Lost wedding ring found

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This ring find started out in the afternoon when I got a call from Bre telling me that she lost her wedding ring at the beach. I got home and talked to my wife about the unpleasant lost. She encouraged me to go out to the other side of the island to help Bre and see if I can find this loss Ring. I packed up my truck with my equipment and head out to the west side. While on my way to Maili Beach I’m in traffic and I ended up getting rear ended.  Bre is waiting for me and I need to update her on my situation. When I called to explain to Bre she quickly empathized with me and said maybe we should set this up for another day. I immediately deferred said I am halfway there and the sun is setting soon so it will be best if I get out there as soon as possible and give it a try. I arrive to the beach and was met by Bre and her beautiful family. She explains to me the area of which she was swimming with her family two days prior when she lost the ring. I gathered my gear and turned on the Equinox 800.  as I started to enter the water I noticed there were a lot of targets and the place I was looking in was at the end of a river mouth runoff.  The amount of trash and targets i found filled my pockets. After searching for a couple hours I realized that maybe I need to come back when the water visibility gets better as it’s murky and cloudy. As I start to head in, I hear a faint sound and thought to myself, should I dig it or just wait until another time? I decided to give it a dig and after three big scoops there in the bottom of my extreme scoop is a beautiful Hawaiian heirloom diamond wedding ring. I look up to notice Bre and the kids sitting on the shoreline. I approach Bre with a few questions concerning the ring. But, I noticed she doesn’t have her mask. Because when she came down to meet me at the beach i noticed it in her hand. And now no mask! I asked her… where’s your mask and She told me a young gentleman named Keone young came up to her while I was searching and asked if he could borrow it so he could look for his keys that he lost while surfing and when he finds it he’ll come back and help her take a look for her loss wedding ring. Well, after hearing that story I noticed she was on a FaceTime call with her sister. I asked her sister explain to me what the ring looks like and she along with Bre describe the ring that I found. As the FaceTime call is transpiring I tell the family well there’s no need for me to ask anymore questions because… and that’s when I pulled out my hand and in my finger tips I held the once lost ring and said “ it was lost… but now found!” And they both were excited and shocked. I gave the ring back to Bre and said it’s time for me to rinse off. I head over to the showers and start to rinse off my equipment when I get approached by a young gentleman with a longboard. He asked me did you find it? The ring! I smiled and pulled out the ring and let him know it was lost and now found. With a big smile on his face holding his hands in the air was a mask and a string with a key! This  was Keone Young the surfer Bre told me about lending her mask to and here he is just as excited as we are because he found his key. Bre, Keone and myself all grateful and sharing  stories filled with Aloha and as we rinse off the sun started to set behind us which gave a warm feeling of bliss. We all agree that this day was filled with blessings and to find the things that was lost means so much to us. Another great recovery and another happy family!

Wedding Rings – Tossed and Found in NKY

  • from Cincinnati (Ohio, United States)

I received a text on Saturday morning from a woman in Northern Kentucky, who after returning home late on Friday evening from her son’s baseball tournament, was cleaning up the family car when she discovered she had lost her wedding rings.

While emptying the car and getting it ready for more tournament games, a cooler had spilled in the front floor well and it was later after tossing the ice from the car, that she realized the ice had probably shrunk her fingers and that her wedding rings had flown off of her hand during the cleanup.

Searching on hands and knees, she was able to locate her engagement ring in an expansion joint in the driveway, but her wedding band proved harder to track down. Using one of their son’s metal detectors they had had no luck and a neighbor even assisted with his detector, searching for over an hour. but still having no luck.

Locating the Ring Finders site, I was contacted and we arranged to meet later that evening. Walking me through what had happened and showing me the engagement ring, we tried to determine the most likely path for the ring, but with the previous searches undertaken, I widened my search grid and got started. While getting started, I noticed their utilities were buried under ground, and that because the home was relatively new construction and so, there was plenty of noise.

As we were uncertain which side of the driveway the ring might be on, I chose one and I started my search at the street, working my way back up to about where the engagement ring had been found. I was about to give up and switch sides, when about two feet from the driveway, just next to the expansion joint where the engagement ring had been found, I got the signal I was hoping for.

Though we had gotten lucky and recovered both rings, unfortunately, one of the small diamonds in the wedding band was missing, possibly lost when the ring bounced on their driveway, but we were both still very happy that this ring was recovered!

  • from Oxnard (California, United States)

On a fateful Thursday afternoon, a distress call reached my ears, beckoning me to the shores in pursuit of a lost engagement ring submerged beneath the unforgiving embrace of high tide. Though shrouded in confidentiality, the urgency of the situation propelled me into action, orchestrating a predawn rendezvous at the water’s edge to harness the dwindling remnants of a favorable low tide.

Navigating the ever-shifting sands, our quest was hindered by the capricious whims of the ocean, obscuring once-prominent landmarks beneath a veil of sand and surf. Undeterred, I commenced the search, tracing a meticulous path parallel to the shoreline, attuned to the subtle whispers of my metal detector.

How to find a diamond ring in the water in Delta, BC.

I received a text message from a very upset young lady who said her beautiful diamond engagement ring fell into the river, not just a river but the Fraser River. I know the Fraser River and how harsh the currents are so I was not hopeful in being able to help her until they told me it was Lost in a side River by the Fraser River.

The next thing was it was lost between seven and 10 feet of water off of the dock,  I’m now looking for a diver and call one of my friends on the directory. After conversing a bit more with the people I asked if they can go back at low Tide and see if there’s any chance we can do this without a diver as I know the water levels fluctuate quite a bit. They went back and text message me that it was waist deep by the dock, this was great news I can do this search without bringing in a diver and wasting his time. They also told me the current was very very strong when they lost the ring over the dock. They felt that the ring must’ve gone down river and it was a hopeless cause.

Mike didn’t even want me to come out he thought he was wasting my time but his wife said she wanted me to come out and search, she also didn’t think I had a chance of finding it but I know and understand what closure means to people. I wasn’t quite sure what I was in for because I’ve never been called to do a ring search in the Fraser river. It was muddy we had to take a boat to a mile away from the location and walk in, it was a hot day and I love my job!

They show me the area where they placed the dock only weeks earlier fortunately where they put it was very very little trash which makes my job much easier, the other key factor was we were able to lift the buckets of cement and move the dock away from the search area this was a huge benefit and helped in locating her beautiful diamond ring. I am so honoured to be able to help continue the story of her ring and see both of their smiles…

The search took 30 minutes,  time spent getting there and back four hours. I love my office and to meet 4 wonderful people and help find their smiles makes the boat ride back so much nicer…

Drew joined his mother, father, and brother for a short vacation away from Massachusetts. They met at Turtle Beach on Siesta Key. They headed down to the beach and spent the afternoon playing in the sand and Gulf of Mexico. That morning, Drew had bargained for and purchased a silver bracelet. He wore it proudly to the beach and into the gulf. After rough housing in the water with his dad and brother, he returned to the beach and then noticed he no longer had the bracelet. He spent the next 2 days snorkeling in search of the bracelet but without any luck. His mother did some searching on the internet and finally discovered the SRARC Ring Finders group. Using his mother’s information, he contacted Howard Metts who did a call out for team members. Mike Shuler, Bill Gallant, and Mike Miller answered the call and met Drew the next morning. Drew gave them the perimeters for the hunt and off they went on the search. Mike and Mike headed out to the first sandbar to begin the hunt while Bill began a grid closer in. Mike Miller was a few feet in front of Mike Shuler and had just climbed up onto the sandbar when Shuler held the bracelet up in his hand. Shifty Shuler had done it again, 5 minutes into the hunt and he single handedly turned the hunt into a successful recovery. As we walked back to shore Drew stood up in disbelief and as Mike handed him the bracelet a big smile spread across his face. It is always a great pleasure to be part of a successful recovery and return.

Lost Gold Cross and Necklace Found Avalon NJ by Ring Finders South Jersey

  • from North Wildwood (New Jersey, United States)

Late Friday evening I received a text from Sam asking if I could find a gold chain and cross in the sand that was lost the previous day in Avalon, NJ. She mentioned the cross was very sentimental because it was given to her mother by her father almost 30 years ago and then given to her. Sam took off the necklace because it got tangled in her hair and placed  it on the blanket. After forgetting she had taking it off, the cross and chain went flying across the beach when she shook out her blanket when leaving. I met Sam early Saturday morning to collect some details and started to search. After a thorough grid search of approximately fifty square feet, the necklace and cross were found!
