Panerai Diver’s Watch Lost in 45′ of Water Lake Travis-Austin, Texas (found)

  • from Sugar Land (Texas, United States)

Panerai Diver’s Watch Lost in 45′ of water in Lake Travis-Austin, Texas.

I was contacted by Clint regarding his Panerai Divers Watch lost in 45 foot of water in Travis Lake. Clint said, he had been jumping off an elevated platform into the water when the watch broke free from his wrist and dropped 45 feet into the depths of Lake Travis.

Clint said he could identify a 15 x1 5 foot area in the water where he believed the watch had dropped and fell to the bottom. Clint provided additional details about the location and sent numerous photographs of the dock and water area that would need to be searched.

Clint informed me a few days later that his neighbor had hired a SCUBA diver to search for his lost watch but he came up empty handed.

Check out the video to see the outcome of this story!

Lost 3 Gold & Diamonds Wedding Rings at Kaneohe Marine Corps Base Hawaii…FOUND!!!

This ring find started Thursday 18 August when I was checking my email. A ring find request came in asking me to call before 11PM. When I called Stacy from Tuscaloosa, Alabama answered and told me her daughter Anna had lost her three Gold & Diamonds Wedding rings on the beach in the sand. Anna had taken her rings off and placed them in the pocket of her back pack for safe keeping. Later that evening she pulled a shirt out of her back pack and when she went for the rings they were gone. She assumed they must have fallen out when she got the shirt. They looked for about an hour but the wind was blowing so hard they were getting pelted by the sand and it hurt. They decided to try the next morning. Stacy started google searching for a Metal Detector Rental and stumbled across the ring finders. Seeing that I was ex-Navy that’s when she sent the email. I told Stacy I would meet them as early as possible Friday morning before the wind started picking up again. We met at the McDonald’s on base and Stacy & Anna took me to the beach where the rings were lost. I had Anna demonstrate how she lost the rings and I drew a box grid in the sand. Surprisingly the area was sterile of metal but there was all kinds of plastic trash. As I was getting to the extreme edge of the grid I got an excellent tone. Because of the diamonds I used my pin-pointer and amazingly the ring was 6 inches deep already from the blowing sand. That was ring #1 but not the solitaire diamond. About 4 feet away I got another nice tone. This was the solitaire also 6 inches deep. Then slightly to the left another nice tone. That was it the 3rd and final ring. My first Trifecta and 3 for 3. Anna & Stacy were so happy & excited and actually surprised it only took 10 minutes. A few warm hugs and thank yous and I could tell a weight had been lifted off Anna’s shoulders. If ever in Alabama I’ve been invited to go relic hunting. Stacy has a White’s detector and has found a Confederate States sword buckle during one of her hunts. If I’m ever there count me in! Aloha to Anna & Stacy!

Engagement Ring Lost Found and Returned on Clearwater Beach

Savanna was staying at Clearwater Beach with her fiancé and his family from Odessa for the weekend. They were tossing a football back and forth when her engagement ring flew off her hand and buried itself in the sand. Michael (her Father in Law) found us on The Ring Finders and called Mike Miller with a plea for help at 8:00 pm. Mike Called Ed Osmar to see if he could respond right away and he said he could. Ed headed out and by 9:00 pm he called Mike to report he had recovered the ring. As you can see in the picture both Savanna and Ed were pretty happy about the return of her ring. Great Job Ed !!!!!!!!

Lost White Gold Ring Found Underwater in Lake Erie, Newport, Estral Beach, Michigan

  • from Detroit (Michigan, United States)

Fisherman’s Blues to Fisherman’s Rock and Roll!

Got a call a week ago that a newly married guy was out fishing with some buds on Lake Erie and as they were bringing the boat back to shore in his ring slipped off. Wife of course was livid! Lake Erie can get quite rough at times and that’s what he was saying it was when he rented an ace 150 with no luck and those are good units but not waterproof. He doubted it could be found because it was out there for 2 weeks. He said it was roughly waist high water and I laughed cos when I met him out there he was quite tall so like his waist was at my chest almost my neck lol (everyone’s taller than me!) So being a private beach and no one else knew about the loss I figured we had a better chance of finding the ring.
We started at sunrise Wednesday morning and as we were walking to the beach the foliage was quite attractive and reminded me of being on an island. As the canopy opened up and as we were getting into the water he was good at remembering the area. I got a linear hit which produced a 6 foot copper pipe. Continuing my grid search and running 0 disc I got a soft signal. The water clarity was near opaque and I usually go barefoot during water searches as I can feel what the item is when I get a hit. The sand was compact so I knew if it was in this area it was just under the surface of the sand bottom. So I felt with my foot as I moved it around on the bottom that the object was round so I thought well its probably a bottle cap but those are usually louder. So I dig it all out in the water so it didn’t matter anyway. Placing my foot at back of coil and scooping forward with my 5′ handle scoop I got nothing, so I swept the coil again and redid scoop procedure and up came this gorgeous white gold band at chest high water depth.

Ring Lost at Pass A Grille Beach Found and Returned

Tony and Tammy were visiting from Michigan and staying at the Don Cesar Resort in St Pete Beach. While out playing in the water, Tammy lost her ring. After looking as long as they could they retired to their room where she spent a sleepless night thinking that she would never see her beloved ring again. Tony assured her that the ring was insured and could be replaced. She didn’t want another one, she wanted hers back. This ring is very special, Tony had given it to her after the birth of their daughter. He came into the hospital room and told Tammy that she had given him something very special and he wanted to give her something special and presented her the ring.
The next morning Tony contacted SRARC and talked to Tom Jones asking for help hopeful that someone could find the ring. A hunt was scheduled at 5:00 that afternoon. Tom, Joe Szemer, Mike Miller, Mark Sillence and Wayne Cree arrived and after meeting up with Tony started hunting. 30 minutes into the hunt Joe Szemer, who had moved into shallower water and out of the hunt area waved Tom Jones over and asked, “is this the ring?” Tom said I think so and took the ring. Joe said to him as he walked off, “if that’s not it I want it back”. Tom made his way back to where Tammy was and found her with a dive mask and her head under the water. He walked over to where she was at and put his hand with her ring on his finger under the water in front of her mask. Tammy’s head came quickly out of the water and said, “Oh, my ring. You found it.” Tony came over and was so happy that he wanted to personally hug everyone that had helped look for the ring.
Tammy told the group later. “I told him even if the insurance pays for it and you get another one, I WON’T WEAR IT.”

Lost Ring Found and Returned on Siesta Key Beach, It is Number 99 for Jay and Karen Ganz

Ron’s Brother in law was playing football on the beach when his tungsten wedding band flew off in the water.
After franticly searching for the ring with no luck, Ron contacted Tom Jones for help. No club members were available at the time so Tom called another member of theringfinders.com in Manatee County to help. After two days not hearing anything back Tom called Ron to see if the ring was found and learned that it was not. Tom called Karen Ganz and asked her if she could possibly help. Karen gladly contacted Ron and met up with them the next morning. After hunting the area that the ring was thought to be in for over an hour, Karen moved into ankle deep water and located the ring.

Congratulations Karen & Jay. Only one more to your goal of 100 returned rings in you detecting career. It looks like you will exceed that long ago set goal. You two are a great example of all the good people we have participating in our hobby.

Long Clearwater Beach hunt finds and returns lost wedding ring

While water hunting Sunday afternoon Ed Osmar was approached by a man and asked for help. It seems that he and a friend were playing catch in the water and when he tossed the ball his wedding ring slipped off and was lost in the ocean. After asking where he thought the ring was Ed started hunting and after about an hour got a good signal and recovered the ring. Holding it up I said here it is and Paul and his wife ran through the water toward me. His wife spread her arms to give me a hug and Paul looked at the ring and said that’s not mine, so back to looking some more. Well it took another two hours+ but Paul was reunited with his ring.

Awesome effort Ed, congratulations on another great recovery. Paul and his wife had these kind words for Ed after the recovery.

« Ed, you are the best! After hours and hours of searching you found my lost wedding band in the depths of the Gulf of Mexico! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! »

The picture below pretty much sums up the reason we like to do this service.

Treasure Island Florida Engagement Ring Lost, Found, and Returned

Emily and her fiancé Arnab have been engaged for 3 weeks and while at the beach Emily took her ring off and put it in the pocket of her shorts under a cabana while she went in the water. After putting on her shorts she realized that her ring was missing and they started searching through the sand and could not find her ring. Arnab told her not to be so upset, the ring was insured and could be replaced. Emily told him that she wanted the ring that he had put on her finger. She contacted Tom Jones to ask for help locating the ring. Tom headed immediately out to Treasure Island with his detector. Upon arriving he met Arnab at the cabana who told him that they had found the ring just a couple of minutes before he had showed up. While waiting for Tom, Arnab was kicking the sand and saw the ring fly out. The couple thanked Tom for being available to help and told him that they had learned a lot that day.

Wedding Ring Lost then Found and Returned on Clearwater Beach, Florida

While on vacation at Clearwater Beach and playing with his three year old son, Josh realized his wedding ring was missing. With the help of friends, the beach was searched for the ring but it could not be found. After telling his wife the ring was lost and that the insurance purchased on the ring did not cover the loss, he was about to call his home owners insurance but happened to call his parents first. His parents live in Ohio and happened to see a recent story on Channel 12 out of Cincinnati about how a group called The Ring Finders had recovered a lost ring for a couple from Ohio vacationing at Clearwater beach just a few weeks earlier and suggested Jose contact that group. The rest is history, he called The SRARC Ring Finders group and they sent help that just happened to be the very same person that who had found the ring in the Channel 12 story. Another happy ending and great recovery By Ed Osmar. Way to keep the smiles coming Ed !!!!!!!!!

LOST RING IN SOUTH KINGSTOWN RI POND…RECOVERED

  • from Charlestown (Rhode Island, United States)
Contact:

On Sunday afternoon, I received a call from Brian, who had lost his wedding band in Barber Pond.  He explained that he had been playing with his daughter in about knee-deep water, when he saw his ring fall into the water.  Hidden by silt which clouded the water, the ring soon disappeared into the sand.  Brian, his wife, and friends searched but couldn’t find the ring.  That’s when Brian consulted the internet and found me on theringfinders.com.  I met Brian at a small parking area near the lake.  After a ten minute walk through the woods, the path opened to a beautiful little beach on the pond.  It would have been a lot more pleasant had it not been 95 degrees and very humid.  Fortunately, I was able to recover the ring in about 45 minutes.  Brian was a very happy young man!
