone Dropped into Smith Lake in Arley, AL…Recovered by Ring Finder with Metal Detector and Blu3 Nemo!

Christina McCree – Ring Finder/Metal Detectorist for northern Alabama and southern/middle Tennessee…call or text ASAP, anytime 24/7…610-504-6135

It’s been a slow year so far on lost item calls.  This could be a good thing — people aren’t losing stuff, or they just don’t know that a service like The Ring Finders exists.

On Friday (March 17th, 2023), my husband and I were just pulling up to our house after enjoying a nice brunch in town when I received a call from Corey.  Corey explained that his girlfriend’s (Sara) iPhone had dropped into Smith Lake the evening prior.  He thought the water was about 5 feet deep in that spot and it wasn’t a large search area, because of how the phone entered the water.  Corey and Sara had just finished kayaking when Sara set her iPhone on a spring-loaded box on the pier.  It was dark outside, and Corey didn’t know it was there.  When he popped the box lid open, her phone slid off into the water.  I had no other commitments that day and it was my Friday off, so I told Corey that I would gather up my gear and be on my way.

It was a one hour and 25 minute drive from my home in Harvest to the lake house in Arley, Alabama.  I met up with Corey and Sara and they showed me what happened.  They helped me haul my gear from my truck down to the pier.  My handheld Hawkeye depth finder showed the depth to be between 5.3 to 6.5 feet depending on where I was standing around the deck box.  It also showed the water temperature at 47.3 degrees Fahrenheit.  A little chilly for my liking, but I had my 7mm Henderson Greenprene wetsuit, 5mm hood, 5mm gloves, and 7mm boots to keep me warm.  Plus, I didn’t expect to be in the water that long since it was a phone and small search area.  Then once I got into the water, I felt very comfortable in that gear.

I got geared up and hopped in the water.  I could touch bottom as I got closer to the shoreline, and there were some rocks I could stand on a few feet from where the box was in the photo above.  I had my Minelab Equinox 800 with the 15-inch coil.  I was able to cover most of the area by where the phone would’ve slid into the water.  I had a really good signal that I thought was Sara’s iPhone.  There was about a foot or two drop off to that signal from where I was standing.  However, I had trouble descending because I was too buoyant.  I’ve dove with the Greenprene wetsuit before, but I had my BCD on that time.  This time, I wasn’t using my BCD, so I needed to add more weight.  This took a couple of attempts to get closer to being neutrally buoyant.  I tried diving on that signal again, but had trouble staying down long enough to check it, because I needed just a little more weight.  While I had a wrist mounted dive light, the visibility wasn’t the greatest and the phone was in a black case.  I was hoping that I could just free dive and recover the phone, but decided to break out my Blu3 Nemo dive system, so that I could take my time to locate the signal while I was submerged.

We got the Nemo setup, and I relocated the signal.  I made my descent and was able to hold onto a rock to keep my position steady.  I searched around with my flashlight, fanned away some silt, and thought I caught sight of a phone.  I grabbed it and sure enough, I had Sara’s iPhone in hand!!!  I immediately thanked the Lord!  I resurfaced and waved the phone for everyone to see.  Big smiles and cheering all around!  Sara and Corey were so happy and thankful for the recovery!

Corey helped me out of the lake.  I took off the wetsuit and grabbed some dry clothes to change into.  We all headed up to the lake house to warm up.  Corey’s mom, Hilary, was there along with Corey’s brother and sister.  We all enjoyed some friendly conversation before heading back down to the pier.  We took some photos and packed up my gear.  Sara now had her iPhone back, including the sim card that contained all of her cherished memories — pictures, videos, and other important data.

Thank you, God, for another successful recovery and safe trip!  As I always say, I love getting to go on these adventures, hear everyone’s story, and find/return these precious items to people!  Best job and feeling in the world!!!  Proud to be a member of Chris Turner’s, The Ring Finders, and looking forward to the next adventure…

I received a call from some vacationers enjoying South Beach who had just lost their Diamond wedding rings.  She had placed them in her towel and went to dry off and prooof, they were gone, eating by the sand.  She tried for hours to sift for them but I told her that would only make them go deeper and make them harder to find.  So I raced over there and within seconds I was able to find both rings!!  If you have lost some jewelry on the beach or anywhere else, in or out of the water, please give me a call LOUIS 305-608-1870 I have been metal detecting for almost 15 years, let me help you recover your lost treasure.

LOST PLATINUM WEDDING RING in WILSON, NC…….. FOUND!!!

  • from Fayetteville (North Carolina, United States)

Got a referral from Dave Oliver about this lost platinum ring that has been lost since July of 2022. I called up Mr. Singh and got the back story. Turns out his wife worked many hours making minimum wage saving every penny to buy this ring for her husband. It had great sentimental value to the Singh’s. They’ve been married for 17 years! So last July, he was mowing and got into some yellow jackets. In the process of running back towards the house and swatting bees his ring flew off in the yard, but he wasn’t sure where he lost because he didn’t realize it for over 3 hours! I started in that area and in about 20 mins, I get a signal and boom there it was about 2 inches down. After finding it and walking back to my truck to put my equipment away, I see him coming out into the garage. He asked me, “DID YOU FIND IT!” I said, “YES SIR” as I held up my finger with it on my hand. He broke down crying!! The wife comes out and she breaks down crying too. We sat and just talked about things for about another hour and one thing he said that is so true and makes you think. He was saying to his wife life moves fast, so fast that all you can do is take mental pictures as your life flies by. He told me he said to his wife that after everything in life is gone. The house, car, kids grown and moved out. The one thing he wanted to do was sit on the porch looking back at his life while feeling this ring on his hand. The ring she worked so hard to buy for him and their love for one another and their marriage together. 😢😢

Watch the SeattleRingHunter recover a set of lost keys from the tall grass.

March 2023 a gentleman called asking for assistance in searching for his lost keys. He had been walking the night before and stumbled on the curb after crossing the street. He fell to the ground into some tall grass bushes that fortunately cushion his fall so he didn’t sustain any injuries.  However after walking down the sidewalk a few moments later he checked his coat pocket and noticed his keys were no longer with him. The grass being very tall easily obscured the keys from view making his visual search unsuccessful.

When I met the gentleman on site we reconstructed the chain of events allowing me to identify the drop zone. After a few quick passes of my metal detector I was able to quickly recover his keys beneath a patch  of tall grass. He was very much appreciative to have them back in his hands and quite shocked how quickly they were located after having spent quite some time searching two separate areas. I told him not to be disappointed on his efforts as this happens all the time. By working with an experienced Lost Item Recovery Specialist its not only our technology that we bring but our years of experience in having worked and studied so many of these lost item cases. With this experience we have developed a keen since in asking the correct investigative questions that tend to guide us many times to the best areas to focus our physical search efforts.

Before he went on his way two suggestions were offered to mitigate a future reoccurrence. I suggested he find a clip of any kind and secure the key ring to his clothing or pack. Also the by adding an Apple AirTag tracker to his key chain since he has an iPhone would be extremely beneficial.  A very nice guy and I believe he will secure his keys moving forward. We are happy he was not injured in his fall and wish him all the best.

Watch the video to see how quickly this lost set of keys was located from the tall grass.

Received a call today from Tim after he lost his tantalum wedding ring while playing with his dog in a grassy area. He and his wife tried to find it for hours!!! He even marked the exact location with a wooden stick! After he couldn’t find it, he thought about buying a detector, but instead found me on the ring finders and gave me a call.
After I get there. We walk about 400 yards to the area where he lost it. After about 15-20 mins I get a high tone. It was less than 3 feet from the marker he had stuck in the ground.

Watch the SeattleRingHunter recover a white gold diamond wedding band tossed out with the grass clippings!

Like share and subscribe…

April 2022 Scott contacted me asking if I could do a search for his lost white gold wedding band in Pe Ell,  WA. Scott told me his wedding band was loose fitting so much that he had been using a ring sizer. A few days prior he had been cutting grass. After cutting the grass he went out to dump several bags of grass clippings. Just prior he had noticed his wedding bad was slipping so he did adjust it. He did admit he may have gotten a little distracted in conversation with his brother-in-law. Shortly after making it back to the house and washing up he realized his wedding ring was no longer with him.

Watch this episode of Seattle Ring Hunter Lost Item Recovery to see the recovery of Scott’s wedding band. Never give up hope…

Ring lost in Torrey Hills San Diego found

  • from La Jolla (California, United States)

I received a call from Linda saying that her husband Terry had lost his wedding ring outside their apartment the night before. They had searched for it for hours without success, so, they needed help. An online search brought them to TheRingFinders.com and my contact info. With a narrow weather opening between storms, I met them at their apartment and got the story behind the ring’s loss. Terry had just left their upper floor apartment and noticed some soap on his hand. As he reached the top of the stairway, He removed his ring to wipe his fingers and his ring decided to take a 3 story leap off the open stairwell to an unknown fate below. He heard a ping as the ring hit something on it’s way down through several flights and landings until it reached the concrete bottom level with surrounding landscaping. The landscaping consisted of bushes of various heights and densities, bark, leaves, grass, and the typical metal trash that you get around walks and stairways. To add to the challenge, the building and concrete areas  have rebar, flashing, and other metal items to work around. A quick search with the big coil failed to come up with the ring, so, I changed to the 6″ coil and my pin pointer to get into tighter areas that the big coil won’t reach. After a while and several junk targets giving us false hope, I got a another similar low signal with my Equinox 900 deep under a bush. The pin pointer was singing, but, I still couldn’t see the target until I started to remove some dead leaves and saw a flash of gold. Yes! Success! Linda was first to notice my triumphant response, gave me an emotional and appreciative hug, and went inside to tell a very happy Terry. A pleasure to meet you both and thank you for the reward.
