Got a call from Kevin and Karishma, While at the waters edge with his child a wave caught him and off slid his wedding band. When I got there and saw the waves I thought this wasn’t going to be an easy one. Tide was going out so I tried the slope some then worked my way into the water best I could with the waves coming in the way the were. Plus it didn’t help there were kids and people all over not wanting to move for me. Finally I just couldn’t work the water anymore getting hit with waves, I told her I’d give it one more shot on the slope because everyone left. Back and forth on the 3rd pass I got a good hit on the detector and in 2 scoops of sand I had his ring. They were so happy and I a great feeling know I got his ring back for him.

Iphone Found Buried in the Sand Returned to Owner, Venice Beach, CA.

 *****While searching for silver ring at a volleyball court on the sand at Venice Beach, CA. I found a IPhone X buried next to the posts that hold the net.

Later that night after returning home, I charged the phone. There was a notification saying,” This is a lost phone please call a number listed.” I called the number getting a friend of Christina, the owner of the phone.

Christina called me a few minutes later and we made arrangements for her to pick up her phone. When she met me she couldn’t understand how her phone ended up buried in a plastic bag in a location she had never been. It probably got picked up by someone who didn’t want to get located in possession of the IPhone. These phones have location apps that can be traced back to where they have been lost.

The important thing was that we were able to get Christina’s phone back to her. She was very grateful, saying I saved her a thousand dollars. Being a college student, it’s not easy to come up with the money to replace a smart phone.

Lost wedding ring recovered from Penobscot Bay Maine

I received a call from Steven Kennedy visiting from Seattle, WA ; who lost his gold and platinum wedding band during a swim in Penobscot Bay at his sister’s summer home in Northport, Maine. I proceeded to the site the following day just prior to low tide and began my dive. After removing some metallic debris from the seabed that hindered the search, I was able to locate the ring which rested covered in about an inch of sand in about 6 feet of water and return it to Steve.  A portion of his generous reward will be directed to Literacy Volunteers Mid Coast Maine.

Sentimental Heirloom Pendant Lost at Manhattan Beach, CA…Found and Happily Returned.

RJ called me in the afternoon on a hot day for a search. He had been at the beach the day before, and before going in the water he remembered putting his necklace with pendant into his bag. When he left though the necklace was gone, he figured in the beach sand. This piece of jewelry was given to him by his mother. It had been worn by his grandfather while he fought in World War 2. The pendant had the word LUCK written in Hebrew, and it meant the world to him. I came right away.

When I arrived there was still a lot people on the sand, but RJ believed that it was in an area that people were not in at the time. I did a search the best I could, but was not able to find the ring. I let him know I would go back when everyone had gone home. I got there about 8:30 PM, and began my search. After about 1 1/2 hours, and many bottle caps, pennies, and tin foil, I got another good signal. When I dug, there in my scoop was the pendant, not where he had thought it was, in fact way over to the other side of where he had conducted me earlier. This is the reason it is best to get on the search as soon as possible, because over time people tend to forget exact details that we as Ring Finders need in order to have a successful search. Of course we need to think and search « out of the box » at times in order to have a complete search of an area, and this is what was done this time. I sent RJ a text to let him know I found the pendant and chain, and arranged to meet him at the bar he was at to return it. Needless to say RJ was very happy that night!

Sentimental Silver Ring Lost at Malibu Beach, CA…Found and Happily Returned.

I received a call from Roy, he had been throwing a football to his friend at the beach, when his ring flew off of his hand. He did not think it went into the water, even though he was close. I told him I would be there as soon as I could to perform a search for him. The ring was given to him by his father who had since passed away, so this ring had extreme sentimental value to him.

When I arrived he took me to the area, and showed me what had happened. It seemed like it should’ve been an easy search, but the tide was coming in, and less sand was exposed. It was about 7:00 PM, and tide was almost at its highest, and all the area he thought it might have landed in did not have the ring. After completely searching the area, I was disheartened to have to tell Roy, that his ring was not in the area I searched, but told him that I would come back at 12:00 AM to do a second search when the tide had receded, and he was welcome to meet me for the search. Roy decided not to go, so I was on the beach in the darkness doing my grid alone at 12:00 AM. About 1 1/2 hours later down the slope 30 feet from where I was searching earlier (30 feet further out in the water earlier), I received a real nice signal, and dug. One scoop, and his ring was shining in my headlight. I sent him a text at 1:30 AM to let him know the ring was secure. I did not hear anything back from him until the next morning, at which time he was totally in disbelief that I was able find his ring. Because of work arrangements we had to wait a week in order to get his ring back. When we finally met, I was able to give this memory of his father back to him, and completely make his day. What a great service to be a part of!

Car Key Lost in the Sand at Sunset Beach, CA…Found and Happily Returned.

I got a call from Christopher about a key he lost in the sand at the beach. It seems he was using another key on the key ring to cut something when his car key snagged on something, and the blade of the key snapped off of the plastic door opener it was attached to, and flew into the sand. After thoroughly searching for it he found me on The Ring Finders web site, and asked for help. After describing what had happened, I let him know I would be there as soon as I could to conduct a search for him.

When I arrived, Christopher took me over to the area of the loss. He explained again what happened, and showed me where he believed the key to have flown. I turned my detector on, swung once, got a good signal, and after scooping the sand, had his key in my scoop. He was so happy, and relieved because he could not leave without the blade of the key. A very short search, made an extremely happy gentleman!

Lost White Gold Ring with Diamonds Found In The Sand In Harrison Township Michigan

The pictured couple was at a family reunion and the group decided to play some intense beach volleyball. During the jumps, flying sand and close net action her ring came off in the sand. She didn’t realize it till they were done but remembered which of the 2 nets they were at when the ring came off. Lots of people tried to help them look but with no luck yesterday so I met them today and did a grid search and just in front of the net and about halfway the width I got a nice signal 3″ deep.
Probing with the pin-pointer I got a vibe and a nice clunk of metal beneath the sand. Reaching down into the sugary grains revealed this gorgeous specimen! The husband’s back was to me and I had the ring between my fingers in the air as he turned and said I can’t believe it! We looked for hours!
They both came running across the volleyball court barefoot and with sandy toes…….. jumped with excitement!

Diamond and gold Wedding band lost at Boca Raton , Florida… found..

I got got a call  from a woman who lost a ring in a condominium on the beach. It was a very complicated search involved multiple levels of grass, parking lots, bushes and flower beds. But I succeeded on the second day.

Lady Lost Sentimental Silver Ring at Venice Beach, CA. Volleyball Court in the Sand

……… Melonie called asking me if I could help her find a silver ring that came off her finger while playing volleyball at Venice Beach, CA. .. It was late in the evening but I told her it would be an hour and a half before I could get to her location. She could not wait till I arrived and said that she would consider it lost for good.

The next morning Dave called asking about my services. He said his friend had lost a ring at the volleyball courts at Venice Beach. We determined that it was Melonie’s silver ring. He sent me a google earth screen shot of the location which he marked with the exact volleyball court where the loss occurred.

I drove the Venice Beach and after a couple hours I had not located the ring. I did find an iPhone X with a depleted battery.  Gave Dave a call to tell him that the ring didn’t show as started to drive home. Two blocks away I pulled over to take a second look at the screenshot he had sent me. It looked like I had been searching the wrong volleyball court. 

Turned my car around and went to the correct vollyball court. I still had trouble finding the missing silver ring. Expanding the search more than 30 feet behind the serving line. The allusive silver ring appeared in my scoop. Sent Dave a photo of the ring and waited on the beach till he met me to pick up the ring.. A few days later he sent me a picture of him giving it back to Melonie with a thank you note.

Lost in the Sand, Sentimental White Gold Diamond Pendant North Myrtle Beach SC

I got a text message from Joe Denton, Minelab and Garrett metal detector distributor in North Myrtle Beach, saying “Call this lady. Names Teresa and she lost her necklace.” Joe gets the occasional frantic calls from people looking to buy or rent a metal detector because they’ve lost a ring or other piece of Jewelry. When he does, he usually steers ‘em my way.

I called Teresa and left a message, she quickly returned my call. She said her necklace had broken and her pendant fell in the dry sand. She gave me the resort name and I told her I’d be there in about 15 minutes. When I met up with Teresa and her husband, Ronnie, they showed me the suspected spot in the dry sand. I got the details and found out the pendant was a white gold pendant with diamonds. I started up my Equinox 800 and did an east/west grid and didn’t get a signal, other than a soda can buried deep in the sand. I started a cross grid going north/south and still wasn’t picking anything up. Ronnie had told me that they were sitting in one area, went to lunch, and when they came back they moved up and over to a new spot on the beach. Teresa also said she walked down to the water to rinse her hands off after apply suntan lotion. I widened the search area, including getting wet in the incoming tide, and still wasn’t finding anything. At that point, I switched to my Gold Bug II thinking maybe the Equinox just couldn’t detect the pendant. I’ve also learned to always take a second detector; nothing is more embarrassing than to start a search and your machine’s not working. I was starting to worry that I might be searching the path they took when they went and came back from lunch, too. I started another grid line with the Gold Bug, and on my second line I got a scratchy signal. I took a small scoop of sand and laid it out, ran the detector over it and got a better signal. I spread the sand out with my foot and picked up a small patch of sand. I gently shook the sand out of the scoop and saw a shell and the back part of the pendant. I turned around to find Teresa standing on the beach, held the pendant up for her to see I found something. She got the “did he really find it” look on her face. She literally ran over, and when I handed her her pendant, she was overwhelmed! Her happiness, tears, big hug, and the Thank you is exactly why I enjoy doing this so much.

Teresa and Ronnie, so glad I could help find your special 2 year old Valentine’s Day present. Enjoy the rest of your vacation and have a safe trip back home.
