Wedding Band recovered in Brick NJ by Dennis Burlingame

Got a call last night from Helen asking if I could help in locating her husband’s Larry’s wedding band. Told her I’d be happy to and made arrangements to meet them the next day. Turns out that Helen and Larry were having an argument in during that Larry gave his ring back to Helen and in the heat of the moment she threw it off the back deck. Regretting it they tried to find it but had no luck. In doing so they threw things off the deck to get an idea where it might be. Helen said to me it was further back in the yard and I started there but no results. The second area was closer to the deck and within about 15 feet of it I found his ring. She must of thrown it more down then out. They were so glad to get his ring back and promised no more arrangements. A great happy ending.

Wedding Ring Found in Ice in Central Vermont

11/27/22

Just got a call from a lady who’s husband has lost his ring. He was hand digging a French drain around the foundation to try to keep most of the water from getting into their basement. He lost it yesterday and they haven’t been able to find it.

I went right over and he showed me the search area. I got started and as expected there were tons of signals around their older house. But, miraculously, in only about 10 minutes, I got a solid ring tone, dug into the frozen ice and slush about 2 inches, and there it was in perfect condition!

They were both so happy and declared that they were “married again”!!

It’s back where it belongs, right on his finger, and he got right back to diggin!

Family Heirloom Engagement Ring Recovered in Spring Lake NJ by Dennis Burlingame

I got a text from Tim after he found me doing a Google search asking if I could help in locating his wife’s engagement ring. They weren’t sure if it was lost in their yard or the house but after searching the house they thought it had to be in the back yard. I was off work the next day so we made arrangements to meet in the morning. Tim’s wife was filling up a bird feeder in the back yard when she felt her wedding band slide off her hand. She found it at her feet but a family heirloom engagement ring was missing. They walked around the yard but couldn’t find it. She showed me the path she walked after filling the feeder to where it was hung, then she remembered she stood on the back porch and threw some dog treats to her dog in the yard. I figured that when the ring might of came off. I started a grid of the yard and on the 5th pass right about where the treats would of landed I found her ring shinning in the sun between the blades of grass. ( they didn’t want their picture published and sorry bout the blade of grass in the picture )
She was so happy to get her precious ring back where it belonged. The big smile and hug said it all and made it worth while. Glad I could help.

Lost ring at Huntington Beach Park found

  • from Sunset Beach (California, United States)

CALL SURF CITY RING FINDER ASAP  714-944-0555

Livi contacted me and asked if I could help find her wedding ring she lost yesterday at a local park while throwing a ball to her dog. She got my info from a friend of hers that had heard about my service.
Livi showed me where she threw the ball and I started my search in the direction of her throw. After a good hour of grid searching with no ring to be found I decided to search the spot where she was standing while throwing the ball. Right away I received a nice tone that was showing very shallow on my depth meter.
Her gold diamond ring was nestled in the grass and the search was over.

Gold Necklace Recovered In Millstone New Jersey by Dennis Burlingame

Got a call from David on Wednesday while at work asking if I could help locating a necklace his daughter Reese lost while playing in a field with her friends. While being chased by her friends, running her hand came up and caught her necklace ripping it off her neck. She was devastated, the necklace was a gift from her late grandmother who passed away last October from cancer. She has worn it everyday since she received it. David went out that night with a flashlight for a couple of hours hoping to see it but had no luck. That’s when he contacted me for help. I told him I’d come out Friday after work to look for it. Luckily her sister had an identical necklace and I used that one to make sure I could detect it seeing it was such a thin delicate chain. I couldn’t detect the chain itself but was able to hear the stone wrapped in gold that was on the chain. They showed me an area they thought it might of been, but after awhile I had no luck. I asked Reese to think again what happened and she said it might of been over a little bit from where I had detected. Tried there but still no luck. It was getting late and I told him I’d try again the next morning. They were away Saturday, but I went back and really grid the last area we were in and about 2 3rds the way through it I found her necklace. I texted David the good news and he couldn’t believe it. They were so grateful I went back and was able to find it. We met up on Sunday for the return. I’m so glad I was able to find it so Reese can always remember her grandmother with such a irreplaceable memento.

Ring Returned on Harwich Cape Cod, MA Beach

  • from Cape Cod (Massachusetts, United States)

A year had passed since wedding vows were exchanged on a small footbridge and today another emotional moment took place just over the same footbridge, a cherished wedding band was “lost” in the sand. A very stressful hour passed with many hands helping in the search the sand for the ring. A few calls had been made one to the police, one to the beach superintendent two to my wife, Jane, who finally got in touch with me. I had been out detecting and was on my way home. That segment of the trip would have to wait, I was now on my way south, not west to my home. At this point I was unsure just which beach I needed to end up at. Jane relayed messages between Catherine the beach’s gate attendant, Sarah, and me. I arrived at the beach with a big sign telling me were to find Sarah, thanks to Catherine’s foresight as the beach was about to close for the evening.

Sarah had removed her rings to apply sunscreen lotion, putting the rings safely in her pants pocket. Lotion applied, it was the removal and folding of her pants when her engagement ring fell from the pocket into a beach bag, The wedding band did not follow the engagement ring, but rather fell on the sand and disappeared from sight. As it usually happens, many of the beachgoers helped search the sandy area to no avail. The ring would not see the fading sunlight until my third signal when I recovered it. I left the ring in my scoop so Sarah could remove the ring and place it back on her finger.

Several hugs, congratulations, cheers from near-by beach goers filled everyone’s face with a smile. Catherine even showed up as the many Thank Yous continued and the usual picture taking and answering of questions followed. It was time to leave the beach and as we did a nice chat was had between three of us, Sarah, Josh her husband, and myself. It was difficult for me to tell just who had the biggest smile. It really did not matter, the “lost ring” had been found and returned. A beautiful ending to a beautiful day on Cape Cod.

Lost Cell Phone Returned to Owner at Bayview Beach, Dennis, MA

  • from Cape Cod (Massachusetts, United States)

August 20, 2022
I was called to find a bracelet but as I was searching, I was asked “Had I found the phone? What? No, I was looking for a bracelet. I saw disappointment in the inquisitive face. I could not let it go, I said where was it lost and was it waterproof? Here and yes, it was waterproof. OK, I will search for both.

After about two hours of searching and finding only two beer bottle twist off caps and two pull tabs I was beginning to think there may be something wrong with my detector. No, it was just that the beach was heavily detected, and all good targets had been removed. Then my ears began to ring with a sound like I had just swung the detector’s coil over a large beer can. But I had to scoop carefully just in case it was a precious object. Yes, it was the yellow phone. Mike came over to me and in disbelief said: “It is still working!”

A couple of quick Thank Yous and he was off toward the shoreline. I continued to search for the Bracelet. A few minutes later Mike and his niece Pina came back into the water and thanked me again.
I had no means of taking any information so I asked if they would please text me with the information I needed for this blog. It is so wonderful that I get to see many smiling faces and hear cheers form the beach goers when I get to return a precious item and in this case an item filled with many photo memories, ones that could not be replaced.

Unfortunately, I have not yet found the bracelet that I had initially been called to help find. I had stayed well after dark on Saturday and returned Sunday morning for another two-hour search. I will return mid-week and expand the area of search. It is not time to give up hope, there are other detectorists I will keep in touch with as one might just find the bracelet before I do. Until then I will keep Pina’s smile in my phone and perhaps it will bring a bit of good luck for me to locate the bracelet.

Mike: thanks for not giving up on your family’s and your searching efforts. Had you left without giving me your contact information, I may not have been able to unlock the phone and retrieve information that would have led to Pina. And I would not have a wonderful smile to remind me of her hope to have her phone returned.

Gold Chain with Two Wedding Rings recovered at Spring Lake Beach NJ by Dennis Burlingame

While at work on Thursday I got a text from Julianna who found me doing a Google search about lost jewelry at beach asking if I thought I’d be able to help her find her mother’s lost chain and rings she lost while swimming. Julianna and her mother were enjoying the beach on the Sunday before when her mother went into the water and got knocked into by a wave and felt her gold chain slip over her head into the ocean. She was so devastated and sad she didnt tell her daughter till Wednesday what had happened. The chain held her mom’s and late father’s wedding bands. Her father had passed away in 2019 and her mom has been wearing the rings around her neck ever since. Low tide that night was 730, I got to the beach at 530 to start hunting. When I got there I saw that a sand bar had formed in the past couple of days of rough sea and thought her chain had to be buried to deep to find. I started mid slope and worked my way down the slope, into a trough that was before the sand bar with no luck. I moved onto the bar and wasn’t getting to much out there either, it was getting late thinking it was a lost cause I figured I’d do 1 more pass on my way back to my jeep and about 15 feet away I got a soft deep double signal, mid tune and low tone together indicating 2 possible gold pieces. I dug a foot of sand out and at the bottom of the hole I saw a gold chain laying there. Reached down and pulled it up and the 2 rings came with it. I couldn’t believe it. I called Julianna when I got to the jeep to give her the good news. Made arrangements to meet up with her on Saturday to return her mom’s necklace. This one was a great feeling and recovery for all.

Recovered Wedding Band at Ocean Grove NJ by Dennis Burlingame

I got a text from Rachel asking for help in finding her husband’s wedding band early last Saturday. While enjoying the day on the beach ( Friday) her husband went in for a dip to cool off and felt his ring slide off his finger, he tried to grab it but it was to late. I headed down to the beach but had no luck finding parking, went back down at 3 o’clock and lucked out with someone leaving so I grabbed their spot. It was already low tide so I got to work but being so hot there were alot of people in the water and it was hard to detect. Figured the only way to look for it was to go down for 3am low tide. Got to beach at 2am and after gridded in the water for an hour and half I found his ring. Living up north I had to do the return the following Friday. They were so grateful to get his ring back.

IPhone ProMax recovered at Spring Lake Beach NJ by Dennis Burlingame

I justed walked in from work when my phone rang. Walter was calling asking for help in locating his IPHONE ProMax. While enjoying the day at Spring Lake Beach, Walter and his wife were sitting at the top of the slope, Walter had his back turned to the ocean checking his cellphone when a rogue wave came out of nowhere and knocked into him causing him to drop his phone. There was a trough behind them and he saw his phone land into the water in the trough. When the water resided they tried to find it, even asking the kids in the area to help dig through the sand with their hand to try and find it but with no luck. I started a grid in the trough and on the 3rd pass I heard a nice high tone and after removing some sand there was Walter’s phone. He was so relieved to have his phone back, and to make sure it still work he called his wife who was only 15 feet away. A great ending to what could of been a bad day. Happy to help.
