LOST COBALT WEDDING RING IN WENDEL…….FOUND!!!

  • from Fayetteville (North Carolina, United States)

Received a call from a couple that the husband had lost his cobalt wedding ring in the yard.

Arranged a good date and time to meet and attempt to find it. Took me about 15 mins because it wasn’t in the flower bed where he thought he had lost it. It was about 3 feet out in the grass. Got a 55 in Deus mono due to very high EMI.

Feels good to recover and return priceless items.

Ring lost at Mission Bay found

  • from La Jolla (California, United States)

Sydney along with her family and friends were visiting here in town. They were having a beach party on Mission Bay to celebrate a friend’s upcoming wedding. Sydney went out into the bay, and when she returned to the sand, shook the water off her hands, and discovered in horror that her engagement ring was also flung off her finger and into the dry sand. Everyone tried to help « finger rake » through the sand to recover the ring, but, no luck. A friend of their’s found TheRingFinders.com and my contact info. I dropped what I was doing, gathered my gear and my wife and headed down to the bay to help. After finding parking a bit away, we walked to the bay boardwalk and beach. Looking down the beach, we could see a white canopy and many people gathered. That looks like the place and it was confirmed after a short text to Sydney. After introductions and the story on how and where the ring was lost, I started my grid of about a 15′ X 15′ box they scraped into the sand and felt was the likely search area. I started at one edge and on the first pass came up with 3 crusty zinc cents, return pass produced just a token and then on the third pass, the sound I was waiting for, a nice engagement ring in the scoop. Cheers all around and a nice hug for me!  A pleasure to meet you all and thank you for the reward.

Another ring lost at Coronado found

  • from La Jolla (California, United States)

Hunter and his family were here visiting from Arizona and spent the day at the beach in Coronado. While brushing sand off his hands, his gold wedding ring went flying into the soft dry sand. Everyone tried to help find it by raking their fingers through the sand in hopes that they could snag it that way. Unfortunately, that rarely works, and their efforts were in vain. In their search for help, TheRingFinders.com was recommended which brought them to my contact information. As chance would have it, I was already out detecting that day and just had to jump into my vehicle and head over to Coronado. A half hour later, I’m on the scene getting the story and probable location of the ring. About 30 seconds later, I got my first signal, and one right in the range of a typical man’s gold band. Into the sand went the pin pointer, and out came Hunter’s ring. Vacation mood saved and off to dinner they went to celebrate. A pleasure meeting you all, and thank you for the reward.

Ring lost at Coronado found

  • from La Jolla (California, United States)

Meredith was at Coronado Beach with her son. She took off her wedding and engagement rings to apply some lotion, set the rings in her lab, and forgetting they were there, stood up to shake some sand off her blanket. She didn’t notice where the rings landed, but, searched the best she could sifting sand through her fingers to no avail. An online search brought her to TheRingFinders.com and my contact info. I gathered my gear and headed there before she had to leave and before the chance someone else detecting might find them. After getting the story on how the rings ended up in the sand, I figured the most likely place to start was right in front of the blanket where she first stood up before she shook the blanket. Sure enough, 10 seconds later and the first signal was both her rings in one scoop. A pleasure to meet you and your son Meredith and thank you for the reward.

Katelyn call to request my service to locate her ring while she was out in her garden getting it ready for planting season.

Katelyn showed me the area where she was picking weeds and cleaning up. She had also been digging up a tree root and thought the ring could possibly be there but unfortunately it was not.

I searched the whole back yard with no ring! Then she said she was along the side of the house cleaning up the flower beds and again no ring, so we headed to the front of the house and searched the flower beds!  Two hours of searching with no luck! I could see on Katelyn’s face that she was very disappointed so I decided to do a final sweep of the area just to confirm the ring was not in the garden. Bang! I received the ring tone I was listening for! Her ring was well blended in the lawn and without a metal detector it would have never been found.

I called Katelyn over and showed her where her ring was.  She was jumping with joy to have her ring back on her finger.

Katelyn was married two weeks ago and the ring was of sentimental value from a previous family member, not only that, it was also her wedding ring!

Thank you Katelyn,

Engagement and Wedding Rings Recovered

  • from Orange Beach (Alabama, United States)

It was a beautiful day at Gulf Shores. The family was visiting from Indiana, it was like a reunion. Their first day at the beach. Everything was going great when Lisa chased a little one before he got in water. She was wearing a top with her rings safely tucked away in a pocket that may not have been closed correctly. As she ran to the child, she took off the top and threw it towards her chair and towel. It was much later that she discovered her rings were missing. They called me for some help. I met them at their condo late that afternoon. Her husband Jason, had a fellow with a detector look for it earlier with no luck. Jason tested the detector on a gold chain and it wasn’t able to find it. So, when I got there the first thing Jason asked was will it find gold. He then tossed his gold chain in the sand for a test. Naturally my detector screamed at the chain. I explained that my detector was a state of the art machine and as far as I’m concerned the best on the market. Jason and Lisa pointed out the area they had been and weren’t sure if it was lost on the sand from the discarded top, the water or maybe some place else. Fortunately the tossed top seemed to be the logical place to start. From that point it didn’t take long to recover Lisa’s rings. Jason and Lisa couldn’t believe I was able to find it, commenting a needle in a hay stack. I could feel the tension unwind with family members now that the emergency was over. Everyone’s happy, vacation’s back on. Seeing the situation whole again is the best part being a Ring Finder.

Lost and Found Diamond Rings in Puerto Rico.

This was a joint venture by Jerry Van Buren and Donald O’Reilly to search for two very expensive diamond rings lost in the ocean. We teamed up for this find due to the limited time we had to search in the ocean and the remoteness on the island of Vieques, Puerto Rico.

The following is a write-up sent to both of us after both rings were found and returned to the owner.

Thank you both so much again! We are still in shock that you found the rings! We cannot thank you enough!!

Below is our recounting of the story:

“My husband and I recently vacationed to Puerto Rico with some friends. While we were there, we ferried over to the island of Vieques and visited a rural beach called Playa La Chiva. While we were in about waist deep water tossing a football around, all of a sudden, to my horror, I realized that both my wedding band and engagement ring had slipped off my finger. We all frantically began searching everywhere where we were playing in the water. We searched for about two or three hours with a snorkel and trying to feel in the sand but couldn’t find it anywhere. Obviously it seemed pretty impossible, but we were just praying that we would miraculously find it, but had no luck. I was devastated. The ring was irreplaceable. My husband had made it custom with a diamond from his grandma. This put a damper on the rest of our trip, but what else could we do? We flew home the next day, very sad. However, the night we returned, God gave my husband the idea to look up how to find a lost ring and ringfinders.com came up. He contacted Jerry and Donald separately told him the story and asked if they could help. We soon found out they knew each other and were up for the challenge to search for my ring together. They were very responsive and extremely nice. They gave us hope that just maybe we would be able to find the ring. We provided them with pictures of where we were so they could know the area we lost it on the island. They went out of their way to take the ferry, rent a car in order to get to the beach because the taxis wouldn’t go on the backroads to Playa La Chiva. Within 30 minutes of searching we received a call from them that they found both my engagement ring and wedding band in waist deep water!! We were ecstatic!!! The next day I flew to Puerto Rico to retrieve the rings. They were so nice to drive to meet us and give us the rings. They are so so kind! I’m so grateful for their willingness to search and cannot believe they found my rings! This was nothing short of a miracle! Thank you Jerry and Donald for giving us hope when we had none and going out of your way to help complete strangers! You are incredible!”

I received a call from someone who told me he « Thinks » he lost his 18K gold wedding band on the beach a few days prior. He was not sure where he lost his ring but was on the beach for several hours playing frisbee and when he got home noticed his wedding ring missing. He said he knew it was a long shot but wanted to try anything he could. I asked him to send me a diagram on a map of where he thought he was at the beach. Also needed to know the time frame so I could track the tides on the day he lost it, and a picture of his ring. The next day I went to the area and searched for his ring. 18K gold wedding recovered about 6-8″ deep.
