Class Ring Lost 20 Days Prior On Topsail Beach, Found By Crystal Coast Ring Finders

Taylor texted me August 15th with a message stating, « This is a complete shot in the dark but I lost a ring in the last week of July at Topsail Island »

This class ring belonged to her mother.  Taylor said she was given the ring when she was 6 years old and has worn it off and on for nearly twenty years.

She informed me the ring was lost above the high tide line.  I explained that the odds are low especially if it was lost in the ocean or close to a public parking access as other detectorist hunt these places on a regular basis.  Taylor still wanted me to give it a shot and my reply was « I agree.  If nobody searches, there is no hope.  We have found rings that were lost a longer period of time… »  Upon arrival, I was becoming concerned as there were 2 public parking lots within 150 yards of the beach house her family rented.  I started from the path to the beach house, walked just below the high tide line. I began my walk back towards the house when an iffy signal on my Minelab CTX-3030 caught my attention.  When on a recovery search, I dig almost every signal so my scoop went to work and plucked out her ring on the very first scoop.  I must admit, it even surprised me!  I was so very happy to find her ring that had been lost for 20 days.

Black Diamonds ARE Forever. Lost,Cape Cod,Found,Returned, Yarmouth Beach

A call came in yesterday, to help find a Wedding Band that was lost the day prior in waste deep water. Rick called and asked if I wanted to go, I said he was on his own for this one, that I had a few things to do. I thought about how vast the area was, so I called back, and said I’ll meet him at his house ASAP. We met Stephanie and Chris at the beach lot about an hour later. They seemed real precise as to where they thought it to be. They walked out ahead of us, as we got ready for the search. Rick and I walked out about a mile onto the sand, then into waste deep water. We both searched for quite some time with no luck two junk targets a bullet and a penny.

I asked Chris to regroup, and stand where he thought it was, he was having second thoughts, he moved about 150 feet over.  Again Rick and I searched, and searched, still nothing. I then asked Stephanie where she thought it was lost, and to go over and stand there, so I could start my search over. Rick was still out far and walking away from Chris with no targets at all. I headed towards Stephanie, as I approached her, I said  » I just don’t get it, I just don’t get it. Not a signal in that whole area, even after an hour, it’s crazy. I told her not to give up till she sees us walking toward the truck. That if it was there and I went over it that I would hear it. I think Chris and Stephanie were about to throw in the beach towel, but as I walked by her, finally a very loud signal 4 feet away from where she was standing in the water. I looked over to her and smiled, Her eyes got huge, her smile even bigger, she had a hard time controlling her emotions. Stephanie knew, I had just recovered what they both thought was lost forever, King Neptune finally gave in to me. Stephanie was shaking, I’m not sure if it was from the cold, or from being excited. She yelled over to Chris, he started to run fast as he could in the water, I yelled faster, faster, he couldn’t get there fast enough to see what the commotion was all about. Rick knew already I had just found Chris’s  beautiful 14K white gold wedding band, with black diamonds set into the center. I handed it over to Chris as he teared up also. So gratifying to see it back on his finger.

Lot’s of congratulations and hand shakes went around, Chris kept repeating he just couldn’t believe we did what we said we would do. Great team work is always a plus. Wedding Band Lost In North Topsail Beach Surf Found And Returned

I received a late evening text from Danny.  He mentioned he lost his ring in the shallow surf and asked if I could help.  I checked the tide chart and told him, to his surprise,  I’d be there at 5 a.m.  I brought along a friend to help out and we headed towards the area Danny thought he had lost the ring.  After more than 2 hours of searching both beach and water, his ring was not found.  That same afternoon, my friend informed Danny that he was coming back to search the area once more.  Upon arrival, a family member mentioned a different area that they had set up the day before and the new area was searched.  It was a very short hunt as Danny’s ring was quickly located in the very shallow surf.  It was about the same time Danny and his wife were just coming back onto the beach and were very happy and relieved his ring was found and returned.

Lost Engagement Ring At Atlantic Beach,NC Pier Found By Crystal Coast Ring Finders

Robert and his family were spending the day next to Oceanana Pier in Atlantic Beach, NC.  Rob’s wife placed her wedding rings inside of a can cooler sleeve and then inside the beach bag under the umbrella.  She had told me that she told Rob about the rings location but he informed me he didn’t hear her.  They had moved a couple of the lounge chairs closer to the water and about 20 yards from the the original setup.  Rob went to retrieve some of the can sleeves and both rings fell out on the way to the chair.  He said the wedding band was located, but was still unable to find her diamond ring.  When I arrived, I was hoping they fell out at the same time and her engagement ring would be very close to the wedding band…Nope.  After a thorough search of the setup area, I started to grid search towards the lounge chairs.  After a few trash objects removed from the beach, I plucked her lost ring out with only part of it exposed in the pile of sand.  I asked Rob, « Do you see what I see? »  He bent down and picked up her missing ring.

Holgate NJ (LBI) Lost Engagement Ring in the Sand recovered by Edward Trapper NJ Ring Finder August 2022

Got a call today from Justin. He was at the beach in Holgate NJ (LBI) with his fiancé, Samantha. After setting up their chairs and umbrella, Sam took off her shorts, placed them with her stuff, and took a walk down by the water. It was then she realized her beautiful platinum engagement ring was gone. She quickly went back and looked in her pocket where she had placed it when applying sun block, back by at the car, before heading to the beach. It was not there and she was devastated. They contacted me, and after a short conversation we decided to do the recovery. I cleared the area of a few bottle caps, then pow!!! the low platinum signal I was looking for. They were amazed I had found it. This one was SUPER special, they are getting married next month, and now have the ring back for the ceremony

Surf City NJ (LBI) Lost Wedding Ring on the Beach recovered by Edward Trapper NJ Ring Finder August 2022

Got a call from Susan about her ring she dropped in the sand today in Surf City NJ. It had great sentimental value to her, as I could tell after just a short time on the phone. Lucky I was able to arrive promptly, as she had made reservations for later in the afternoon. Kudos to her and her husband for preparing the area it was lost, which made for a quick recovery. A very short time later they were on their way, with her cherished ring back on her finger. So many happy memories doing this.

Craigville Beach, Cape Cod, MA Lost Ring Found and Returned

After a four-hour search for a lost ring, we returned to Leighton’s truck. We listened to a voice message about a lost wedding band. As the loss was on the opposite tide side of Cape Cod, we were on our way, hoping for a better search result; it was not yet time to call it a day. Leighton and I have teamed up for a few reasons: 1) companionship while traveling, 2) it increases the chances to find a lost item, and 3) we can cover twice the area in the time it would take one of us to search it alone.

We met up with Doug. After some fancy parking and a short synopsis of the previous day’s happening Doug led us to the area where he had lost his wedding band while teaching his 3-year-old daughter the thrill of the summertime beach. Feelings of a great beach day got a bit more intense when Doug lost his balance and braced himself with his left hand on the sandy bottom of Nantucket Sound. His daughter stayed high and dry, more than Doug could say about his wedding band. It had slipped from his ring finger and was to stay submerged for a day.

Several searchers using snorkels and goggles were unsuccessful in locating the ring just after it was “lost”. As usual our searching started with a grid search around the area Doug was standing at when he felt the ring slip from his finger. A crisscross search failed in locating the hiding ring. About 40 minutes into the search, I started a diagonal search pattern going well beyond the center of our previous search area. I am glad, as is Doug, that I went some 35 feet closer to the shoreline where I heard an all too familiar tone in my ears. About 10 inches down into the moving sand the wayward ring was in my scoop. It stayed there until Doug came to look into the scoop and identify the ring. Yes, it was his.

After a walk and talk going back to the parking lot, a few pictures, and many Thank You gestures from Doug he was on his way home. Wearing his wedding band and a smile from ear to ear he was anxious to get home and tell his wife the ring had been found and returned to his finger. I may be wrong but I think I heard Doug mention something about letting his wife wait a bit longer for the news so he could show and tell about the find in person.

Leighton and I both felt much better than about 2 hours before. Earlier we had not given up on searching for the other ring we were searching for. We just needed to rethink our search technique, change our detectors and their coil size and return another day to continue the search…We Never Give Up Hope!

Lost cross in the lagoon, Forked River NJ, July 2022

Curtis called asking if I could do a recovery in the lagoon behind his house. After going over some details, I told him I would be there soon. He was playing with the dog in the lagoon when his paw accidently broke the chain, and the cross dropped to the bottom before he could grab it. In almost neck deep water I got a faint signal, and sure enough, that was it.

Got a call from Ashley yesterday (Saturday) about her husbands lost ring. She explained how Jeff was throwing a football around the tide line when the ring flew off his hand and dropped into the wet sand. After talking a bit, we decided low tide was so late we would wait till the AM low tide to do the recovery, the surf was fairly calm, so it wouldn’t move to much. Jeff did an outstanding job marking the exact location of the ring, which is paramount when doing recoveries. A few swings later the ring was in the scoop.

Mens White Gold Wedding Band Lost/Found Rehoboth Beach Delaware

On 07/16/22, I was contacted by Guy requesting help in locating his white gold mans wedding band that had been lost on the beach in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. Guy stated that he had placed his wedding band in a zippered pocket of his bathing suit for safe keeping while he was swimming. Guy said that after he came out of the water, he had put another item in the same pocket of his bathing suit that he had placed his ring. Guy stated that he believed that his ring had fallen out of his pocket into the sand when he removed the other item from the pocket for someone to look at. I met Guy at the beach at 6:00 pm after the beach was clear of people. Guy was able to place me in the exact area that he believed that his ring had fallen out of his pocket into the sand. I began a grid search and on my second pass I was able to recover the lost ring. The lost ring was returned to its rightful owner so that Guy would be able to celebrate his upcoming 20th wedding anniversary with his original wedding band on his finger.
