Man’s Palladium Wedding Band Lost, Found and Returned Myrtle Beach SC,

I got a text message a little after 11 a.m. on Friday, July 16th, from Mike saying “Hi Jim, Mike here. I just lost my wedding band at Myrtle Beach near 26th Ave North, by the Anderson Oceans Club and Spa. It’s a size 11 palladium band. I lost it in the water about 30 minutes ago. Any chance you can help?” I called him to get some more details, like how deep he was in the water, and whether he could meet me to show me the area. We agreed to meet on the beach at 3 p.m. He and his wife were in town from Maryland on a short trip, so he was limited on time. He lost his ring about an hour before high tide and low tide wasn’t going to be until a little after 7 p.m. I had a second lost ring at the same location, about 100 yards apart that I had gotten the day before. I was hoping I could find this ring and then re-search the other area for the second ring. Then I got to thinking, maybe Jim Brouwer would like to help. That way I could search for this ring and have Jim cover the area for the second one. When I talked to Jim, he jumped at the chance but couldn’t be there until a little later.

I got to the beach on time and met Mike. He showed me the area, confirming that his wife had marked the area when he lost his ring. Unfortunately, the wind had picked up which caused large waves coming straight into the beach. There was no way I could walk into the surf let alone try and detect. I sat there for at least an hour watching the waves crash onto the beach while waiting for Jim. After a while the conditions calmed down enough that I could detect. I gave Jim a description of the other ring and showed him the area. We both went to work trying to find these rings. With the information I got from Mike, I really expected to find his ring on the slope. After 2 hours of searching the slope and going out knee deep in the ocean, I hit a good target. I was using my White’s PI detector, so every signal sounds really good. I was expecting to dig up another bottle cap, which is about the only thing I was finding. I had the target in my scoop and shook the sand and shells out of my scoop and saw his palladium ring. I took a picture and sent it saying Bingo! He showed up about 45 minutes later with a big smile on his face knowing his ring was going back on his finger where it belonged.

Lost and found gold Wedding band at Lakeshore Beach Sandbanks Ontario

While out water detecting at North beach Provincial park, I received a call from Marian, saying how her husband, Remon, had just lost his gold wedding band while about 4 feet deep and tossing a football around with his kids. They were down on vacation from Quebec and headed back home tomorrow. So I quickly packed up and headed over to Sandbanks to meet up with them. After quick intro, I asked Remon to come in the water with me and stand where he thought he lost his ring. After a few minutes, as I was gridding the area with my water metal detector, his family signalled him from shore, telling him that he should move more to his left, just as I was getting a strong signal with my detector. Using my water scoop, I scooped up the target and there was his ring in the basket. I looked at him and told that we shouldn’t move, as he had put us 3 feet away from where he had dropped it, and proceeded to showed him the ring in the scoop. He was very excited but not as happy as Marian was when we reached the shore and he showed her his beautiful wedding ring. Another happy ending.

Lost rings in Coronado found

Erika took her platinum wedding and engagement rings off and set them in her lap. Forgetting about the rings, she stood up. That’s all it takes for rings to hit the soft sand and disappear. After an online search, she found TheRingFinders.com and my contact info. Erika called me around noon time asking for help and I quickly rounded up my gear and headed over to Coronado. Early afternoon, summertime, warm sunny day in Coronado, yeah, parking was going to be scarce. Sure enough, the place was jammed with beach goers. I managed to luck into a spot next to the beach, but, a good half mile south from where I was to meet Erika. A nice hike later,  I met Erika and she explained what happened and showed me where she was sitting and then standing. 20 seconds later, both rings were recovered from right in front of her chair and a happy Erika was reunited with her rings. A pleasure to meet you and thank you for the reward.

Lost wedding ring on Bonita beach Florida

Howard found me on the Ringfinders website and gave me a call. I was able to meet him and learn the details.  Several days before he had been swimming off his friends boat at the beach and lost his ring. He was very skeptical that I would find in 4 feet of water…. Another success story

Lost White Gold Wedding Ring at Kahanamoku Beach Waikiki…FOUND!!!

This ring find began yesterday when I got a text from James who was on vacation from Vacaville, California. While swimming back to shore at Kahanamoku Beach the previous day a wave hit James from behind and his ring flew off into the shore break and disappeared. After texting me a pic of where he was I realized the area was probably detected many times over except maybe the rubble area which was in his picture. I checked with a few friends who hadn’t been detecting so I texted James that I would try the next morning at low tide. James texted me some photos of their day at the beach and I was able to locate some large coral chunks as a starting point for my grid search. It was still dark when I arrived but decided I better beat the other detectorists that would surely be joining me. First two targets were trash and then I got two dimes in a row. I was starting to exit the picture area but James said it was approximate so I decided to move on. Next screaming target was a 14K white gold ladies wedding band. I wasn’t expecting that but this is the rocky area most detectorists avoid. Then another detectorist joined me and asked how I was doing. I showed him the ring and he said « Score ». Continuing on I got a third dime. Then when I was about to call it a lost cause I got another target with a « 16 » on the Nox in ankle deep water and in one scoop there was a White Gold Wedding Ring in the scoop. Quite a ways from the picture area but this could be it. I noticed a date inside the ring which James hadn’t told me about. I went back to the car and gave him a call. They were flying back to Cali today but were still in the hotel and about 15 minutes away. I told James I found a White Gold ring and asked if his had a date. He said yes and asked, « What is the date? » I said, « No, you tell me the date. » He shouted out the date inscribed and we agreed to meet at the Gilligan’s Snack Truck for the return. James arrived with his lovely wife Erin and we had a reunion of the ring with the rightful owner. Vacation ends on a high note! Aloha to James & Erin!

Lost Ring Found in Wakefield, RI

Lucinda called me for help with finding her ring, a family heirloom.  The beautiful diamond ring was a gift from her mom, who received the ring as a gift from her grandfather when she turned sixteen.  Lucinda was very upset that she had lost the ring while weeding her garden.  She and her husband looked for the ring and even bought a metal detector, without any success.  That’s when they searched the internet for help and found TheRingFinders website. I searched the yard, garden, and pile of brush but didn’t locate the ring.  Behind the pile of brush, there were bushes.  After searching under the bushes, I decided to shake them.  That’s when I saw something fall and discovered that it was the ring.  Lucinda and her husband couldn’t believe it.  She hugged me.  They were so thankful that I could help return this precious item to them!

Lost Engagement Ring Found in Coventry, RI

I received a call for help from Jessika, who had lost her engagement ring while doing yard work.  Jessika told me that she and her fiance Kevin tried to find the ring, but after two days they still hadn’t found it.  They even  bought a metal detector and still had no luck finding the ring . That’s when they decided to search the internet for help.  They found TheRingFinders  website and decided to call me.  Kevin showed me the areas where they thought it could be, and I started my search.  In about twenty minutes, I found the ring.  As you can see, Kevin was very happy the ring was found  and couldn’t wait to tell Jessika, who was at work.  When he called her, I could hear her excitement.  She couldn’t believe that I found her ring .

Man’s Sterling Silver Bracelet Lost, Found and Returned on Ocean Isle Beach NC

About 11:20 a.m. on Wednesday, July 14th, I received a text from Sean saying in part, “Hi Jim, lost a sterling silver bracelet this morning at OIB (Ocean Isle Beach). Lost it just off public access at Monroe St.” I tried calling him and got an immediate text back saying “sorry, I am on a work call at the moment. I’m off around 1:30, but if you did want to come detect before then, my wife could meet you at the beach and show you where we were.” I responded back “Was it in the dry sand or water?” His response was, “Dry sand, I am pretty sure. I did sit on the edge of water with my daughter but I have a hard time believing it came out of pocket. I took it off near chairs to go for a run, then forgot to put it back on when I returned. Lost when packing up I expect.” I text him back that I could be there in 40 minutes and he sent me his wife, Olivia’s, number for coordination purposes. I called Olivia and told her I’d be there in 40 minutes, grabbed my detector and was on my way.

When I arrived at the access, Olivia was waiting on me. She led me out to the exact spot where Sean suspected he lost his bracelet. I thought I’d have to work around the people already on the beach enjoying the day. Instead, there was a small clear area surrounded by groups of people on all 4 sides. I’m not sure if it was luck or prearranged by Olivia or Sean to keep the spot open, but it worked. I turned my machine on, took 3 or 4 steps and hit a nice target. Dug the target up, lightly shook out the sand and there was Sean’s bracelet in the bottom of the scoop. Olivia was kind enough to stand in for Sean and let me take a couple of pictures of her holding the bracelet. Unfortunately, I didn’t get a chance to meet Sean, but it all ended with a happy return. On my way home I got a text from Sean saying, “Thanks! Delighted you found it. I had already contacted the seller and they didn’t have them anymore. Much appreciated!”

Lost gold wedding band Rolley lake Mission, BC…Found!

It always starts off with a phone call or a text message in regards to a lost ring,  Strangely I was already recovering a ring only 4 miles from this young man’s location. The odds of that is incredible that I’d already be two hours from home doing a search and receiving another search request only minutes from where I was. After finding a beautiful custom-made diamond ring for a young couple I headed off to the next location to help this young man. He wasn’t there as he lost it days before, I asked him questions about the location and if he could send me Google earth and he did, I went out there and did my best but could not retrieve the ring.

 

I wasn’t too concerned that someone else may have beat me to it because of the location he had lost it in, it was deep deep water up to my chin, also muddy, branches and rocky location that a lot of people do not like searching because of the difficulty involved. We made arrangements to meet on the weekend 4 days later, I met this young man and he told me the story of his lost ring. He was only married three months so you can imagine how painful this was for him and his wife to of lost this beautiful gold ring.

 

I told him it would be a very difficult search due to the conditions and the depth but I was willing and up for the challenge. After only 30 minutes I was able to retrieve his ring out of this muddy mess and surprise him!

White and Rose Gold Wedding Band Lost, Found, and Returned in Myrtle Beach, SC

Monday afternoon started with a message from Taylor saying in part “Hello Ring Finders I’m so so hoping you can help!!! I have lost my wedding ring!!!! We are staying at the sea mist oceanfront resort in Myrtle Beach.  I’m hoping you can help.” This ring call is in Matt Fry’s area, so I’m in the process of calling Matt when Taylor calls me. I ask Taylor a few questions that I could relay to Matt. She explained that her and her family had been there since around 8 a.m. She said she had taken her ring off to apply sun screen to the family and couldn’t remember if she put it back on or not. She also mentioned that she had gone in the ocean at some point but no deeper than knee deep. I explained to her that I’m trying to get a hold of Matt, who covers Myrtle Beach, for her ring search and that one of us would call her back shortly. When I got a hold of Matt, I started giving him the information. I then asked him if he wanted to take it,  I must have sounded pretty pathetic because he said “if you want to take it, go ahead. I’ve got work in the shop to do.”  I thanked him and called Taylor back saying I was on my way.

When I got to the beach, there was no place to park. I called Taylor and she met me in the resort’s parking lot and was able to get me a temporary parking pass. As we walked out to the beach, I learned they were on vacation from Virginia. She also mentioned that they had seen another detectionist earlier on the beach and had asked him if he could try and find her ring. He checked the area where they were sitting and then recommended they contact The Ring Finders, that’s how she found me. I know a lot of the guys detecting in Myrtle Beach and I know they’re good and thorough in their searches. But from the description that Taylor gave me, I couldn’t picture who it was. For my own piece of mind and to say I checked, I did a quick search around their umbrella and out in front a few feet. I then started a grid search from where they were sitting out to the low tide line. Probably 8 to 10 grid lines, I got a solid 13. On the equinox 800, a 13 VDI could be a pull tab, a man’s thin gold ring, a nickel, or a woman’s big white gold wedding band. After digging a scoop of sand and spreading it out on the beach, I didn’t see anything. I ran my coil over the area and got the 13 again. I didn’t see a thing so I’m thinking a pull tab.  I’m moving the sand with my foot and saw a very small silver looking “thing.” I reached down and plucked Taylor’s beautiful white and rose gold wedding ring out of the wet sand. I walked down to the water and washed the sand off the ring. I then made my way back up to where Taylor and Brandon were sitting, making it look like I was done. I stood in front of Taylor and ask her what her ring looks like. As she’s explaining her ring, I slowly hold it up next to my face so she can see it. She screamed “you found my ring” and exploded out of her chair. Big, Big Hug and some tears. This is why I love doing what I do!
