Lost rings found at North Avenue Beach Chicago

  • from Las Vegas (Nevada, United States)
Contact:

Got a call at 8:30AM on Sunday, Fathers Day.
Woman was very upset that she lost both her wedding band and her engagement ring at North Ave Beach on Saturday. Took off her rings to put on lotion and forgot they were on her lap. She was leaving Chicago shortly on Sunday. Time was of the essence.  Didn’t want to break the news to her husband on Father’s Day that she lost both rings. Since they were white gold and I didn’t know how small they were, I decided to take the XP Deus and hunt in 18kHz. They had been searching the area 3 different times and lots of people had been trying to help her find them. I gridded off the area that she had been in. They were both down about 5 inches. Probably because people had been moving the sand around. Both rings came in at 45 in my ring program that Andy Sabisch helped me set up at his XP Deus Bootcamp. As you can see the wedding band was very thin, although covered in diamonds. Don’t think I would have found it if I had not been in 18kHz. Found it in less than 10 minutes.
The owner was in tears she was so relieved. She kept saying that I saved her. She was so excited to get the rings back on her hands that you can still see the sand on them!  It’s great to be able to help people. What a great hobby. Thanks Andy, thanks XP Deus team, thanks Ron Shore from Windy City Detector Sales and Rental, and special thanks to The Ringfinders Database so she could find me.

Lost Wedding Band Found at Jericho Beach, Vancouver.

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

Summer is knocking at the door/beach already! The temperature will be in the high 80’s for the next 10 days and people are hitting the beach hard!

That being said I got a call yesterday about a lost wedding band at Jericho beach, it was lost in the ocean and they looked for an hour with no luck and the young man’s wife came back the next day and spent another hour or more searching at low tide…No luck!

Thankfully the lifeguard passed the young couple my rack card and told them about… TheRing Finders.com

I met Chris at the beach this morning around 9am and he showed me the location the ring was lost at and because I had to wait a couple of hours for the tide to go out he hit the road for a bike ride.

I hunted the beach dry & wet sand for a while and found 7 $2.00 coins and 2 $1.00 coins and some dimes & quarters.

About an hour later I hit the water and found Chris’ tungsten carbide wedding band in about 8-10 minutes at chest deep water.

I love my jog!

Lost Wedding Ring recovered Lutz, Fl

When Mike Ruelf set his 22k gold wedding band down on his dock on Wednesday night, the story begins.  After hearing a plop, he realized his band was now at the bottom of the lake.  What to do…..what to do.  Surely his wife of eight months would understand……right???  He could call the jeweler and get another ring…….plead ignorance.  At least his wife was up in Virginia and not in the house.  A quick internet search for metal detectors for rental was commenced, but somehow the world wide web led Mike to the ring Finders web site.  Suncoast Resaerch and Recovery Club president Tom Jones took the call and immediately contacted Mark Prue in North Tampa.  Mark only lives about three miles from Mike and arranged to meet him Thursday afternoon.  After introductions, Mark donned his water gear and slogged his way beneath the dock.  Hampered by 8 to 10 inches of muck and weeds, up came a nail…another nail….a quarter…..a fourth nail…and finally…..BINGO!!  Mike let off an unrestrained « YYYEEEESSSSS » and high fives were shared all around.  Mike’s final words before Mark departed after a large helping of « thank-yous » was « I can’t believe there are people who actually do this! »   At least the story has a happy ending and Mike avoids the doghouse!

Lost Rolex Watch at 3rd Beach at Stanley Park, Vancouver…Found!

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

I got  call and an email and a text message in regards to a lost Rolex Watch at 3rd beach in Stanley Park last night. The young man as you could imagine was pretty upset and found my service on the internet a day after he lost his watch.  He went back with a rake and searched the water but no luck.I called Patrick and told him that low tide was around 4 am and I’d like to meet him at 2am to start the search as the tide was going out.I met patrick in North Vancouver at 2am and we drove to 3rd beach to search for his Rolex. When we got to the beach Patrick showed me the area he thought the watch was at. It was a pretty  big area and the fact it was black out it was hard for him to pinpoint the exact area.I started the grid search with the help of Patrick who stood on the shoreline with a flashlight so I could use that as my reference point…After 45 minutes in about waste deep water we were rewarded with a beautifully  Rolex watch in my water scoop!I let out a yell that got Patrick very excited and when I got to shore I put the watch in his hand… This watch was very special  as he bought it after he graduated from carpentry school 3 years ago…Thank you very much Patrick for the generous reward! I will be donating 15 % of the reward money to Children’s Hospital as I do with all my recoveries.I love my job!Lost something?Call me ASAP!Watch the video of the recovery on the link below… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3R9mzGpf7mc

Lost Stainless Steel Wedding Band at 3rd Beach Stanley Park…Found

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

I received a call the other day in regards to a lost Stainless Steel wedding band that a young man had lost at 3rd beach in Stanley Park, Vancouver.

I met up with the man and his friend and they told me the story how they were throwing a frisbee and when he came out of the water the ring was gone.

These searches can take a while because you have to set the grid until you get in the right area and I did get in the right area after 30 minutes…

I love my job and I love to see the smiles after you find what you’re looking for…I’ll never get tired of this job!

Thank you Sean for the kind reward!

Found Diamond Ring at Centennial Beach, Tsawwassen, BC

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

I was at work on a Monday and I received a call from a young lady who ask me if I could find her husbands lost diamond wedding band at Centennial Beach in Tswwassen BC. She told me that the ring could have been lost while he was playing volleyball or out in the ocean while he was swimming.

I met with Sasha that evening and before the park was closed she showed me the area that the ring could be lost in and it was huge! I got permission from the park ranger to stay and search the area for a few hours, Sasha went home and I spent 3 hours searching the dry sand and a little bit of the water. I had no luck the first night but I felt good that it wasn’t in the dry sand and I knew that it would be a long shot that someone already found it in such a huge area when the tide is out.

My wife Beverley came out a week later at low tide to help me grid search the wet sand, she was ready to go out and find the ring and the competition was on! I found a two dollar coin and yelled out that I did! Then a couple of quarters, some dimes and after 1 1/2 hours of a slow grid search I got another signal and found a nickel, and I yelled out to Beverley more change…A second later she yells out…FOUND IT! I’m thinking what? Then she yells out again…FOUND IT! I FOUND THE RING!!! I thought she was joking until i see her dancing in the ankle deep water .

I couldn’t believe it! It only took us 1 1/2 hours in a huge area to find the young man’s ring! This was amazing and Beverley was so happy! It’s a great feeling when you can help someone and this young couple told us that they had given up and were ready to claim it on their insurance.

It was nice to do another hunt with my wife and this was the first time we had ever been to this beach, we met a lady who was metal detecting the beach and we talked for a while, she told us that she was 90 years old! OMG!!! We still have a good 40 years of helping people find what they thought was lost for ever!!!

One other note…We got an email that night and someone had lost his wedding band at the same beach we found this one…Beverley found that one too at midnight!

We love our job!
