Nick was horsing around at Huntington State Beach when his ring came off and disappeared into the sand. Luckily someone near by told him about The Ring Finders.
The ring was his late brothers so it was very sentimental. When I arrived there were a few people sifting through the sand hoping it would turn up.
It only took a few minutes of searching to find this very special ring.

Karen was at a small beach in Huntington Harbor when she lost her Cartier Wedding Ring. She tried combing through the sand for a while without any luck.
Another resident helped her by posting her loss on social media and that’s when my friend tagged me on the post and I shared my info so she could reach out to me.
Karen called me a short time later with details about her loss and said she could meet me in an hour. I decided to go and try to find the ring right away without waiting for her.
I got lucky and started in the right place because I found her ring in about 5 minutes. I called her to verify that I had the correct ring. She met me at my house to pick up her ring and let me know how thankful she was.
Scott called me yesterday morning requesting my service to locate his wife’s earring. After asking Scott a few questions I agreed to meet around 2:30 pm.
His wife, Isis, had been brushing her hair outside, felt the earring come off, and then had heard a ping sound. I searched the possible area for the earring and moved some rocks. With my pin pointer I was able to locate the earring underneath the rocks. I called Isis over and showed her where I found the earring. She was very happy to have her earring back as the earring had been in her possession for a very long time.

I received a call from Noreen on June 24th regarding a diamond ring that her mother Edna had lost while out swimming in the lake the day before. After asking Noreen a few questions I agreed to drive out to the lake the next day.
June 25: I arrived at Ma Me O Beach and met Noreen and her mother Edna, at the cabin. Noreen showed me the area that they were in the lake swimming. The area was huge, approximately the size of a football field. I told Noreen that the search was going to be tough, almost like looking for a needle in a hay stack!
The search took me over four sand bars which were waist deep, and chest deep between each bar. It was good that Noreen had pictures of her mother on a float tube and this gave me a good reference point to start my search. I searched the area for about four hours and called it a day. I told Noreen I would be back the following day.
July 26: I decided to do an early morning search because the lake would be smooth like a sheet of glass which made it a pleasant time to search. The water was clear so I was able to see the sandy bottom. Noreen also wanted to assist in the search so I gave her my backup detector. We went over the search area that I did the previous day and had no luck. The weather forecast for the next few days was not good; the lake would be very rough and impossible to do a good search.
July 3: The Lake was calm and a nice day for a search. After studying the pictures and checking my GPS tracking I decided on an area but again had no luck. My equinox 800 developed problems so I changed to my 3030 and proceeded to search, again with no luck.
July 11: A very busy day at the lake with lots of people out. We covered a huge area with no luck.
July 16: I expanded my search area. I must say for a busy lake the bottom was very clean with hardly any junk in the lake. Again, another day with no luck.
July 21: I regrouped with Noreen and her brother Dan and asked again the same questions which I had asked before. I must have sounded like a broken record to them but it was very important to me. Again we did a thorough search of the area and again no luck. I could tell Noreen and Dan where starting to doubt if the ring was ever going to be found. I told them I would find that ring and that it just takes time. Edna said to me that the ring is gone and someone else was going to find it. I told her if someone was going to find it that would be me. That helped to reassure Edna. Edna had just celebrated her 93rd birthday on the day she lost her ring. The ring had been given to her by her father and had been on her finger for the past 60+ years.
July 26: I did a weather check and the lake was rough, but the day was expected to be a nice so I decided to head out again. When I arrived, the lake was rough so I waited it out and by noon the wind died down so we were able to search again. I told Noreen that I was going to find the ring today if I had to stay in the lake all day! Two hours into the search I received a loud tone followed by a sweet low tone. Music to my ears! I knew it could be the ring. I scooped it up and to my surprise there was the ring! I walked over to Noreen and asked her if this was “IT”. She could not believe that I had found her mother’s ring after so many hours in the lake searching. What a wonderful feeling that was for me to be able to see Edna put the ring back on her finger.

Lorena was visiting town and enjoying Ocean Beach with some friends and placed her ring in the cup holder of her chair. Time to leave, the chair got folded up, and the ring ended up in the dry sand. A common way rings get lost. Searching was fruitless and Lorena had to go back home up north. She contacted me to ask for my help in finding it. She had planned on returning the next morning to show me the search area, but, having already been a full day on the loose, I had her give me directions as to where she was when the ring fell into the sand. She did better than that. She had some photos that were taken while she was there in that location. Knowing that beach well, I could find that spot fairly easily. Finding the ring might be another thing! I waited until the sun went down so I could actually find a parking spot on a Saturday night. Not easy, but, I lucked into one. The beach was still mobbed with party goers. I made a beeline west toward the water and straight through the middle of search area. Before I got there, I see another guy detecting right through where I planned to search. He didn’t stop for any targets, so, i began my grid. Off to the right was a large group still camped on the beach, so, I started on the left. Made a dozen passes or so without so much as a pull tab. Not a good sign. Somebody (maybe the guy who I first saw) had already scoured the area? At that point, the crowd on the right was picking up and leaving. Great, I can now search the other side before I try to track down the other detectorist to see if he may have found the ring. Still not much in the way of targets until I made 5-6 passes and got a solid 6 on my Equinox. That’s usually a foil drink seal, but, I scooped it anyway as small gold can read in that range. Sure enough, a drink seal. Drat! Moved another 2 feet and got another solid 6 reading. Another juice seal I bet, was what I was thinking, but, after scooping it up, I discovered her ring! As I surveyed the spot I found it, I realized that the other detectorist had missed it by no more than a couple of feet! I texted Lorena that she would have to come back down to San Diego after all, but, instead of having to show me where the search area would be, she could pick up her ring. On 07/18/2020, I received a phone call from Rebecca requesting my help in finding her lost wedding rings in the sand on the beach in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. Rebecca had been on the beach with her family when she took her wedding rings off of her finger in order to put sunscreen on her son. Rebecca placed her rings on their blanket right in front of her chair and she forgot to put them back on her finger. Rebecca stated that she did not notice that her rings were missing until they had left the beach so she went back to the beach to look for them and was unable to find them. Rebecca stated that a lady that was on the beach overheard that she had lost her rings and that same lady provided Rebecca with my telephone number. I met Rebecca at the beach and she showed me the area where she had been sitting when she took her rings off. I began a grid search of the area and during the first pass I recovered a quarter. I turned and began my second pass and as I got to the end of it I was able locate the two lost rings hiding in the soft sand. I handed Rebecca her recovered rings at which time she began to cry, she stated that she really did not think that I would be able to find her rings and then when I did she became emotional. Rebecca and I were starting to walk towards the dunes in order to take some pictures, I was greeted by a lady by the name of Donna and her husband. Donna had been the one who had given my telephone number to Rebecca, I had recovered a lost Gold/Diamond ring for Donna and her husband on Rehoboth Beach on 07/16/2018 and they had kept my information. I thanked them for the referral.

Mariana called me around 6am this morning and stated that she and her husband Erik were enjoying a fire at the beach the night before.
Mariana put both her wedding and engagement rings in the cup holder of her chair for safe keeping while doing the usual beach activities.
When it was time to leave she picked up her beach chair then remembered her rings were in the cup holder only to find one of them fell out.
The state beach was closing so they had to give up their search. They showed up early the next morning and began searching again when a passerby asked them what they were looking for then forwarded my information to them.
I was able to find her ring amongst all the pieces of foil, pull tabs and bottle caps that are always present near the fire pits.

Hector and his wife were enjoying a nice day at the beach when she stood up after placing her rings on her dress. They went airborne and plunged into the soft sand, they searched the small area for 20 minutes but could not locate them. This was a quick recovery, I had both rings out of the sand in about 2 minutes and they were very happy to get the rings back.
An early evening call from a very distressed and emotional young lady, Krista, pushed me to the limits to find a lost combination ring of great sentimental value. So much so that I went out at dusk to look for it. I only had about 45 minutes of daylight left but did my best to no avail.
The next day I had plans to detect with another Ring Finder, Gary Bonin from Woonsocket RI. I had to change our plans and go looking for the lost ring. Nothing we would not have done, as long as were were enjoying our hobby, we would have a great day. With sunrise and permission to park at the resort Gary and I headed into the water to search for the ring. Hours past, the tide went out and came back in without either of us finding the ring. My mouth was drying out, I had used my last bottle of water the night before so it was time for me to call it a day. Gary on the other hand wanted to finish covering an area before leaving. OK, another 15 minutes I could survive. I was not paying any attention to holding a grid pattern and just wandered aimlessly when my detector’s audio signal brought me back to reality. I looked down to my coil, where to place my scoop and much to my surprise I saw THE ring! What a ring, it made my knees shaky, my heart rate went up, all was great. Had it not been for Gary wanting to stay just a bit longer, the recovery would not have been made without another search, another day.
Krista, a quite remarkable person, what an interesting life she has lead. Within the first hour of this vacation she with her two sons and husband were playing a bit of football in the cooling water of Nantucket Sound. Her ring had never slipped off in the water either salt, fresh or pool. This day was different for whatever reason it did followed by frantic searching over the next 5 days. Krista had to leave the Cape, the traumatic vacation was now a thing of the past. She had kept up her best spirits as to not spoil the vacation for all involved. But she was not to give up on finding her ring.
Social media came into play. A plead for help lead Krista to TheRingFinders.com and to my name and contact information.
If you have read this far you know she was to have her ring returned. Many options were mulled over such as mail, a 4 hour drive to pick the ring up, seek help on social media… The last provided the perfect solution. Sandy and Larry, close friends of Krista, were leaving Cape Cod the next day and were to make a drive to my house, pick up the ring, and return it to Krista on Saturday.
Covid19 be danged, Krista asked Sandy to give me a “big, well deserved hug”. Somethings just have to be done. This return is one that will certainly be one of my top 5 of the 243 I have now made, almost half while a member of TheRingFinders.
