Mayflower Beach Cape Cod, Massachusetts platinum wedding band lost, found and returned

Nicole’s call to her father was returned with a link to TheRingFinders.com. After a short conversation with Tim I was on my way to the bay side of Cape Cod. At the end of the road I tried to call Tim but due to No Cell Phone Service I could not contact him. He was somewhere out on the beach among the 100s of beach goers. One such beach goers was kind enough to let me use her phone to call Tim. When she heard me asking about the ring she was ready to tell me the story. It seams the loss was well known by many of the beach goers.

Tim showed up and off we went eager to start searching for his ring. After about 20 feet of searching to my surprise there were no signals. Oh, my mistake, I had left my detector set to a very specific setting to find a hearing aid. A quick change of a program setting and I was searching again. Quarter, soda bottle cap, 2 beer bottle caps and then the platinum wedding band was in my scoop. I left the ring in the scoop for Tim to remove and place on his finger. I wish I had my camera handy to catch the kiss between Tim and Nicole. As I didn’t and that they would not repeat it for a camera I will just have to settle on attached photos for the Book of Smiles.

In the short talk we had after finding the ring it was revealed that the ring went missing after re-applying sunscreen and not removing the ring from the beach chair’s pocket before moving the chair to a different location. The second bit of information was that Tim had proposed to Nicole on the same beach. Only fitting the wedding band was found and returned with enormous gratitude and smiles.

Ring lost at Fiesta Island found

Richard spent the day fishing on Fiesta Island. While cleaning some of the fish he had caught, he shook his hands to get some of the fish scales off, and his wedding ring went flying into the dry sand. He spent 3 days searching through the sand in that area, even buying a detector and trying his luck, but, he couldn’t find it. His online search brought him to TRF and my contact info. I met Richard at the site in the late afternoon where he showed me where he was setup the day of the loss. I’ve searched many areas of Fiesta Island before, and could understand why he had trouble trying to find his ring without any real experience using a detector. This area is tough even for seasoned pros. People have been burning wooded pallets and other scrap lumber on this Island for decades. Aluminum cans were thrown into the campfires and pull tabs litter the landscape. Anywhere you take a scoop of sand will result in 4-5 metal objects, so, it’s a real challenge to find just one signal in all that mess. It wasn’t a particularly big search area, but, it was slow going. 1 1/2 hours later, I had run 3 different grid lines over the entire search area, my trash pouch was almost full, and still no ring. I attacked ground zero at still a different angle and got another mixed signal on my Equinox…..the kind I’d been digging for the last hour and a half. After filtering out the sand, and pulling out 3 nails and 2 other pieces of melted aluminum, I finally see a ring in the scoop with the shells and rocks. Sure enough, it was Richard’s ring. Richard was overjoyed and was able to head home and give his wife the good news. A pleasure to meet you Richard, and thank you for the reward.

Harwich Port, Massachusetts gold ring, lost, found and returned

Jeff was enjoying the yearly family get-to-gather on Cape Cod and a football catch in the water of Nantucket Sound. The inevitable happened. His left handed toss of the football was fallowed by his flying wedding band.

After several hours of searching by Jeff and his friends without any sign of the ring. A call to a newly renewing member, Leighton Harrington, help was on its way. The time of day and tide was such that a search could not be started until 6am. Leighton and I often detect together and keep each other company on the trip to the search area, during the search and ride home.

In the water and looking, two rings were found on the first morning’s search, neither were the object of quest. During the day Jeff marked the area with a few coins before Leighton and I returned to search the second day. Leighton found a few of the coins and I found the ring in the same area we had searched over the previous day. If you miss it by an inch, you have missed it. That is why we don’t give up after the first search and crisscrossing the area.

Back at the house, pictures were taken and the return was made. Big smiles and the thought of a tear was observed. After a few stories were exchanged, Leighton and I were on our way for coffee and to set up a meeting time for the next day’s detecting experience. We were feeling great about putting a smile on another person’s face.

Lost Wedding Band Weekapaug Inn Beach Westerly RI… Found!

Relaxing in a prime vacation spot at the Weekapaug Inn Beach, Westerly RI, Dan removed his wedding band as most beachgoers would before swimming or applying sunscreen. Later that day, Dan’s summer vacation took a stumble when he realized the wedding band was missing. He immediately searched the internet for help and came across my blog entry from a couple of weeks prior, where I saved the life of a honeymooner by finding his handcrafted lost gold ring. Dan sent me an email and scheduled an appointment. I had a good feeling about this search from the beginning, mostly due to how quickly Dan called after realizing the wedding band was lost and his confidence in explaining the scenario. I searched the area where Dan was sitting, working my way back towards the path he walked the previous day. After 20 minutes of searching, I ended up finding the ring deep in the sand, only a couple of feet away from the rollout plank walkway, where Dan paused to put on his mask. This area is the primary path for the Weekapaug Inn guests to enter and exit the private beach, so the constant foot traffic caused the lost wedding band to sink quickly.

….  Sukhm had proposed to Banpreet at beautiful Laguna Beach, CA. beach. They had a photographer record the moment. The photographer suggested they set the engagement ring in the wet sand for a photo with them in the background. An unexpected wave came up and the ring disappeared below the sand. I’m posting a copy of Banpreet’s side of the story below.

My fiance had just finished his proposal to me and we were beginning to take pictures with my new ring. We were attempting to take a picture with the ring in the sand and as our photographer was focusing-in on the ring, a wave came and swept the ring away. Our photographer frantically began to dig around the area to look for the ring, and my fiance immediately jumped into the water. I followed him and we were both waist deep in the water, grabbing at anything that felt like it could be my ring but would only turn out to be shells and debri every time. 30 minutes passed and we still couldn’t find the ring, my worst nightmare was becoming a reality and as the sun began to set, I started to believe that my ring was gone forever. 

I called my brother and asked him what we should do and he googled Ring Finders and Stanley was the closest to our location. My brother contacted him and before he could hang up the phone, Stanley was already on his way to us. Stanley arrived quickly with all of his equipment and began searching the area. We watched as Stanley scanned over the area where we lost the ring. Within a minute he scooped up the sand, and nodded his head with a smile. My fiance jumped up and shouted « No way! » Stanley found our ring! We were overjoyed and both embraced Stanley. 

Stanley truly has a talent for locating valuables and allowed us to have our happy ending. He was very kind, professional and helpful. We will always remember how he helped us during one of the most stressful situations in our life. We highly recommend him to anyone who loses something valuable. Thank you Stanley!

Karen was at a small beach in Huntington Harbor when she lost her Cartier Wedding Ring. She tried combing through the sand for a while without any luck.

Another resident helped her by posting her loss on social media and that’s when my friend tagged me on the post and I shared my info so she could reach out to me.

Karen called me a short time later with details about her loss and said she could meet me in an hour. I decided to go and try to find the ring right away without waiting for her.

I got lucky and started in the right place because I found her ring in about 5 minutes. I called her to verify that I had the correct ring. She met me at my house to pick up her ring and let me know how thankful she was.

Lost Necklace found in Calgary

I received a call from Susan who was quite distraught about losing her necklace. The one she bought when she was 21. Now, 43 years later, the necklace was lost when she swiped at our seriously nasty mosquitoes. After searching herself using a rake in the grass she looked for help and found me.  I came out the next day and she brought me to where she lost it. She knew where it was because she marked the path with a chalk X (Brilliant!) The path turned out to be the paved path that travels the length of the provincial park in our city. Dozens, even hundreds of people used the path between when the necklace was lost and when I arrived.  Susan began her own search and I set up my detector to search the grass along the edge of the path. I had barely begun when I caught a glint of gold on the pathway. I pulled out my camera and captured the moment when she received her necklace.

The evening of July 25/20, I lost my necklace in Fish Creek Park, Calgary. On a Google search I found Evan’s name, and phoned him the next afternoon.

I recently received an email from Nathan who accidentally lost his ring while in waist deep water at Torrey Pines beach. After a couple emails and a phone call we set up an appointment to meet at the beach where it was lost 5 days prior.

  Nathan and his father brought beach chairs to enjoy the morning and help point me in the  direction out in the surf.. which was very helpful to this recovery. Beforehand,I explained that I often will find a lost ring pretty quickly but some searches can require hours or days before being recovered.

Low and behold…After swinging patiently for nearly 3hrs in strong current,choppy shore break and Stepping on 1 stingray,I finally get a strong signal in roughly shin deep water,Took a few scoops down and out came Nathan’s ring!

Lost Ring New Brighton Park Vancouver, BC… Found!

I received an email in regards to a ring that may have been lost at New Brighton Park in Vancouver. The young lady sent me a picture of the area and a picture of the ring that was lost. I asked her to call me to discuss the search and she did, I immediately went to the location where the ring had been lost the day before to search the dry sand and also check the low tide where he did take a couple of dunks in the ocean. The dry sand was hammered with fire pits and lots of metal, tin can lids, nails… After doing my grid search in the dry I moved to the low tide and started searching the rocky area of the beach.

After about 45 minutes I received a good signal close to the waterline and to my surprise I found his beautiful gold ring! The young couple were not there to show me the area, I took a nice picture of the ring and sent it to them via text message. Within seconds they had replied that’s the ring!!!!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

They sent me their address and I dropped off the ring and met the young couple, they were so grateful and so happy to have that ring back! After talking for a little bit she went on to tell me that this was the second time they had used my service, a week before they had asked me to search a park where her husband believed he had lost his ring. I searched for 3 1/2 hours but no ring, I told them to put up some lost posters in the area and not to give up the search and to check their house. 45 minutes later I got a call that the ring was found in the house. This happens more than you know, the most important thing is the ring was found, the sad thing was it was lost again a week later!
