White Gold Necklace with Diamond Pendant Lost in the Sand, Found and Returned North Myrtle Beach SC

This was my second call of the day, and it started with a text from Emma saying, “Hi I saw the website and I lost a necklace. I’m not sure of your pricing. I lost a necklace, it’s very sentimental to me and I will pay anything just to find it again. We’re in North Myrtle. Is there any way we can pay you to help me. Just give me a call back or text messages. Thank you. Have a good one!” I called the number attached to the text to get more details. One of the things she told me was that the necklace and pendant were stainless steel. Emma explained that her mother had gotten her the necklace and that her mother has since passed away. I told Emma I had a slight delay but would be there as quick as I could.

When I got there, I met Emma at the boardwalk to the beach, and we walked out on the beach. Emma told me that she had taken the necklace off and given it to a friend. The friend put it in a hat and set it on the beach. As they were leaving the beach, the friend picked up the hat and put it on his head. At that point he remembered the necklace, but it was too late. The necklace quickly disappeared into the dry sand. They spent a lot of time looking for it with no luck, hence the phone call to me. I started outside the search area, but Emma moved me a little lower on the beach. A couple of grid lines, I hit a solid 10 on the metal detector. Since she said it was stainless steel, I was expecting a signal in the 20s. I moved the sand with my foot looking for the item. Finally, I got a little glimmer of something shiny. I reached down and pulled out Emma’s Necklace and handed it to her. I told Emma that I thought her necklace was white gold instead of stainless steel based on the number I got on the detector and what I was looking at. Regardless of the metal it is or isn’t, Emma got her very precious necklace back and was very happy.

MY BEST RECOVERY, A LOST GOLD & SILVER HOARD FOUND

Barry who claimed to be eccentric, buried his stash of 30 gold Maple Leafs, 40 Quarter oz Gold  coins, 1500 Silver Maple Leafs,  and various other coins under his patio in boxes and bags, he went to retrieve some of them that he buried shallow on the edge of the patio. After digging for a couple of hours and his hands all blistered, he got a friend with a metal detector to help him locate the coins with no  success. Now he is devastated that they can not be found, he searched the internet and found me, asking if I could assist him. I drove the over 100k to his home and had a lengthy conversation with him, as he told me that he had talked about the coins with his neighbour. I then crawled under his patio with my metal detector not feeling very confident. After crawling around for 20 minutes and digging a few nails I got a fairly decent signal, digging down around 6 or 7 inches I saw a garbage bag and dug around it only to hit a bright yellow monster box that holds silver maple leafs. We were both excited and after detecting and digging  around, I found the bulk of his coins in plastic coin tubes, except the ones we suspect his neigbour found. What a great guy, his intent is to donate the coins to various Children`s Charities.

Mike and his wife were enjoying their week at a condo in north Florida and somehow he dropped his favorite knife in the sand and it just disappeared without a trace. For the next few days he tried looking for it but the soft sand seemed to have swallowed it up and he pretty much gave up hope of ever seeing it again. My wife and I arrived on Wednesday to spend a few days with friends and of course I had brought my metal detector along and the first evening of our stay I grabbed my metal detector and Xtreme scoop and wandered down onto the beach. I started detecting around the nightly fire pit and that is when Mike and Debbie approached me and Mike told me about his lost pocket knife. I assured him that I would definitely be on the lookout and would let him know if I happened to dig it up. Two hours later and quite a ways down the beach I got a signal that sounded more iron than non-ferros but I chose to investigate none the less and after kicking away a few inches of sand…there was a black pocket knife that had the brand name of Kershaw on the belt clip. That was the exact brand that Mike said he had lost and he could not believe it when I showed him my discovery! Mike’s wife said he carries his knife where ever he goes and has had that knife for many years. It is made right here in America and Mike is carrying it again today!
Again I thank the Lord for helping me find and return Mike’s knife and for giving me the opportunity to be a blessing and being able to meet such a kind and lovely couple!

*** Steve had recently been given a beautiful gold ring that his father had worn for many years. He had not taken the time to have it properly sized and he has never worn a ring.

Well, after wearing the ring for only a couple weeks, he lost it when he threw a banana piel of his balcony. He was able to feel the ring come off his finger at the time the throw was made. The hillside was full of vegetation and dead leaves, making it nearly impossible to visually find.

Steve found my contact information online. I was able to meet him at his residence in Pasadena, Calif. Shortly after discussing his situation. This was not an emergency because it was a private residence. I could have set up an appointment for later in the week. The ring wasn’t going anywhere.

I try to work with the person’s schedule so they don’t have to take off work or miss an important appointment.

His ring was recovered using my metal detector, completely covered by dead leaves. Probably because he had walked over the area trying to find it before calling me.

Steve was very appreciative, because this was the only thing he had to remember his father who had passed away several years ago.

Jonathan was enjoying a warm sunny day at New Smyrna Beach with his family and friends and as they packed up their things and were driving home he noticed that his white gold and platinum wedding ring was not on his finger. He thought back to when he last remembered having his ring and sometime during the day he recalled taking his ring off and either he « thought » he put it in his pocket or may have set it down on a towel…he was not exactly sure! Later he searched through his things and at one point he remembered throwing some items into the trash but for the life of him he could not recall exactly what happened. He found The Ring Finders online and gave me a call. So early the next morning we met at the beach and Jonathan showed me the exact area where he and his family had staked out their two canopy tents and he assured me that he spent most of his time sitting in the shade as he watched all the activity and commotion going on around him. So I began my grid search wide of the area thinking that his ring could have fallen anywhere in the general area. I dug up two small pieces of foil and then 5 minutes later I got a nice strong signal that I was sure had to be Jonathans lost ring. I called him over to watch as I slowly brushed the sand away and a small glimmer of gold revealed itself. Jonathan was thrilled to see his lost ring sitting there in the sand just waiting for him to pick it up and slip it back on his finger.

How I thank God for allowing me to be a help and blessing to Jonathan and the thrill never gets old when finding something that was lost and being able to reunite it again with it’s rightful owner!

Lost Wedding Ring

Lost Wedding Ring found! 

It all started with a missed call from Jack. He reached out to me on behalf of his wife, Aly, who had lost her wedding ring at the shoreline the previous evening. As a Ring Finder, every call is an opportunity to help restore something truly precious—and I was determined to help.

Jack provided me with detailed photos and described where he thought the ring had slipped off Aly’s finger. Based on his information, I planned to search at first light, when the tide and beach would be at their quietest.

At sunrise, I arrived at the beach, fired up my XP Deus 2 metal detector, and began to grid the sand systematically. After a while, I started to unearth several fishing weights—common clutter in beach hunting. Suddenly, my detector coil died. My heart sank for a moment, but I hustled back to my truck, hoping I had a spare. Luckily, I found an extra coil, swapped it out, and got back to work.

Returning to the search area, I continued gridding carefully. After a few more targets, I dug out another fishing weight. I rechecked the hole, and the detector sang once more. As I lifted my scoop, there it was—a beautiful ring gleaming in the morning sun!

There was no one else around on the beach, so I headed back to my truck, eager to call Jack with the good news. But wouldn’t you know it—my phone had died, too! I plugged it in to charge, and as soon as it powered on, I texted Jack to let him know the ring had been found.

Jack met me at the beach a little while later. I handed Aly’s beautiful wedding ring back to him—safe, sound, and sparkling.

Thank you, Jack and Aly, for allowing me to be a part of this special recovery. Returning lost items is always rewarding, but it’s even more meaningful when it’s something as precious as a wedding ring.

Lost Ring Recovered in Waimānalo!

I recently called Joe and while in conversation Joe let me know about a lost ring that’s in the water at Waimānalo Beach. Joe had already searched the beach area—combing through the beach and wet sand—but didn’t go out into the surf as it was like a washer machine and would of made it impossible to search in the water. Joe asked if I would give it a shot, and I gladly accepted.

After gathering all the details and adjusting my work schedule, I made the trip over the mountains to beautiful Waimānalo. Once there, I located the general area where Gabby believed the ring had been lost. I powered up my XP Deus II and started grid searching the area.

After multiple passes and a solid effort against the choppy surf, I began to think the ring might not be where she initially suspected. I pushed into deeper waters, hoping for better luck. Soon enough, I picked up a signal and dug—only to pull up a pull tab. Not giving up, I scanned the hole again and got another tone. I dug once more, and this time, sitting inside my extreme scoop was a stunning diamond ring!

Excited, I contacted Gabby right away. She was thrilled and verified the ring—it was hers! Later that evening, we met up at Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, where I returned the ring. There were big smiles, relief, and a lot of joy.

Kendall was attending a horse riding show as a participant in Marion County Florida when in her rush to comb out her horse’s tail she lost a very precious ring that her loving father had given her when she was 16 years old. She actually felt her ring slip off but it landed in the sawdust covered horse stall and it immediately disappeared. But she was in a hurry and did not want to be late for her showing and thought that when she was finished she would find her lost ring. After her ride she returned to the stall and began looking through the saw dust and horse manure but for all her efforts she was unable to find her lost gold ring! She posted her dilemma on Facebook and someone sent her my name and said « Call Mike…he will help you! ». So later that day I met Kendall and was able to find her lost ring which was mixed in quite well with all the sawdust and horse chips.

Man’s Rose Gold Wedding Band Lost in a Severe Storm on the Beach – Found and Returned North Myrtle Beach SC

Last night I received a text message about 12:20 am from Savannah saying, “Hello, my husband and I are at North Myrtle Beach, and we were out this afternoon taking family pictures with our children and got stuck in a really bad storm and as we were running off the beach my husband’s ring flew off. I was wondering if you guys helped find rings or if you knew someone that could. We know the area it fell off but think sand is over it due to how bad the wind was.” I immediately responded asking her to call me, which she did. I got a few more details and told her I could be there in about 10 minutes. She agreed, so I grabbed 2 detectors and headed out. I don’t like to leave a ring on the beach for too long. There’s so many locals and tourist that metal detect all hours of the day/night depending on the tides. So, there’s always a chance a ring will be found and kept by the finder.

I arrived at the location and Savannah and her husband, Dwight was waiting for me in the parking lot. They walked me out to the area, and I could see that they had put in a good effort to try and find the ring with their hands. It wasn’t a real big area, but after quite a while of gridding and then cross gridding, I wasn’t finding Dwight’s ring. They decided to call it a night sometime after 2 am, after I assured them I’d text them when I found it. I grabbed my second detector, with a 15” coil out of the car and started all over again. I expanded the search area 10 ft past the end point and worked an east/west grid. I went from the bottom of the dunes to the top of the slope, probably 35-40 yards end to end. By now, I was way outside the assumed area Dwight said he felt his ring slide off his finger. After at least another 30 minutes, I got a very loud and solid signal. It showed me a vdi (visual display indicator) of 20-21. Of all the rings I’ve found, a man’s Rose Gold band was not one of them, so I didn’t know what number to expect. I dug a shallow scoop of sand and saw a quick glimmer of gold as I lifted up the scoop. Shook the scoop and there was Dwight’s ring sitting in the bottom of the scoop. BINGO! It was now 3 am, but I text Savannah anyway with a picture of the ring. Almost instantly she responded, “Coming down now, thank you SO MUCH. We met up and I handed Dwight back his lost treasure. Both were extremely happy. We met up again this afternoon so I could get some pictures. This is their last day of vacation so at least it’ll be a good one! Looking back on this find and discussing it with Savannah and Dwight, there’s no logical explanation of how the ring ended up so far away from where it should have been. The only thing we could come up with is that the wind was blowing so hard, it literally blew his ring 30-40 yards down the beach. It was a very strong wind though!

Tuesday, I got a FB text from Thomas.  He said that he and his wife, Madelyn had been to New Smyrna Beach.  During the trip their wedding ring set had been put on the beach towel.  When they packed up to leave, the beach towel was picked up and the rings went flying.

I told him that I would go right down to look.  As I drove along, I whispered a quiet prayer, « Please God, help me find these rings. »

When I arrived, I began gridding in the 95-degree heat with my Minelab Manticore.  Thomas had been very exact about their location, but I found no rings.  I was about to give up, having covered the entire area multiple times finding only trash items and coins.

Just then, a car that had been there the entire time pulled out.  I quickly, ran over and got an immediate hit.  It was a ring with a big, beautiful diamond!!  Only, a foot away, another beautiful diamond ring!  Thank you God!

Later that week the wedding set was returned to the happy owners.
