Beautiful gold heirloom ring lost, recovered and returned in Newark, DE!!!

Zack and Yasmine contacted me via the Ring Finders directory after losing a beautiful gold ring several weeks earlier. They were enjoying the first snowfall of the year on the campus of the University of Delaware in Newark, DE when her ring came up missing. The ring, which was originally her mothers, flew off her finger during a snowball fight. Yasmine distinctly felt the ring come off during a throw and despite searching several times she and Zack could not find it. I met them on campus and they had the good sense to remember the precise area where the snowball fight occurred. I started the search with my Minelab Manticore metal detector(15 inch coil) in the area she was standing when she made the throw and used a grid pattern to cover the 25 square yard area. When i didn’t find on my first scan of the area I expanded my search area and started to cover a wider area. A gold ring on the surface has a very distinct and unique signature on a metal detector and I was hyper focused on just that signal when BOOM!  I got the signal I was hoping for…I looked down…I didn’t even have to bend down…there on the surface was her beautiful gold ring!!! I called Zack and Yasmine over and pointed down…the happiness on their faces made my day!

LOST 18K GOLD ENGAGEMENT RING IN SALISBURY, NC…..FOUND!!!!

This young man called me up saying he lost his wife’s 18k gold engagement ring! I’m thinking to myself, “HOW DID YOU LOSE IT?!?” I said ok tell me what happend..

Story goes, It was getting dark, they were on a walk enjoying spending time together. It was cold, they were horsing around and she was afraid of losing her ring so she takes it off and puts it on her thumb to slid it into her husband’s shirt pocket for “SAFE KEEPING”!! A few mins later he did something to cause her to chase him and he stumbles and falls down a slope. He didn’t think anything about it until he realized he lost his watch. Then he checked his shirt pocket, and his heart sank, the ring wasn’t there!!!!

He called me up and I shot over in the dark. He wasn’t 100% sure where he fell so I was scanning about 50 yards of possibilities. Lots if signales and sadly I didn’t find it that night. I advised him to try and find his watch during the day and to try and narrow the search area a little.

The next day he goes back to site and finds his watch. It was just about dark again and rain was coming in on Saturday. So I told him I’ll be there first thing Sunday morning!

I arrive, get my gear and we walk over to where he found his watch. I set my machine to 40-61 range, because the ring looked very thin. I didn’t find it, so I changed my range to VDI 40-72. BOOM! Got a 62 and there it was just under some dirt!!!

I love helping people find lost items! It makes my heart happy and to see the joy, happiness and relief on their face!

Well 2026 is off to a GOLDEN start!!!

Got a call from this guys sister-in-law saying her brother-in-law had lost his wedding ring at a volleyball pit while they were playing.

Story goes his back was to the net, hit the ball up and the ring flew off. They searched as best as they could but couldn’t find it. After about an hour i found it!

It had landed in the area of server spot.

Found out after I found it, it was actually a family heirloom!! The ring had belonged to his father. He gave it to him for his wedding.

LOST HEIRLOOM / 14K ENGAGEMENT GOLD RING LOST IN TAYLORSVILLE, NC……FOUND!!!

Received a call today from a young lady who asked about my ring recovery services. After a few mins of going over the details, she agreed she wanted me to come out and try to find her 14k engagement ring.

She lost her ring while doing some yardwork about four months prior to calling me. She provided me her address and said they wouldn’t be home. I advised her I will go and if found, I will put it in a secure location and send her the details.

I drive an hour and forty-five mins to get to her house. Set up my machine to locate the ring in the range it should have been in. VDI 40-65 on the Deus 2. After about an hour I get a VDI 48 and dig down about 2-3 inches and I see the beautiful gold roundness that I had been hoping for!!

After I sent her the pictures to confirm I had found it, she proceeds to tell me that not only had it been lost for 4 months, but it was also her husband’s Great Grandmothers ring!!! 😱😱😱 A priceless family heirloom that means a lot more than just a symbol of their love.

I love what I do, because of happy stories just like this that makes me hate even more the ones I can’t find!

Received a text from a very nice young lady asking for help.  Her husband lost his white gold ring the night before while taking out the trash.  He thought he lost it in the snow between the trash can and the mailbox when he took off his gloves.  He was right!  Not much fun hunting when its nine degrees, but finding the ring made it great.

Received a text from a gentleman saying his wife had lost her white gold class ring after removing snow off her car. She shook her hands and the ring came flying off and lost.

We agree to a date/time. I get up there and begin my search about an hour later I found it. It was about 10-15 feet and opposite side of where they thought it went.

A Smoky Mountain Ring Recovery: Kayleigh’s Story

Kayleigh had traveled to a cozy cabin tucked away in the Great Smoky Mountains of Tennessee to celebrate her friend Haley’s birthday. With fresh mountain air, scenic views, and a balcony overlooking the trees below, it was the perfect setting for a weekend getaway.

But during the celebration, the unexpected happened.

While enjoying time on the cabin balcony, Kayleigh’s ring slipped off and disappeared into the unknown below. Anyone who has lost something irreplaceable knows the sinking feeling that follows. The excitement of the trip was quickly replaced with worry and disappointment.

Determined not to give up, the group made a trip to a local sporting goods store and purchased a metal detector, hoping to find the ring themselves. They searched… and searched… but without experience or the right equipment, their efforts came up empty.

That’s when Kayleigh’s mom stepped in.

Using ChatGPT, she searched for a professional ring-finding metal detectorist and was led to me through www.theringfinders.com. She reached out, explained the situation, and asked if I could help.

I couldn’t respond right away due to work but I contacted the VRBO owner and got his permission to come out the very next day.

The next day I packed my gear and made the drive—about 1 hour and 35 minutes—into the Smoky Mountains. Once on site, I used the detailed photos of the area to estimate where the ring was lost, I assessed the terrain below the balcony, and got to work.

About 20 minutes later, my detector gave the signal we were hoping for.

There it was—Kayleigh’s ring, recovered from the ground below the cabin. Another lost ring found and another story with a happy ending.

Now, with the ring safely in hand, I drove nearly two hours to meet Kayleigh’s husband so the ring can be returned where it belongs—back with its owner, along with the memories and meaning it carries.

This is why I do what I do.

Rings aren’t just jewelry. They’re symbols of love, commitment, and life’s most important moments. Being able to reunite someone with something that meaningful never gets old.

Lost White Gold Man’s Wedding Ring in Grove City, OH. “FOUND”

I received a call about a lost wedding band that had gone missing somewhere in the backyard. It happened on an ordinary snowy day while the homeowner was outside playing with the dog. When he came back inside, he realized the ring was no longer on his finger. He checked his camera footage and confirmed it had been lost outdoors, but pinpointing the exact spot was the challenge.

Although much of the snow had already melted, the ring was still nowhere to be found. I was able to schedule and perform a search within a few days of the loss. I began by thoroughly scanning most of the backyard with no success, so I continued expanding the search into other areas. Eventually, the ring was discovered tucked away near the stairs leading up to the deck—carefully hidden out of sight.

The homeowner was incredibly relieved and grateful to have the wedding band returned.

Today I had the opportunity to help a young gentleman named Luke search for his lost wedding band out in the Bloomfield, VT Wildlife Management Area. After tracking through thick brush, uneven ground, and more than 4½ miles of searching, we finally found it.

There’s nothing better than seeing the look of relief and gratitude when something so meaningful is recovered. Proud to have been able to help and glad Luke’s ring is back where it belongs. 🥾🔍💍

Metal Detector finds a lost ring in a snowbank in Minneapolis Mn.

A Ring Lost in a Minneapolis Snowbank, Recovered by The Ring Finders
Ring Finder  Paul Nolan received a call that was referred to me by Darrin Gray, another Ring Finder who was unable to assist at the time. The call came from a very distraught woman visiting Minneapolis from Nevada. One thing that’s not needed very often in Las Vegas is a snow scraper and brush. While here, they encountered a light snowfall on their parked car in downtown Minneapolis, Minnesota. When they returned to their car, they needed to clean the windows. Without a brush, they used their hands to sweep off the snow. But no good deed goes unpunished, and a very sentimental ring was lost somewhere in the snow. This sparked a frantic search, including the purchase of a couple of metal detectors. They hunted for the next three hours without success. That’s when they realized they needed to call in someone with more expertise in locating lost rings. I happened to be relaxing when the phone rang. You could hear the tremble in her voice—this was a panic-stricken person who’d lost a deeply sentimental item and desperately needed help finding it. I told her I’d be downtown in about 45 minutes. Before long, we connected by phone, and I found myself following her car. We circled the block and pulled over on the side of a main thoroughfare in Minneapolis. There was slush everywhere on the road. We got out, surveyed the area, and I started the hunt. I cleared the road and the parking area along it—nothing. I checked the snow pile created by the snowplow—nothing on the roadside. I was concerned about a car parked nearby; maybe the ring was underneath it. I pressed on to the sidewalk, scanning the sidewalk side of the snowplow windrow. Suddenly, I got a target. I started moving some snow with my boot, but then I lost the signal. Where did it go? It was right here. I kept trying to recover the signal, but it was gone. I’d kicked an ice chunk, and I may have kicked the ring too, because about three feet away, I picked up the target again. I nudged a little snow aside with my metal detector, and something sparkled. I spotted it at the same time the women did. The happiness, the relief—the fear of losing the ring was over, and everything fell back into order in their lives. What a beautiful ring it was! I am so happy for them and now a part of the history of her ring.
