BRIAN RUDOLPH, LOST ITEM RECOVERY SPECIALIST (LAND, WATER, SAND, SNOW, LEAVES, HOUSES & VEHICLES) WILL FIND YOUR LOST KEEPSAKE! CALL ASAP (301) 466-8644!

I received a call from a young man named Tyler who lost his 14 karat yellow gold wedding band in the bay at Fenwick Island, Delaware. He saw the ring fly into the water as he was applying sunscreen lotion just before taking the boat out with his wife and family for an all day cruise.

When Tyler realized that he needed to call for a professional metal detectorist in the Fenwick Island area, he searched online and found THE RING FINDERS – an international directory of metal detectorists who specialize in recovering lost rings for people around the world.

I was so happy to talk with Tyler and once I got the story of what happened to his ring, we set up an early morning appointment the following day. I left my house at 3:30am to arrive in Fenwick Island, Delaware by 7am and then meet up with Tyler by 8am. Once I arrived at Tyler’s beach house located on the bay side, he took me around back and showed me his personal dock where the boat was tied up. He had moved the vessel over to another slip so that I was able to easily work near the location where the wedding band went into the water.

Tyler showed me the exact spot where the ring disappeared into the 5 feet of water below, next to a piling. I told the young man that I would get my equipment and get the party started.

Within a few minutes, I was back out on the dock, testing the water for any live electricity with my Shock Alarm. Everything was safe and ready for me to then adjust my detector to the correct settings to help my efforts in finding the sentimental keepsake.

With my wetsuit and detecting harness on and my sand scoop and waterproof metal detector in hand, I jumped into the water off of the dock and started my search for Tyler’s ring.

Slowly and methodically, I swung the detector coil from left to right seeking out the most credible target signals in the area where Tyler saw the ring enter the water. There were all kinds of pieces of metal down below and I had to determine which signals to investigate and others to ignore.

Within a couple of minutes, a fantastic target signal registered on my screen and sounded through my headphones. The only problem was that the piece of metal was resting very close to the piling that was in the corner of the slip. I wasn’t sure if I could capture the item in my scoop or not, yet I was determined to give it all of my effort to see exactly what it was.

After several attempts to scoop up the particular target that I was after, I waived the detector over the area near the piling and curiously, I no longer could hear the signal anymore. Though I was a bit pessimistic that the item was in my amazing Xtreme X3 titanium sand scoop developed and manufactured by Ring Finder member John Volek, I still sifted through the silt and mud that remained in the scoop just to make sure. To my greatest surprise, I took notice of a handsome piece of yellow gold shining in the middle of the remaining silt in the scoop! I did it! I found Tyler’s missing gold wedding band! I was able to successfully recover it from the depths of the Fenwick Island Bay!

I was absolutely taken back at that moment as I picked up the ring from within the scoop! All of the family that were hanging out on the second floor screened-in balcony cheered me on as I waived the ring in the air from within the water and then excitedly handed it back to its proper owner!

Seeing how happy this moment made Tyler and his wife Sarah was worth the 3 hour journey to the beach and then another 3 hours inland to my next client! Helping others recover their lost treasures and sentimental keepsakes like I did for this couple is something so special to be a part of! I consider this happy ending story for Tyler and Sarah to be my lost treasure found…another smile recovered!

Metal Detecting Lost Wedding Band in Ocean City, Maryland…Found in Sand!

  • from Washington (District of Columbia, United States)

Abdul’s Wedding Band Happily Found in the Sand on the Beach in Ocean City, Maryland!

Abdul and His Newlywed Bride Sarah Celebrating the Return of Abdul’s Very Special Wedding Keepsake!

BRIAN RUDOLPH, LOST ITEM RECOVERY SPECIALIST (LAND, WATER, SAND, SNOW, LEAVES, HOUSES & VEHICLES) WILL FIND YOUR LOST KEEPSAKE! CALL ASAP (301) 466-8644!

On one particular beautiful summer sunny day, I was metal detecting along the surf in Ocean City, Maryland when I was contacted by a young lady named Sarah. Her newlywed husband of less than a year, named Abdul, lost his 14 karat white gold wedding band somewhere in the sand near their beach things. The man saw the ring fly off his finger when he was clapping his hands together out of excitement for something fun that was being shared between he and his wife on the beach.

Coincidentally, I was less than a block away from where the couple frantically looked for their missing ring.  Out of a hundred and fifty Ocean City beach blocks, I happened to be on the same block, on the sand, no more than 100 feet away from them! It was meant to be that I was supposed to help this lovely couple out!

As I looked around I could see a young lady approach me and introduced herself as Sarah. She was so happy that I was close by and still on the beach because I was about to leave just a few minutes later.

Sarah then took me over to where all of their belongings were and I had the privilege of meeting Abdul. They were just the nicest couple ever, so full of much happiness and life!

I asked all of the necessary questions as to how the ring came off of Abdul’s finger and the approximate area where he was sitting at the time that the wedding band disappeared. Once I got the clear picture of what happened and what type of precious metal that we were looking for, I grabbed my metal detector and began the search.

The recovery of Abdul’s most treasured ring took all of 60 seconds! As soon as I came across the first target that could be heard on my detector, I knelt down in the hot dry sand and took out my handheld metal detector to locate the exact location of the target. I then placed my fingers in the sand until I felt a halo-type shaped object. I knew at that moment that I had found what Abdul and Sarah had been searching for for the longest time!

The couple was so happy that they called upon me to find Abdul’s missing ring! Everyone nearby celebrated with the newlyweds knowing that their very special « love story » (which was represented by this ring) was safely back in their possession once again!

Abdul and Sarah could not stop thanking me, and likewise, I couldn’t stop thanking them for giving me the opportunity and privilege to help out such a very special newlywed couple!

Estate and Property Search for Gold and Silver…Florida!

  • from Sanford (Florida, United States)
Contact:

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to have the opportunity to search for hidden treasure? To know that gold and silver were stashed somewhere and you were the one to be asked to look for and recover it? How do you begin a search like that? Where do you start? What tools and detectors will you use? How much do you charge for your service? And who will help you put it all together?

Since joining Chris Turner’s directory of TheRingFinders I have received a variety of calls asking me to help locate things like rings, keys, knives, pulleys, coins, necklaces, pendants, and most recently–Gold Bars!! I expect calls to look for the usual lost items but this call caught me by surprise. Right away I knew that I needed to call Chris Turner and ask him a ton of questions and figure out what my next steps should be. After talking to Chris and getting his advice I felt allot more confident that if the gold was there then I would have a much better chance of locating it.

56 pounds of silver dimes!

And so began my first Estate Search. The deceased had died suddenly and left evidence that he was prepared for whatever crisis that the government or economy would send his way. There were dozens of guns and ammunition and also documentation that he had purchased gold and silver. He lived a very secluded life and had his own water source and a large garden. And even though someone broke into the house three days after the man had passed away and rummaged through all his belongings we still felt there was a good chance we could find the gold if it was still there.

The first day we began our search in the house. We checked all the usual places people hide things and even places that would have made great hiding places but we found nothing. On day two we decided to look the outside of the house over including the yard and some of the sheds. That is when we stumbled onto an old rusty bucket of silver dimes! The bucket was so heavy that when we tried to pick up the bucket it came apart and literally thousands of dimes went spilling over the ground. You can just imagine our excitement and the rush we felt as we stood there and stared at that pile of silver dimes! I grabbed a five gallon paint bucket to put the coins in and at the end of the day, when we weighed the bucket, we had 56 pounds of silver dimes!

We started day three with renewed energy and hope of finding more caches and valuables as there was a lot more of the property to look over yet. We spent most of the day searching the sheds and garden areas thinking that there had to be more buried somewhere. After hours of searching outdoors it was getting really hot and we needed to stop for lunch and a much needed break. As we sat eating our lunch I got to thinking that the downstairs needed to be gone over one more time. (The upstairs apartment had been cleaned out by a cleaning service the estate had hired and all that was left downstairs was a lot of old paint cans, tools, lumber and the kind of junk that people normally have in their garages or basements.) After lunch we headed downstairs to give it the « fine tooth comb » going over! Not 10 minutes into our search we came across an old paint can that looked every bit the part of just an « old can of paint. » We pried the lid off and opened it up to find–there staring up at us were the tops of three money bags tied off and four rolls of what looked like silver dollar coins. Once again you can just imagine the feelings and emotions as we carefully pulled out the contents and laid it all out to count and take pictures! That « old can of paint » held over 600 silver half dollars–Walking Libertys, Benjamin Franklins and Kennedys, plus 85–1 Troy oz. silver rounds!!

All of a sudden those old paint cans had our full attention! Stash number three was located not 10 minutes later only this time there was a large bar of some kind in the bottom of another can and it was wrapped in paper. We thought, « Could these be the gold bars we were originally looking for? »

As we slowly pulled out the contents and laid them gently on the floor we were stunned to see 60 more 1–Troy oz. coins and a 100 oz. bar of .999 pure silver!! And even though it was not the gold bars we were hired to find, our hearts were still pounding like we found the mother load! And all this was found in the « junk » that was left behind by the cleaning crew!

That evening I called Chris Turner and as we discussed the exciting events of the day we realized that there was definitely more places that needed looking into. Chris said he would love to fly out and help us finish up the search and that was all I needed to hear. We invited Chris to « Come on down to sunny Florida » and the next day I picked him up at the airport!

We spent three more day trying to figure out just where the old gentleman hid his treasures. In our search we even found a book that was titled « How to Hide Anything »! We found old letters and photos that helped us put together a bit of his life and gave us some clues. It was neat to uncover key facts and details that helped us confirm the old gentleman had indeed bought gold and silver! In the end we were exhausted but very content in what all we were able to find. Like 90 pounds of silver and an experience that will last a lifetime!

Thanks again to Chris Turner and TheRingFinders for giving us the amazing opportunity to search for that which was hidden and stashed away. We may never know just where the gold really went. Did the person who broke into the house before the cleaners take it? Did the cleaners throw it out with the rest of the trash? Questions we may never have the answers to.
