Lost engagement ring found at Pemaquid Beach in Bristol, Maine

  • from Rockport (Maine, United States)

Fellow Ringfinder Dennis Boothby directed Ian and Hannah to me, after she lost her diamond & ruby engagement ring in 3ft of water at Pemaquid Beach in Bristol yesterday afternoon. I headed down after work to search and was successful in recovering the ring. Ian’s aunt had given him this ring to keep for Hannah for when they got engaged. With the big day June 29th approaching rapidly, I was glad to recover it for them. A portion of their generous reward will be directed to the Knox County Fish & Game Association scholarship fund.

*** While brushing sand off her shoulder, Deborah’s diamond engagement ring went flying into the sand.  Her husband, Alex had spent fours hours with a metal detector scanning the dry sand. While he was desperately trying to be her hero and find her ring. Deborah found my contact information on a google search. I wish I knew how many people walk away from their lost rings because they couldn’t find them with a beginner’s metal detector that had no idea of how to use.

I got the call from them at about 8pm. We met on a the sand in the dark near a lifeguard tower in Newport Beach. I could tell they were frustrated after so many hours of searching. Alex told me he had no confidence that a metal detector could find a small gold ring in the sand. I gave him a little explanation of how I do ring searches with the most up to date equipment and years of experience using them.

Twenty minutes of grid scanning produced the precious white gold engagement ring. They were ecstatic giving me big high fives. It’s always nice to see how grateful people are when we find their special keepsake. I know the ring probably would not be there if they waited till the next day before calling for help. Items lost in public need to be searched as soon as possible.  If you lost anything call me or any other member if TheRingFinders.

I received a call from Eddie asking if I could help find his wedding ring near the Huntington Beach Pier. He told me he was leaving to go have dinner with his family and he would meet me later.

I decided to go early and do some detecting for myself until I realized the sun would be setting soon, so I called Eddie and asked for the location of the loss. I headed over to the spot and within 5 minutes I found his Tungsten wedding ring. It helped that I could see where they were running their fingers through the sand.

When Eddie arrived I met him in the parking lot and handed him my business card and that’s when he saw I was wearing his ring. The look on his face was priceless.

Sentimental Silver Ring Found at San Clemente State Beach, CA. .. by Ringfinder Stan Ross

Pricilla called asking if I could help her find a silver ring that she believed was lost the day before at San Clemente State Beach , CA.  She was at work when she called me and not available to meet me at the location.

It’s always best if the person that lost the ring can meet me at the location but she was able to send me a couple screen shots and photos that were taken to help me get in the general location.

It was not a problem to go search the location without having Pricilla take time off from her work. Traffic was better for me to travel to short after she called.

I arrived at the San Clemente State Park and was  able to avoid paying day parking because I always buy a yearly state beach parking pass. The walk down the hill was the hardest part of the search. Found the silver ring in the dry sand within a half hour of grid searching with my metal detector.

Pricilla met me that evening after work in a public location closer to her home. She was ecstatic and grateful to have this special sentimental keepsake back where it belongs.

If you need help finding a ring, jewelry or any metallic important item Call or Text me ASAP. I’m always available to help you answer any questions you have about how this service works.  STAN THE METAL DETECTOR MAN ..  949-500-2136

*** JJ  was at Newport Beach, CA. with his family. He had been out in waist deep water playing with his kids when he felt his white gold wedding ring slip off his finger.  The key clues that gave me hope for a successful search were, he felt it come off his finger, during high tide, the location has a hard sand bottom and the next low tide was a minus low at 2am in the morning.

He sent me a couple photos that gave me great reference points. I went in the late afternoon to search the dry sand and down to the water. ( many times people do get confused about if the felt the ring come off ) … I returned at midnight to grid search the minus low tide. Only three pieces of metal trash. Then a strong low tone with perfect ID numbers for a big gold ring. The water was ankle deep. The sand was hard so the ring was only about 3 inches deep.

The next morning I texted JJ with the good news. He wasted no time and drove to pick up his ring an hour after we talked. He was very appreciative and I could tell just by his presence that this ring meant the world to him.   I never get tired of doing this. Such a challenge and always a pleasure to meet someone I can help.

A phone call is the most reliable way to get a shot at finding your lost item. The next best option is to text me.. Always remember “Timing is Important “ … “I WILL TRY ANYWHERE “  Stan ..949-500-2136 ..

Metal Detecting Equipment Houston, Texas (Anderson’s Xtreme Kit for Minelab Excalibur)

One of our sponsor at “The Ring Finders” is Anderson Detector Shafts (www.andersondetectorshafts.com) a provider of great metal detecting equipment. They have just sent me there newest Carbon Fiber multi-configuration shaft for the Excalibur II for testing and evaluation.

My initial thoughts after unboxing the detector shaft was WOW. Extraordinary quality, light weight, three configurations, durability for long term use in Salt water. I immediately new this would be the only detector shaft I would ever need for the Excalibur.

The shaft can be configured into any of the following set ups: Scuba Shaft, Over and Under, or the Long Shaft.

Metal Detecting Equipment and Training

Metal Detecting Equipment and Training

I just added the Garrett AT Gold to the equipment list. I was looking for a machine that would perform really well on small gold items like diamond earrings and very small diamond pendants. The Minelab CTX 3030 manages well, but the prospecting (AT GOLD) hits these small items really well.

I purchased two small gold items from a local jewelry store for field testing and training purposes. The AT GOLD works amazingly well and should increase my recovery rate for these types of items.

The AT Gold picked out this small earring on its first test run along with some of the smallest specs of aluminum and other debris I have ever recovered.

My first impressions, the machine is awesome,  and it has already proven itself capable of finding micro specs of Au, Ag, and Pt.

Au: Gold

Ag: Silver

Pt: Platinum
