Received a call this morning.

Lost a Christmas gift from her boyfriend in the front yard.

She was unable to make the search but her boyfriend did.

Actually a pretty easy and quick search considering it was an earring (so small)

Took about 15 minutes.

Scussett Beach, MA Diamond Ring Found and Returned by Richard Browne

  • from Cape Cod (Massachusetts, United States)

July 25, 2025 Just about everyone has a memorable time at the beach, some even enjoy the trip home and make plans to return on another day, as it was with Sidney and Tim. That was until Sidney arrived home and opened the backpack to get her rings that Tim had taken from her at the water’s edge. Let’s cut to the search. I left my house under the threat of severe thunderstorms that were on their way across Cape Cod. I was going to try to beat the rain and I would stay off the beach during any thunder. I was willing to take the chance. On my way skies darkened and it was lit up frequently with streaks of lightening. I almost turned around, but with only few miles to the beach, I pushed on. Traffic was on my side and I arrived at the beach 25 minutes before Sidney and Tim. And in that time the storm passed over and the skies were turning a nice calm blue.

With boots, detector, and scoop ready the three of us headed for the area that the loss occurred. At first it was a nice, once was dry sand area, pointed out as the area to search but nothing turned up! Well maybe we were more this way is closer to where we were. Again nothing…closer to the water? Oh yes, Sidney then told me she had taken the rings off at the water’s edge, gave them to Tim, and he took them to the backpack and secured them in there.

Cellphone pictures showed a more probable location on the “dry” sand. It looked promising and a missing plastic toy that was lost the day before was uncovered and would be taken home. Could it be Tim had dropped the one ring? Could be. So I started searching between the “dry” sand area and the water’s edge. My next signal sounded pretty good. Sure enough, a shallow scoop an inch below the wet sand and closer to the water than were the ring was believed to have been lost, the ring was in my scoop. As it frequently happens the ring is usually not were it is thought to have been lost..

Sidney quickly nestled the beautiful diamond between the two sides of the wedding band and replaced the assembled ring back on her finger with a promise never to let that happen again. I suggested a couple of ways that could be accomplished. First is to leave the rings at home and wear an inexpensive set to the beach. Second if they should be taken off on the beach put them directly into a zip-lock bag. A third aid is a tight fitting silicon clear ring to be used as a keeper.

The ring having been found and restored to its proper location. The storm had passed, the blue sky was here waiting to turn dark again, this time by the setting sun. The only thing left was the last thank you, a cheerful good-bye and a long ride home. At least the ride was going to be long enough to make plans for another memorable day on the beach hopefully one without such a traumatic ending.

Westport CT Back yard platinum Cartier wedding ring found in record making time July 2025

For Jeff and his family a normal routine of placing his ring on a table and then going into the pool resulted in the ring being tossed into the yard. Jeff had placed his ring in his hat on the table and accidently put the cap on his head and the ring sailed out into the grassy , flower bed area surrounding his hot tub and deck. After spending a week on their hands and knees and even buying an Amazon detector they had no success, then Jeff heard about me from a news broadcast and gave me a call to investigate. After sending me a few pictures and a video tape of his yard  had a possible idea of what could have happened. I wanted to search the bushes and grassy area next to the flower bed. I surveyed the area and started detecting avoiding the electrical wires in the garden and deciding to search the area immediately adjacent to the garden and grass. I had a great signal just below the grass layer and after inserting my finger under the grass the ring came out on the tip of my finger, it was approximately 2 minutes after I had started searching. I showed him my finger and he explained I was a magician and where was it. My best guess is that his family had probably stepped on it and pushed it further into the grass so it could not be seen. The inexpensive metal detector and lack of experience did not help. He immediately texted his kids and called his wife downstairs to see the miraculous recovery that happened in my personal record breaking time. They were stunned and in disbelief that they had not found it.  I admit that I had been lucky to choose the right area and first logical choice and know my detector and the signals matching a platinum ring. It could have been a long search if the lawn mower had caught it and tossed it into the woods or if it had been taken out in the mulched grass clippings. A good day for all and two hours on the road to then start another search nearby.

Fairfield CT Jennings Beach Water recovery July 15, 2025

  • from Old Saybrook (Connecticut, United States)

Lou and his family were at Jennings beach in Fairfield and enjoying a day in the water when suddenly while playing tag in three feet of water he noticed his wedding ring had fallen off. In a frantic effort to find it he put on his sons swim goggle and search the murky waters. He had resolved himself to the fact that the ocean had concealed it and he might have to purchase a new ring. His wife decided to put a post in social media if anyone found a ring at Jennings to let them know. One name popped into the post and said get Wayne Aguiar. A person that follows me knew I had been successful kin previous returns and thought i might be able to help. Lou found my contact information online and gave me a call late in the day. I promised I would go that night and take advantage of the tides. When I arrived a bad thunderstorm was passing through the area and the water was unsafe. I called off the search for safety’s sake and came the next morning before the beach officially opened. Lou met me there and pointed out the general area that he last remembered the ring while playing tag with his kids. It took a couple of hours and dumping buckets of trash before a I had a good signal. I dug out the signal which was around 6 inches and dumped out the scoop onto the beach. The ring miraculously rolled out of the scoop and Lou jumped down and placed it on his finger exclaiming to everyone around I had found his ring. we celebrated with selfies and again I gave Lou a St Anthony medal as a keep sake for his family. The next day Lou was very happy and in shock and disbelief I was able to find it. He contacted the Channel 12 news station and submitted pictures and selfies that we had taken after the recovery. The news station liked the pictures and the story and decided to have a televised interview. I was on another ring recovery in RI so I zoomed into the interview and shared our stories.

2 day search for a sentimental ring

  • from Torch Lake (Michigan, United States)

Called out to find a ring that was lost while throwing a tennis ball out in the water.  This one was tricky due to the amount of other items in the lake but was found and returned to a very happy owner.  Thank you for the chance to help find your ring.

Lost Ring in Rental Car near Coeur d’Alene, Idaho….Found!!

  • from Spokane (Washington, United States)

The thought to remove one’s ring before doing an activity may very well save the rings from being lost. However, for Linda the act of taking off her rings was what led to the disappearance for her wedding ring. While traveling in their rental car to their next destination, Linda decided to put on some sunscreen. The car her husband was driving had a large console in the middle of the car. On the console was a sliding door with a lip around the outside. A very nice resting place for her two wedding rings. Although the lip around the door was sufficient, the inertia caused by a right-hand turn sent the two rings flying. The large engagement ring stayed on the door, but the smaller thinner band had a mind of its own.

The car made it to its destination, Linda and Jeffery her husband, nonchalantly began to look for the lost ring. It must be on the floorboard they thought. So, under the floor mat they looked. They also looked under the seat and on the side of the seat. Their mood changed dramatically, a lost and hopeless wave covered over their minds. The family they were with, began to help the search. Linda’s lost ring was lost for good.

Lost for good, is where the search for The Ring Finders begins.

I was out with my family when a text message showed up. Linda wanted my help with the ring in the car. The time that the car had to be returned put a rush on me getting to the rental car. With all of my lost jewelry searches I bring as much gear that I can to help me with the task. For Lindas search, I had my two stream lights, a tool called a stick, a borescope, and a no quit attitude. Every step I take on a car search is to eliminate each and every hiding spot. After searching front to back and top to bottom, I got my borescope and began looking into the cracks of the car. On the last pass of the passenger side seat, I was able to look into the console to see the void that was under the sliding door. In the far-left corner, I saw the perfect shape of a ring. The further I moved toward the ring revealed the diamonds around the edge of the ring.

Leaping with excitement inside myself, I tried to calmly say that « I found the ring ». I knew the really tough part of this search had just begun. Extracting the ring from the car would ultimately cause the ring to fall deeper into the subfloor. At which point the Ford mechanics had to step in. Two techs had to take the car apart enough to lift the console up. With the pictures Linda had taken, the men knew where to look for the ring and were successful in retrieving it.

This search took many hands to complete the mission, and I truly feel that all Ring Finders are superheroes, but even Batman had Robin.

I received a call late last night around 10:45 PM from a young man who said his brother-in-law lost his wedding band and they were devastated. He asked if I could come out right away to help, but unfortunately, Vancouver has their celebration of light fireworks display attracts hundreds of thousands of people and they called right when it ended.

There was no chance I was going to be able to drive to the city to get to that beach so I decided to drive around the city. It only took approximately 40 minutes and I was there meeting the young man and his family and friends.

It turned out to be a pretty big area because they weren’t 100% sure where the rain came off they were playing football and volleyball. I had to start my grid search in two directions north south east west and within 2 1/2 hours I found that beautiful ring.!!! I get just as happy to people who have lost it to see that in my sand scoop. I was able to surprise everybody,  the reactions were priceless. I love my job.!

I received a phone call from a young lady who said she lost two rings, not quite 100% sure exactly where but they did find one Ring where she was wrestling with her little two-year-old son, her five year-old son found the ring beside the stroller. amazing another good Treasure Hunter.!

This sounded like it was going to be a long walk but my first thought was let’s start where they found the first ring. The young lady got me to the area stopped and said this is the area where my son found the first ring I’d look down and pull up the second ring, amazingly. This was just a matter of seconds after we landed in the area where she believed they found the first ring, she said that she walked that area four times with different people looking on the side of the tarmac and on the tarmac. It’s amazing how these little rings can hide so easily. This makes up for the Rolex watch that I spent four hours in freezing cold water searching for. I love my job!
