Lost Ring Found at Wrightsville Beach, NC Just Outside of Wilmington

  • from Emerald Isle (North Carolina, United States)

Marking The Spot Was A Huge Help

John & Jen were vacationing at Wrightsville Beach, NC.  While John was playing with his son in the water, he noticed his wedding ring had come off in waste deep water.  Wisely, John and his young son dug a trench in the sand pointing to the area they were standing when the ring was lost.  Jen notified me shortly afterwards.  As you can see in the picture, the line on the right side is the line John & his son made and the line on the left is where I drug my sand scoop to the first target, John’s wedding Ring!

32 YEAR WEDDING RING AND ENGAGEMENT RING LOST, AND RETURNED IN KELOWNA

  • from Kelowna (British Columbia, Canada)

Leah was enjoying a hot day on the beach in Kelowna B.C., she took off her rings so as not to lose them. Usually she puts them in her wallet for safe keeping, but her wallet was not handy so she put them in the chairs cup holder. At the end of the day her husband picked up the chairs and they went back to the hotel. When washing her hands Leah realized the loss of the rings, they went back to the beach to search for them, to no avail, Leah`s husband said they are gone someone has picked them up. Distraught leah searched the internet for help, finding The Ringfinders she gave me a call, I told he I would meet her at 6am on the beach. I arrived at the beach at 5am to beat the beach grooming machine, I noticed where they had searched on the sand and found the rings easily. When Leah arrived, I told her to give me a hug, then I handed her the rings, needless to say she was delighted, she told me she had not slept all night worrying about the loss. Another happy customer.

Ring lost for 20 years and one month found!

  • from Holland (Michigan, United States)

On July 4th, 1997 Larry was playing volleyball in front of his aunt Laurie’s cottage on Hess Lake when he lost his huge gold wedding band in about 3 ft of water.  Laurie came up with picture to confirm that date.  Old picture shows Larry in the center of the picture with his hands on his hips.  He and his friends spent a good deal of time looking for the ring and finally gave up.  He purchased a new ring and went on with his life.

Last week Gregg and Doug Larabel and I decided to hunt a sandbar in that area of the lake.  After about three hours of hunting we headed for home dead tired and left the lake from a friend’s house right next door to Laurie’s house.  Laurie spied us and said that her nephew had lost his ring in front of her place many years ago and asked if we could find it.  We did a few swings around the area in front and told her we would be back to do a more thorough search at a later date.

This week, Gregg Larabel, my fellow Ringfinder and I came back to do that more thorough search for Laurie.  After about an hour we were having no success and were about to give up when I hit a good signal and there was this huge gold ring in my scoop.  The inscription inside the ring said « love forever LLB 7-22-78 ».   After 20 years Laurie was not sure if this was Larry’s ring or not, but after a few phone calls we confirmed that this was indeed Larry’s ring.  The initials are his wife’s and the date is their wedding date.

Larry lives only a few miles from us and on the way home we delivered the ring to Larry.  It cannot get much better than this!!

Trip to Wintergreen VA

  • from Fairfax (Virginia, United States)

We took a mini-vacation with our friends G. & D. This time to the mountains of Wintergreen VA. It was kind of a long drive (3+ hours), but a beautiful place. Again, since I didn’t expect to SCUBA dive, I took my amphibious AT Pro instead of any one of my underwater detectors. I got to detect a couple of local lakes and found the usual trash and clad coins. Incredibly, the detector is so sensitive, I even found the back of an earring! In retrospect, I should have brought my SCUBA gear. While I was on a beach, a woman asked me to look for her GoPro camera. She had the spot, but it was too murky at about ten feet to find while snorkeling. The day before we left, I tried detecting a couple of hours on a ski slope. It was August, and pretty steep terrain. I felt a little like an anthropologist as I found clusters of items at certain areas. For instance, near the lift, there were many beer bottle caps and broken coat snaps. I can see in my mind the skiers settling down & enjoying a beer on the ride up. At the bottom of the actual slope, there were a few coins and broken pieces of ski boots. I’d love to go back in the spring, but I think I would need to be part billy goat because it was so steep. The photo is what I found at the lift and the slope. Afterwards, we had a fantastic dinner with G&D at Devils Backbone Basecamp Brewpub.

If I can be of service, the fastest way to get me is by text at 703-598-1435. I will contact you back ASAP.

Recovered wedding set on Long Branch Beach Found by Dennis Burlingame

Got a call from a nice gentleman named David who was in a panic. On vacation and leaving the next day to go back to Canada his wife lost her wedding set in the sand where they were sitting after putting on some lotion. She was really upset thinking she would have to go back without them. I met up with them after bout 40 minutes and began detecting, within 5 minutes she had her rings back. They had the area marked off with their shoes making it easy to search and locate them. Great feeling seeing the joy and smiles I got from this recovery.

Ring lost for 4 years and finally returned.

  • from Holland (Michigan, United States)

Katherine is the first cousin of my son’s best friend from high school and I am friends with her grandfather.  They had heard about Ringfinders and knew I was involved, but with the number of years gone by from when the ring was lost they assumed it was futile to look for it.

O.D., the grandfather, finally mentioned the lost ring to me and I immediately said, « Let’s go and get it. »  Katherine had been playing in waist deep water at the campground beach four years ago when she noticed her white-gold ring with three stones was missing.  Gretchen, Katherine’s mother, and Katherine were working at the campground this week and we made arrangements to meet there for the hunt.

Gregg Larabel, my fellow Ringfinder, and I arrived at about noon and in about ten minutes I had the ring in my scoop.  Katherine knew exactly where she was when the ring was lost, and this made for a fast recovery.

Gretchen and Katherine were watching us from the beach and we called them over and presented the ring to Katherine by having her take it off my pinky finger.  They were delighted to have the ring back, and Mom even shed a tear or two.

It is always fun to return a ring, but especially rewarding when you are friends with the family.

Gold and diamond ring found and returned to Antonio at the Caribe Hilton, Puerto Rico. July 2, 2017

Diamond ring found and returned, Ocean Park beach

Made someone very happy! I got a call for two lost rings on Sunday. While vacationing in Puerto Rico, Daisy had been in the surf when a wave snatched the rings right off her finger. Three days later a heartbroken Daisy stumbled across the Ringfinders page and found me. After gathering some information form Daisy I made my way to the beach with an approximate location where the rings were lost. After fighting the heavy surf the engagement ring was recovered. I returned the ring back to Daisy Rosario who was very very happy and grateful to have this ring back. Due to the heavy surf this has been by far my most challenging recovery.

Cell phone found and returned – Federal Heights, CO

  • from Denver (Colorado, United States)

I decided to take my new XP Deus 9.5×5 HF coil out for its first search. Since I didn’t have a lot of free time I decided to hit the local sand volleyball courts that are in a park just down the street. I spent about two hours finding $5.44 in change, a piece of costume jewelry and a cell phone. The phone had no charge left in it when I dug it up, but it looked to be in pretty good shape.
When I got home I cleaned out the charging port, put my charger on the phone (luckily the same type of charger my phone uses) and I jumped into the shower. After some time the phone came to life bit there was a pass code to get in to get any information. After a bit of searching I noticed you can get into the missed calls portion of the phone without the pass code. There I could see two phone numbers so I wrote one down and called it from my phone. It turned out to be the young girls grandmother and they lived just a couple hundred yards down the road. She was surprised that someone had found the phone and was actually going to give it back. I told them that I would be over in just a couple of minutes to return the phone. Na’shyia was happy to get her phone back, then again what 10 year old wouldn’t be.

Phone returned July 20, 2017
