Ring Lost On Siesta Key, Recovered By SRARC

Harma stepped out of her back door on Siesta Key to call her dog back inside. As dogs sometime do, it refused to come in so she went out to wave it in. She waved her hand toward the door and off flew a very precious ring into the night. Harma and her husband both searched the yard but had no luck at all. She remembered that her friend and neighbor Leslie had recently lost a ring and it was recovered by a local group called the SRARC ring finders. She contacted Howard Metts and Mike Miller responded to the callout. Mike searched for about an hour and was loosing hope but decided to change coils and research the area. In short order he got a promising hit and sure enough out came the ring. This was not just any ring, it was her grandfathers wedding band which had been passed down to her and she was just heart broken that she had lost it. If you look closely you will see the wedding date of in Holland of 14/8/15. SRARC is ever so happy to have returned this precious heirloom to Harma.

In September 2019, Jim called me for my help in finding a ring on the grounds of the Cumberland Monastery.  The spinner ring held special meaning for Jim as it was a souvenir of a trip to Israel.  It was lost while playing football with family.  I located the ring in two minutes, barely time for him to drive off the grounds!  Jim was thrilled to have this special ring returned to him.

During a snow storm in December 2019, Lee lost his rose gold wedding band while playing with his Labrador retriever.  He was anxious to find his ring, so he purchased a metal detector.  After unsuccessfully searching for his ring, Lee decided to turn to someone who was experienced in the use of a metal detector.  It took about two hours for me to find the wedding band as Lee was not exactly sure where it was lost.  Lee and his wife of less than two months were very happy to have the ring returned to them.

Andy contacted me in January 2020 and asked for help in finding his platinum wedding band.  He was sure the ring was lost in his backyard a year prior while he was gardening.  He accidently planted his ring in the ground along with some bulbs and bushes.  Andy borrowed a metal detector but couldn’t locate the ring.  After searching various areas for over two hours, I found the ring about six inches in the ground, close to where he had planted a rhododendron bush.  Andy was excited to have his ring back.  His wife exclaimed, « That’s awesome!  You’re the man! ».

Wedding Ring Lost In Sarasota And Recovered By SRARC

Steve and Leslie were out on the back canal cleaning dirt and leaves out of their boat. Leslie reached into the anchor storage vault and was flipping a hand full of leaves out into the water when she felt and saw her wedding ring fly off with the leaves and kerplunk into the water. She was very distraught and quickly went an put her snorkeling gear on to see if she could find it. She searched as long as she could but could just not find it. Later that evening she googled for help and discovered the SRARC ring finders group. After arrangements were made, Mike Shuler and Mike Miller arrived to do a search. The area was so small that they decide to only have one hunter go in. Mike Shuler hunted for a couple hours but had no luck and with the tide rising they decided to come back another day. About a week and a half later, at the next extra low tide, they returned and this time Mike Miller took a turn. In about ten minutes up came the ring. Mike and Mike had a great time returning the ring and enjoying the big smile on Leslie’s face. She graciously invited us into her home and provided us with a tour and coffee, and Bloody Mary’s. We had a great conversation and can only say we are so happy to have been able to return her ring.

Lost Platinum Ring In The Leaves Found In Rochester Hills Michigan

  • from Detroit (Michigan, United States)

She Couldn’t Beleaf Her Eyes!

The pictured lady’s husband and children were enjoying a typical Detroit area autumn weekend this past Saturday, raking the final drop of leaves into piles, jumping and rolling around in them, but while enjoying the cool crisp air filled with the scent of orange, brown, red and yellow foliage his ring came off.
Thoughts of not finding it after they searched started to take root, with many disagreenments on where it could be, as he had to take a leaf of absence today on a business trip. Taking a leaf of faith she branched out to seek help. When we talked I assured her that I fernly beleaf that I will find it, there was no treety to sign and all that was needed was a qualitree search, and just leaf the work to me. Pushing my electronic rake thru the various piles I got a nice signal in a deep patch of leaves.
Brushing them aside, as the platinum ring came into view we both exclaimed…Son of a birch! There it is!… as she stared in disbeleaf!
After a few pics, hot chocolate and enjoying turning over a new leaf I said, well I’ll leaf you alone now, there’s not mushroom for me to contreebute.

Lost in Snow a 22K Yellow Gold Recovered in Schaumburg, Illinois.

  • from Las Vegas (Nevada, United States)

The first snow of the season, although a bit early, creates another opportunity to help someone. Received a call that his wife had lost her 22K gold wedding band while walking in the first snow of the season. Even though it was late afternoon, they wanted me to come. I figured maybe 2 hours before sunset, so I was a little concerned.

I arrives at 3:58 and left at 4:10. Not a bad hunt! The husband had a similar ring, so I was able to get a reading. Her name was in raised letters, so I will not show that. I used my AT Gold detector with a large coil. As you can see this was not a small thin ring!! Usually in my experience, gold rings ring up in the 44-55 range. This ring, because of the 22K, rang up in the 69-75 range. Just a note for AT Gold users.
