Lost Diamond Earring, Vienna Virginia…FOUND!

  • from Fairfax (Virginia, United States)

Rob Ellis: Metal Detecting Expert… Call/text/email, (703)-598-1435, Rob.Ellis@TheRingFinders.com

October 15th, 2020: Fairfax County gave permission to search park, and I recovered a diamond earring

Sydney was playing with friends on the field at Nottoway Park when she realized one of her lovely diamond earrings, a gift from her father, was missing. She looked for it, but quickly realized the impossibility of finding it in the grass. She contacted me and we discussed the possibility of a search. Sydney was a great help, obtaining photos which showed her earring on her ear for part of the event, and then showing how it was missing later. I think she was a detective in another life…

Nottaway Park is part of the Fairfax County Park Authority and is adjacent to the historic Hunter House mansion. To use a detector in a county park is forbidden.  The County rightly is concerned detectorists will dig up the lovely fields. They are also very protective of historic sites like the Hunter House. I’m very grateful to Ms. Stratford of the Park Authority.  She contacted various County departments and encouraged them to give me permission to search. Also, a shout out to the maintenance manager Mr. Sullivan who postponed grass cutting so I could search.

Without boring you with too many details, let me say this was a very difficult recovery. It’s like searching for a needle, in a haystack full of needles. I used a small coil on the end of a special detector so I could hear small items like earrings. To cover the field I needed to scan every inch. Think of it like painting a floor with a 4” brush.  It took six trips to the park, and 21 hours to find. When I saw the look on Sydney’s face, it was so worth it!!!

Platinum wedding band lost dockside in Lake Rosseau, Rosseau, Ontario 🇨🇦

  • from Brampton (Ontario, Canada)

I received an email from Adrienne that her husband Michael lost his platinum wedding band in the silty waters dockside at their cottage in Lake Rosseau!

Lake Rosseau is an absolutely beautiful area in Ontario’s cottage country!

Michael was covering up their boat on a cold day and his wedding ring slipped off between the boat and the dock into the silty waters six feet below.

They made attempts to find the wedding ring themselves with no luck. A Friend suggested to contact my through The Ring Finders Dot Com website in which Adrienne connected with me!

Ontario cottage country was ablaze with the various trees “fall colors” on my trip up to Lake Rosseau in the Muskoka Lakes region!

I brought along my brand new hookah system called the  “BLU3 NEMO”! This unit has a total weight of 10-12lbs total! I still had my fill scuba gear just in case!

Michael showed the exact location on the dock where he watched his wedding band fall into the water.

I proceeded into the water with the hookah unit and my Minelab Excalibur2 underwater metal detector. Five minutes later the wonderful “tone” of platinum sounded off in my headphones after I pulled two nails! BINGO!!!

I proceeded up from underneath the dock with the beautiful wedding band leading the way!

Here is the video of this beautiful wedding band recovery for Michael & Adrienne;

Happy smiles all around!!

Thank you so very much Michael & Adrienne for entrusting me to recover this beautiful wedding band but also your very generous donation to the Kelly Shires Breast Cancer Foundation! I am humbled at your generosity as a credit to my metal/scuba detecting skills!

Lost Platinum Wedding Band Recovered Using Metal Detector at Dockwieler Beach

  • from Newport Beach (California, United States)

If You lose a metal valuable in the sand call Stan … 949-500-2136

*** Anthony called me after spending several hours trying to find his platinum wedding ring in the sand at Dockweiler Beach , Los Angeles county, CA.

We didn’t talk much about the loss on the phone as one minute can equal one mile down the road. All I needed to hear was he felt it come off his finger while sitting on his towel. The other thing I needed to know was that he could wait at the location till I arrived,

I arrived at Dockwieler Beach after driving in fast moving traffic. Parking was easy as people were beginning to leave the beach. Anthony answered his phone right away, directing me to site. Within a few minutes I had his platinum wedding ring in my scoop.

Many people just give up and walk away from their sentimental keepsake, not knowing that it can be found with the right tool (quality metal detector) and a experienced person to do an efficient search.

Anthony and his wife were very grateful and appreciative that they found me on TheRingFinders website. I had to hear again that they never knew a service like this existed.

I got there and Paige and her friend were waiting, They walked me over to the area where the loss occurred, and showed me what had happened. I could see that they had searched extensively for the key, as there was a lot of sand moved. I began my search, and within a few minutes, I had her key in my scoop. I pulled it out to her surprise, and handed it to her. She was so happy to not have to call a locksmith to get her car home. It is great bringing this happiness to people!

Daniel called me about losing his ring the day before when he was playing in the water with his young child. He said they weren’t deep, but when he called the tide was at a similar height, so I recommended we wait a couple more hours in order to make sure we had enough sand exposed to search. He agreed, and we arranged a meet up later.

When I got there Dan found me and took me over to the area of the loss. There were some markers left over from the previous day to help him line up the spot where the ring came off. There was another gentleman there detecting who Daniel asked to see if he could find the ring, but he was unable to located it. Daniel’s brother in law had purchased an inexpensive detector that he also used unsuccessfully. He showed me where he thought the ring came off, I expanded the area a little, and began my search. I was on my first pass, when I was about to turn and make the second pass I received the signal I was expecting, Dug once, and there in the sand was a big silver ring. I looked around, and Daniel had slipped off the cool in the waves, He turned back to see me holding up his ring. He hurried over excited, not thinking I would have found it so fast. It really meant a lot to him, and it was great to see him so happy to have it back. These smiles make life a joy!

Daniel sent the following testimonial:

What can I possibly say except thank you to Steve for recovering my wedding ring. I lost it yesterday at the beach with my son and today had to go back and search for myself. Knowing the approximate area and searching for some time I took a break and said a few more prayers. I truly believe I was sent a thought to look online and search out someone who might be into finding missing items. Once I searched on yelp I came across some names but was directed to call Steve Smith. Praise God I did and my prayers were answered, he found it in record time! He is your #1 and only call and I’m grateful beyond words. Thank you Steve you’re talents are a blessing.
With gratitude,
Daniel

Lost Gold Ring W/Diamonds Found In Farmington Hills Michigan

  • from Detroit (Michigan, United States)

Mom’s Lazy Boy Comes Clean…..

Once upon a time during covid-19 in a small town and cozy house lived this nice, pictured lady who’s ring went missing. Unsure of where it could be with all the routine changes that took place, she reached out for help. We chatted briefly and when I arrived today I started my ground search along the path where the classy car was parked. Next was the classy car search but nothing was found. Moving to the inside we went room by room, in the bedroom we checked wavvy waterbed along with the heavy dresser and chesty drawers revealed nothing. Searching the living room’s curvy couch revealed nothing. When we sat on curvy couch to take a break the spring squeaks sounded like they said check with chatty chair and tattle table. In doing so, it was revealed underneath in a woodburning that lazy boy talked in his sleep and said steely safe had the ring. Moving to steely safe and opening the door revealed no ring but a note that read…. lazy boy is so soft that he keeps all the jewelry that falls off from those who relax on him. Thanking steely safe we formed a quick plan. Moving hastily in a surprise attack, she jumped on lazy boy and pulled back on his arm, an agonizing screech followed and as my hands were going in to search we heard metal hit the floor! Wrestling lazy boy out of the way revealed this beautiful triple band gold ring! As lazy boy tried to wheedle his way out of this we quickly taped up all the holes where things could « fall » into. All was well again in the cozy house, a happy ending for the lady and as wisps of curly smoke lifted to the sky from the chimney the lazy boy was surrounded by his contemporaries, each sporting a grin, not to teach him his lesson but that a professional tape removal and stitching was in order.

Lost Wedding Ring after 69 Years of Marriage.. Found by Member of TheRingFinders .. Newport Beach, CA.

Nic’ s 90 year old grandmother had been visiting with the family at their Newport Beach home on the beach. She has been grieving the recent loss of her husband of 69 years of marriage. While at the family gathering she lost her wedding ring that she has worn for the 69 years.

His grandmother, Nana had been out on the beach where she walked into the surf, ankle deep, to feel the ocean water on her feet. She lost her balance falling in the shallow water. Nic’ s mother helped Nana to her feet walking her back to their beach chairs where she used towels to dry her off. That’s where Nana noticed her precious ring missing.

Nic had the presence of mind to go online to find my contact information. After he called me I was able to meet him and his family at the site shortly after the call.

Almost everyone believed the ring was in the ocean. Nic’s mother thought it could be in the dry sand where they dried off Nana.

I spent the first part of the search in the surf as the tide was coming up. If it wasn’t there I could return at the next low tide. Not finding it, I went up to where they had dried off.

While swing my detector over the dry sand, Nana walked up to me with a sad look on her face. She pointed out to the waves saying the ring is lost out there. A couple more moves with the detector I got the perfect sound of gold. One scoop of my sand scoop revealed the 69 year old ring. Nana was right next to me at the time, so I let her take it out of the scoop. The look on her face was indescribable. I got very emotional and began to tear up. After many recoveries this was exceptional and one I’ll never forget. Being a member of TheRingFinders has been a special part of my life.

Here’s a testimonial from Nicodemos:

My 90 year old nana fell by the water right on 38th street Newport Beach and walked over onto the sand to dry off when she noticed her ring she got from her now passed away husband (tata) since 1951 was missing!

Our family lost all hope until I found Stan The Metal Detector Man! I called and he immediately came by within 15 minutes! It was very reassuring to see how confident and knowledgeable Stan was. He had a plan and reasoning for what he was doing and he found the ring in less that an hour.

Honestly can’t thank Stan enough because what he found was priceless and he’s doing gods work

TheRingFinders Help Actor Jon Cryer Find His Lost Wedding Band…Vancouver, BC

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

Chris Turner- Ring Recovery Specialist…Lost your ring?… Call ASAP  Anytime   778-838-3463

Like most of my searches, it starts with a call or an email asking if I could help find something someone has lost. I have a series of questions I will ask in order to feel out the situation and the chances I will have for finding it. Sometimes it gets no further than the phone call, as some people explained that they had lost it in a department store or in a taxi, places I have no chance of finding what they lost.

After an email asking me if I could help find a lost wedding band I replied and asked if he could call me to discuss it further. I get the call and listen to a story on where he believes the ring was lost, he told me that he had searched for it as soon as he realized it fell off his finger but it was dark, with the flashlight on his phone he could not see the ring anywhere. He came back the next morning early and still could not find his ring.

I asked him about the area as I was not familiar with Cooper’s Park, it turned out to be along the seawall, the only area the ring could be for me to find it was in a very narrow strip of grass that separated the bike path and the runners/walkers path. Unfortunately, this was not good news, I asked if you could send me a picture of the location and he pulled one off of Google earth and I could see right away he had less than 5% chance of his ring being in the grass area.  I call these type of searches closure searches, I will come in and close off the only area I can search in order to give them closure that the ring is not there or by luck, it is there.

We set up a time to meet the next day at 9 AM, as soon as we met I knew this person, it was Jon Cryer from Two and a Half Men. I told him I really enjoyed his character on that show and he was very humble and thanked me for saying that. Such a nice person, as nice in real life as you would imagine him to be.

That being said the pressure was on, we discussed the search and Jon showed me around the area where he believed the ring had fallen. I told him there was approximately a 5% chance of finding his ring due to the fact it was all concrete apart from a little slice of grass that separated the bike path and the runner’s path. Together we walked around and eyeballed the ground around the area but I felt the chances were huge that someone had already found the ring the day before.

While Jon was walking around looking in the cracks and crevices of the walkway I started my search of the grass area, surprisingly with the odds against us and within five minutes, I had found Jon’s beautiful wedding band! I have to tell you, I was surprised to see his ring poking through the grass, got to surprise John and see how happy it made him.

I have the best job in the world and I love doing this more than anything I’ve done in my lifetime. I get to make people smile, I get to hear their stories of what the ring means to them and how happy they are when I’m lucky enough to find it.

Thank you for reading my blog, please tell your friends about TheRingFinders.com

Lost Platinum Wedding Band at Hilton Hawaiian Village…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This ring find began when I got an email from Justine. Justine and her husband Simon were hanging out at the Hilton Hawaiian Village beach about two weeks ago when Simon decided to put on sunscreen. After placing his ring on his lap and then applying sunscreen Simon noticed his ring disappeared. They both carefully searched the surrounding dry sand area but the platinum wedding ring was no where to be found. Justine asked in her email if too much time has gone by and I definitely thought the ring especially in the dry sand would have been found already. That beach is very highly detected but I told Justine send me a drawing of where the ring was lost and I’d give it a try. When I arrived at the Hilton the beach had two tents in the search area but the people were kind enough to let me hunt around them. I started finding trash and a few coins and this was a good indication the ring might still be there. After about 20 minutes I decided two more grid rows will have covered the area Justine had drawn. On the second to last row I got a steady number « 9 » on the Equinox and in one scoop there was a platinum ring in my scoop. Justine had told me it was a white gold Bvlgari. I looked inside and it said Bvlgari so I sent her a photo. Sure enough it was it and Simon confirmed it surely was his « Platinum » ring. Perfect fit too! Aloha to Simon & Justine!

When Jackie called me it was already about 8:00 PM. She had been at the beach, and lost 3 diamond rings to the beach sand. I asked if she could wait, even though it might take a while for me to get there, telling her that if the rings were there I would find them. I needed her to be able to show me the area of the loss. She said they could, and would be there when I arrived. I was on my way.

I got to the beach, and access to the beach where Jackie and her family was closed, so she sent me a car to pick me up and take me to where they had been during the day. When I got there it was nice to see how everyone had waited for her. They took me out to where they believed the loss occurred, and I could see where they had searched quite a large area. I knew I needed to narrow down the search a bit, so I asked Jackie where she had been most of the time, and started just outside of that area, working my way in. Jackie stood where thought she had been, and remained there as I searched. I found a few of the normal trash metal that is usually on the beach, pass after pass, and then right in front of Jackie I got a real nice signal. I put the scoop in and out came her engagement ring, one down. I worked in that area a couple swings more, and scooped up another ring, two down. A couple more swings, and Jackie was holding all of the rings she lost. Needless to say she was very happy, and it was an end to a great day!
