Lost Engagement Ring Gurley, AL…Found!

  • from Huntsville (Alabama, United States)

I had my first search as a Ring Finder today, and I’m happy to report that it was a success!!!

I received a call from Ginger this morning (Saturday, 16 February 2019).  She told me that she had lost her gold engagement ring on Wednesday (cold and rainy day) and that she’s had that ring for 34 years.  I’m 32, so she’s had that ring 2 years longer than I’ve been alive!  I knew I had to find it.  I grabbed my gear and headed her way.

I arrived at her farm in Gurley, Alabama.  Ginger explained that she had rented a metal detector and spent numerous hours trying to find her ring.  With no luck, she went on Craigslist to post an ad for help.  She saw my posting on there (which I had just renewed yesterday) for the Ring Finders.  Ginger told me that her ring meant a lot to her and she was devastated that it was lost.  She recently had it repaired and it was weighting heavier than before.  She showed me 2 spots that she thought it could’ve fallen off and I got to work.

The first area I searched was where she had tossed a tape measure.  Ginger had actually grabbed a bolt and reenacted the throw a few times before I got there.  I setup a grid and searched that area for about an hour, but no ring.

We moved on to the next spot, which was by a few hay bales that Ginger was working around.  She had moved a tarp off of the bales and was standing on top of one of the bales to help move a few.  I detected along her path there.  Next, I started detecting the sides and top of the bales.  I got a great signal on the top of the right hay bale.  I pulled out my pin pointer, started scanning, and saw that beautiful gold on gold — her lost engagement ring!!!  We were both so excited and Ginger was very happy to have her ring back!  It was such an awesome feeling to be able to reunite Ginger with her lost engagement ring!  Total search time was about 1 hour and 15 minutes.

Ginger, it was a real pleasure to find your ring, and thank you for calling the Ring Finders!!!  As Chris Turner always says, I love my job!  I agree 100%

Lost Gold Wedding Band in Surrey/Langley…Found!

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

Victim #3 (Lost Ring) due to recent snow storm… I got another call from Royal who told me that he possibly lost his ring while he was scraping snow off his truck. He said there was a possibility it may have been lost in his house, but him and his wife searched his place pretty thoroughly and could not find it. He was at work when he called and asked me if there was a chance I could come down and meet him so he could show me where he was parked. It was bothering him so much at work thinking it maybe on the road somewhere.

I told him I’d come out right away to help him search for his lost ring. Anytime a ring his lost in the snow on the side of the road, its important to get there as quickly as possible to make sure the ring is not driven away by someones truck tire tread. Also you want to make sure you beat the snow plow as it can push a ring hundreds of yards down the road, into a pile of the snow.

I met Royal a short time later at his place, he showed me where his truck was parked and also where he went to another vehicle and where he walked from the house to that vehicle. I started my search where he was scraping the snow off of his work truck, still no ring. I started to grid search from the vehicle furthest away towards his truck, as I passed by the truck that he was scraping the snow off …Bang! found it. Very close to the road!

You can watch the video and see the surprise look on his face when I showed him his ring! He had already given up the thought of finding it as it was already 30 minutes into the search.

I love my job! If you lost a ring call me ASAP 778-838-3463

LOST WEDDING BAND IN LAKE CHARLES, LA. – FOUND

  • from Lafayette (Louisiana, United States)
Contact:

Susan called to ask for help in finding her husband’s lost tungsten wedding band.  It was slung off his wet finger a month before when opening their camper door. Carrie and I left the next day for the 70 mile trip. On arriving, we found the grassy search area to be small in the RV lot. We began the search of the lot. Next to the grassy area was a fenced area for a water system. Sid hunted the fenced area facing the RV. After 2 hours of searching and re-searching the yard and rock driveway, we had not found the ring. Susan, Carrie and Sid had gathered up near the rear side of the water system to discuss the next step when Carrie saw a sparkle from the rocks around the water system. In plain view laying on the rocks was the ring. Lost items are not always where you expect them to be. After the happy trio took pictures, we were on our way back home. Thank you, Susan, for your generous reward.

Lost Cell Phone… Found in Iowa City, Iowa

Contact:

We’ve been getting some snow here almost every day for a week and people are starting to lose things in it. I received a call from Zac about his lost cell phone. His friend Amy posted on her face book page about me finding her keys and so he thought he would give me a try to help find his phone.

We met on Jan. 25th in the afternoon at the park where he lost it. He had been sledding and playing in the snow when it was lost. He said he did an online search and the phone showed up in the park until the battery died.

We walked out in the snow to an area he thought we should start at. The second signal was his phone buried in the snow. He was very happy to have his phone back.

Car Keys Lost in the Snow in Moline, IL…Found

  • from Bettendorf (Iowa, United States)

I received an email last night from a young lady I will call, Nikki.  Nikki was cleaning the snow off of her car when she noticed that her keys had fallen out of her pocket.  We had just gotten nearly a foot of newly fallen snow and while Nikki searched through the snow with her hands and a rake she was unable to locate her keys.  I emailed Nikki a reply and told her that I would be out to her home in the morning and see if I could find her keys.

I arrived at Nikki’s house this morning and began my search, which was hampered by all of the rebar in her concrete driveway along with very uneven snow piled around her car.  I lowered my sensitivity quite a bit on my detector and I leveled off the snow with a shovel immediately around all sides of Nikki’s car.  The leveling off of the snow actually took longer than finding her keys as I would scan each shovel full of snow in the event that I had scooped up her keys.  Once I had a nice evened out surface of snow I found Nikki’s keys in hard packed snow on the drivers side of her car.  Nikki was at work so I delivered her keys to her at her office.  As expected, Nikki was happy to get her keys back in her possession.

Lost Diamond and Platinum earring recovered in West River, Maryland!

  • from Baltimore (Maryland, United States)
Contact:

I received a call on 1/21/19 for Holly stating she had lost one of her Platinum stud diamond earrings. Knowing there  isn’t a lot of « metal » to work with with studs, I was reluctant to have any hopes of recovering such a small item which is mainly composed of a non metal gem. Holly explained the circumstances in which she lost it and was 100% positive it was in a relatively small sandy area in her horse barn. We made plans to meet at the barn later that day. Once we met, Holly directed me to the barn and gave great detail in where she believed she was when she felt the earring come off. On the technical side of things, it was a challenging item to find being so small. Holly let me use its mate to « dial in » the sensitivity and other settings of my machine. Once I was able to hear the specific tone the item gave me, I got to work. Shortly thereafter…….

Here is the text from an email Holly sent me shortly after I left her with the lost earring in hand….

JUST CAN’T THANK YOU ENOUGH FOR FINDING MY EARRING!  I WAS VERY UPSET LOSING IT AS IT WAS A SPECIAL ANNIVERSARY PRESENT FROM MY WONDERFUL HUSBAND.  I WILL DEFINITELY RECOMMEND YOU TO ALL OF OUR FRIENDS! IF YOU DON’T MIND, I WOULD LIKE TO SHARE THIS ON MY FB PAGE?!  AGAIN THANK YOU FOR SUCH A PLEASANT EXPERIENCE FROM START TO FINISH!

WE HOPEFULLY WILL NEVER HAVE THAT HAPPEN AGAIN BUT IF WE DO, WE WILL CALL YOU FOR SURE!  THANKS AGAIN!

HOLLY AND TODD

It makes finding a lost item extra special when I get emails like that! Glad I could be of service Holly!

Lost Man’s Gold Wedding Ring in Columbus, OH. “FOUND”

  • from Newark (Ohio, United States)
Contact:

I received an email about a lost man’s gold wedding ring lost in the snow. We just received about 4 inches of the snow the night before. The ring was lost while removing the snow from the car and shoveling. The ring was somewhere in two snow plies around the cars in the driveway. I was able to come and perform the search the same day. I flatten down the first pile with no luck, then the second pile I got a good beep. Pen pointing closer to the hard snow ball and there was the ring inside. They were very happy to have the ring returned to them. I continued with a prayer and a blessing over this couple.

Diamond engagement ring found in House in Glenview, Illinois

  • from Chicago (Illinois, United States)
Contact:
I normally don’t like doing house or apartment searches, guess it’s just because of my hangup having to go through strangers personally stuff.
However after hearing her story it was pretty hard to say no.
Got engaged in January and future husband out of state and she did not have the heart to tell him she lost her ring a,
$15,000 diamond engagement ring , not insured.
Searched for a couple hours and was getting close to calling it when I tried one last thing, took off her pillow shams and found it there.
She cried all during the search and the picture tells the story when it was found.
No better feeling!!!
