Neill called about his lost ring. He had been throwing a ball with friends when during a throw he felt his ring come off of his finger. It was a custom ring he had made in Japan, so it had significant sentimental value to him. He and his friends searched for what seemed to be easily found, but were unable to find it. I was available, and let him know I would come immediately.
When I got to the beach I found Neill, and he took me out to the area of the loss. He showed me what had happened, and replayed the motion of when the ring came off. After setting up the equipment, began a tight grid to insure not missing the ring. I made about 5 passes within their original search area, and then began to work outside that perimeter when a nice signal came through the head phones. I put the scoop in, and came up with a solid silver ring. I reached in and held it up for Neill who came over elated that it had been found. this made for the great end of the day.

ty NJ. It had great sentimental value to her, as I could tell after just a short time on the phone. Lucky I was able to arrive promptly, as she had made reservations for later in the afternoon. Kudos to her and her husband for preparing the area it was lost, which made for a quick recovery. A very short time later they were on their way, with her cherished ring back on her finger. So many happy memories doing this.
Got a call Saturday from Karen about her husband Victors ring, that was lost in the sand in Beach Haven on LBI. I met them at 5AM Sunday, but had no luck in locating the ring. Victor was positive the ring had fallen off his chair when he was applying sunblock, so I decided to go back Monday afternoon. After a short while, and with the help of lifeguards Grace, Maggie, and Kyle, the ring was located and returned to Victor.
