Lost Platinum Wedding Ring while Fishing at Long Beach, CA.

Steven was fishing in the surf at Long Beach, CA. His hand got hung up in his fishing line and his ring came off his finger flying into the dry sand. After two hours of searching the sand with his hands, he did a google search for metal detector service. That was how he found my contact information.

When I talked to Steven I was sure that the ring could be found if he could meet me at the location. He was concerned that the tide was rising and it would soon be under water. I assured him that would not be a problem as I would be there within an hour. Even if it was in the water we still can find it. The most important factor is that he can be there to put me in the general location. Sometimes people leave the area and can’t get back to the location, especially on the beach.

When I walked out to meet Steven, he was a little frustrated as he and his friend had been sifting through the sand with their hands for a couple hours. He showed me what had happened when he felt his ring fly off his finger.

I set up my metal detector, beginning a short 15 ft. grid pattern. I got a nice signal on my third pass which turned out to be Steven’s platinum wedding band. He was ecstatic and surprised that it was more than 10 ft. from where he thought it would be. As usual he couldn’t believe how fast it was found. It has a lot to do with timing, also having the right tool (metal detector) for the right job.

I love being able to help people find things that are so important to them. .. I WILL TRY ANYWHERE

Lost Cell Phone… Found in Iowa City, Iowa

Contact:

We’ve been getting some snow here almost every day for a week and people are starting to lose things in it. I received a call from Zac about his lost cell phone. His friend Amy posted on her face book page about me finding her keys and so he thought he would give me a try to help find his phone.

We met on Jan. 25th in the afternoon at the park where he lost it. He had been sledding and playing in the snow when it was lost. He said he did an online search and the phone showed up in the park until the battery died.

We walked out in the snow to an area he thought we should start at. The second signal was his phone buried in the snow. He was very happy to have his phone back.

Lost Keys… Found in Iowa City, Iowa

Contact:

A woman named Amy contacted me about her lost keys. They were lost in her alley area after she helped a neighbor get his car unstuck from the snow. She thought they may have fallen out of her coat pocket when they were shoveling snow or pushing the car.

I arranged to meet her on Jan. 25th in the morning. When I arrived she showed me the area where she thought they could be. I started the search on one corner of the area and almost immediately got a decent signal.

After moving five inches of snow there they were! Thanks Amy for posting on your face book page because I was able to help a friend of yours recover his cell phone that same day.

KELOWNA RING LOST IN THE SNOW.

  • from Kelowna (British Columbia, Canada)

Chris was out back of his condo walking his Australian Terrier in the snow, going back inside he realized he had lost his wedding ring. He found me on The Ringfinders website and gave me a call. I responded at 8am the next morning, Chris suspected that it came off while he was shaking the snow off a tree, we went back and searched under the tree, then started a circle around the tree. Within 10 minutes we had the ring and Chris was happy. A quick response and a good suspect location paid off.

While visiting at my family’s home of 50 years for my mom’s 89th birthday party, my niece, Emma (age 9) and I decided to metal detect the front yard to see what we could recover from our family’s past. 30 minutes of detecting and a few dug up pop tops, and bottle caps, we recovered this cute silver ring. Of course it fit Emma perfectly! I am not sure when or who in our family, lost the ring. I do know Emma is very happy we recovered the ring for her!

Lost Diamond and Platinum earring recovered in West River, Maryland!

  • from Baltimore (Maryland, United States)
Contact:

I received a call on 1/21/19 for Holly stating she had lost one of her Platinum stud diamond earrings. Knowing there  isn’t a lot of « metal » to work with with studs, I was reluctant to have any hopes of recovering such a small item which is mainly composed of a non metal gem. Holly explained the circumstances in which she lost it and was 100% positive it was in a relatively small sandy area in her horse barn. We made plans to meet at the barn later that day. Once we met, Holly directed me to the barn and gave great detail in where she believed she was when she felt the earring come off. On the technical side of things, it was a challenging item to find being so small. Holly let me use its mate to « dial in » the sensitivity and other settings of my machine. Once I was able to hear the specific tone the item gave me, I got to work. Shortly thereafter…….

Here is the text from an email Holly sent me shortly after I left her with the lost earring in hand….

JUST CAN’T THANK YOU ENOUGH FOR FINDING MY EARRING!  I WAS VERY UPSET LOSING IT AS IT WAS A SPECIAL ANNIVERSARY PRESENT FROM MY WONDERFUL HUSBAND.  I WILL DEFINITELY RECOMMEND YOU TO ALL OF OUR FRIENDS! HOLLY AND TODD

It makes finding a lost item extra special when I get emails like that! Glad I could be of service Holly!

Lost Gold Heirloom Ring at Aulani Resort Ko Olina…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

i
This ring find began while I was returning from an iPhone hunt in the Aulani Lagoon. A tourist lady mentioned to me while I was returning to shore that a young girl had lost her heirloom ring in shallow water the day before right near the area I was in the water. I told her I would hunt for the ring after I got out of my scuba gear and would let Aulani Security know if I found it. I returned a short time later with my Equinox and started a grid search. When I was on about the third leg a young lady met me on the shoreline and asked if I could hunt for her ring. Her name was Anna and she was on vacation from Cleveland, Ohio celebrating her parents 25th Anniversary at the resort. I told her the encounter I had with the lady in the water and at that moment she appeared. That’s her there. We all had a good laugh then I resumed the search. On about the ninth leg I got a decent tone and in one scoop there was Anna’s stunning ring. I looked ashore and nodded to Anna that I found it and she was overcome with joy. She came out into the water and gave me a big hug and was so thankful. I found out later that the ring was passed down to her from her Grandfather and was very sentimental and the thought of losing it was tearing at her heart. Anna can now enjoy her Hawaiian vacation. Aloha to Anna!

Lost Man’s Gold Wedding Ring in Columbus, OH. “FOUND”

I received an email about a lost man’s gold wedding ring lost in the snow. We just received about 4 inches of the snow the night before. The ring was lost while removing the snow from the car and shoveling. The ring was somewhere in two snow plies around the cars in the driveway. I was able to come and perform the search the same day. I flatten down the first pile with no luck, then the second pile I got a good beep. Pen pointing closer to the hard snow ball and there was the ring inside. They were very happy to have the ring returned to them. I continued with a prayer and a blessing over this couple.

Lost Keys Found In The Snow In Grosse Pointe Woods Michigan

  • from Detroit (Michigan, United States)

Safe And Secure…..Again!

This pictured gentleman’s keys fell out of his pocket while operating a snow blower to clear the 6″ to 7″ snow that dropped in on the metro Detroit area Saturday afternoon. After a few passes in the backyard driveway he heard what he thought were sticks or something banging thru the machine. It wasn’t until he finished when he reached for his keys and they were gone. Now he was stranded and locked out as his wife was out of town. Before I got to the site today he managed to find the square portion of the car set on top of the snow in the neighbors yard. When I arrived I learned that there was a black vehicle key and his house keys still missing. Searching the drive area where he first heard the sounds in the machine my MXT said overload! and reaching down under the thin layer of snow produced the house keys and badly bent metal ring! Moving next in the trajectory where the square piece was on the snow took us into the yard next door. I knew from past searches for this type of key it produces a foil signal and a negative number on the meter depending on the key’s orientation. As my bigfoot coil sliced thru the sparkly layers of snow I got a foil/negative read about 4″ deep, cutting a deeper slice I pinpointed the key tipped slightly vertical in the snow and reaching into the snow produced the black car key! He said he was just about ready to jump up and down to warm up and as I held it up I said well this is a good reason too!
He was so thrilled that the keys were found, bringing that great feeling back to him that he and his family will be safe and secure again!
