Lost Diamond Engagement Ring In Delta, BC…Found!

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

Last night at around 10:15 pm I received a call from a young man that explained to me that his fiancé had lost her engagement ring on the side of the road where they were walking. In actual fact he accidentally pulled the ring off while holding her hand and it went flying into the grass, the ring wasn’t fitting the young lady perfectly it was a bit loose.

You can only imagine the disappointment and heartbreak this young couple felt for over an hour and a half of searching for the ring in the grass and waiting for me to arrive.

When I arrived I was greeted by  young couple and they explain the situation and  showed me what happened. I took a look at the search area and thought to myself this could be a fast recovery… but most times when I think that… it’s the exact opposite.

I set up my searchlights I set up my GoPro camera and tuned up my Garrett AT Gold and began to search, we had a young lady on a bike stop to watch and within 10 seconds I had found the ring!

Smiles everywhere! Its the greatest feeling in the world for me to see how happy you can make someone! And the young lady in the video was so happy for the couple as well. I truly have the greatest job in the world!

Lost and Found Gold and Diamond Ring in Cloverdale, BC

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

I got a call from young man by the name of Will yesterday afternoon explaining that his mother had lost her diamond anniversary ring of 25 years. He said when she went to tie her shoes the ring slipped off her finger and fell between the gaps of their front deck. They spend a lot of time searching the area and her husband went under the deck and looked around for the ring but couldn’t find it. They had plans later that day and I told them to enjoy themselves and I’d be over first thing in the morning to find the ring.

I told Will to let his mother know it would be found. I understand what a helpless feeling that is when you just can’t find something you know is there!

When I woke up this morning it was pouring rain, I put on my rain gear and started heading out to Cloverdale to meet Will and his father. When I got there we discussed the search and I saw where Will’s father had been looking under the front deck. He told me that it was the ring he gave his wife for their 25th anniversary and that was 25 years ago…They are married now for 50 years! Amazing…He looks like he’s 50!!

I set up my cameras and picked up my detector to search the perimeter and started my search under the deck. It didn’t take long before I got a good signal on the pin pointer and I moved the long grass and there was her beautiful diamond ring!

Unfortunately Will’s mother wasn’t there to see the rain being found but her husband will give it to her…Or will he? After talking to him I think he’s going to prank her…I love a good joke but I hope she doesen’t get mad and kick him out…

Thank you Mr. Hebert and Will for the very kind reward!

Lost Diamond Engagement Ring Found in Cloverdale, BC…Thanks to Story In The Province Newspaper By Reporter Jennifer Saltman

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

Thanks to a story in Province  Newspaper by reporter Jennifer Saltman who wrote about a meteorite ring that was lost and found… it helped a young lady by the name of Julie from Langley BC find her lost diamond engagement ring ! Thank you Jennifer for doing such a great story and mentioning The Ring Finders Directory, I know Julie would like to thank you as well.

This is the story… Julie was working (landscaping) in Cloverdale on a very wet and rainy day and was getting ready to go home when she took off her gloves and noticed that her diamond engagement ring was missing… This ring was very special to Julie because it has her late grandmother’s gold wedding band melted into her diamond engagement. This was something her husband had made for her and it was very, very special as you can imagine.

You see Julie lost it while working and the only way she could’ve lost it was when she took her gloves off. She remembered only taking her gloves off a 2 or 3 times during the day to answer her phone. At the end of the day she realized her ring was missing, she raced back to the area and looked and searched but could not find the ring. This is where the Province Newspaper comes into play… Julie called her mother to tell her what happened at work and how devastated she was,  her mother then tells her about a story in the Province Newspaper that she just read the other day about a company called The Ring Finders and how there’s a person that helps people find their lost rings.

Julie called me right away and we discussed the search and set a time to meet and search for her lost ring. Just a few hours later we met at the parking lot where she was working, she showed me the 3 areas that she believed the ring could be…After searching the first 2 areas and no luck I mentioned to Julie that depending how she took her gloves off could effect how far her ring could fly. If she gently took off her gloves the ring would fall beside her, but if she pulled on a finger and yanked the glove off quickly it could make the ring go flying. The fact the ring was round and hevey could make it go even farther as it could roll on the concrete. I continued to close off the 3rd area and was ready to double check before expanding my grid search when a very said looking Julie approached me holding something in her hand…It was her ring!

She said that after we talked about the flick factor and that the ring could go flying she started to search away from the area that she thought it was lost in. 30 feet or so away from the first location she found her ring in the middle of the street flattened like a pancake! The centre diamond and other smaller diamonds were missing and I could tell how hard it was for her to believe what she was seeing. We talked for a few minutes and I told her how excited I was that she found her own ring. How she has the original ring that she was married with and also the fact that it has her late grandmothers wedding band that was melted into her ring. I knew when I saw the ring that it could be fixed and it will be like knew soon! Julie soon realized that she was very lucky to have the ring back and the fact that she found it makes this story even more special.

Lost Diamond Wedding Ring in Vancouver Garden…Found!

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

One week ago I received a call from a young lady explaining to me that her mother may have lost her diamond engagement ring in her garden. After talking for a few minutes she said that she wasn’t clear if her mother lost the ring in the garden or if it was lost in her house.I told her that I wouldn’t be able to make it until the weekend, five days later, so that if her mother could check the house good and cannot find it I would come to search the yard on the weekend.Well come Thursday I received a call that they didn’t find the ring in the house and that they needed my service, so we arranged a meeting for 11 AM on Saturday morning. When I arrived I met a very lovely lady named Wendy who told me why she thought the ring could be lost in her backyard. She goes on to tell me that she was doing some yard work and watering the plants and pulling out some bushes and branches which is a very good way to lose a ring. This diamond engagement ring was very special to Wendy because she lost her husband last year as you can imagine the ring meant the world to her. She told me that ring was given to her in 1967 when her husband, boyfriend at the time proposed to her. She remembered that her husband was making payments on the ring… $10 a week and she had the payment sheet showing all the payments he made until it was paid off.I have to tell you I was really praying that I would find this ring for her, so I began my search in the area in the backyard that she showed me where she was pulling branches and watering plants. Wendy had to go in the house to get a battery for her hearing aid and within minutes I had found the ring!  I was so excited and couldn’t wait to show her what I’d found. When Wendy came back outside I showed her her ring and she was so happy! A I have the best job in the in the world! I get to make people smile…Every ring has a story and that story ends when the ring is lost…What I do is get to help continue that story by find that lost ring…This story was a love story about a lady who loved her husband very much and will miss him dearly. Thanks for reading my blogs! If you have lost something and need it found…Call me ASAPYou can watch the video of the search below.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ImXCfVjnl84

Lost Wedding Band at Jericho Beach, Vancouver

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

I received a phone call from a friend that I work with that told me that his friend lost his wedding ring at Jericho Beach when he was swimming. He goes on to tell me that he’s at the beach the next morning searching for it because his friend couldn’t be there as he had to work… Then it hit him…I know  a guy who finds lost rings! (Me) He tells me that his friend had lost his ring while they took a swim and that he was married for over 25 years so it was extremely sentimental.

I happen to have the day off so I rushed out there to help him find his friends lost ring. When I get there the tide is slowly coming in and he shows me an area where he believes the ring was lost.

After 10 minutes of searching I found a silver native carved ring so I popped it out of the sand and left it were it was found so I could come back and film it. Later Marty goes to move the bag closer to shore and see’s the ring. He thinks its the native ring that I told him I found the day before at that beach…I told him that I found that one but I thought that he told me that it was a white gold ring that I was looking for…

Well we decided to call his friend to see what his ring looked like and this was the match! I don’t get to meet his friend but here is the picture of  a good friend, who did what he could to do to help find his buddies ring for him…

He also made a donation to my charity(Children’s Hospital) because I wouldn’t except anything for my time…Thanks Marty!!!Lost something? Call me ASAP!I love my job!

Lost Palladium Wedding Band at a Baseball Field in Vancouver, BC…Found!

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

I was driving home from two earlier searches when I received a call in regards to a young man’s lost wedding band that was made out of palladium.

The young man told me that he lost it the night before and searched with some friends but didn’t find it. When I showed up at the park there were kids everywhere…Summer soccer camps and other events but that didn’t stop us for asking if we could search the area,  the coaches were kind enough to let us search…

After 30 minutes of searching in a high potential area that John felt the ring could be in, I moved to the fence where it made sense to John and I that the ring could be in that area due to taking off his glove after the innings…

There it was in the long grass not far from a dirt patch and I was delighted to see it looking back up at me! You see John was just about to leave to go back to work, so the timing was perfect to surprise him! That I did…

Thanks for the kind reward John!

2 Lost Rings in the UBC Area / Spanish Banks…Found

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

Smiles are the best things we find! I got a call from a young lady that tells me she lost two rings while on a big water slide that was made for a party with lots of friends. The rings meant a lot to Fran and she thought she’d never see the rings again so she was going to rent a metal detector and went on line and found The Ring Finders Directory.

My wife and I met Fran at 8PM just before it got dark and she showed us the huge hill where they had the slide that weekend. I could see the flatten grass where the slide was placed and this helped with our grid search.

After just minutes of turning on my big flood light we found one ring that was flattened into the ground. After a 14 hour day at work then 2 hours into the search we decided to call it a night. I knew it would take daylight to find the second ring as it was hard to do a grid in the low light we had.

We sent a picture of the ring to Fran and told her we’d go out and search on the weekend for the gold & jade ring. I went out and bought a new metal detector(Whites V3i) and I was excited to give it a go, our son wanted to join the search and Beverley and I were excited to have him as the search area was pretty huge.

I wasn’t feeling all that great when we got there and it was a hot day so I slowly started to set up my new detector and Jamie ask me if he could give it a go, I said sure and his mother let him use the Whites XLT that she was going to use. I just started to grid search when I hear Jamie and Beverley shouting…Found It! Found It! I’m thinking found what? It was almost like Jamie walked right to the ring!

With such a big area to search that day Jamie knocked it out of the park! I was so proud of him and happy to know that I could go home and rest…Like his mother he has the knack of find what people thought was lost forever.

I love my job & family!

Lost Ring at Boundary Bay, Centennial Beach, Tsawwassen BC…Found

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

We received an email at 1o:15 pm from a young man that lost his ring at Centennial Beach, Boundary Bay, Tsawwassen. The strange thing was that we had a search that morning for a man’s lost ring in water. It was a massive area and we found it in a few hours…My wife found it! She was so excited!!! that video will be up as soon as we meet the person who lost the ring and give it back…

So this search Danny told me that he knew the area the ring came off at and my question was did you lose it by a log? Yes he replied, not far from a log. I knew we had to hit the beach ASAP because if we waited till the next day someone could beat us to it…

We met up and discussed the search and set out to the location he lost the ring. I have a big  battery powered light that lit the way to the area he lost his ring.

Because Beverley found the last ring at this beach she decided that she’d find this one too. Danny was confident that the ring was lost in a relatively small area so Beverly started her grid search and within 5-10 minutes she found his ring!

Beverley was so happy that Dan got his ring back and this was only the second time we ever hunted this beach! The same day Beverley found a diamond ring(32 diamonds) for a man that lost it a week before we were able to search for it…

I’m so happy that my wife is excited to compete with me…I just hope she lets me find a few!

Found Wedding & Engagement Rings at The Dog Park, Kits Beach.

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

Just before I was getting ready to call it a night I received an email that a young lady had lost both her wedding & engagement rings at the dog park at Kits Beach. I emailed the person right away and asked them to call me, minutes later we were discussing the search.

Because the rings were lost at such a high risk area…(beach and by a log) I knew that we’d have to get out ASAP to search for the rings. The young man agreed to meet me at 11:45 pm, we met and he showed me the area he thought the rings would be in…

After a few swings of my metal detector and no rings I began to move to the front of the log where they never searched for the rings and within a minute I found one of the rings…

Minutes after the wedding ring was found I found the engagement ring! Smiles all around! The rings were not where he thought they’d be but its my job to think of why they’re not there and expand my search area. For some reason the rings were deep! After discussing the search he told me that they have a 70 lb. dog that was play right were the rings where found…

Lost Antique Silver Earring in Richmond BC

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

Hi all, I received a call about 3 + weeks back in regards to a search for a lost antique silver earring. The lady was heading out of town for a few weeks and due to work I couldn’t get out before she left on her trip. We agreed to touch basis later when she got back in town, I got the call and off I went to search for a silver earring.

When we met I could tell how frustrated  Trudy was with the thought of never finding it. She really loved her earrings and it was only recent she had her ears pierced.

I started my search and 25 minutes into to it I found  earring, I was as happy as Trudy when I found it. Its hard when people don’t know where the item is lost, sometimes these searches give people closure…This was a fun search!

I love my job!
