Metal Detecting Minnesota Ring Recovery Lost ring Found.

Keith, his family and friends were out for a pontoon ride on a local lake in Minnesota. They decide to stop at an island that boasted a sandy and shallow water swim/play area. He was in the water about waist deep playing football with the kids and playing with the pup. They finished up and boarded the pontoon when he noticed his wedding band was missing from his finger. They got back in the water and searched to no avail. Fast forward a day a two and Keith’s buddy Jeff was searching the internet on ways to find the ring, when he came across the « theringfinders » website. Jeff told Keith about the website, and he called me right away. We discussed the best way to go about the search and decided scuba diving, « though it was pretty shallow water » would be the best chance of recovery. We decided to do a grid search using a 20-foot rope that Keith and Jeff held across the water, and I scuba/searched under the rope. As I finished one spot, they would move 6 feet and we kept this up for an hour or so until I got that awesome tone of Gold on my metal detector. Congrats on getting your ring back!!! Glad I could help out; it was nice meeting both of you. Thanks for the help on the grid search, it worked out perfectly.

Lost Engagement Ring Found in the Woods! Glastonbury, CT

A lost engagement ring was found in the woods in Glastonbury, Connecticut. It happens; rings get tossed out into the yard. Only this time, the lost engagement ring was thrown into thick woods and underbrush. A landscaper cleared the area and used a metal detector to try and locate the lost ring. after realizing this was a job for a professional, this family my website and brought me to find their lost ring. My wife Allie and I eventually found the ring after hours of searching. The lost ring was slightly covered by dirt (this must have been from the previous people searching and clearing).

Lost ring recovered Minnesota ring find metal detecting

While driving around with her husband, Caitie decided to put some lotion on her hands. She removed her ring and applied the lotion, while trying to put the ring back on, it slipped and disappeared into the car. She searched everywhere and couldn’t find it. She started a google search for help finding her ring and came across « theringfinders » website. She contacted me and I told her this is a little different situation as we can’t use metal detectors in cars. I do however have special lights and mirrors I use to look into crevasses hidden to the eyes. We agreed on a date, time and location to meet, so I could give it a shot. I searched the passenger seat from the front and from the back and I wasn’t coming up with anything but coins. I went back to the front of the passengers seat and saw an old Covid mask bunched up and hidden under the carpet. As I removed the mask, I saw the beautiful glitter of gold – there it was!!!!

Lost ring throwing football, Orange Beach – FOUND!

The other day I got a late message from Randi asking for help over in Orange Beach. Her husband Brayden was throwing a ball out in the Gulf and when the ball hit his left hand he watched as his wedding band dropped into the Gulf. They enlisted the help of some friends to look for an hour but didn’t have any success. When I spoke to Randi on the phone I told her that was my specialty and I’d be glad to help. That afternoon I drove over to Orange Beach and realized that it was at Romar House. They are wonderful people there and sure enough when I went inside they remembered me helping some other guests and immediately gave me a temporary parking pass. When I came back out I met Brayden and he quickly filled me in and explained that he had only been married since October. I told him that we had to find his ring and it was so new it was still shiny. 😃 When we got to the beach, Randi and several of their friends were lined up in their chairs ready to watch “the show”. I waded out with Brayden and one of his buddies waved us a bit more East. I took about 4 more steps to the East and then based on the tide charts, I took three more steps to the South and yelled over to Brayden not to move so I had a reference point. I literally went about 5 feet and heard a great tone. I got it on the first scoop and yelled over to Brayden, “It’s that easy” with a big smile. I didn’t realize that Randi was videoing but it definitely shows the excitement better than I can explain it. Thanks Brayden and Randi for trusting me. Now you have an awesome story for the rest of your long and happy marriage.

Lost gold wedding band recovered from Thompson Lake in Oxford, ME

I received a call from Karen after her husband Scott had lost his wedding band in 10 feet of water while swimming laps between the dock and swim float in front of their camp on Thompson Lake in Oxford, ME. Scott had immediately realized he lost his ring and marked the location with a large rock. Using his marker I utilized a spiral search pattern and was able to recover the ring buried in several inches of silt within about 10 minutes of commencing the hunt. The couple will celebrate 27 years of marriage in a few weeks and Scott’s ring is safely back on his finger for that special day and many more to follow.

Lost Wedding Band Recovered & Returned at White Lake NC

On Saturday 8/26/2023 I was out swimming and diving with my metal detector at the lake when I met a nice family who saw me metal detecting in the water. They explained that a couple weeks earlier that their son had lost a ring on the other side of the lake in the water behind a private rental they had been staying at. I offered my help in recovering the ring and that I was a member of the ring finders group online and that we always love helping people. I also explained my front plate had my number and theringfinders information on my truck in the parking lot.  We parted ways and I continued metal detecting some and when I was heading back to the truck I met her again and showed her to my truck. She took a photo of my info on my plate and we spoke a few minutes more.

The next day I received a call from her son who explained everything and sent me photos of where he was in the water. I agreed to do the search and I called the property Manager to obtain permission to be there. Permission was granted and I went down the very next morning 8/28/2023 to look for the ring. I was in the water about two hours when I found his ring. I sent him photos to confirm I found it and called him. The next day on Tuesday 8/29/2023 we met and the ring was returned. I was happy I could help and he was extremely happy about getting it back.  It’s always a pleasure helping people.

Lost wedding ring in the sand, Lavallette NJ OB3, recovered by Edward Trapper NJ Ring Finder

I received a call from Carol, asking if I would be able to find her sons wedding ring. We went over some of the pertinent details, and I told her I would be happy to help. The ring was in a safe location on the beach, otherwise I would have stopped what I was doing and head right to their location.  Taking that into consideration, and the fact they were staying at the beach for the day, we agreed to meet a bit later in the day. When I arrived , she showed me the general area, and just a few moments later the ring was in my scoop. The beach was packed, and the audience was amazed at how quickly the ring was found. Phil had walked back to the house, we ran into each other on the dune walkover, talked a bit, and continued on. Phil, again, thank you for your service.

Lost and found gold wedding band at Oak Lake in Ontario

My travels today took me to beautiful Oak lake near Havelock Ontario. Received a text from Sabrina and Carm about having lost a gold wedding band at the end of a dock, in the water. As Carm was standing in the water at the end of the dock, he removed his gold wedding band to secure it onto his chain because it was loose on his finger. Unfortunately, as he did so, the ring fell in the water. After an hour’s search, while using my hooka system and underwater metal detector, the ring was found. Another great happy ending for the newlyweds and a beautiful day to be in the water.

Lost Rings in the Gulf, Orange Beach- FOUND!!!

I owe Matt and Elise an apology for taking so long to post their story but I wanted to make sure that I did them in the right order because Elise’s rings ended up being the 99th and 100th official return since I started doing this. I love thinking back on all of the people I have been able to help. Matt and Elise are the perfect ones for lucky #100 because not only do they have a great story but they are wonderful people!  They have been married for 15 years and were down in Orange Beach with some friends and their family for some well deserved vacation. Elise had gone out in the Gulf with her youngest son William to throw the football when all of a sudden both of Elise’s rings came flying off with the ball. This was the first day of their vacation and it had taken an immediate turn for the worse. Elise noted where she was and came up to the beach and she and Matt immediately began looking online for someone who could help. Luckily, Matt called me and I was eager to help. I made the hour drive and brought my wife Jeannie. She has been my lucky charm and I thought it only right that she be there for the potential 100th return. When we got there Matt and Elise pointed out where they were and I quickly realized that the knee deep water was out where the sand bar drops back off into the Gulf. Nevertheless, I set a bearing on a distant condo and began my grid search. Meanwhile Jeannie talked to Matt and Elise and tried to calm their fears. She learned that they had a true love story. Matt is a farmer and back years ago he saved his money and went and bought these rings for Elise and got down on one knee. Now it had been so long that Matt didn’t even remember what the rings were made out of. I think that is a perfect example of the kind of irreplaceable things I get to find. It doesn’t matter what they are made out of or the monetary value. It’s the memories and the sentiment that make them absolutely invaluable. Meanwhile, back in the Gulf, I had my machine turned wide open so I could hear everything and I was on a mission. An hour later though, I only had one dime to show for it and everyone was getting worried. A man waded out to talk to me and explained that he was going to try and find it with his feet. I tried to be nice and explain that he was kind of hurting the situation and not helping but he was not to be deterred so I went around him. After expanding the area a bit I had Elise go over again where she thought it might be. I told her that there was no way it had rolled up the bar but if she had flung it far enough it might be a little shallower. The man had finally left after a fruitless search so I started there and proceeded to work shallower. Finally, out of nowhere, I hear the screaming sound of gold in my ears. In a millisecond, I knew that not only were these the rings, but they were together, right on top and they were almost certainly gold. I very gently scooped down deep to make sure I didn’t scratch one and pulled out both rings in one scoop, together like they were meant to be. Y’all, I can’t even explain the excitement and the disbelief and happiness that proceeded to radiate from that beach when I walked out. I hope the next 100 are every bit as meaningful!  By the way, the rings are 18k and diamonds, just as awesome as the people they belong to. Congratulations Matt and Elise and thank you for trusting me with your memories.

Lost and found gold diamond wedding band in Cobourg Ontario

Received a text from Amir yesterday about his wife having lost her diamond wedding band while at the beach in Cobourg Ontario. She had taken her ring off to apply sun tan lotion and placed it on their beach blanket. Seeing friends down the beach, they quickly picked up their belongings and relocated. A short while later, she realized that her ring was gone. They all tried to find the ring in the sand but were not successful. Normally, this would be a quick and fairly easy recovery. However, Amir did not find my information/services until a week had gone by since she’d lost her ring. My biggest fear was that there are a lot of metal detectorists that searches this beach every single day and the ring might of been picked up. Still, we had to try. After exchanging information and details via Google Earth, I headed out last evening to find it. Although the beach was still fairly busy with people and after careful gridding for two and a half hour, I was able to locate her ring. Thank god it was still there. Amir has requested not to have their picture posted due to privacy.  Beautiful evening, did not have to get wet Scuba diving and another happy ending. Life is good.
