Lost Gold Class Ring Found in Saline Michigan

  • from Detroit (Michigan, United States)

The Class of 1921 Graduates….

…Finally, their day had arrived. After receiving his diploma, Rudy’s great grandfather set out to achieve many goals.  Prior to this he had bought a gold class ring and over time the ring has been handed down to various family members. When Rudy was 21 yrs. of age his family presented this ring to him as a total surprise for following in his great grandfather’s footsteps as regards education and achieving goals. He wore it with pride and was always excited to talk about the history behind it. But one day he was having a great time at a friend’s pool throwing footballs, diving off the diving board and going down the slide. After some time had passed his ring was missing. Devastated about the loss the thoughts of having to explain to his parents was causing him not to think clearly about where the ring may be. I arrived and metal detected the grounds area with no success. Searching further out I received a good metal signal in one of the neighbor’s yards. Reaching down into the grass revealed Rudy’s simply stunning ring! Totally thrilled the weight of the loss was off his shoulders, he said it was time to celebrate, congrats and a huge bravo! Caps off to a well-deserved success!

Ricardo called me asking for help finding his wedding ring. He had been at the beach an hour before, and after he left his ring was missing. He wasn’t able to meet me there, but was able to give concise directions as to where he had been. I let him know I was available, and was on my way in just a few minutes. It is always important to conduct a search as soon as is possible in order to increase the possibility of a recovery.

I was able to get to the beach in good time, and using Ricardo’s directions, was able to find the area for the search. There were many people in the area, and I was thinking that they might have placed their towel over his ring. I began in the open areas between the towels trying not to disturb anyone while I searched. I made one pass down the beach, then began my way up, when in the middle of the beach I received a solid signal, dug, and had the ring. I looked a my phone, and saw that 4 minutes earlier Ricardo sent a text asking if I was having any trouble finding the beach, and my reply was « I have your ring. » which amazed him. He lived close in a nearby town, and asked if I could drop it in his mailbox.

I made it over to his house, put his ring in the mailbox, wrapped in some papers to insure it stayed where it dropped, and felt great about the search. Didn’t get to see the smile, but I know it was there.

Lost Tungsten, Gold & Diamonds Wedding Ring at Royal Hawaiian Beach…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This ring hunt began when I got a call from Nate who was on vacation from Seattle, Washington.  While wrestling with his son in chest deep water his Tungsten, White Gold and Diamonds Wedding Ring came off and disappeared in the soft sand.  He tried using a mask & snorkel but the ring was buried.  I agreed to meet him first light on the beach.  While I was waiting for Nate to arrive another detectorist strolled through the low tide trough.  I texted Nate « Hurry we have competition! »  I told the competition what we were doing and he continued out of the area.  Nate set some grid extremes for me and in I went in with the Manticore.  The sets were coming in crazy from waist deep to over my head.  A few times my headphones got ripped off my skull.  After completeing the grid in about an hour I had only found a silver toe ring, a broken copper necklace and a cherry earring.  Nate became quite sure of his distance so I went out and did a parallel to shore hunt.  Suddenly,  I had a screaming target and after two scoops there was the ring in my scoop.  I told Nate I believe I got it.  I noticed him clasp his hands in prayer and one look in the scoop it was confirmed.  Wife never has to know!  Aloha to Nate!

Lost Gold Wedding Ring Recovered, Weko Beach, Bridgman Michigan (Lake Mi)

  • from Granger (Indiana, United States)

06/25/2024 Weko Beach, Bridgman Michigan, Lake Michigan, water temp 68. William and family were enjoying the day at the beach. The 90’s temps last week warmed the big lake up nicely nearshore. At some point, William realized his gold wedding ring had fell off. He noticed this while out by a certain buoy marker out by the water inlet tower.
His daughter Alissa, later did some googling and came across my information as a “Ring Finder”. She texted me, we worked out the details and today (06/26) I did my searching, based off a hand drawn treasure-map of sorts.
There had been a quite strong wind/storm event later in the evening of the day of loss. Things move at this beach rather easily, even heavy 2-3 ounce fishing sinkers and massive amounts of sand come and go quickly.
Well, after a bit of searching, working the fairly large area, I got a nice sounding signal, told the gopro to “start recording”, took a careful scoop and observed a very gold men’s band in the scoop! He’s been wearing it since May of 2002 and I’m glad to have helped recover it for them.

I had just gotten back from a successful search from earlier in the day (it was now about 7:00 PM) when my phone rang, and a gentleman was wondering if I could help locate his lost wedding ring. Well my wife was on the way home with our dinner, so I asked some questions about the loss, and figured there was a good possibility of a recovery, but wanted to have my dinner because I hadn’t eaten since 10:30 that morning. so I asked if he would mind me eating first, and then I would come. He agreed, and I told him I would let him know when I was leaving.

Rob told me that he would meet me at the beach, but I got there a bit earlier than he did. He had given me an area to search, but because it was dark, and the sand all looks the same, I looked around for traces of a search in the sand. I did find an area in the vicinity he had given me that looked like someone had been searching for something, so I began to search as I waited for Rob to come. I searched the whole area with no success, and became a little dismayed until Rob showed up, and let me know I was looking in the wrong place. He lead me to where he remembered him being earlier that day, and I began a new search. I swung my detector twice, got a good strong signal, scooped the sand, and had Rob’s wedding ring to hand back to him. He was astonished that the recovery happened so fast, but the fact that he was there to correct my search area made all the difference. He was very happy, and I believe he said that he and his wife were celebrating their wedding anniversary in 3 months. What a great end to a long day.

Lost Tiffany Platinum Wedding Band at Ala Moana Beach…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This ring find began when I got a text from Sam who was on her Honeymoon with her husband Gareth, both from Sydney, Australia.  She asked if I had ring finding services for Ala Moana Beach.  Gareth was in the water hunting with a mask and snorkel and if he couldn’t find the Platinum ring,  I told her I could but needed some details.  Since it was late evening we decided to meet at 6:30 the next morning.  When Sam & Gareth arrived they took me down to the area to develop my grid.  I like to start right and work left.  This morning the beach was at a low tide and the water was clear.  On the first leg no targets whatsoever.  On the next leg at my maximum depth I got a nice tone but it was a nickel.  I turned toward shore and got another target with the same numbers thinking it was another nickel so I was surprised when a huge brand new Tiffany Platinum Band was glistening in my scoop.  Gareth & Sam were sitting on the shore and I yelled to them I had found it.  I think they were in utter shock as I had only been hunting for 3-4 minutes.  Gareth was obviously relieved and he told me he had been up most of the night concerned about the loss.  Honeymoon saved!  Aloha to Gareth & Sam!

Survey Pins found in Kelowna

  • from Kelowna (British Columbia, Canada)

My usual requests are for assistance with lost jewellery items, yesterday was to locate a property survey pin. After viewing the area, I identified 3 problems, the neighbours metal fence, a large tree with roots in the area, and a large Sanitary manhole cover close by. There were many signals in the location, many being large signals, one was either a pipe or a cable, but my smaller coil searched between them and gave me the signal I was looking for, a short consistent blip. we dug finding rocks with my probe. My pinpointer showed that after every rock, we were getting closer. At 14 inches depth I felt a square item that proved to be the pin. I was impressed that we found the pin in such a target rich environment, we measured from the found pin amd located the other back yard pin. The homeowner was excited and thankful, his estimate from a survey company was between $1,000 and $2000.

Water into Wine in West Kelowna,

  • from Kelowna (British Columbia, Canada)

Mission Hill Winery in West Kelowna BC, contacted me, they needed to locate a water shut off valve. They showed me the location on the hillside where they thought it was, after 45 minutes on the hillside covered with periwinkle finding junk metal and lighting, I was getting tired. As I got to the top of the hill by the building, I visually saw a capped plastic white pipe sticking out of the ground. I told them that is what they cover the shut off valves with, they said we have to reward you, that`s the 2 bottles of wine by the cover in the picture.
