Lost family heirloom diamond earring found in Hendersonville, TN

Client Justin reached out to me on 04-22-2025 regarding a lost family heirloom. He explained that his wife was wearing the diamond and silver earrings that she inherited from her now-deceased aunt, and one of them came off as they were walking home from a nearby neighbor’s Easter party in Hendersonville, TN. They were able to find the backing to the earring as well as the outer ring with tiny little diamonds, but could not find the much larger center diamond that was affixed to the sterling silver post. Justin said everyone from the party even came over to the grass covered curb strip and got on their hands and knees to help search, but they couldn’t find the earring. Justin and his wife said I was their last hope in finding the very special earring that had so much sentimental value. No pressure there, but I was ready for the challenge. Justin had the matching earring for me to swing my coil over and see what the target ID came up as, but honestly it was not a strong repeatable signal. Underground power lines may have caused some interference. I did forget to start my stop watch, but after about fifteen to twenty minutes I got the signal I was hoping for. The Bermuda grass on the curb strip had that earring hidden quite well, with the tip of the post pointing straight up and the diamond resting on the soil. Justin and his wife were elated to have the earring back, and said they were going to get screw on backings before the earrings can be worn again. It was a happy ending to the story of the lost diamond earring, and I’m honored to have a roll in the story.

Lost platinum wedding ring lost in Brentwood, TN found with metal detector

I was contacted by a client, we’ll call him “Mr. Charles,” on 04-21-2025 at about 9:30 in the morning regarding a lost ring. I met with Mr. Charles at his beautiful Brentwood, TN home less than an hour later. He had lost his platinum wedding band in his back yard while working on a project. Although the back yard was quite expansive, he was able to narrow the search area because he remembered the areas he had been and just as importantly, where he hadn’t been. I started the stop watch function on my phone and began the search. In just under forty minutes I got the audible signal on my metal detector. The ring was completely concealed in the lush green grass, but there was no hiding from my “magic beep stick.” Mr. Charles only agreed to having his picture taken if I made him unrecognizable, hence then smiley face emoji.

Lost Cell Phone Found in Valencia

This afternoon, I connected with Ryan, whose son lost his cell phone after a fun family day at Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia. They had pulled over on their way home to stretch, somewhere near Newhall or Santa Clarita, but Ryan wasn’t sure of the exact spot. With Ryan now three hours away, I headed out to search without my metal detector—just using my eyes and determination.
The area near Santa Clarita was large, and the kids had been running around, so I began gridding the site.

After several passes, it was clear the phone wasn’t where Ryan thought. Thinking it might have been placed on the car and fallen off, I searched along the roadside. Sure enough, just three feet from traffic in the Santa Clarita dirt, I found the phone! A bit dusty but fully functional, it was lucky no one ran it over.
Since Ryan was out of town, I mailed the phone back from a local Valencia post office. As any parent knows, kids need their phones!

Heirloom Ring Lost in Arbrey, TX

We got a call on Easter Sunday afternoon from a very upset gentleman.  He was at a family gathering for Easter and a water balloon fight broke out.  Rewind a moment …to earlier that day the Grandma of the family had passed along to her 14yr old  Granddaughter a Gold & Diamond Ring she had been wearing for over 60 years, she told her Granddaughter to keep it safe and to pass it down to her children one day.  Then, a little later, the water balloon fight broke out with all the family members.  Lots of laughter, everyone was soaked, everyone so happy and then the granddaughter SCREEMED « my ring is gone! ».  Everyone dropped to their knees and began searching.  The father jumped on the Internet looking for a solution and found « The Ring Finders » website.  He gave me a call and it just so happened we lived on 11 miles away.  So Ellen & I jumped into the truck and drove over.  When we arrived 3 family members were still searching the yard.  Ellen & I began our search over lapping each pass. We checked the field beyond the house and got permission to go over to the neighbors on both sides in case it flew over the fence.  We even used our camera system to check the gutters on the home to no avail.

We decided to make one more pass over the backyard area where the granddaughter had spend most her time.  And on my next to last row/pass, I got a signal that should not have been her ring but then I saw it…

Easter Celebration was saved.. smilies and hugs and tears thanks to the Ring Finders….  It was a Easter to remember.

LOST PLATNIUM ENGAGEMENT RING IN CAMDEN, SC…..FOUND!!!!!

Received a call Wednesday from a gentleman who’s wife had lost her engagement ring while they were out fishing.

They had rented a boat to enjoy spending some quality time fishing together. Just before they were to be putting things away to start heading back, She caought a big catfish and lost her engagement ring mins after the photo was taken. She actually had lost both wedding and engagement but the wedding ring fell in the boat while the engagement feel in about 3-4 feet of water. He tried jumping into the cold water to see if he could save his wife’s ring but sadly with no success. She was understandablly so upset and have been crying.

Thats where I come into the picture. I had to prepare my boat, get my gear ready as I had to plan for a 2.5 hour drive 1-way along with having to cross from the boat ramp side to the other side of the lake to the spot where she lost the ring.

I arrived at 10:00 am, he arrived at about 10:40 and we made the boat ride to the other side. We started where he was pretty confident where she lost it. After a few pulltabs, can pieces, and 2 hours later, I get a good signal that sounds right on top as it should be! After a few scoops I see a platinum diamond ring in the basket!!! By 12:30 ish the ring had been returned. Had to wait for him to get home before he could take a picture of his wife and her happiness!

He told me, “This was so worth it to help my wife stop crying!”

I love helping people find their lost priceless items!!

Tungsten Wedding Ring, Lost In A Durham, Maine Yard, Found With A Metal Detector

I received the following text, from Kelly, on Easter night.

“Hello, Can you help find a ring in my yard in Durham? I believe it is Tungsten”.

“I replied, “Hi Kelly, So sorry to hear this. I have found dozens of Tungsten Rings, over the years. When was the ring lost”?

Kelly replied, “Yesterday. I had it on my hand while I was weeding, it fell off, I found it and put it in my pocket. Did a couple of other things in the yard came inside and went to get the ring out of my pocket and it wasnt there.

I am guessing I put my phone in that same pocket and when I checked my phone at some point the ring came out”.

I then agreed to help Kelly and would meet her, at her home. I told Kelly it would be late morning, as Gary Hill and I had a previous commitment.

I was extremely confident the ring would be found, knowing Kelly knew exactly where she was, when the ring went missing. I just didn’t know how long it would take, because I didn’t know how big of an area, needed to be searched, on her property.

Monday morning, Gary and I finished up our commitment,  I phoned Kelly and told her we would be at her place, shortly. Kelly said she was home and would be waiting for us. Once Gary and I arrived, Kelly was already outside, talking to her neighbor. After brief introductions, I asked Kelly to go over the details of 2 days prior, when the ring went missing and if it was her ring. Kelly told us the ring was actually her husband’s, who had recently passed away, approximately 4 weeks ago. She had been wearing the ring, since his passing and the ring was big on her finger. WOW, Gary and I just glanced at each other and we knew we couldn’t leave until we found this very sentimental and emotional ring.

Kelly then told us the rest of the story.  Kelly was performing some weeding, around the property and after losing the ring once and finding it, she put the ring, in her pocket, for safe keeping. She continued weeding and working around the property. When she finished and went inside, the ring was missing, from her pocket. She said she also had her phone, in her pocket and had removed the phone a few different times, while working outside.

Kelly then showed us the areas, she had worked in and we could see the clumps of weeds, still on the ground.  Kelly also had gone into the tool shed, towards the backyard and she also had gone into the backyard. So it was a fairly good size area that Gary and I would have to search. We wanted to find this ring fast and get it back to Kelly. I would start grid searching the front of the house and Gary would start outback, near the tool shed.

As we searched, Kelly continued to visually search and answered all the questions that Gary and I were asking her. We were finding lots of targets but they were all in the ground, not above the ground, where the ring would be. I finished the front of the yard and now would be grid searching between the house and the raised flower bed and tree. Gary had finished the area near the tool shed and was now searching the lawn, on the side of the house. After 30 minutes of searching, still no ring. It’s amazing how rings just blend in the grass. After approximately 5 minutes of searching between the flower bed and house, I received an extremely loud signal. I looked down, towards the coil and didn’t see anything, for a few seconds and then, BANG, the ring came into focus. It was slightly pressed, into the ground and I suspect that the ring had been stepped on, by Kelly, the previous day. No one had walked in that area, while we were there.

Kelly was standing a few feet, to my right and I took my phone out, set the camera, to the video and then looked at Kelly

I said, “What if I told you I found it”? Kelly replied, “I would be ecstatic”. I then proceeded to tell her that the ring was right in front of her and yes, she was ecstatic, as she saw the ring, in the grass. I could sense the emotion overcoming her and I was so happy for her, to be getting her late husband’s ring back. Gary and I then gave her a hug and her tears of joy and all the other emotions of the last month, just overwhelmed her. Kelly was overcome with emotion and just went inside to deal with everything that had just happened.

Gary and I were also touched by all her emotions and we are so grateful that we are able to help others, like Kelly, in their time of need. There is no better feeling than seeing the happiness and joy we bring to others.

Gold Wedding Band Lost, Recovered and Returned in Media, PA!!!

Ron texted me after finding me in the Ring Finders Directory. He was doing some yard work at his home in Media, PA when his 45 year old gold wedding band slipped off his finger. He was 85% sure it fell off in his backyard. He had searched himself for 2-3 hours before calling a professional. I agreed to meet him the next day and upon my arrival he walked me through the area where he thought in fell off. A gold wedding band on the surface has a very unique signal…I also have the ability to zero in my machine on just gold signals. It was quite a large search area…but I started in the area where he spent the most time. 3-4 minutes into the search I received the signal I was hoping for…looked down…and there was his beautiful gold wedding band shining up at me!!! I called Ron  over and to say he was amazed and happy would be an understatement! I was so happy I was able to get his ring back on his finger!!!

Gold wedding ring lost doing yard work in Portland Oregon

I received a message from Seth, telling me he had lost his wedding ring doing yard work, and “you’re the man to call.”

We had a phone conversation about the circumstances of the loss, and the area.
As it was lost in his yard, I told him I would be able to come out the next day to do the search.

When I arrived, Seth walked me through what he had been doing when his ring went missing. He said he had been mowing the lawn in the front and backyard, wearing gloves, and emptying the clippings into the yard debris bin. He felt sure that the ring had come off in the backyard near the deck, and had even taken off parts of the deck  to search. He also told me he had purchased a metal detector and done some searching himself, but had no success.
I fired up the Manticore and started in the backyard. It turned out the yard was super trashy, with multiple signals, so it was slow going. I found several promising targets, but they were all too deep to be a recently dropped gold ring.
When I left the backyard, I found Seth in the front yard with his recently purchased metal detector. He was disappointed I hadn’t found the ring in the backyard, since he was sure it would be there.

I began searching the front yard, and Seth asked if he should dump the yard debris bin. We searched that with no luck.

The front yard was much cleaner than the back, so when the Manticore got a clean, repeatable signal, so I had high hopes. The lawn was pretty thick and green, so I needed the pinpointer  to locate the target. There it was! 😀 I snapped a pic, then began shutting down my gear. Seth had seen me from inside the house, and came out to thank me for trying. I told him it was pointless to keep searching for his ring. I then held it up for him, and his reaction was epic!

After a big high-five, he told me he was certain he would have never found the ring if it wasn’t for my help.

IPhone 16 Lost in the Ocean, Recovered and Returned North Myrtle Beach SC

This recovery started on Saturday night about 9 pm when I received the following text. “Hi! My girlfriend lost her phone during a walk on the sand bar during low tide about an hour ago between 16th and 13th street in North Myrtle. The tide started coming in, so we had to limit our search to 10 minutes. We’re wondering if you’d be able to help us look for it during low tide in the morning. We know approximately where it was dropped. I know tomorrow is Easter, but please let us know if you are available.” I called the number attached to the text and talked with Maria, who lost the phone. First, I wanted to confirm the location, as to whether it was a North or South Ave in North Myrtle Beach. I also wanted to get some more details. Maria told me that her and her boyfriend, Joe, were walking on the sand bars and at some point, the phone came out of her pocket. When she confirmed she lost the phone on the side south, I decided to take a ride and look at the parking situation. I ended up stopping by the condo they were at and got to meet them. I learned the last location she was able to get from the phone was between 14th and 15th Ave South. She also told me again about walking on the sand bars and at one point she was on her hands and knees trying to feel for the phone in the water.

Today, Easter Sunday, I was on the beach at 6 am working the water between the sand bar and the beach. I ran into Maria and Joe around 6:30 as I was searching. I had misunderstood Maria and thought she lost the phone between the sand bars and the beach. She had actually lost it going through inlets between sand bars. I also thought and told her, that I suspected the phone would be lying on the bottom. The sand was hard packed, and I didn’t think the phone would settle in the sand, was proved wrong on that assumption. So, Maria got me squared away on where she thought the phone might be. I started checking the inlets between the sand bars and on the 3rd inlet I hit a strong target. I dug 3 full scoops of sand before I got the target out of the hole.  I had to be careful that if this was the phone, I didn’t want to break it with the scoop. As I pulled out the 3rd scoop of sand, I saw the red and white checkered case hanging out about an inch from between the sand. Maria saw it about the same time and reached down and pulled it out from the sand scoop. She was so excited. I’ve heard the newer I Phones are waterproof, and I guess they are. This one had been in the ocean, buried in sand for almost 12 hours and it turned right on, and she was able to call Joe’s phone. Vacation, her pictures and Easter Sunday all saved!!

Ring lost at a San Diego park found.

Yanni was at a local park enjoying the day and the various amenities, including playground, grass, and pushing her child on the swings. Somehow, afterward, she discovered her wedding ring was missing from her finger. Since her husband also had once lost his ring and had it found by us, she knew who to call. I arrived a bit early and decided to hit the swings first since nobody was on them. I got about half way done when it seemed EVERYONE wanted to swing. I abandoned the search there and went over to the tot lot to check the playground area. Mostly rubber, but, there was some sand areas I was able to quickly eliminate. I then walked over some grass areas on the way back to the now vacant swings. I got just about done with the swings when I got THE signal. Sure enough, just a few inches down in the wood chips, I found a gold ring. You can see in the one photo how easy a gold ring can hide in wood chips. Yes, it’s there in the center on top! Not knowing what her ring looked like, since she hadn’t arrived yet to describe it or even show me the exact search area, I stored it and continued to detect until she arrived. A few minutes later, Yanni arrived. I asked her to describe the ring, but, instead, she showed me a photo. Bingo! I pulled out the ring and said « yup, that sure looks like the one » as I held it up to the picture. A relieved Yanni can now go about her day with a complete finger. A pleasure meeting you and thank you for the reward.
