Lost Silver Locket at Kits Beach, Vancouver…Found!

I always say everyones lost jewelry has a story attached to it and everyone’s story is different.          This young lady lost a silver locket that was given to her by her grandmother, it was lost in the sand at Kits Beach and she didn’t realize that she lost it until she got home that evening. How do you replace something so special that was given to you by someone so special?The best thing this young lady did was post on the lost & found on the craigslist and then reply to my email. I just sent the info on my service called  »The Ring Finders » and said I could help. She told her mother and they took a look at my directory/website and made the call.After discussing the search I was on my way to the beach to meet them both and look for her locket. I knew that there was a chance that another treasure hunter could have found it before me,  I contacted a friend that I know searches Kits Beach and he said he didn’t find it so I felt like we had a chance.  After just 20 minutes of searching the area that the locket could have been in… I found it…Funny thing was it wasn’t in the area I was searching. She received a text message from a friend that sent her a picture of where they were sitting and she showed me a reference marker between two benches and two garbage cans.While I walked up to take a look at the text message I got a signal and kicked the sand to see her silver locket…The story of her locket continues and I was so happy that I could find it for her. Thank you for the kind reward! I love my job! Lost something? Lost White Gold Wedding Band at Jericho Beach, Vancouver…Found in 30 Seconds

Well I received a call from a young man yesterday in regards to his lost gold wedding band at Jericho Beach in Vancouver. He tells me he thinks he lost his ring in the ocean while throwing a Frisbee, however we will not be able to meet as he had a dinner date with his wife that night. He told me that he would go back in the morning to search for the ring at low tide. I got off work early today and just then I get a call from the young man asking if we could meet to search for his ring…

I met Derek and his wife at the beach and we talked about the search and Derek walked me over to the log they were sitting at….

 

 

With in seconds of searching the area we found his wedding ring in the dry sand…

 

Derek and his wife were very happy and grateful for finding his lost ring!

 

I was blown away that no one found the ring as it was right next to a log and we all know to search the logs…

Also I thought I was going there to grid search the ocean…

Lost Breitling Watch in the Ocean at Kits Beach, Vancouver BC

Well this was a first for me in the 18 years I’ve been offering this service here in Vancouver… Two watch searches in less then 24 hours, the first was for a Rolex that was lost in the ocean and I found that one and this search for a Breitling…Both high quality watches and both I have owned back in the day so I understood how hard that must have been on both of them.I received a call from a young man that went on to explain that he lost his Breitling Transocean at the beach a few days ago and he wanted to know if I could help. Time is always a factor and watches are easy to spot so I explained that someone could have already found the watch. Well after seeing the area the watch was lost in I decided to come back at 3am to search the low tide where he thought it was lost at…After setting up my glow sticks  on the shore so I’d have a reference markers to line up with I started my grid search. After 1 1/2 hours in the dark I received a good strong signal and as I looked into my sand scoop I saw the watch! I felt so happy that I found the watch and that I’d get to text him a picture for him to see when he woke up. Lost Stainless Steel Wedding Band at 3rd Beach Stanley Park…Found

I received a call the other day in regards to a lost Stainless Steel wedding band that a young man had lost at 3rd beach in Stanley Park, Vancouver.

I met up with the man and his friend and they told me the story how they were throwing a frisbee and when he came out of the water the ring was gone.

These searches can take a while because you have to set the grid until you get in the right area and I did get in the right area after 30 minutes…

I love my job and I love to see the smiles after you find what you’re looking for…I’ll never get tired of this job!

Lost: 1/4 Kt. Diamond Platinum Ring Dewey Beach, Delaware……………Found

While out on another ring search on a beach 30 minutes away, I received a phone call from a young lady requesting my help in locating her lost Platinum Diamond ring on the beach in Dewey Beach,  Del. I responded to the location at which time I made contact with the young lady and learned that she had dropped both her wedding ring and engagement ring in the dry sand. The young lady was able to recover the wedding band but had no luck in finding the engagement ring. As I arrived at the location of the lost ring I observed man with a metal detector at the scene, I learned that he had searched for the lost ring prior to my arrival and that he was unable to locate it with his metal detector. The young lady pointed out the marked area where the ring had been lost and I began my grid search. I made one pass and turned around to make a second pass at which time I heard the sweet sound of success in my head set. The young lady was very happy with being reunited with her lost ring. Another successful recovery and very happy client.

Lost Silver Ring at Kits Beach, Vancouver…Found!

I get an email yesterday that a lady lost 3 silver rings at the beach, after calling her I find out that she lost them the day before…So its been over 24 hours and I know that people search that beach of a night and early morning and the chances are that someone may have beaten us to the rings.

I meet with the young lady and her man and they show me the area the rings were lost, after a north, south grid search of the area I don’t find the rings. I now will ask my friends who hunt Kits Beach if they know anyone who has found them the rings and offer the reward to them.

As I was searching the area I had a man come up and tell me a young lady lost her ring and ask if I could help. I said sure and asked him to tell her to come over and she did, i told her I’d be over as soon as I finished my grid search.

I walked 50 yards over and met the young lady who showed me the area the ring was flipped off her towel. I started my grid search and after a minute or two I ask if she could move her bike so I could check near there…

Well there it was! Just inches under the sand right where her bike was. I was able to dig it up and surprise her before she knew I found it.

Every Ring has a story attached it and that story ends when it is lost…I love to help continue that story by finding it for them!

Lost Ring at Boundary Bay, Centennial Beach, Tsawwassen BC…Found

We received an email at 1o:15 pm from a young man that lost his ring at Centennial Beach, Boundary Bay, Tsawwassen. The strange thing was that we had a search that morning for a man’s lost ring in water. It was a massive area and we found it in a few hours…My wife found it! She was so excited!!! that video will be up as soon as we meet the person who lost the ring and give it back…

So this search Danny told me that he knew the area the ring came off at and my question was did you lose it by a log? Yes he replied, not far from a log. I knew we had to hit the beach ASAP because if we waited till the next day someone could beat us to it…

We met up and discussed the search and set out to the location he lost the ring. I have a big  battery powered light that lit the way to the area he lost his ring.

Because Beverley found the last ring at this beach she decided that she’d find this one too. Danny was confident that the ring was lost in a relatively small area so Beverly started her grid search and within 5-10 minutes she found his ring!

Beverley was so happy that Dan got his ring back and this was only the second time we ever hunted this beach! The same day Beverley found a diamond ring(32 diamonds) for a man that lost it a week before we were able to search for it…

I’m so happy that my wife is excited to compete with me…I just hope she lets me find a few!

Lost Ring at SunSet Beach, Vancouver, BC…Found in 3 Feet of Water!

This was a 911 call at around 5pm when I was still at work, I talked to the young lady and she told me that she had lost a very special ring that was given to her by someone she loves very much! She spent hours searching in the water with googles and the ring as most do just disappeared into the sand below.

I assured her that as soon as I got off work that would be right there to find her ring, she told me that she knew the spot and I was hopeful for a very quick recovery… She waited at the spot for 4 hours until I got off work and arrived at the beach.

It was dark when I arrived,  I was sure that it would be a fast recovery as she showed me the area the ring was lost. Well it took 2 hours before the ring showed itself! I could tell that Tina was losing hope and I wanted to get a first time reaction so I told her my batteries were dying and I needed to change them.

As I got out of the water I started my video camera and started to talk to her about the search and about how many pennies I was finding…Then I reached into my scoop and held out her ring!

Her face lit up and the ring that meant the world to her was back where it belonged!

Lost Silver Chain at Kits Beach, Vancouver BC…Found!

I receive a call this morning from a young man who told me he lost a very special silver chain that was given to him by his girlfriend. He lost it at Kits Beach in Vancouver the evening of the fireworks.

That’s the worst time to lose something on the beach because after the fire works many metal detectorists will search the beaches all night long. I thought fore sure someone would have already found the chain.

I put out a few calls but no one heard of a silver chain being found on Kits Beach so I called the young man and we set a time to meet at the beach that day.

After about 20 minutes of searching for a parking spot we hooked up and discussed the search area and I told him that our chances where low and he understood.

He took me to the area and I set my grid and started to search, the people around the area were curious and watched as I searched. One pull tab, one bottle cap, one washer and then…Up from the sand hanging half out on my sand scoop was his beautiful silver chain!

 

Within seconds of seeing the silver glinting in the hot sun people started clapping and cheering… The young man and his girlfriend were all smiles.

I have found lots of rings and things over the years, this recovery made me smile to see how such a young man was so happy to see his silver chain that was given to him by his sweetheart. He told me how much it meant to him and another one wouldn’t be the same…

Lost diamond ring Bradford Beach, Milwaukee… FOUND!

An innocent  flip of a beach towel catapulted Pamela’s precious ring into the abyss of endless loose sand.  Despite her best search efforts, and those of her friends, the ring seemed destined to never to grace her finger again.  And its story might well have ended were it not for the phone call Pamela made to a Wisconsin member of The Ring Finders.–Paul Humphreys.  After hearing Pamela’s story, Paul arranged to meet her the next afternoon at Bradford Beach on the shores of Lake Michigan near downtown Milwaukee.  Pamela pointed out a living-room sized area close to the water’s edge whee she believed the highly sentimental token made its fatal leap.  After only 10-minutes of searching with his Whites XLT Metal Detector, the ring’s hiding place was no match for the detector and Paul’s skills.  What a joy to present yet another lost ring to its overjoyed owner!  And as his practice, 25% of the reward he received, is donated to the Waukesha Memorial Hospital, the medical  facility that helped Paul return to his love of metal detecting after battling serious cancer.
