Ring lost in Ocean Beach found

Montague contacted me about a ring his wife lost in the water at Ocean Beach. She had been in waist deep water holding their daughter when her family heirloom rose gold ring slipped off and into the surf. In looking at the tide chart, Montague agreed to meet me there at 1am for the low tide and a better shot at finding the ring. Being Saturday night, there was still lots of people partying and parking was still a problem, but, we eventually met and proceeded to the search area. Running a grid pattern from lower slope into knee deep water didn’t produce the ring, so, after re-evaluating where she was probably standing, I moved higher up on the slope. After a few more passes, I got a much higher reading than a rose gold ring should produce, but, I like to remove all targets to reduce the chance of them masking the signal I expect to receive. I scooped down, and pulled up a ring, but, as I suspected, it was a silver ring. Well, it turns out that was a second ring that she dropped into the water! Another search of the immediate area produced the nice low tone that I was hoping to hear, and the rose gold ring was in my scoop. A happy Montague now got to head home and bring the good news with him. A pleasure to meet you Montague and thank you for the reward.

Lost ring in Coronado found.

Patrick and his family spent the day at the beach in Coronado. Toward the end of the day, he went to brush some sand off his hands, and his platinum wedding band was brushed into the beach as well. The good thing was, that they knew where in the area it should be, and they didn’t leave until they could get help. When I got the call, I grabbed my gear and headed straight over. We managed to find each other in the dark by meeting  by one of the lifeguard kiosks, and then proceeded to the search area. They cleared their gear away so I could sweep the area. 10 seconds, two steps later, and first target, I had Patrick’s ring in the scoop! If only all of the hunts could be this easy. A pleasure to meet you Patrick and thank you for the reward.

Ring lost at Ocean Beach found

Lorena was visiting town and enjoying Ocean Beach with some friends and placed her ring in the cup holder of her chair. Time to leave, the chair got folded up, and the ring ended up in the dry sand. A common way rings get lost. Searching was fruitless and Lorena had to go back home up north. She contacted me to ask for my help in finding it. She had planned on returning the next morning to show me the search area, but, having already been a full day on the loose, I had her give me directions as to where she was when the ring fell into the sand. She did better than that. She had some photos that were taken while she was there in that location. Knowing that beach well, I could find that spot fairly easily. Finding the ring might be another thing! I waited until the sun went down so I could actually find a parking spot on a Saturday night. Not easy, but, I lucked into one. The beach was still mobbed with party goers. I made a beeline west toward the water and straight through the middle of search area. Before I got there, I see another guy detecting right through where I planned to search. He didn’t stop for any targets, so, i began my grid. Off to the right was a large group still camped on the beach, so, I started on the left. Made a dozen passes or so without so much as a pull tab. Not a good sign. Somebody (maybe the guy who I first saw) had already scoured the area? At that point, the crowd on the right was picking up and leaving. Great, I can now search the other side before I try to track down the other detectorist to see if he may have found the ring. Still not much in the way of targets until I made 5-6 passes and got a solid 6 on my Equinox. That’s usually a foil drink seal, but, I scooped it anyway as small gold can read in that range. Sure enough, a drink seal. Drat! Moved another 2 feet and got another solid 6 reading. Another juice seal I bet, was what I was thinking, but, after scooping it up, I discovered her ring! As I surveyed the spot I found it, I realized that the other detectorist had missed it by no more than a couple of feet! I texted Lorena that she would have to come back down to San Diego after all, but, instead of having to show me where the search area would be, she could pick up her ring. Engagement Ring Lost On Kure Beach, NC Found With Metal Detector

Bailey was spending a fun evening on Kure Beach with her family.  Bailey is also planning a September wedding.  She was asked to perform a cartwheel in the sand.  Before the attempt, she gave her engagement ring to her younger sister for safe keeping.   During the excitement and festivities, the ring slipped off of little sister’s hand into the sand.  Both sisters were very upset.  The following morning I get a call from Bailey’s father.  He explained what had happened and plans were made to meet just afternoon.   When I pulled the first target, a red can top, Dad yelled that I had found it!  I think that helped ease the stress levels.  Unfortunately, my 2nd target a silver can top gave Bailey false hopes it was her ring.   The 3rd target was the one we all had hope to recover!   The excitement & tears made the 2 hour drive to their location all worth while!

Lost Wedding Ring Found in Leesburg Virginia Basement

I received a call from a young man named Zemraan in Leesburg Virginia whose mother had lost her wedding ring inside the house. She was very frantic to locate her precious wedding ring and asked her son to try to find someone who could help locate the ring. I don’t typically get many calls for inside searches but since it was close I figured I give them a visit. After arriving at the home her son Zemraan told me that he had picked up the rings to bring to his mother upstairs and shortly afterwards she realized one was missing. He took me downstairs to the basement where two bedrooms were setup. I initially scanned the Mom’s room and searched every inch of the bedroom and with no luck, then I moved to the next bedroom which was at the bottom of the stairway. After about 40 minutes of searching every crevice, floor molding crack, in/around, and under ever object the ring was found. Very Happy Customer!!

Palladium wedding band found in Glen Arbor, Michigan

I got a call from Rocky needing help finding his Palladium wedding ring. He was in shoulder deep water in Lake Michigan and felt his ring slip off his finger. We agreed to meet Friday morning at 9:00am.

I asked the normal questions when we first met. We marked off an area 50 feet wide by 70 feet long in the water. Rocky is 6 foot 5 I’m 5 foot 8. I searched out as deep as I could go then handed Rocky my Excalibur II. Rocky searched the deeper area I could not reach. We had no luck in finding the ring, so I started searching shallower all the way to the shoreline. I could tell Rocky was getting discouraged so I had him go search the condo to keep his mind busy. Ended up grid searching the 50 by 70 foot area twice from two different directions and did not find the ring. This took 5 1/2 hours to grid search the area twice.

After the 5 1/2 hours in the water I was whooped and ready to call it a day. Rocky just happened to walk back down to the beach. I had already had a couple conversations with him about what had happened. He stated his ring has never fallen off before and was not loose. I told him again something physical happened to cause the ring to slip off. He was still sticking to the story of having the feeling of his ring coming off his finger. I told him if he wanted his ring back he needed to trust me 100 percent. I told him that people are stressed when they find out there ring is gone and that moment is burned into there brain that is where the ring is at. I told him your mind plays games with you and we need to turn this into process of elimination. That something physical happened to cause the ring to come off. He thought about it for a couple minutes then said I trust you. Then I asked him what else has happened the last couple days.

He said well, I fell out of a Kayak a couple day ago up the river. He said he did not tell me about it because there is no way he went 1 1/2 days without his ring and not notice it missing. I told him we need to go to the spot he fell in asap. We paddled up to the spot then I fell out of the kayak in the same spot. When I stood up I saw a shinny round looking object on the bottom. I turned on the Excalibur II to make sure it was metal. I got a really loud nice signal. Bent down picked it up and handed him his ring. His reaction was about 8 NOWAY!’s On the paddle back down river I heard him ask himself how he went 1 1/2 days without noticing his ring missing.

Happiness Returns

While playing with her daughter in the water at the lake happiness was very high that day, only to realize her husband’s wedding set had slipped off and feelings got a little low.  We were able to search the designated area and locate the rings which had sunk from being stepped on.  Yes, happiness returns with a great big smile. Cedar Creek Lake -The most beautiful rose gold ring I’ve ever seen.

After a lot of searching by friends without any luck, we were called to help locate this beautiful ring in the lake next to a boat dock. The reason the well-meaning friends weren’t able to find it is b/c someone stepped on it thus sinking it an additional 4-5 inches; thru the mud and the muck, Don was able to dig down and retrieve it.  Allows for a wonderful ending to a fun holiday weekend.
