Metal Detecting English Bay Beach for lost Silver Native Bracelet and Silver Ring
Another night hunt, two in a row…I was at work when I received a call from a young lady who lost her silver native bracelet and silver ring at English Bay Beach in Vancouver.
She tells me that she was enjoying the beach with her son on one of our hottest days of the year, she took off her jewellery to put some suntan lotion on and placed it on the blanket.
When she was ready to head home she picks up the blanket and shakes off the sand not remembering that her bracelet and ring was on it…
An hour and a half goes by and she realizes that she hasn’t got her cherished jewellery, the bracelet was given to her 28 years ago by her father and the ring she had for 20 years.
Needless to say she was devastated, she went back to the beach and searched but did not find what she was looking for…
With the help of the lifeguards that saw her searching the beach she contacted me, I came out after work at around 11:15 pm and she showed me the area.
I received a couple of signals and this got her so excited but unfortunately it was just some beer caps. I finished the grid search of the area then started to expand the grid when I received another signal.
I slowly dug the sand with scoop and as I lifted it out from the sand I could see silver and at that moment I heard her scream! There in my sand scoop was both ring and bracelet!
I was hugged and thanked as she was very grateful that she had her jewellery back.

Lost… Diamond Ring at Jericho Beach Vancouver
Summer just arrived… July 7th, it was a long wait, now we complain about how hot it is…go figure!
I was at work when I got a call from a young lady that lost her diamond engagement ring in the sand at Jericho Beach, Vancouver.
Unfortunately I can’t just leave work to help her, I told her that I might not get there until late that night. As it was I met her husband at around 10:15 pm, he knew the area that the ring was lost at and showed me… I started my search.
I’d say it took no longer 10 minutes before I received a faint signal that turned out to be a beautiful diamond ring. He only proposed to her 4 months ago so that ring was new and needed to find its owner, and it did!
It helps when people mark the area so I can come in and have a chance to find it, the hard searches are the ones when people lose their ring but aren’t sure where it came off.
Thanks for reading my stories!

Lost bracelet Leech Lake MN…Found 50 years later and returned to its owner.

My family went up north Minnesota to a resort on Leech Lake. While there I decided to help out the owner and try to find some old mouring anchors. As I was scuba diving I found an old bracelet. When I returned home, I got a chance to clean it up a bit and was able to read a name on the bracelet. Off to the the internet and only one person was found with this name and he was in Omaha Nebraska. I called and sure enough it was him. He is currently 68 years old and said he had lost the bracelet when he was in High School. His family used to go up to the resort and he was fishing off the dock and the bracelet fell off into the water. He said he searched but couldn’t find it. He was so happy as it brought back a lot of fond memories. I sendt it back to him and I hope it is a personal treasure that can be handed down in his family with a great story for the generations to come. Take care – Darrin
Little Falls Gold Wedding Band
On 6/20/2010 I was contacted by a man who had lost his Gold Wedding Band in his yard while gardening. I drove up to Little Falls (about 2 hours) and found it in less then 5 minutes. He showed me exactly how the ring flew off his finger as he threw some weeds he was picking. Take Care!
Yakima County, Wiley city Washington Lost Earring
I accepted an earring search today. I know that finding a small diamond earring can be almost impossible, as metal detectors can have trouble sensing them. But I was eager to have a search, and I thought I would like to give it a try. The area it was lost in was small, just a few feet square and grass. It belongs to a lovely young child, and I knew the smile if I found it would be worth a million bucks. So off I went. Just a short drive and I was there. I met with the family and looked at the site. Next I was lucky and she had the matching earring. I tested it in my normal search program on my XLT and it was completely silent as it passed under the coil. I made several adjustment and finally was able to get the faintest signal. The search began and after only 15 or 20 minutes I had a similar faint signal among several loud and deeper signals. I went carefully through the patch of grass and caught the faint glint of metal. It turned out to be the back of the earring. Very tiny and a lucky find. Since she was standing still when it came off, I moved over about 6 inches and had another faint signal. Searched through the grass and there it was. I did this search for the smile, and I was well paid as you can see in the picture. Happy all around. Great hunt and I will take a lucky find every time. If you have lost something special, give me a call and lets find it!
Lost Watch, Spanish Banks Beach…Found!

I received a call from a young lady at around 6 pm on a Thursday, she tells me that she had lost a watch and that it could be in a couple of areas on the beach where she was playing volleyball and Frisbee.
I was still at work and working until 10 pm so I explained that I could come out after work and meet her to look for the watch.
She was a little skeptical that I could find her watch at night, I assured her that it didn’t mater if it was day or night, if we waited to long to search for her watch, the beach machine that cleans the beach could scoop it up and it would be lost forever.
I meet Kailun at 11 pm and she was with her parents, she walked me out and showed me the area that the watch could be lost at…I knew that it would take a bit of time to do a grid search so I told her that she could go home and that I would call her in the morning to let her know if I found the watch or not.
When the person doesn’t know where the item came off it becomes a treasure hunt! I know that its out there… but where?
I started my search at the volleyball court but nothing, I then started my grid search in the area she and her friends were playing Frisbee, after almost an complete north/south grid and close to an hour and a half I was only a few more lines from the end of the grid area when I got a good loud signal… It was the watch!
I have to say I was very happy I found the watch as I was getting really tired, I’m not sure if I would’ve been able to do the east/west grid.
I called the young lady and told her the good news the next morning…
I love my job!
