Lost Gold Ring Found in Utica Michigan

  • from Detroit (Michigan, United States)

Down the Rabbit Hole…..

…… began with Joe’s new yard project. The gravel he ordered after he tore up some grass didn’t show up and throughout the day tools went missing and machinery malfunctioned. To escalate matters his wedding ring fell off his finger and he didn’t know where in the yard it was. I did a grid search with my MXT metal detector where he said he was working but nothing came up. Going out further from the house I got a good signal in the wet grass and as I moved around it my foot slipped into a slight dip in the ground almost twisting my ankle. Reaching into the dip in the ground my pin pointer metal detector went off. Parting the grass back revealed Joe’s ring! His back was turned to me but as I yelled to him, he came running over and said that he had filled the rabbit hole in a while ago after the bunny’s left and said it must have settled leaving a small divot. Super Happy to be Out of the Rabbit Hole, Joe took a nice long look at his ring realizing that even tho this journey down the rabbit hole was over, he now had a deeper understanding of what’s important and that the rabbit hole is only as deep as you make it!

Lost Gold & Diamonds Sentimental Ring at Magic island Beach…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This ring find began when I got a text at work asking if I could find a ring at the waters edge at Magic Island beach.  I called the number and AJ from the San Francisco area and on vacation on Oahu answered.  I told him I would leave work early and head over since it wasn’t in deep water.  In fact, it was supposed to be ankle deep.  As I was enroute I got a call from our fellow ring finder Kai saying he was on the freeway as AJ had called him too.  Kai was kind enough to give the hunt to me as I was near the access to Magic Island.  When I arrived I met AJ on the beach and he showed me where in the water the ring should be.  I hunted and expanded the grid search out in every direction.  No ring.  I had to leave for a PT session for my shoulder and told AJ I’d see about coming back or getting someone else.  My PT session went rather quickly so when I finished I went back to rehunt and expand the grid further.  I went out further and up the slope into the dry sand.  It paid off.  Up in the dry sand I got a booming #49 on the Manticore and on the second scoop there was AJ’s sentimental ring from his Father in the scoop.  I called AJ and he was at the Hilton Hawaiian Village pool next beach over so he decided to walk over and retrieve the special ring.  A few hugs and handshakes later AJ said his vacation was now saved.  Aloha to AJ!

Lost Rolex Watch in Whistler BC…Found!

Lost your Rolex Watch or any Jewelry/Cell Phone/Car Keys… Don’t wait until it’s too late. Call ASAP 24/7  Chris-778-838-3463

I get a call from a young man who told me he lost a very important watch, right away my thought was Rolex.  I was only partially right it was a Rolex but what made it so important was it was a gift from his late grandfather. He told me it was lost in the lake up to his chin in water. He said he knew exactly where it fell in so I felt I was in good shape to go out and hopefully find this but one doesn’t know until they get there and see the conditions.

When I arrive to the lake in Whistler, William showed me where the watch fell into the water. One thing for sure the water was very cold as this was a glacier fed lake and it was cold, but it was a nice day and I was up for the challenge. When I got into the water, the rocks were big and awkward making this a very difficult search because I wouldn’t be able to scoop up the watch, also the water had zero visibility so it would make it very difficult to dive down and find it.

I began my search, got up to my chin in water hanging onto the dock. I was able to stretch my detector out to deeper water and get a signal. Fortunately, there wasn’t many signals in this area so I was confident this was his Rolex watch. I spent four hours in that water, I also found a leech on my arm not to say it was very cold. I started cramping up near the end, but I wasn’t gonna give up easy.

We built a bit of a ramp for me with some bigger rocks, so I could stand there and get leverage to try to scoop the watch out of the area, but it was too difficult with the rocks. I then thought of getting a big stump sticking it in the water very close to where I was getting the signal and have William dive down with my Metal Detector pin pointer as I thought this would be the only chance he’d  have in retrieving his watch. He was all for it because earlier that day somebody came up and asked if you were looking for a Rolex… the word had gotten out and more people knew about his watch and that was frightening for him, as you could imagine.

William brave the water and within 15 minutes came up with the watch in his hand. He didn’t even know until I let out a scream!  I was so excited for him to get that beautiful watch back where it belonged. I love my job!

LOST A RING? CALL JOHN NOW! 215-850-0188

If you’ve ever spent a day on the beach in Cape May, NJ, you know how easy it is to lose track of small items in the soft sand. That’s exactly what happened to Courtney and her husband during a sunny afternoon by the ocean. While applying sunscreen, he slipped off his wedding band for just a moment. Unfortunately, the ring went into a pocket that had a small hole, and before they knew it, his wedding band had vanished into the sand.

After searching on their own with no success, Courtney reached out to me through Ring Finders South Jersey, hoping I could help. As a ring finder, I know how quickly jewelry can sink below the surface and how stressful it feels to lose something so sentimental.

I grabbed my equipment and headed straight to the Cape May beach where they had been sitting. Her husband carefully showed me the area where he thought the band might have fallen. I fired up my metal detector and started scanning the sand. Within minutes, I got a strong signal. A quick dig and there it was—his lost wedding band sitting just inches beneath the surface!

The relief and happiness on their faces was unforgettable. Finding a lost engagement ring or a wedding band and returning it to its owner is one of the best parts of what I do. Every recovery is special because I know how much these pieces mean to people.

If you ever find yourself in a similar situation—whether it’s a lost engagement ring in the dunes, a lost wedding band,  or any other piece of jewelry misplaced in the sand don’t panic. I cover Cape May, Wildwood, Stone Harbor, Avalon, Sea Isle City, Ocean City, and the entire South Jersey shore.

Lost Ring Recovered Minnesota Metal Detecting

  • from Twin Cities Metro (Minnesota, United States)

I received a call from Carrie, she was wondering if I was able to find a ring that was lost decades ago. I told her I could certainly give it a shot. I’ve found many lost valuables from the late 1800’s all the up to 2025. She said her Dad had lost a ring in the yard back in the 1970’s. I checked out the address. Carrie’s Mom & Dad had built this house in 1971 and I knew that anything I would find in the yard is certainly theirs. We set up a day & time for the search and I met up with Carrie’s mom, Judy. Judy told me that her husband had lost a ring while planting trees in the backyard when they first built the home. She showed me the area in question and I went to « work ». After finding a few coins, old nails/washers and a little trash, the whole backyard was cleaned out and free of any metal objects. I thought about Judy’s husband planting trees and what else could have caused his ring to come off. There is a double chain link gate leading to the backyard from the side yard. If he was carrying the trees, he’d have to set the trees down and open the gate for access. So, I started detecting the side yard and got a nice hit on my detector right away. About 3 inches down in the dirt shined a beautiful silver Trinity Knot ring. The Trinity Knot is a Celtic symbol meaning endless Love through the Father/Son/Holy Spirit.

Judy, it was truly a pleasure chatting and spending time with you. I’m so happy I found that ring and hope it brings you joyful memories of your late husband.

Carrie, thanks for contacting me and giving me another great ring find memory.

Take Care and God Bless!

Darrin

I was contacted by Jennifer after being tagged multiple times on a social media post. Jennifer explained that her husband had taken a surfing lesson on his birthday on Queen St beach in Cape May. During the lesson, his necklace broke and he lost his late daughters memoriam charms in the surf. I chatted back and forth with Jennifer and gathered some specific details. Took a ride over and checked at low tide this morning around 6:30am. After about an hour of searching the surf I was able to recover the charms and reunite them with Phil and Jennifer. Another happy couple!

I received a message from Ken the other day. He explained that his wife was sitting with their daughter just at the edge of the water on the beach in Wildwood Crest . The pair were chatting about his wife, Shelly’s, ring which she had just had repaired and had taken it off to show to her daughter. While doing so, a larger wave rushed in and startled the pair causing the ring to be flung behind them towards the upper beach as they were facing the water when it happened. The ring landed in the shallow water and disappeared. Shelly was devastated, and the family searched for hours trying to locate the ring. Luckily, Ken, Shelly’s husband, did an excellent job noting the approximate location and took note of the time as the tide was moving in. We discussed the event a bit and decided to wait until the tide was heading back out so the water would be at a reasonable depth. I met the couple on the beach at just about dark around 9pm and began searching. About 15 minutes later I heard the signal I was searching for, 1 scoop later the ring was back on Shelly’s finger. She was elated to say the least! The couple informed me that Ken had proposed to Shelly over 40 years prior just a few blocks down beach. Another relieved & happy couple!
Kens and Shelly’s review of service:
“Jeffrey came at dusk walked into the ocean and went to work finding my wife’s engagement ring. 10 min later he saved our vacation and I can’t thank him enough. Thank you!”

I was tagged by several folks in a post on Cape May Live. The poster was asking for people to keep an eye out for her husband’s gold ring that slipped off in the surf. I messaged the couple and we chatted back and forth about what exactly happened and where. She was able to outline the specific area and time of day that the loss occurred. Timing wise, I felt that the best chances would be during the low tide cycle the following morning. I took the 5 minute ride for home yesterday morning and began searching. After about 1 hour or so I got the signal I was searching for and out popped the ring from thigh deep surf. The couple confirmed the inscribed date and picked up the ring yesterday afternoon. They both thought the ring was “gone forever” after 27 years of marriage. Another happy couple!

“Jeff Laag is truly amazing! I don’t know how he did it, but he found my husband’s wedding band that was lost in knee deep water at the cape may beach. Don’t hesitate to look him up to find your lost jewelry!”

I got call about a very sentimental 24 Karat gold ring custom made in Bahrain. The ring ment the world to the owner. It was lost in the water and the exact location was not known. I gridded off the water 3 times in 2 hours with no luck. Fianally on the 4th grid we struck gold and a few smiles!
