Metal detecting excitement in Allentown, Reading and Central Pennsylvania

  • from Reading (Pennsylvania, United States)

After a long winter season, I am excited to get back to metal detecting. While doing some research this winter, I came across the RingFinders.com website. After reviewing the service, I immediately knew I had to join. Because I thoroughly enjoy making people happy and I have been metal detecting for years, I knew this would be a perfect fit for me.

It began last summer when I was asked to find a friends wedding ring after loosing it in a field when he was going down a water slide. After about twenty minutes of searching with my ATPro,  I got a great hit and found his ring. It was so exciting to see his expression that it just made my day. I am now working on finding another ring that was lost last summer.

As a retired Air Force veteran, I am available almost anytime to travel and find your lost treasures. A potion of any monetary rewards that I receive will be donated to my church or the Crohns & Colitis Foundation. I look forward to the opportunity of reuniting people to their lost treasure in Central and Eastern Pennsylvania and beyond.

Lost White Gold Diamond Ring in Blaine Tennessee…Found

  • from Chattanooga (Tennessee, United States)

This drive was a 2 hour and 15 minute drive from home to the location.  Here is her testimonial.

Testimonial:

On Wednesday evening Feb 7th, 2018, I was feeding 3 of the horses in barn, I threw some hay in stall for them, watered them and then went in house. Next morning I had realized I was not wearing my wedding set!!! This was a new wedding set my husband had saved money to buy me for our 25th Anniversary just 10 months ago. I went to barn and one of the girls had already cleaned out all the stalls and threw the manure in field where it had been trampled over by least 4 other horses and had been raining for 4 days straight, it looked hopeless to say the least. I spent all that day in rain knee deep in manure and mud with small detector hunting for ring, the horses had been moved from barn to horse arena, so now it could been stepped on and in arena maybe, I spent next day for 7 hours in arena and nothing, I went back to barn opened stall doors and under door was the diamond wedding band but No solitaire diamond .

I found Ed Hart on line through www.theRingFinders.com and he is about two hours away, he gladly said he would be up next day. Saturday morning feb 11th 2018 Ed was right on time. He started in each stall and some of the manure in barn a hour into searching the rain started pouring again, he put on rain gear and we started outside the barn where girls had thrown manure from that Thursday, when stepping into the field area your boots would get stuck instantly was about 8 inch deep from all rain and mud. I had a area marked for him to search and he hit on something and started to dig then another hit, my husband started digging for him because mud was so bad you would get stuck in it, all the sudden where the hit was and my husband said I GOT IT! I gave ED great big hug, it would have never been found without Ed Hart and www.theRingFinders.com .  Thank You again ED you are the best!

LOST RING OVER THE HOLIDAYS RECOVERED

Karen and her family were travelling from Vancouver to Vernon in the Okanagan for Christmas with friends, they stopped at the Merritt Tourist Booth on the way. Playing in the snow with the kids Karen lost her custom woven ring. Once in Vernon she found my site on The Ringfinders and we arranged to meet at the loss site on her way home. The Tourist Booth was 110 Kilometeres from my home over a mountain pass,( The Highway from Hell) fortunately the snow was not too bad, my plan was to grid the area of the snowball throw, then the parking lot. During my grid search, Karen was kicking the snow from the throw area and out popped the ring, a successful team effort. Karen was delighted to have the sentimental ring back on her finger.

Business Trip to Hawaii Before Christmas, LOST WEDDING RING, SAVED by the TONE! GOTT’UM

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

On November 28th 2017 Steve just flew into Hawaii on a business trip. While here on island he decided to head to the beach and take a swim. He noticed a few kids playing football in the water and decided to join them. After some time playing he looked down and realized, NO WEDDING RING. It fell off and he started to look everywhere. The kids that were playing also stopped and put on their swimming goggles to help find his platinum wedding ring. After hours of looking they came up short. Steve was contemplating as to how he would  tell his wife that while on a business trip in Hawaii « I lost my wedding ring »!  Well, thanks to a friend of mine on the beach who noticed the commotion, he went over to Steve and asked if everything is ok.  Steve said « NO, I LOST MY WEDDING RING AND DON’T KNOW WHERE IT IS IN THE WATER ». That’s when I got the phone call. I was able to confirm with Steve that I would help him find his wedding ring and would be there in 30 minutes. I packed up the gear and my family as we were on our way to pick up our Christmas tree that evening. I arrived to the beach and noticed Steve walking waist deep in the ocean and still frantically looking. As I got closer, he looked up to me and yelled « KAI »? I responded  » I’m Ready » and started to gear up as my wife and son played on the beach. It was later in the evening and the sun was setting. After 40 minutes I finally GOT THAT TONE! I looked up to Steve who’s eye was full of depression and a lost of hope and he says « Whats this in the scoop? » At that time I heard a loud « HE FOUND IT »! I got the biggest hugs of ALOHA. In the scoop was Steve’s Platinum wedding ring. My Family and I were excited to see his joy and gratitude all over his face. Steve was very grateful that he thanked me so many times and I had to return with IT’S MY PLEASURE… Thank you Steve for believing in me and we both will have a very Merry Christmas.

Troll Angry! Lost Gold Wedding Ring Found in Fremont… Seattle, Washington on Christmas!

  • from Seattle (Washington, United States)

This Christmas, under a bridge,  I battled a giant troll for a gold ring! When he was distracted by tourists taking selfies, I snatched a lost heirloom from under his gaze and returned it to its rightful owner!

A woman lost her mother’s wedding ring, inscribed with her father’s name, while throwing snowballs at the troll on Xmas eve. She was just visiting this state for the holiday, so it was crucial she find it before her flight out of Seattle. After renting a metal detector, searching and not having any luck, her friend found my name on Google. She called me Christmas morning and I was on the case in a couple hours.

Luckily after around half an hour of searching, I hit the target! Buried in the snow was her ring! I was super happy to help and I got out of there quick before the troll knew what had happened…

Happy reunion!

Josh was out in his yard throwing snowballs with his son, when he noticed his custom made wedding ring was missing. He could have waited until the snow melted, but his home is on the Real Estate market, so he went and rented a metal detector hoping to find it, with no success he looked on line and found my site on The Ringfinders. I told him I would be there the next morning, it was -12 and cold on the hands, but within 10 minutes he had the ring back on his finger. Another Merry Christmas.

Men’s Wedding Band Missing for 4 Years in the Barn Hay~Caledon, ON

  • from Brampton (Ontario, Canada)

So Farmer Jim & Karen McA knew I was a metal Detectorist and happen to mention that Jim’s Nephew Warren K of Orangeville was working bailing hay in the McArther Farm and lost his beloved wedding band. I was totally down for detecting in an old barn….like finding a freakin’ needle in a haystack full of century old iron nails and other goodies….

WOWZA, what a challenge for my Ring Find #2. Middle of December I went out on 2 occasions and at the 3rd occasions I decided to call Warren to get the deeds from the hay bailer himself. I decided to proceeded up a rickety wood ladder to get up where the hay was drying up top. No one was around until Uncle Jim showed up with a ‘specialty’ tea (hint hint). I called down « give me a few minutes ». Soon after I said that my detector went off BEEP BEEP BEEP…in the 12-13 range….and I was praying that this was it!! Oh boy was I praying to the Detecting Gods!!

I decided to get the iPhone video rolling ….just in case! And WHAM…there was Warren’s 14k platinum wedding band that had been missing for 4 YEARS!!! Uncle Jim couldn’t believe it…he thought I was joking!! I handed down my detecting and down the crazy ladder and showed him the ring. He was so shocked that after 4 years it had been found. I then said….lets surprise him. Here’s the video https://youtu.be/_-ou5RfVg2Y

Aunt Karen & I came up with a crazy idea to wrap the ring in hay….but inside 4 other gifts wrapped inside each other with a note for each opening. So the gift was dropped off at Warren’s Mom Debbie’s home. Karen told her that someone dropped it off at her house to give to Warren and a video was to be taken when he opened the gift at Christmas. Well Christmas came and went without Mom & Son connecting …..

Finally a message was sent in January to get his butt over to his Mom’s home and open a gift (LOL). Sure enough, Warren opened each and every gift till the last won! To his surprise and everyone else’s watching his beloved wedding ring was back home. Apparently he didn’t tell any of the Family that he lost his ring at the farm over 4 years ago….OPSEY!!!

What an awesome but very difficult ring find. Very proud to be given the opportunity in this crazy ‘needle in a haystack’ condition. BUT I TOTALLY LOVED IT!!!

(PS. Thank Goodness for Jim’s specialty tea to warm up a cold lass on this adventure *wink)

Sapphire & Diamonds 18k White Gold Wedding Ring Found Near Coal Creek… Bellevue, WA!!!

Diamonds and sapphires in white gold!

I got a call from Randy who lost his ring sometime last month while driving to a jobsite. Apparently he had removed his ring and put it into a cup (with some liquid) in his console. Sometime later, he forgot it was in there and he tossed the contents out the window as he was driving around the bend to one of his worksites!!!

Luckily Randy remembered seeing a Ringfinders Facebook post that featured my previous find and looked me up! He remembered the turn on the road and gave me a general area to look for his ring.

I searched the side of the road for some time… After gridding the area he pointed out, I extended my search area. He was close in proximity but it was a bit further than he remembered. I found it! A beautiful white gold ring with some really cool sapphires and diamonds!

Found in Crawlspace of Seattle, WA! Lost Gold & Diamond Engagement Ring!

  • from Seattle (Washington, United States)

This afternoon I received an email from a Hawthorne Hills couple who had lost a ring over the weekend. While fidgeting with one of her rings on the back deck, the ring slipped out of her hand and they heard it hit the deck and roll! The deck was on a steep incline with lots of landscaped features and shrubbery around it, all very viable and hard to find places it could have landed. They searched for a while before realizing what they needed was a metal detector… or even better, a Ringfinder!

After a phone conversation where I got the details I needed to plan my attack, I gathered up my gear. I made it there soon thereafter and started to hunt the landscaped hillside. After striking out around the perimeter, the grim possibility that it slipped through the cracks of the deck was growing. The heat was stifling, and my summer attire of flipflops and shorts was not the best choice of armor to battle man-eating spiders and other scary things (alive or dead) in the cramped dark area under the deck! But once I had exhausted the other possibilities, it was time…for THE CRAWLSPACE!

Needless to say, it was cramped under there. I had to belly crawl around and I methodically swept the area with my detector. Turning around was nearly impossible, and I was hoping to end this hunt quick! Luckily, after some time, SUCCESS! The ring was found and I quickly escaped the creepycrawlers! After celebrating with the owners, I hastily drove home for a « Silkwood shower »!

Lost Gold Nugget & Diamond Wedding Ring found in Tolt River, Carnation Washington!

  • from Seattle (Washington, United States)

Distraught Paul looks on as I hunt deeper…

« Difficult ring search in swift current of Tolt River leads to family heirloom reunited with its owner! »

Yesterday night I got a text from newlyweds Trisha & Paul regarding Paul’s lost wedding ring. They had been spending the day floating around in Tolt River, very close to where it merges with the Snoqualmie River in Carnation, WA.

At some point, Pauls’s new (to him) wedding ring slipped off in the strong current in chest high waters. The ring was his father’s and was a one of a kind gold nugget & 14k band with a diamond! Needless to say, they were distraught and searched until they were exhausted. Thankfully, they somehow found me online, texted me and we set up a meeting for Sunday morning.

I arrived, geared up in my fishing waders and chose one of my waterproof detectors for the hunt. We hiked from the parking lot for about 10 minutes, crossing the winding river in at least 2 locations. Hiking isn’t easy in waders! Once we arrived in the area, I began detecting the perimeter, testing the depth and current. It was very difficult detecting in such strong moving water, and I was doing all I could not to end up soaked! Once I got the hang of it, I began gridding and was coming up with no targets, aside from a bottle cap and a rock containing natural iron deposits.

I was getting tired and needed a break after about an hour of exhausting searching, but I decided to give it a little more, further down stream. I speculated that how fast the water was moving.. maybe the current pushed the ring further, as it fell, than they thought…

Some time later, I got a hit and had to move some good size rocks with my scoop, but could see a faint, ring-sized glimmer on the bottom! Minutes later, it was in my scoop and Paul & Trisha were very emotional as I told them I had done it! I have to admit, I felt emotional too… this was a hard hunt and it was exhausting to fight the current as long as I did. Especially since I was fighting a head cold!

We all celebrated on our hike back to the parking lot, and the newlyweds were super thankful they found me. I’m really glad they found me too! 😉
