Barnegat NJ Lost Wedding Ring in the Yard recovered by Edward Trapper NJ Ring Finder 2022

  • from Lavallette (New Jersey, United States)
Samantha messaged me last night about her ring that flew off her daughter, Johanna’s finger while she was playing in the front yard. It was her grandmothers ring and had great sentimental value to her. I had already went to bed, but my auto message prompted her to call. After getting the details it was pretty apparent the ring had slid off her daughters finger when she threw her hands in the air. We didn’t know how far it flew, but knew positively, it was in the grass, someplace in the front yard. I met her right after she got off work to start the search. When I pulled up I didn’t like what I saw. It was an underground electric transformer box right on the corner of the property. If you know metal detectors the EMI interference from them can sometimes make the search impossible. I didn’t let her know this, and adjusted my machine to the conditions. Not 10 minutes later the machine gave the sweet sound of a platinum ring under the coil. I felt around with my pin pointer, as the grass was deep, and it was pushed into the dirt a bit from the family searching the day before. When I spotted the ring, I held the pointer on it to let it keep screaming, and looked over to her with a big smile on my face. She ran over in total amazement, with a priceless look on her face. The next 15 minutes are what makes this hobby so special, it was very sentimental moment.#njringfinder, #lostring,#lostcross,#lostringlavallettenj,#lostringortleybeachnj,#lostringLBI,#lostringholgatenj,#lostringsurfcitynj,#lostringlongbranchnj,#lostringbradleybeachnj,

Lost 24K Gold Wedding Band at Kuhio Beach Pools Waikiki…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This Ring Find began when I noticed a missed call on my phone from Conor.  When I returned the called Conor told me he was on his Honeymoon from Portland, Oregon and had just lost his 24k Gold Wedding Band in shallow water at Kuhio Beach in Waikiki.  He said he had about a 10 foot radius to search.  I told Conor I’d grab my gear and be there in about 15 minutes if he could meet me at the Kapahulu Pier.  After arriving on the beach Conor’s lovely wife Yumeng joined us and was the depth marker on the seawall while Conor came in the water with me to show me where he thought the ring would be.  I started a grid search slightly East of Conor’s mark just to be sure.  Thankfully this area is so heavily detected the hunt was silent then suddenly a booming hit on the Nox and on the second scoop there was the 24K Gold ring in the scoop.  2 for 2 today and Yumeng and Conor were so gracious I was able to find his ring.  Aloha to Conor & Yumeng!

Lost White Gold & Diamonds Engagement Ring at Hawaiian Princess Hotel Beach Waianae…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This Ring Find began at 5AM this morning when I got a text from Bob who was on vacation from Mayville, Wisconsin.  Bob texted « Lost an Engagement Ring at the Hawaiian Princess in Waianae.  Believe it is lost in the sand in a specific area or path.  I texted, I need a few more details and to call when you are free.  Bob immediately called and was able to text me a photo of the area when the sun came up.  My schedule eased up and I was able to head out during my lunch break.  Bob and his lovely wife Michele met me at the Hotel and escorted me to the beach area.  I started the hunt at the beginning of the path to the area they sat on the beach.  Once there I did a complete grid search with no luck finding the ring.  I could see Michele was starting to get that look of hopelessness when I said we aren’t done yet lets expand out on each side of the sand path as to that point I had only found one Lincoln cent.  I took a few more steps on the East side of the path and got a booming #10 on the Nox.  I took one scoop and there was Michele’s gorgeous ring in the scoop.  I told her, « Got it! »  As she came over to look in the scoop as soon as her ring came into view she burst into tears.  Elapsed hunt time was maybe 10 minutes but it probably seemed like an eternity to her.  Michele said, « You saved our vacation! » Look at those smiles.  Aloha to Michele & Bob!

Call/Text 814-244-2300 as soon as possible for assistance. I received a call from David that he thought he lost his gold wedding band while working in the yard the day before. I arrived at the house and it was explained that the day before they were cleaning out the garden and there was a small spot in the backyard, a garbage can, and some fabric pots where the ring could most likely be located. I checked the yard area first with no luck. The next likely place was to be the garbage can so I dumped out the can full of tomatoes and plants…no luck! I cleaned up the yard and started to check the fabric pots. I got a faint sound, but enough to make me investigate further. Using my pinpointer I located the ring about halfway down in the pot. David was elated to have his ring back and I was all to happy to be able to have recovered it. As always – it was a great pleasure to meet kind and generous people like David and his wife, and the cherry on top was being able to return his ring!

Dina contacted me about a phone she had lost the night before at the beach. I asked a lot of questions like where on the sand was it lost knowing this beach is machine groomed by the county daily. When she said it was in the towel line I did not hold much hope for a recovery. She did tell me that it was still showing on the « Find My IPhone » app, and even sent the latest screen shot from the app. She told me she was not able to meet me there because of her job, but told me where to look, and the screen shot gave me a general area as well. I let her know that I would give it a try, and went there to look.

When I got there the area of the search was packed with people, but I began my search anyway weaving in and out trying very hard to not disturb anybody. People would move in and out which helped in covering most of the area. I found a few items, but not the phone. Then I moved up a little more, and got an overpowering signal, put the scoop in, and to my amazement out pops the phone. It had only been covered by about an inch of sand, and had to have been walked on by myriads of people from the time it was lost until I found it. I was surprised that it had not been found seeing it was so shallow, and could have been felt underfoot. Well I was able to get it back to her that night when she got off work, and she was happy for sure.

Matt called saying he had lost his ring at the beach. He said it had just happened about an hour before the call, and he and his friends could not find it. I let him know that I would come right away.

I got to the beach, and had to park about half a mile away, but was able to find Matt. When he showed me the area I could see a lot of sand had been moved, and there was at least one child’s sand sifter that had been used in the process. He was sure where it should be as he had watched it come off of his finger. Well I figured to begin where they had already looked, and went over the whole area without a signal. Then just on the outskirts of where they had searched I got a good signal, dug, and had his ring in the scoop. I was able to give him a bit of relief to not have to go home without his ring, a happy day all around.

It was in the evening when Salma called. She had been at the beach with friends, and when it was late she realized her phone was missing. She and her friends scoured the sand looking for the phone, but were unable to find it, that is when Salma called me. I asked if it was showing on the « Find My IPhone » app, and she said it was.  I let her know that I was available, and would come right away.

When I got to the beach Salma met me, and took me out to where the phone was lost. They we very smart in that they marked the area they thought the loss occurred, because judging things in the dark can be very difficult. I began the search where they had made the mark coming up with the usual trash metal, bottle caps, tin foil, pull tabs, etc. but no phone. I covered all the area with no luck, but they were sure it should be there. I let them know that I was going to expand my search, and they reluctantly agreed that would be good. Then about 15 feet from their original area I received a very strong signal, dug, and found the phone. I reached down, grabbed it, and then held it up for them. Salma came over very excited to have her phone back, but did not want her photo taken, so I asked Peter her friend if he would pose with the phone which he agreed to. It was a very warm and HUMID night that night, and I was glad to be going home after that search. All in all, a very good night.

Gerrie’s Story: A Lost Heirloom Ring in Montecito
In the heart of Santa Barbara, Gerrie, a devoted dog trainer, faced heartbreak when she lost her father’s 1942 Penn State fraternity ring—a family heirloom steeped in memories. This wasn’t just any ring: it symbolized her father’s presidency, his marriage, and his WWII service in the South Pacific. For over a decade, Gerrie cared for him through Alzheimer’s until his passing at 99. Breast Cancer Survivor Ring…FOUND in Car in Harvest, Alabama!

  • from Huntsville (Alabama, United States)

Christina McCree – Ring Finder/Metal Detectorist for northern Alabama and southern/middle Tennessee…call or text ASAP, anytime 24/7…610-504-6135

Just after noon on Saturday, October 22nd, 2022, I received a text message from Paula stating that she had lost her ring in her car and wanted to know if I was available to look for it.  She said that she lived in Harvest, Alabama.  That’s the same city I live in, and she was only a 6-minute drive from my house!  At the time of Paula’s text, I was helping a local flower shop deliver flowers, because all the regular drivers were unavailable that day.  I told Paula that I could swing by after I was done or the following day.  I finished the deliveries around 3:15 and told Paula that I was going to run by my house to change and grab my equipment.

I arrived at Paula’s house around 4pm.  I asked her to tell/show me what happened and the story behind her ring.  Paula told me that she was a breast cancer survivor and her best friend from Jacksonville State University had given her this special ring on her 5-year anniversary of being cancer free.  They had seen the ring in an antique store in New Orleans.  Her friend had secretly purchased the ring and held it until the anniversary to surprise Paula.  You can imagine the sentimental value this ring held to Paula.  I was determined to find and return it to her!

Paula said that the day before she was sitting in her car and took off the ring to put on lotion.  She set the ring on her lap, but it fell onto the divider she had between her seat and the center console.  The ring landed on some papers in the divider, but when she went to grab it, her ring was gone.  Paula and her mom looked for about an hour but could not find it.  Paula told me that she found out about The Ring Finders by watching a YouTube video of a ring recovery in a car by one of my good Rind Finder buddies, Jeff Morgan “Seattle Ring Hunter”.

I grabbed my high lumens flashlight and endoscope and started searching.  I started by feeling around the seat and floorboard.  Next, I used my endoscope to search under the seat, in the air vent, and other crevices.  I didn’t find the ring in any of those spots.  I decided to research along the seat and found a metal bracket.  It had a tray and when I slid my hand in there, I could feel a ring!  I was able to carefully grab it with my hand and when I pulled it out, I saw a gorgeous 14K white gold antique looking ring.  This was Paula’s special cancer survivor ring!!!  I was so happy to see it and thanked the Lord!

At the time I found the ring, Paula was out talking with her neighbor.  I took some pictures and headed out to surprise Paula.  I introduced myself to her neighbor and said I was trying my best to find Paula’s ring.  At that moment, I opened my hand and said, “is this your ring?”  Paula gasped and said, “yes, that’s it!”  She was so happy and thankful that she had her ring back!

We took some pictures and I chatted with Paula for a few minutes afterwards.  I told her about some of my prior searches.  Paula was so fascinated by The Ring Finders and excited that one lived so close by.  We said that maybe we’d run into each other somewhere around town.  Paula gave me a big hug and thanked me again.  I headed home and Paula was now able to enjoy the rest of her Saturday evening with her beautiful ring back on her finger where it belongs.  I love getting to go on these adventures, hear these stories, and find/return these sentimental items to people!  Best job and feeling in the world!!!

Lost and found diamond engagement ring Inverary Ontario

My ring recovery today took me to a horse farm in Inverary, just north of Kingston Ontario.  Received a text from Nick and Meaghan, about her having just lost her beautiful diamond engagement ring while feeding the horses. She just had taken out a couple of bails of hay to their feeders when she realized that her ring was missing. The good news is that she knew for sure she had her ring on before feeding the horse. The bad news is she wasn’t exactly sure where and when she had lost the ring. Even worse, did one of the horses eat the ring while feeding on the freshly spread hay in the feeder. She moved the horses into another field for the night, while they tried to find the ring through the hay.
I met with them first thing this morning and started to spread and search through the hay, with no luck so far. While picking her brains, in the chain of events during last evening, she did mentioned that she had thrown old wet feed from the feeder onto the ground prior to putting in fresh Hay, Since we’ve had 3 days of solid rain this week, the ground near the feeders was a soup like wet mud. After a few minutes, I heard that distinct sweet sound of gold and while using my pin pointer, was able to fish out her ring from the mud. Very happy and appreciative young couple plus, I got to visit and pet some horses. Another happy ending!
