Mens Palladium Ring Lost & Found Studland Beach

  • from Bournemouth (England, United Kingdom)
Contact:

Back in August Kevin from Poole visited Studland with his family to do a little SUP’ing. Trouble was he kept falling off and worst still, when he reached the shore realised his wedding ring had gone! He had covered a wide area and could tell for sure where he had lost it.

I visited the area on 3 occasions , at least two hours each time to no avail. My search area expanded on every visit. Probably on my eighth hour there, a long way from my original search area, the CTX gave a blaring tone of something big and up it came!

Kevin was elated to have it back and made a kind donation to the Margaret Green Animal Rescue. Because of the sensitive nature of Simons job we decided a personal picture would not be appropriate.

Gents ROLEX Watch Lost & Found in the sea in Southbourne.

  • from Bournemouth (England, United Kingdom)
Contact:

Simon from Bournemouth went for his usual swim in the sea in Southbourne & when tumbled by a large wave felt his Rolex fall from his wrist. You can imagine his desperation looking for it as the waves pounded him until finally he admitted defeat and left.

When I received the call I was optimistic even though the sands were soft there and we didn’t have a precise location. Another problem was the tides. They wasn’t due for another two weeks which also reduced the recovery odds. Simon was very eager to try & when we met the day of the search he was very disappointed we didn’t find it.

I decided to let him borrow all of my equipment- something I had done before in the past with people I felt I could trust. Full credit to him, out he went several times searching until early one morning a massive signal, one scoop.. and up it came! Simon was ecstatic to have recovered it and made a generous donation to the Margaret Green Animal Charity.

Gold Wedding Ring Lost & Found Boscombe Pier

  • from Bournemouth (England, United Kingdom)
Contact:

Back in August Rowlins and family enjoyed a day out from their home in London. Little did he know he was about to see his wedding ring slip from his finger into the sea near Boscombe Pier. He searched desperately for ages hoping to catch a glimpse but to no avail.

When I received his call the ring had already been missing a few days and with low tides not due another 3 weeks I was less than optimistic to say the least! Nevertheless, three weeks later, just around dawn I ventured to the area and began searching. Using the Whites PI Plus machine I listened for faint whispers knowing how deep in the soft sand it would have sunk. I found six rings that way including Rowlins wedding band- such a thrill to see your target laying in the bottom of your sand scoop!

I called Rowlins who pleased and shocked at our luck and sent him the ring by post. He thanked me later and made a generous donation to the Margaret Green Animal Charity.

Gold Ring Lost Body Surfing At Surf City Found And Returned

  • from Emerald Isle (North Carolina, United States)

Jack sent me a text message early Saturday morning asking if I could help find his lost ring.  Jack explained to me he was body surfing Wednesday afternoon when the ring slid off of his finger.  He felt the tide was High during that time and the ring would be found in the wet sand.  Upon arrival, Jack led me to the beach and pointed out the boundaries he believed the ring was within and the search began parallel to the water from high to low.  After a few passes, only 1 dime was found.  I eventually made it to where the surf was rolling in over the beach.  This isn’t much of a problem, it just slows the search process.  Finally, I received a strong signal on my metal detector and my deep & wide scoop went to work and pulled out a large amount of sand containing Jack’s ring.  Jack was working on the other side of the home and didn’t understand why I returned so soon.  He and his family couldn’t believe his ring was found so quickly.

Yellow Gold Bracelet with Charms Lost in the Ocean, Found and Returned Myrtle Beach SC

  • from North Myrtle Beach (South Carolina, United States)

I received an early morning text message from Mary saying “I need help finding lost jewelry.” I tried calling her but didn’t receive an answer. So, I texted her saying “How can I help? Call me, it’s faster than texting. 843-655-5889. Jim” Mary called a short time later and said she had lost a gold bracelet with charms. She sent me a picture of the bracelet and where on the beach she lost it. Unfortunately, the resort her and her husband, Omar, were staying was in Myrtle Beach. She also stated they were getting ready to leave to go back home. I told her Myrtle Beach was TRF Matt Fry’s area and I’d give him a call and coordinate with him and that one of us would call her back. I called Matt on his cell, his work number and his wife’s phone and got no response. I called Mary back and told her I was on my way. Meanwhile I sent her a Google earth map with the resort and a line down the middle of the beach dividing north and south and asked her A or B side. She responded A, so I was on my way.

When I got there, I surprisingly found a parking spot and hit the beach. I started a perpendicular grid search on the north side of area A and worked south. Almost 2 hours into the search and shin deep in the ocean, I got a solid 6 on the Equinox 800. I wasn’t real sure what numbers I was looking for on the 800. I knew the thin gold bracelet wouldn’t show up, so I was hoping the small charms would ring up. I was as careful as possible trying to dig the target out of the sand. My second scoop I saw the bracelet hanging out of the packed sand in the scoop. I took a picture and sent it to Mary saying “BA BOOM,” then I called her. She was just pulling my text up and seemed very happy, and that’s when she shared that her mother had given her the bracelet. They were heading out of town but weren’t far enough that we couldn’t meet half way. When we met, Mary was extremely happy when I handed her bracelet back to her. Mary didn’t want her picture taken so I had Omar take a picture of me holding the bracelet.

Mary – thank you for trusting me to find your sentimental treasure.

Jim

Lost and found diamond engagement ring Cobourg beach Ontario

  • from Cobourg (Ontario, Canada)

Received a text from Kaitlin and Zach yesterday about having lost her diamond engagement ring at Cobourg beach this past Friday. After they were walking and enjoying the beach with their young child, she noticed that her ring was missing when they went back to their vehicle.  Zach even went and purchased a metal detector and detected the whole beach with no success. As it got dark, they finally had to stop looking and head back home, which is quite far from Cobourg. Luckily, she found me online. After getting as much information as possible, including a couple of Google earth pictures, I headed out to the beach. The major issue was that she could not pin point exactly where or when she lost the ring. Long story short, three hours into my gridding search, I found her beautiful ring. Ironically, it was found where Zach had already been over with his detector. In his defence, the quality of the detector he was using plus expertise in knowing what to listen for, and how to search an area, is not something that can be learned over night. It was a great pleasure to meet them and reunite them with her ring today. A very happy ending!

Three Lost Gold Wedding Rings in Orchard Prairie Spokane WA ….FOUND!!!

  • from Spokane (Washington, United States)

Last week,Sue was sitting on her porch step talking to to her landscaper during the fading hours of daylight. As Sue was talking she noticed  the diamond on her wedding rings was flipped downward. She quickly flicked the rings with her thumb to adjust their position. As her thumb snapped forward her three rings went flying. Quickly exclaiming « I lost my rings » to the landscaper, the daylight faded to black. A search for the rings that night was useless. The next morning a search began and ended with no luck. So Sue reached out to her community.  The neighbors, her church, and the little four year old boy across the street were all praying for the ring to be found. The Minister from Sue’s church even came over to look. He saw an over grown bush right beside where Sue sat. Thinking the ring might be in there, he asked when she last cleaned out the leaves in the planter box? Little did he know that when he began to tend to the over grown mess he would remove the rings from its hiding place.  As he worked with his hands cutting and cleaning up the leaves and twigs he had picked up Sue’s rings. Now from there the minister took the five gallon bucket of trimmings and walked to the backyard . He placed the bucket under a covered carport and then left. So for a week that bucket sat there untouched. Sue was devastated and distraught.  She saw the rings come off and disappear.  How could she not see the rings in the grass she thought. Sue had the landscaper cut the grass really short and then used a shopvac to try and pull the rings from where she thought they were hidden in the grass. Now completely stumped Sue turned to the internet. Her daughter told her to buy a metal detector so Sue typed in ring metal detectors . Instead of finding a metal detector to buy she found The Ring Finders. I hadn’t begun my days work yet when Sue called me. We talked and I told her I would be right over. I heard Sue’s story and began my search. The whole front yard, the planter boxes, under the porch, in the juniper bushes and down the front walk was where I searched with no ring found. I knew the minister had cleaned up a bush, so I asked where he put the clippings. So Sue and I headed to the  backyard to the five gallon bucket. I thought for sure I would see her ring in that bucket. However I didn’t see her ring when I searched, not even in a trailer where more clippings had been tossed. Now I knew that a bagged lawn mower had been used on her lawn so as I walked  past Sue talking to her about the landscaper my eyes saw a small shape in the gravel. So I asked Sue what is that? And then again I asked what is that Sue? I circled the rings and then started jumping up and down as I saw the diamond. Sue’s rings had been found. Whether it fell out of the bottom of the bucket or an act of God placed the rings in the gravel. The rings were found. We hugged a bunch, celebrating all the answered prayers and Sue thanked God and me for finding the rings. See, the three rings Sue had lost were on her hand for 58 years. When her husband Gaylon passed away 10 years ago his ring was placed behind hers and soldered together.  So finding those three rings brought back the memories of her late husband and the feeling of their love for one another.

Lost Gold Ring Found in Ogden, Utah

Last night after putting my kids to bed, I saw a text from Brad explaining that his wife was doing some work in the yard and lost her ring. I quickly gave Brad a call and after he explained what happened, decided to make the 1 hour drive up to Ogden to help. I arrived around 9:40pm, set up my grid and within two passes, found the missing gold ring. Carol Ann was so happy and shocked that I found it so quickly. Apparently, they had been searching for a few hours. One thing I love about returning lost items is getting to know the people that call me. Brad and Carol Ann have been together for over 40 years and it was a pleasure working with them to find her lost ring!
