Sentimental Wedding Ring Recovered in Sand at Seal Beach, CA. .. Using a Metal Detector

  • from Newport Beach (California, United States)

*** It was a Wednesday after a day at work, Jared and his took his son to Seal Beach, CA. for a walk on the beach just before sunset. It’s winter and the city has a 20ft. sand berm built up to protect beach front homes from high surf.

They took a few minutes to play around on the steep sand berm while leaving the beach. Jared felt his ring slip from his finger immediately disappearing in the sand. It was cold, getting dark and  they had to get home for dinner. Jared felt he may have a better chance to find his ring the next day as it’s only a couple miles from his home.

Using the internet to get ideas on how to find a ring in the sand, he found my information on TheRingFinders website. He called right away, which I recommend for items lost on the beach. Jared told me where and what had happened. I knew exactly where the loss had happened because I lived a block away for over 20 years.

We met at the beach a half hour after the call. Jared showed me the general area. I turned on my metal detector backing away 15 or 20ft. to get a few practice swings. BOOM! The first two swings produced a positive signal that was his wedding ring. Jared was surprised that we had a successful recovery in such a short time. I give him credit for calling me ASAP. Metal detectors are a great tool to find rings but it takes a little experience to be able to use one. Timing is more important for rings lost in public areas. I love being able to use my experience using my metal detector to help others who have lost sentimental keepsakes.

Ring Finder Specialist Recovers Lost Gold Wedding Band in Olney, Maryland

  • from Washington (District of Columbia, United States)

Stuart’s 14 karat yellow gold extra wide classic wedding band that metal detectorist Brian Rudolph found in a most unexpected place!

Stuart’s excitement is easily seen in his eyes as he shows off his gold wedding band that member of THE RING FINDERS Brian Rudolph had found after a couple of hours of metal detecting leaves!

Brian Rudolph, Lost Item Recovery Specialist (Land, Water, Sand, Snow, Leaves, Cliffs, Houses & Vehicles) Will Find Your Lost Keepsake! Call ASAP (301) 466-8644!

Stuart contacted me because he lost his 14 karat yellow gold extra wide classic wedding band. This was his third wedding band that he had lost! He said to me, « Brian, this is my third one gone missing and I have to get this damn one back! »

My client was pretty certain that he had lost the gold ring in one of the fifteen recycling bags that were sitting at the bottom of the property waiting to be picked up.

The backstory goes something like this: Stuart’s father-in-law drove a lawn tractor and gathered up all of the leaves around Stuart’s property. Then, the contents were dumped in the grass at the bottom of the property near the mailbox. From there, all of the leaves were placed in recycling bags and set at the edge of the property for the recycling truck to pick up the fifteen brown bags that Monday.

It was when Stuart entered his house at the end of his productive outdoor work day that he noticed that his wedding band was no longer on his finger. He was extremely perplexed by the whole situation. Rather than empty all of the bags at the bottom of the driveway and search for the ring one at a time, Stuart went online and found me on THE RING FINDERS website. He immediately called me and we set up a time for me to come to the gentleman’s Olney, Maryland home.

When I arrived, I metal detected all fifteen recycling bags filled with leaves and debris. With the exception of one target signal, there was no other metal to be found. Stuart was completely perplexed as to what could have happened to his « symbol of love ».

Because I have experienced so many situations like this one where the client couldn’t figure out what had happened to the keepsake, I took matters into my own hands. I chose to start metal detecting along the edge of the driveway. Stuart said, « I don’t think it could be in the grass near the driveway because I would have heard the ring bounce on the asphalt. » I responded by sharing that he might not have heard the « ping » sound during the time that his father-in-law was operating the tractor. My client then agreed with my long shot theory.

Just as I neared two-thirds of the way up the lawn (along the edge of the driveway where the grass met the concrete), I picked up the perfect gold ring signal! Stuart was inside at the time when I knelt down towards the lawn to inspect the object that I had metal detected. I am very happy to share that that particular target signal that had registered on my machine was in fact Stuart’s missing wedding ring! I was beyond delighted at my discovery! I almost couldn’t believe it myself with what I had found! Talk about winning the ring finding game at the very last minute! The wedding band was there all long, lying just a few inches from the edge of the driveway about two thirds of the way up the hill!

My client was absolutely thrilled at what I displayed before his eyes just minutes after he returned outside! Frankly, Stuart was in a state of shock to see me holding his ring, knowing that there was little to no chance that the sentimental piece of jewelry would have ended up being found right beside the edge of the driveway in the grass! It truly was an incredible moment to return that very handsome chunk of gold back its rightful owner!

Lost Gold Men’s Wedding Band at Waialae-Kahala Beach…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This ring find began back on 2 February when I got a call from the Ala Moana Hotel and guest Ana Lucia who was on her honeymoon from Costa Rica.  Ana told me her husband Jose lost his Yellow Gold Wedding ring at Waialae-Kahala Beach a few hours ago in waist deep water.  I asked if they could meet me there in about 30 minutes as that beach is only 10 minutes from my home.  They agreed so I headed over.  There is very limited parking but I got lucky as I was pulling in someone was leaving.  It took Jose & Ana a bit longer as rush hour traffic was just starting.  When they arrived Ana interpreted to Jose my request for him to show me where in the water he was.  I asked to go to the deepest and then I would work towards shore.  I started a grid search and worked towards shore.  Thankfully not too many targets but as I entered waist deep water Jose relayed thru Ana that he thought I was getting too close to shore.   Ana thought I was actually too far to the East so I moved Westward and deeper.  This area became very trashy so I was digging plenty of trash.  After an hour or so Jose & Ana said thank you for trying but maybe it was just meant to be.  I told them I wouldn’t give up and would try again soon.  Turns out the next day was super calm and a perfect low tide so I returned and started the hunt again.  With all the targets I figured the ring must still be here.  I started the Jose grid again this meant I was going to work more East and toward shore.  Sure enough as I left the previous days grid more East and Shallower I got a booming #20 on the Nox and in one scoop there was Jose’s ring in the scoop.  Had I only gone one more grid line the previous day I probably would have found it.  I immediately sent an email but to my surprise Jose & Ana had already flown back to Cost Rica as they hadn’t responded until a few days later.  Thankfully, Ana’s Aunt in San Francisco was going to visit them in Costa Rica that following weekend and if I got the ring by Express Mail to her she would personally deliver it to Jose when she arrived in Costa Rica.  Got the best « Shaka » pic I’ve seen in a long time.  Look at those smiles!  Aloha to Jose & Ana Lucia!

Lost Wedding Ring in McLean, Virginia Front Yard…Found by Ring Finder

  • from Washington (District of Columbia, United States)

Trey’s platinum wedding band that member of THE RING FINDERS, Brian Rudolph, successfully recovered on the front yard of Trey’s McLean, Virginia home.

Trey, Tracy and family celebrating the successful recovery of the irreplaceable sentimental keepsake which metal detectorist Brian Rudolph returned to the finger that it rightfully belonged to!

Brian Rudolph, Lost Item Recovery Specialist (Land, Water, Sand, Snow, Leaves, Cliffs, Houses & Vehicles) Will Find Your Lost Keepsake! Call ASAP (301) 466-8644!

Trey was playing baseball with his son in the front yard of their McLean, Virginia house. He believed that he lost his platinum wedding band when he took off his baseball glove. The ring was loose on his finger and because the same situation occurred once before, Trey assumed that the wedding band flew off the moment he pulled the mitt off of his hand.

The entire family searched long and hard for the very special memento, but in the end, all of their efforts led to no avail. Hours of looking had gone by and even the metal detector that they used to locate the jewel did not help the distraught man with recovering the ring.

At some point, Trey and his wife Tracy went on to the internet and searched for a new solution. They found the elite international directory of metal detectorists called THE RING FINDERS. It was at that point that I was contacted and Trey shared the whole story from start to finish.

Later that evening, I headed over to the family’s McLean, Virginia residence to conduct my own ring search on their front lawn. There were plenty of leaves scattered about and Trey didn’t want to remove any of the tree debris until after his ring was recovered. He was worried that If he had cleaned up the front yard, the jewel could have been swept into a leaf bag and taken away to the dump by accident.

After Trey and his son had finished showing me where they played ball and their overall movements on the front lawn, I immediately returned to my car to retrieve all of the metal detecting equipment necessary to conduct the search.

I truly love the searches that I participate in when I end up finding the sought after object within a few minutes swinging my detector. Well, I can happily share that this particular « project » turned out to be just like one of those cases! I was metal detecting around the batter’s cage that was off to one side of the property when I picked up an excellent signal. I knelt down to the ground and positioned my high lumens headlamp towards the area that I was searching, and there it was! I found it! I successfully recovered Trey’s lost Platinum wedding band that he so loved and cherished! The piece of precious metal had been hiding under some leaves in the grass. It was such a fantastic moment, especially when I surprised the whole family with the fantastic news! I truly love helping people… especially this family that was so very warm and kind to me! I’ll never forget them!

Wife Loses Husband’s Wedding Band at Vienna, Virginia Private School…Found by Detectorist Brian Rudolph

  • from Washington (District of Columbia, United States)

Tommy’s 18 karat white and rose gold wedding band that professional ring finder Brian Rudolph successfully recovered after hours of metal detecting.

Metal detectorist Brian Rudolph holds up Tommy’s 18 karat white and rose gold wedding band that was found at one of the possible search sites where wife Katie potentially lost the irreplaceable keepsake.

Brian Rudolph, Lost Item Recovery Specialist (Land, Water, Sand, Snow, Leaves, Cliffs, Houses & Vehicles) Will Find Your Lost Keepsake! Call ASAP (301) 466-8644!

Katie was given Tommy’s 18 karat white and rose gold wedding band to keep safe while he headed to the hospital for a medical procedure. She decided to wear the special jewel on her index finger as she drove one child to a Vienna, Virginia private school and the other one to an Oakton, Virginia dance studio. By the time Katie completed her drop-offs, she stopped at a Starbucks drive thru to buy a cup of coffee and it was there that she realized that her husband’s very handsome wedding ring was no longer on her finger!

In a panic, the poor wife who had been entrusted with Tommy’s irreplaceable keepsake, first checked her car to see if it slipped off her finger and dropped to the floor or fell between the seats. Then, when nothing was found, she quickly
headed back to her daughter’s nearby dance studio. When nothing panned out there, she returned to her son’s day school campus to see if she could find the lost band somewhere near the drop-off gate entrance and at the school’s designated donation station where Katie handed some bags of clothes to one of the teachers. Unfortunately, the perplexed young lady had no success in recovering Tommy’s wedding day « souvenir ».

After the Oakton, Virginia spouse spent another couple of frustrating days searching for the ring in the same places as before, Katie had no choice but to leave her information about the missing ring with the school, the dance studio and at the Starbucks. A « lost and found » bulletin went out to all of the day school program parents just in case somebody happened to pick up the precious piece of property sometime later that week. Still, there was no happy breakthrough or positive leads that became of all of her diligent efforts to retrieve the runaway ring.

Katie felt very guilty for losing her spouse’s special « symbol of love ». So much so that she began looking online to rent a metal detector to further her efforts. During her search on the internet, the desperate young lady happened to stumble upon a metal detectorist directory called THE RING FINDERS – an elite international database of ring finding specialists who enjoy solving mysteries just like this one. Katie contacted me and filled me in on the entire story regarding the loss of Tommy’s ring.

Even though this particular search project did not look too promising in regards to a successful recovery (since the loss of the ring appeared to have taken place in one of three public environments), I was greatly up for the challenge and I couldn’t wait to start the search the very next morning.

When I arrived at the private school in Vienna, Virginia, I first searched Katie’s vehicle with some special search equipment. Though it was extremely cold outside with a chilling temperature of 32° Fahrenheit, I was determined to conduct a thorough investigation for Tommy’s missing ring. I ended up concluding that the band was not lost in the car.

Next, my client showed me where she walked and dropped off her little boy at the outdoor playground fence gate. Katie clearly remembered holding his lunch bag with one hand and struggling to release her young one with the other hand due to the boy having an emotionally difficult morning. We then walked over to another side of the property where my client had deposited her give-a-ways out by a designated outdoor donation station.

I held off doing any searching at the school premises until Katie oriented me over to the Oakton, Virginia dance studio and at the local Starbucks where she realized Tommy’s ring was no longer on her finger. I metal detected and scanned both of those potential search sites and unfortunately there was no sign of the wedding band at either one of those two locations.

Once I finished checking out the Starbucks drive-thru area, I returned to the school and immediately began setting up my grid tapes out on the parking lot. I first wanted to check the concrete pavement to see if the ring fell off of Katie’s finger during the time that she either carried her child to the drop off site or if it went missing while taking the bags of clothes over to the donation station. The purpose in checking the parking lot first was because later that day the entire area would be filled with cars due to an afternoon function. I wanted to make sure that I had full access to every square inch of that blacktop before visitors began to show up.

I spent at least a couple of hours out in the bitter cold weather grid searching almost the entire parking lot of the school. It was a lot of territory. The reason why I did the majority of the concrete was because the ring was heavy and it was quite possible that if it fell off, it could have rolled down the parking lot since it was on a decline. When I completed that task, I was 100% confident that the ring was not on the parking lot pavement. This did not mean that someone had already eyeballed it and picked it up sometime the last couple of days.

Next, I took my metal detector over to the patch of ground where Katie dropped off her son with the school staff. It was the last place to check before I had to wrap up the search. There were leaves and little clumps of grass here and there around the outside of the fenced in area. Not only had Katie searched that particular section already, but plenty of other parents and teachers who had gotten word about the disappearance of Tommy’s precious sentimental piece of jewelry also scanned over that same territory. Up to that point nothing was discovered by any of the good Samaritans in this particular « hot zone ». Yet, I never base my search strategies on escaping the odds. One must search everywhere just in case the lay person happens to miss the obvious areas. That’s why it’s so pertinent that people reach out to a professional metal detectorist like myself instead of trying to do the search on their own.

Well, I am so very happy to share that after metal detecting the area near the fence line where Katie dropped off her son, I eventually picked up a wonderful target signal coming from underneath some leaves over to the left of the chain link fence entrance gate. I knelt down to the ground and took out my handheld metal detector to pinpoint the exact location of where my machine detected the signal. After removing a few leaves, there it was!… I found it! Right in front of my eyes was the very handsome white and rose gold wedding band that I had been searching for for the last few hours! I did it! I successfully recovered Tommy’s lost ring! With all of the foot traffic coming and going at that drop off point, nobody ever eyeballed the long sought after « symbol of love »! Incredible! It was lying there under a few leaves for a number of days and yet It was never recovered by anyone!

When I surprised Tommy and Katie with the great news, the couple immediately reacted as if they both were in a state of shock when I pulled Tommy’s lost wedding band out of my pocket! As I handed them the irreplaceable wedding memento, the two couldn’t believe what they were staring at! Even though Katie grabbed a hold of whatever hope she could muster up when she initially hired me to search for the missing keepsake, the young lady admitted that she didn’t think that they would ever see that very special ring ever again! I am so glad that at the end of this special ring story… I was able to prove my client’s intuition to be quite wrong! I love it when it works out that way!

How to Metal Detect a Lost Platinum Wedding Band in the Woods

  • from Washington (District of Columbia, United States)

Robert’s platinum wedding band which metal detectorist Brian Rudolph successfully recovered out in the woods where Robert had been throwing sticks days earlier.

Robert and his family excitedly posing with the special platinum wedding band shortly after THE RING HERO Brian Rudolph found the highly treasured missing ring!

Brian Rudolph, Lost Item Recovery Specialist (Land, Water, Sand, Snow, Leaves, Cliffs, Houses & Vehicles) Will Find Your Lost Keepsake! Call ASAP (301) 466-8644!

On Veterans Day, Robert (who serves in the United States Navy) was in the backyard of his house throwing sticks into the woods when he lost his platinum wedding band. He wasn’t sure if it went missing exactly at the point of throwing the debris or if it may have slipped off while he was gathering some of the branches that were lying on his lawn.

After Robert had unsuccessfully looked for his lost ring for several hours, His wife Cara took him out for a nice dinner to celebrate Veterans Day. Sadly, all they could think about was the disappearance of Robert’s beloved wedding band. It turned out to be a very difficult evening for the couple.

The next day, Cara rented a metal detector from a local hardware store with the hope that it would be their answer to such a frustrating dilemma. Unfortunately, the metal detector turned out to be ineffective. All they got were endless chirps and beeps with no ring to be found.

Cara returned the useless metal detector rental back to the store and the couple immediately looked online for another solution. THE RING FINDERS metal detectorist directory became their new hope. Soon after they did their internet search, I was contacted by Cara and we went through all of the details regarding the loss of Robert’s ring.

That evening, I headed to the couple’s property and Robert showed me the area where he had been working on the lawn and the place where he threw the random branches and sticks towards the woods. I then gathered up my metal detecting gear from the car and began the search.

For the next few hours I laid down grid lines starting from the lawn all of the way into the woods. Eventually, my metal detecting skills paid off when my machine picked up a fantastic signal that was in the range of a men’s platinum wedding ring. To my greatest excitement, the object that I had investigated under a pile of leaves approximately 20 feet into the woods was in fact the missing ring that I had been searching for!

Robert, Cara and their young daughter were overjoyed at my successful recovery of the lost wedding band! We all thanked the Lord for helping me be a ring hero for the family and after a few photos were taken, we said our goodbyes and I headed off into the night to my next search that was awaiting me!

Lost Diamond Anniversary Ring Given by Deceased Husband Who Died of COVID-19 Six Months Earlier…Found in Rockville, Maryland

  • from Washington (District of Columbia, United States)

Pam’s 18 karat yellow gold and multiple diamond mesh-style anniversary ring which member of THE RING FINDERS Brian Rudolph successfully recovered!

Pam with her elegant and beautiful anniversary ring that her late husband Leo gave to her as an anniversary gift many years earlier.

Brian Rudolph, Lost Item Recovery Specialist (Land, Water, Sand, Snow, Leaves, Cliffs, Houses & Vehicles) Will Find Your Lost Keepsake! Call ASAP (301) 466-8644!

Pam was crying on the other end of the phone with me when she called for help. Her elegant 18 karat yellow gold and multiple diamond mesh-style anniversary ring went missing after the Rockville, Maryland resident had spent a few hours that day doing some outdoor weeding and leaf collecting.

Pam was absolutely devastated. This irreplaceable sentimental keepsake was given to her by her late husband Leo who had just passed away six months earlier due to COVID-19. The woman had been suffering enough pain with the loss of her beloved spouse and then this unfortunate situation occurred. It was more than Pam could bear!

When I received Pam’s distress call for help, I was at another search. Because of her emotional state, I called her frequently to give my future client updates as to how long I might be before getting to her property. She really appreciated the extra effort that I went to in order to bring reassurance to Pam that she would not be forgotten that night.

When I arrived at my client’s Rockville, Maryland property later in the evening, Pam immediately showed me where she had been raking and bagging up leaves along with a couple of other spots where she had been weeding and dumping the cuttings into additional lawn and leaf paper biodegradable brown bags.

Once I got my metal detecting gear from my car, I powered up the equipment and began searching for the lost ring. First, I metal detected parts of the lawn where the weeds were pulled from the ground. Nothing registered on my machine in those areas. Then, I took one of the brown paper biodegradable recyclable bags that had lots of trimmings and weeds tucked inside of it and laid it on its side along the ground near the curb. I swung my metal detector coil over the bag and no metal could be detected. I then rolled the paper receptacle on its other end and once again scanned its contents. This time however I immediately got a signal!

Slowly and carefully I began to take some of the contents out of the brown container until my metal detector hit the same target signal that I had previously encountered. Within a quick minute or so I pinpointed the object that I had been hunting all along. Below a few weeds I found what I had been searching for!!!! There it was! I recovered it! The object was indeed Pam’s beautiful and most elegant yellow gold mesh-style ring that consisted of diamonds set around the equator of that very special anniversary jewel!

Pam was right beside me when I identified her irreplaceable keepsake that Leo, the love of her life, had given to her so many years earlier! She began to cry with tears of joy and with much relief in her heart when I handed her the ring. During all of those hours of waiting for me to arrive, Pam felt like another part of Leo had been stripped away from her. Thankfully, at that moment, she was then reunited with that very special gift that Leo had given her so very long ago. Yes, the memories in that treasure piece would forever be preserved now that I had recovered the ring from what would have been picked up by the recycler truck the following day! I was greatly satisfied that night to be able to help turn tears of distress into tears of happiness!

Gold Wedding Band Goes Missing While Man Cleans Backyard…Found in Inwood, West Virginia

  • from Washington (District of Columbia, United States)

Jon’s 14 karat yellow gold classic wedding band which metal detectorist Brian Rudolph recovered after it had gone missing for over a couple of months.

Jon excitedly poses with his irreplaceable « symbol of love » after it had gone missing for over a couple of months. Though he began to think that he would never see it again, ring finder Brian Rudolph proved otherwise!

Brian Rudolph, Lost Item Recovery Specialist (Land, Water, Sand, Snow, Leaves, Cliffs, Houses & Vehicles) Will Find Your Lost Keepsake! Call ASAP (301) 466-8644!

Jon was cleaning up a particular area of his backyard when he believed that he lost his 14 karat yellow gold classic wedding band somewhere in the garden bed or perhaps in a pile of wood and kindling.

After hours of searching for the very sentimental keepsake, Jon unfortunately was unable to find his ring. He knew that he had it on his finger upon leaving his house to tend to the tasks at hand that day, but where the jewel had ended up…that was the big mystery.

A couple of months passed by and instead of Jon renting a metal detector, the gentleman decided to search the internet for another answer and he immediately found THE RING FINDERS – an elite international directory of metal detectorists that are specialists in finding lost rings and just about everything else made of metal!

After receiving Jon’s call for help, we went over all of the details regarding the loss of his wedding band and we made plans for me to visit his property
a few days later.

The 1.5 hour scenic drive to Jon and Tina’s Inwood, West Virginia property was absolutely stunning! We sure live in a beautiful country! I enjoyed every mile! When I arrived, Jon took me to the back of his several acre estate and showed me where he had been cleaning up his garden bed, stacking wood and throwing sticks and miscellaneous debris to be burned in a nearby fire pit.

When I got the full overview as to where Jon had been working and what were all of the possibilities as to what may have happened to his irreplaceable keepsake, I gathered up my metal detecting gear and then immediately returned to the backyard search site to begin my « investigation ».

I decided that I would begin the recovery project in the most likely spot where Jon might have lost his ring – in the vegetable garden. He had been pulling out all of the weeds and leftover vegetable plant life (since the harvest season was over by several months), and so I thought that it was quite possible that the ring had slipped off in that area and got buried somewhere in the dirt below.

After no more than a few grid lanes of detecting the garden, I was encouraged to get an excellent target signal on my machine. I knelt down on the ground and used my handheld pinpointer to inspect that particular spot where that object had been detected. As it turned out, I dug up a very handsome yellow gold looking object! It was Jon’s lost wedding band! I was so very excited to recover the special jewel that meant the world to this gentleman and to his wife Tina!

When Jon returned home with his wife from a nearby doctor’s appointment, I was able to share the happy news with the two lovebirds who had been married for many decades! They were beyond thrilled to hear that my diligent efforts led to a successful recovery! There is nothing like helping people like Jon and Tina reclaim irreplaceable sentimental objects like the one I found buried in the couple’s garden!
