This is a special ring story to share because it has to do with young love, drama, mystery, hope, adversity, perseverance and lastly…redemption! I received a text message at 12:55 am from a young lady named Trinity who was desirous of recovering her lost promise ring. This is what she texted: « Hello this is Trinity. I lost a ring about 2 years ago that I got from my husband (then boyfriend) when we had first started. My husband doesn’t want me to keep trying to find the ring. But every time I think of it I feel guilty I lost it and I grow to love it more and more. I’m aching to get it back. I know it’s been awhile. So it’s not high chances but I wanted to discuss details with you to see how bad you think it will be to find it. » When I woke up that morning I immediately responded: « Hello Trinity, Thank you for contacting me. I would love to help. When can we discuss the details of its disappearance?” We talked later that morning on the phone and here is the backstory regarding how the ring got lost and what Trinity did to try to find her special keepsake:

A couple of years earlier while Trinity was attending Potomac Falls High School in Cascades, Virginia (near Sterling), she fell in love with Francisco who gave her a gold plated promise ring. It meant everything to her. Four months after Trinity received the special jewel, tension befell the couple. Something majorly challenging happened between them. The young lady was so hurt that once the final school bell sounded throughout the halls, Trinity stormed out of the school building, made her way over to her car, took her promise ring off of her finger and while standing in the middle of the student parking lot, she threw the keepsake towards a wooded area. The heated girl believed she heard the ring hit the parking lot pavement or curb before it disappeared. She was hoping that the promise ring ended up in the woods rather than it ricocheting back onto the concrete where it eventually would be found by someone else. Trinity thought she may have heard the ring hit some leaves which gave her some hope that her “symbol of love” was still quite accessible. Though the young lady was quite angry, she still hoped that the ring had cleared the woods and that it didn’t end up where someone could pocket it.

A week or so later, when things cooled down between the couple, Trinity had feelings of regret for throwing the ring. She rented a metal detector and searched for six hours in the woods hoping to find her precious symbol of promise. Unfortunately, Trinity wasn’t able to find her ever so important “symbol of promise”. There were several obstacles that the young girl faced which made it nearly impossible for her to find what she was looking for. One, it was possible that the ring never made it into the woods and that someone had already picked it up off of the parking lot asphalt. Two, Trinity lacked experience with metal detecting. Three, there was tons of trash scattered on and beneath the leaves which made it extremely difficult for her to make any sense out of all of the beeps and bleeps she was hearing and seeing on her machine. Lastly, there was a large area of dense thorn bushes and bramble covering a significant portion of territory where the ring could have ended up, and so Trinity stayed away from that particular danger zone for obvious reasons.

On the brighter side of things, time marched on and the couple eventually got married after finishing high school. As the years progressed, Trinity felt guilty for throwing the promise ring and she thought about it quite often. Now that she was wearing her wedding band, she so desired to possess the entire love story represented partially by the promise ring that her once high school sweetheart Francisco had given her. It kept bothering her that she didn’t even have that special piece of jewelry for more than a third of that year. In addition to that, the guilt and regret kept eating her up inside.

Trinity eventually searched online for new ideas as to how she might be able to find her ring (if it was still somewhere out there). That’s when THE RING FINDERS website popped up. Trinity couldn’t wait until later that morning to contact me! That’s when she sent me that after midnight text message! As I indicated above, the two of us talked later that morning on the phone. Trinity shared with me that her husband was in doubt that the ring could ever be recovered and encouraged Trinity to move on. Yet, after reading many of my successful ring stories and testimonials from my happy clients, she felt very confident that if the ring was still out there, I was her guy to find it!

After talking with Trinity and asking her every question imaginable, I expressed to her that I was confident that there was a good chance we could recover this ring. During that conversation, there was no mention of the jewel hitting the pavement before she believed it made it to the woods. I would discover that vital part of the account upon meeting her at the search location. That would have concerned me from the start but it still would not have deterred me from trying to recover the item. The facts that made me feel good about my chances of success had to do with what Trinity shared with me:

One, she threw it towards the grass and the woods (I did not know about the trees and thorns until I arrived at the search site). Two, the ring was a small petite size of 4.5 or 4.75. I didn’t know that the ring was a very thick wedding band style type which therefore could have easily been eyeballed if it was out in public on the grassy area completely exposed. Three, when the ring was thrown, it was in the season of Fall which was positive because the ring could have ended up under some leaves and became camouflaged from being seen by anyone walking by. Also with the gold being the color yellow, it would blend nicely into the aged leaves settling onto the ground. Four, no one else specifically took notice of what had transpired when Trinity had thrown the ring, but others just knew that something bad had taken place between she and her boyfriend when the angry girl stormed across the parking lot. There were a few positive pieces of information to lean upon with this search and I looked forward to checking the site out as soon as Trinity would be back in touch with me.

Another day went by and I had not heard from my potential client so I texted Trinity once again: « Good morning Trinity, it was a pleasure talking with you the other day. Let me know if I can be of assistance to you in the recovery of your beloved promise ring. All the best and have a wonderful day! Brian Rudolph / The Ring Finders ». Trinity responded: « Oh yes please! I spoke to my husband… and he too is interested if you can find it! »

Another week went by and I didn’t hear anything else from Trinity and so I thought that maybe she decided to let the search idea go by the wayside. Then, out of the blue, a few days later I heard back from her! We then set up the search date and time to meet over at her old high school parking lot.

During my first trip out to Potomac Falls High School, it was pretty cold outside. I wore some heavy winter gear and met my client out by the parking lot near the place where she threw the ring nearly two years earlier. Trinity showed me where she was standing in the middle of the parking lot, approximately 30 feet or so away from the edge of the curb. Then, above the concrete the lawn began and it gradually dipped down to where the woods began. The young lady wasn’t sure exactly where the ring hit the asphalt but she believed it bounced off of the pavement somewhere and hoped that it landed in the woods. As I shared earlier, Trinity believed that she may have heard it settle onto some leaves or something. In the next couple of weeks following that first search attempt, I asked my client why she thought she heard the ring hit the leaves in the woods knowing how angry she was at the time. Most people would not have had such self control and sensitivity to be so attuned to her surroundings at such an emotional state. The young lady was pretty confident that at that time she wanted to make sure that the ring was not in public site.

When I got all of the details that I needed to start the search, I said a prayer with Trinity, asking the Lord to bless our time in seeking to recover the lost ring. Then, I gathered my gear and began the hunt. Trinity remained in her car where it was warm. She read her book as well as took interest with what I was doing from time to time. When I dug up a target I would hold it up and show her what I had found. There was so much trash that after awhile my client’s interest faded and she focused more on the pages in front of her than the many pull tabs, bottle caps, coins and much scrap pieces of various types of metal that I constantly unearthed and waved in her direction.

Every 20 to 30 seconds I was back down on the ground detecting another shallow signal that was just below the surface. As I moved leaves out of the way there would be various pieces of trash made primarily out of aluminum. I found aluminum foil, beer cans, soda cans, condom wrappers, marijuana joint wraps, aluminum wrappers, ketchup packets, other products made from aluminum foil that wrapped up food items at one time, a shotgun shell, and much more.

I would search for nearly three and a half hours that morning into early afternoon. At some point I needed to wrap up the search to get to my next client. I encouraged her that this was just all part of the process of elimination. Even though I didn’t find the ring, I could at least know where the ring was not. The question was whether or not the band had been seen by anyone else if it never reached the woods. I would not know that answer unless I continued forward the next time I returned.

I encouraged Trinity that we covered a lot of square footage and removed a tremendous amount of trash for one search visit. Before we parted, I showed her all of the sections that I searched and what areas I would scan on the next trip out. I told my client that I would leave all of the thorn bushes and bramble untouched until we concluded that the ring was nowhere else in the woods. At least I was able to conclude one thing – the ring was not on the grassy areas which covered approximately 7 feet in depth from the curb, down the small hill and out towards the woods. The grid I conducted was stretched 70 feet from left to right. When I would start back up again on my next search attempt, I would be tackling only sections of the ground that contained leaves, dirt and lots more trash. A few minutes after we both said our goodbyes and drove away from the high school parking lot, I texted Trinity: « Hang in there Trinity! We got this! We will definitely find it for you soon enough! As I said to you, I will text you later with my availability this week. All of the best to you on this Sunday!” She texted back: « Thank you! Have a good Sunday. »

The next day, I texted Trinity my schedule and let her know that I could make it out that Thursday. I shared with her that she could fully trust me if she was not able to be present for Part Two of the search. I said, « Even if you are not able to be there, I assure you that you can feel comfortable knowing that your beloved ring will be returned to you should I find it out there in the woods! » She texted back, « Yeah it’s all good, I trust you. Thursday I will be preoccupied but you can keep searching without me. » I responded, « Oh wonderful! Thank you Trinity! You can trust me 100%. I mean this when I say that I am the only one capable of finding your beloved promise ring due to the fact that I’m the only one with so much « OCD » (LOL) to go through the trash piece by piece in that amount of area. The ring could have bounced much farther if it ricocheted off of the curb. So I’m your best bet and I hope I can make a story out of this for us! » Trinity responded, « Yes that would be wonderful! Thank you. »

Thursday arrived and it was pouring rain outside as I drove to the search site. I decided to keep moving and not cancel just in case the rain would slow down. Thank goodness it did. From 9:30 am to 12:30 pm I continued the search, pulling out more trash and covering the wooded area that was most reasonable to search. I may have detected about 35 to 40 feet into the woods and stretching 70 feet from left to right. I used specialized grid tapes to organize the entire operation so not to miss a single square inch. I covered so much territory that when I was done, there was no other real estate left for me to search except for the wooded areas that were confined by a huge amount of bramble and thorn vines that stretched to nearly 8 to 10 feet in the air (Yes, you read it correctly! From the ground towards the sky it was approximately between 8 to 10 feet high) and stretched across for nearly 50 feet from left to right. There was literally an entire mini forest filled with long and windy thorn branches as sharp and dangerous as knives!

When I was done with the second search attempt, I sent a picture of all of the trash that I had found out in the woods and I let Trinity know that I still had not found her beloved promise ring. Later that day I again sent another text message letting her know that I would be planning to come out the following Monday: « Hi Trinity, I wanted to let you know I am planning to come out Monday to continue the search and I’m going to need to cut all of the thorn branches down in order for me to get into that area where that huge forest of thorns exists! I have an electric trimmer that should cut everything down. I will let you know what time I plan to be out there. I’m pretty sure Monday will work. » I did not hear back from her at all and I wondered if she had already started giving up hope that she would ever see her priceless promise ring ever again.

Unfortunately, when the next Monday came, the weather was not kind to me at all. I had to cancel the search and schedule my trip back to Virginia a couple of days later (which would be Wednesday). Again, sadly to say, it happened once more. The skies opened up and once again I was forced to postpone the continuation of the project. Just like with all of the other times, I texted Trinity and informed her that I would schedule my next trip to the site on the upcoming Monday for Part Three of the search.

It had been 11 days since I had last heard back from Trinity during our back and forth correspondence via text messaging. I still had not received any responses from Trinity which again made me more convinced that my client had given up all hope that her ring would ever be recovered. I concluded this when I didn’t hear from her anymore. Yet, as far as I was concerned, I was still determined to complete what I had started and continue to give it my all.

When the day finally came for me to resume the search and begin Part Three of the extremely tedious project, as always, I let my client know that I had arrived and was preparing for the search. I texted her: « Call me if you want to chat as I get my gear out. My first mission is to chop down all of that thick thorn activity. » Even after that correspondence I still did not hear back from Trinity.

I began my search with prayer as I did with the young lady on my first visit out. Then, it was time to use my lithium battery operated hedge trimmer to cut the first of many large sections of thorn bushes and coverings to gain further access into the woods and closer to the ground to be able to continue metal detecting for the little “symbol of promise”. The thorn bramble stalks were so thick that I had to literally push the already trimmed bundles out of the way with my cutting “war machine” arsenal because the thorns were so high off the ground and I needed to get the detector coil farther below the mess in order to obtain accurate signals. As I shared earlier in the story, the growth was something I had never seen before! The thorn branches extended from the ground straight up in the air and entangled its web around tree limbs that had to be at least 10 feet up from the earth! The overgrowth was so dense that there was even a bird’s nest built to perfection with a security system that made it nearly impossible for the rest of that natural environment to penetrate!

Once I finished cutting down a considerable section of enemy territory, I pushed, wacked, and carefully carried much of the bulk of bramble piles out of the detection zone so as to further my investigation. Next, I continued to metal detect until I would run out of real estate once again. During that long and laborious process, I scanned lots more trash under the leaves that rested below their protective bramble-made shield. Every 30 seconds or so I would pick up a new target signal, stop to investigate, unearth the target with my hand digger, deposit the trash into my bag, pick up my machine again and resume detecting some more. It was a start, stop, and then start-up all over again process!

After I cut down that first large section of thorns and eventually finished scanning every square inch of that portion of ground (all to come up with nothing of importance), I again found myself wielding the heavy green and black Ryobi hedge trimmer, attacking the enemy before me like a Rambo type mercenary in the deep dense forest! While I was doing all of that work, I heard some opposing thoughts that constantly whispered into my ear: ‘What if all of this tedious and tough labor is all for nothing?” What if the ring never even made it into the woods and I am cutting, digging and detecting for absolutely zero to be recovered?’ Regardless of those inner reality remarks of doubt, I pushed on and continued the search with great perseverance.

Once again, I picked up my metal detector and began to search all over the second cleared area where the ‘throne of thorns’ held much of that real estate hostage for years upon years. I sadly concluded that the ring was still nowhere to be found in that zone. With much resilience, I picked up the trimmer after taking a break and did yet another large section of cutting so that I could get even farther into the woods and search more area below. As soon as I cleared that third large section of territory, I knew that this would have to be my final area to investigate. There was just way too much overgrowth to continue any further. It was getting to that point where I could not see an end to all of the madness! The bramble was everywhere and weaved itself around everything! The thorn ‘hives’ and coverings stretched another 30 feet into the woods and even farther over to the left. I felt that what I had cleared up to that point was suffice in relationship to where the ring could have bounced and how far it would have potentially traveled after hitting the curb. This would be my final attempt to recover Trinity’s lost ring before having to call it quits. The thorn area that I cut in total was 30 feet wide, 15 feet deep into the woods and 7 feet in the air in every direction.

For the last time, I picked up my metal detector, placed my headphones on and continued playing the role of trash collector as I discovered more and more old cans, wrappers, bottles with metal tops and then some. Finally, after about two hours of searching and cutting, I got a signal which registered as an 8 and 9 indicator numbers on the detector screen. I had been getting those great signals the entire time out there because most of the targets ended up being little pieces of aluminum foil which mirrored that very range of numbers that I had been looking for. In all honesty, I didn’t think much of this particular target that was clearly buried beneath the ground. I was getting pretty tired at that point and every target that I was digging up would end up being the same disappointment – another similar piece of trash that I had already found in so many other places. Yet, I was forced to dig every single one of them up because I knew that the jewel would have to be slightly below the surface after nearly two years missing. My guess was that the ring buried itself to a depth of an inch or two at most. I dug up the target thinking it was just going to be yet another piece of trash. I took out my pinpointer and placed it down into the hole to isolate the exact spot where there object was positioned in the dirt. Once I zeroed in on the target, I continued to dig and then repeated the process by testing the hole with the handheld detector one more time. To my surprise, the metal object was no longer in the 4 to 5 inch pit that I had created. I then scanned the ground around the hole to see where the target ended up. Eventually, my pinpointer honed in on a particular clump of mud that contained whatever this mystery object happened to be. Almost immediately I saw just a tiny glimpse of something that looked gold in color, packed in dirt, and was completely surrounded by mud and portions of broken up leaves. My heart raced as I saw what appeared to be a gold ring with little stones going completely around the halo shaped object’s equator! I had found Trinity’s ring! I couldn’t believe it! I truly could not face the reality of what I was looking at!

The whole moment was completely surreal as I was not prepared for what had just transpired! Every trip I made, every task I took, every tool I used to bring me to this very spot was all worth the relentless efforts that I made! I continuously thanked the Lord for being there with me and guiding me through this entire journey until reaching this pinnacle of excitement and success! I was beyond moved by the moment and quite humbled by the fact that God allowed me to be the one to find the treasure and ultimately help this very kind young lady with recovering her precious “circle of love”! I was so happy that the sought after keepsake did in fact make it into the woods! All of my time talking and texting Trinity about the search, all of my commuting to the search site, all of my detecting, digging and demolition was not in vain! Everything I did was propelled based on a hope that the ring had in fact made it over the curb after hitting the asphalt! What a deep feeling of satisfaction I experienced out there in the woods with my knees to the ground!

As soon as I cleaned off the very pretty ring, I held it up in front of my eyes and I thought to myself, ‘To think that I am the first person to touch this ring since it was thrown by Trinity’s hand 2 years earlier. This was the very piece of jewelry that was bought by Francisco to represent his promise unto marriage one day, the same gift presented somewhere special as a surprise for the young man’s sweetheart and ultimately worn for several months before the unfortunate crisis took place with the couple.

The entire search that day was conducted from 2 pm until 4:30 pm. Before packing my things up, I measured the “crime scene” to see how many feet this little guy traveled, starting from the very spot where Trinity threw the keepsake and ending at its eventual resting place where I discovered the jewel. In total, it traveled 52 feet. Of that distance, it traveled approximately 17 feet into the woods surrounded by a forest of thorns and thistles!

Once I finished taking photos and video, I called Trinity to see if she could come out to the site so that I could share the big surprise with her in person. Unfortunately, she was not able to make it out to the high school due to her schedule. However, we eventually did a video conference call together and that’s when Trinity was absolutely blown away by the news of my discovery! She did not know that I had found the promise ring prior to setting up the phone call! When I finally did the ring reveal it was a moment that I will never forget! Trinity began to cry and the emotions of excitement and gratitude began to pour from within her heart and flow from her eyes! I could not have been happier for the newlywed bride! She couldn’t stop thanking me and asking me questions about where I ultimately found the irreplaceable gem! What a fantastic time that it was for me to share such an unexpected happy report! I never gave up and I kept on believing until the very end!

The story finally came to an encouraging conclusion when Trinity and I reunited back at her former high school for one last time so I could personally hand her the ring that she so desperately wanted back in her possession! I had the pleasure and joy to orient my client over to the hole where I found the ring buried, as well as showed the young lady all of the bramble that I had cut down to gain access into that last piece of real estate where I eventually found the keepsake! My client was amazed! That very sad chapter that took place two years earlier had finally come to an end. The memories of adversity experienced on that particular day in the parking lot were now replaced with smiles and celebration of redemption!

I was so excited to find this ring for Trinity! It definitely turned out to be a « legendary story » because nobody really knew for sure whether or not the ring ever made it into the woods, even though in the end Trinity was correct that she did in fact hear the jewel hit the leaves. Many of my clients believe they experienced one thing or another during the disappearance of their special item. However, sometimes in the end, we come to find out that the true reality of the situation paints a completely different picture once the search is completed. In this particular case, my client was not only correct about what had happened, but also Trinity did the courageous thing and hired a professional ring finder to attempt to solve this mystery. In the end, I was extremely proud to profess these two final words…“Case Closed”!

As a professional ring finder, you never know where the next phone call will take you. This story certainly takes the « wedding cake »! I received a phone call from a young lady who had just gotten married approximately 18 hours before I was contacted. Michaele, the newlywed bride, shared with me that she sadly could not be married with her wedding band because it had gotten lost sometime around the time of the wedding ceremony. Here is the backstory as to what happened leading up to the moment when I received Michaele’s call for help:

The Wheel of Time Book Renaissance-Style Book Which Michaele Used to Secure the Two Wedding Rings Within for Her Beautiful Wedding Ceremony

Prior to leaving for the wedding, the bride placed both wedding bands (hers and his) inside a special hollowed out renaissance style book which folds together and then secured by leather twine. It mainly was hard material and very flat (like a book that folded together). There was space between the two bindings to place the two marital keepsakes inside of it. Michaele knew that her husband-to-be, George, loved the book series called The Wheel of Time. This particular « ring holder » that she picked out to use for the wedding was actually a Wheel of Time online product. She thought that George would really appreciate something like this for the ceremony. It was quite creative of her to incorporate George’s sentiment with the series during their special moment when they would exchange rings.

Once the two « circles of love » were placed inside the flat book and the two bindings enclosed the jewelry, the item was tied with the renaissance-style cord attached to it. Lastly, Michaele took the Wheel of Time novelty and packaged it up for safe keeping in its original box. Then, the excited bride gathered up all of the rest of her things needed for the ceremony and finished preparing to leave for her wedding – one of the most special moments in her entire life!

On the way to the wedding, Michaele gave the « book of rings » to her Maid of Honor who had it safely secured inside a bag with some other items that were also taken to Fairwinds on the Severn Beach Club where the wedding ceremony would soon take place.

As soon as the bride’s car arrived at the wedding venue, the person driving the vehicle parked it a little ways down a dead end path just about 200 feet from the front of the club house to keep the bride out of view from guests arriving. Michaele waited in her coach until it was time to make her appearance just prior to the time when the bridal party was to be assembled for the processional. Meanwhile, the Maid of Honor made sure that everything was in place and that the box with the rings inside were secured in the bag up until it was time for Michaele to personally hand the renaissance-style « flat book » to the ring bearer (who was waiting at the bottom of the steps of the lovely gazebo where the wedding ceremony was about to begin).

Eventually, the bride was brought to the front of the club house. She exited the vehicle and almost immediately greeted the young and handsome ring bearer who was excited to participate in the unforgettable event. Michaele took the Wheel of Time book from within its box and handed it to the nervous boy. At that point everything was ready to begin. Within minutes the bride would soon be walking up some steps to the top of the gazebo and then across the long wooden floor where she would be greeted with smiles from her future husband George!

This is now the part in the story when the unexpected drama ensued. The entire wedding party including the bride and groom were assembled inside the gazebo and the time had finally come for the ring bearer to present the renaissance-style book. Then, it was to be opened so that the wedding rings would be revealed. As soon as the ring bearer presented the book to be opened, the Maid of Honor and Best Man moved forward to take the rings out of the book. The plan was for the two of them to hand the « symbols of love » to the bride and groom for the ring exchange to take place. To everyone’s shock and dismay, the Maid of Honor was able to retrieve George’s wedding band from the Wheel of Time book, but the Best Man could not find Michaele’s wedding band anywhere! It was gone! The Best Man looked again and again and he finally confirmed for certain that the wedding band had not made it down to the altar! Panic amongst the bride and groom along with the rest of the wedding party immediately set in. I believe the Maid of Honor went off looking for the lost sacred wedding band (to see if maybe the ring fell out of the ring bearer’s book someplace along the route he traveled). Sadly, the ceremony came to a sudden halt. Not only did the groomsmen and bridesmaids begin looking about, but also many of the wedding guests took flight to see if they could rescue the poor young lad out of the doghouse for supposedly losing one of the most important elements in almost every wedding around the world.

I don’t know how much time had passed before it was concluded that the bride’s wedding band could not be recovered, but at some point the decision was made to continue the ceremony without the precious keepsake. The groom’s mother kindly volunteered to loan her very own band as a temporary replacement for the one that tragically went missing. She quickly slid her ring off of her finger and happily handed it to George’s Best Man who then in turn gave it to the groom. George eventually placed the family heirloom upon his beautiful bride’s finger and Michaele did the same with her sweetheart’s irreplaceable keepsake as well.

Michaele was extremely disappointed that she was not married with her actual wedding band which was specifically designed by the jeweler to nest itself into place with her lovely engagement ring. Nonetheless, the wedding was absolutely magical according to what the bride told me. Following the wedding, everyone was still hunting around for the lost diamond band that had sadly missed its special moment during the ceremony. The Maid of Honor was the most upset out of everyone next to the bride because she was the one that was designated to make certain that the rings made it to the wedding and that the ring bearer was prepared and ready to march them down to the altar. The young lady kept looking in the original empty box that the Wheel of Time book had originally been secured in until the time that the ring bearer was given it to hold for the ceremony. There were guests looking on the road and studying the wooden cracks of the gazebo’s flooring hoping to spot the lost keepsake. Also, people were scanning the grass with their eyes and searching between rocks that were spread apart down by the water. The poor ring bearer began to cry as he was being interrogated by some of the relatives while the wedding pictures were being taken.

Approximately 30 people or more took interest in the treasure hunt for the lost wedding band following the wedding ceremony. Unfortunately, none of the family and friends (who had such passion to recover such a priceless piece of jewelry) were able to solve the mystery of the disappearance of Michaele’s wedding band. At some point the wedding party and guests had to return to their cars and head for the reception. It was time for everyone to switch gears and begin to celebrate the covenant that had recently been made between Michaele and George.

It wasn’t until the next morning that the bride spent a little time looking online, searching for a metal detecting service in the Severna Park, Maryland area. She wanted to see if maybe a professional could find her lost keepsake (if it hadn’t already been found by someone walking around the clubhouse following the ceremony). THE RING FINDERS website popped up on her phone and immediately Michaele searched for a local metal detectorist who might be able to help her recover the special band. My contact information became available to the bride and within a few minutes (while she was getting ready for a special post-wedding luncheon with close family and friends) the young lady had me gripped while I listened to her very dramatic and most disappointing details regarding the disappearance of her beloved wedding band.

As soon as Michaele finished giving me all of the details regarding what took place during her special day, I was struck with such compassion for the young lady and I told her that I would do everything in my power to recover her lost wedding band – the « symbol of love » that never made it down the isle. I told her that I would adjust my schedule for the day so that I could focus just on this particular search which was extremely time sensitive. Though my client shared that there was not going to be another wedding or other special event at that particular venue that day, we didn’t know if people in the neighborhood or other visitors might end up eyeballing the ring if it was lying somewhere in plain sight. The odds of that were very slim simply because there were dozens of people looking on the ground, the front walkway, in the grass and all over the wood flooring of the clubhouse gazebo.

Michaele was so very grateful for my passion and excitement to attempt to redeem the situation as best as one could under the circumstances. I would give it all I had to try and find that which meant so very much to the new bride. As soon as we said goodbye, the newlywed couple began to host their post-wedding brunch while I started to prepare for my own visit to the very place where the couple « tied the knot » less than 24 hours earlier.

In getting ready for the search, I knew that this particular project was a very special and unique type of recovery operation. With a bit of creativity and color in my thoughts, I asked myself what would be appropriate to wear to the former wedding venue. Normally I would just have on some jeans or shorts depending on the weather outside. For this particular special circumstance I decided to dress formal for the occasion! I wore my full black tie tuxedo suit! This included a tuxedo shirt, studs, cufflinks, tuxedo pants, tuxedo patent leather shoes, a vest and of course my James Bond style tuxedo jacket! Because of how unique this particular story happened to be, I felt it would be fun to be festive and do the entire search in a tuxedo outfit! An absolute first for me to do this! I wasted no time in getting ready and within 45 minutes I was in the car driving to Severna Park, Maryland.

I arrived down by the water of this most serene environment within an hour of leaving my home. As I was pulling in to the private property of Fairwinds on the Severn Beach Club, I could see the clubhouse with its marvelous gazebo stretching over most of the building. I immediately could see why the couple wanted to get married in such a lovely environment with an absolutely stunning backdrop. The scene out on the water was beyond spectacular!

As I imagined the whole dramatic moment when people started looking everywhere for the missing ring, I took notice of the front drive where the bride was brought to the front of the walkway (which then takes one up a flight of steps to the gazebo). I observed the long grassy-like bushes on the left and much grass to the right of the short walkway which were potential spots where the ring bearer could have opened up the book and accidentally dropped the ring. That was one of the theories that the bride, groom and some of the wedding party had discussed.

After parking my vehicle in front of the clubhouse where Michaele was dropped off prior to walking towards the altar, I got out my metal detecting gear and began to look over the entire property. The first thing that I wanted to do was to check all of the gaps between the gazebo’s wooden flooring. I took note of where the ring could have slipped down below the planks. In my estimation there were just a couple of places where this was even possible and so I chose to put aside any additional investigating of that area unless it was necessary to take another look later on.

My next location to focus on was the grassy lawn. I metal detected the left side of the front walk and there was nothing found at all but little pieces of scrap metal. On the right side of the front walkway was a much larger strip of grass. Nobody knew whether or not the ring bearer had strolled around on the grass while waiting to be called for the processional walk. Therefore, it was essential that I carefully scan the lawn for the ring.

Slowly and methodically I grid searched for the very small and dainty wedding band that had never reached Michaele’s finger on the day of her wedding. Because the ring was so very petite, there was not a lot of white gold to detect. That is why I needed to go slow and carefully analyze every potential signal that I would come across as I moved in perfectly straight lines. Unfortunately, there was no jewelry to be found in that location. It was then time to move to the next search section.

I wasn’t looking forward to this next leg of the « investigation » but it had to be done. I began using my metal detector and my handheld pinpointer to search between the rocks and crevices located below the clubhouse steps and vestibule. I needed to be certain that the band did not fall between the gaps in the flooring and end up down below near the water. Luckily, gaps that were wide enough to accommodate a « halo » this small were pretty much non-existent in that area. There were only a couple of spots that I needed to check out. My conclusion was that the young boy did not lose the ring in that area while walking up the steps and turning left towards the gazebo to complete his march in the direction of where the bridal party stood.

When I was certain of one more place where I knew the ring wasn’t hidden, I moved on to yet another piece of the property. I metal detected over a section of white stones and rocks that were in a flower bed located to the left of the front walkway and adjacent to the front driveway. With the ring being made out of white gold, it would blend in perfectly with the stones and small rocks spread out in that particular piece of landscaping. I scanned everywhere and over everything in that region (including under all of the bushes and shrubs) and still I came up with nothing.

Truly I say that I was getting a bit perplexed by all of my strikeouts up to that point! In recounting what transpired with the loss of the ring approximately 21 hours earlier, it didn’t make sense as to why I didn’t find the ring or anyone else during the time of the big event. It wasn’t found in the obvious hiding places such as in the grass, between the rocks near the water under the clubhouse, or laying with the flower bed stones, pebbles or under the bushes. This meant that there were only 4 possibilities remaining on the table that would explain why I hadn’t found the jewel up to that point: One, I was negligent and happened to miss hitting the ring while searching. Two, the wedding bridal party and guests missed spotting the band in plain sight and then later on someone else came by and pocketed the keepsake. Three, the ring never made it out of the bride’s vehicle and somehow it came out of the box that the Wheel of Time book was placed inside and landed on the floor of the car (Note: the Maid of Honor did check the seats and floor of the vehicle and found nothing). And four, the ring was lost somewhere on the front driveway (which I hadn’t detected yet) before the book was presented to the ring bearer.

Well, in reviewing all of those possibilities, there were only two of them that I could follow-up with. Before detecting all of the areas that I had previously completed to see if I missed it the first go around, I took the most logical choice: scan the section of asphalt driveway in front of the clubhouse. Though I looked earlier with my eyes all around the concrete and found nothing when I first arrived, I knew very well that one’s vision can find it hard to adjust to parking lot surfaces, driveways and paved paths. I had to be certain that I didn’t miss the treasure anywhere out front. How the ring could have fallen out of the outer box that held the renaissance-style book and then slip out of the tied shut novelty item was beyond my comprehension. Yet, I’ve seen plenty of unexplainable situations take place during my years of ring finding!

Immediately I picked up my machine and started to detect the driveway path in front of my vehicle and behind it. No white gold was discovered. I then put my gear down, retrieved my car keys and reversed the vehicle back some distance away from where I still needed to scan the section that was previously under my car. Next, I returned to that space where the vehicle was in the way and I began hitting that very last area in front of the wedding venue.

Just like with the pavement that I detected minutes earlier, I systematically searched the small remaining patch of asphalt. Then, to my greatest surprise, my detector screen and headphones indicated that a potential target had been picked up on the surface of the driveway. The indicator number showing up on the machine was in the low range which sometimes points to the possibility that I have found a small gold item! I immediately looked down towards the pavement and there it was… Michaele’s lost wedding band that had never made it to the wedding altar! I actually found it! Truly I couldn’t believe it! I looked everywhere and to my utter amazement the little white gold diamond ring had been laying on the asphalt that entire time!

This moment that I was experiencing was beyond thrilling for me! As I went to pick up the precious band that nested perfectly with Michaele’s engagement ring, I was feeling so much excitement about being able to recover the lost jewel. But in addition to that, I was extremely satisfied to be able to solve the mystery as to how the ring had actually gotten lost in the first place and where it had been hiding (or actually laying) all along!

In the Middle of the Venue’s Front Driveway Beheld Michaele’s Lost Wedding Band the Entire Time!

Michaele’s « symbol of love » was found in the middle of the driveway, approximately 5 feet away from the beginning of the front walkway leading to the clubhouse! From where I had found the precious jewel, it was obvious what had happened to it just prior to the wedding processional. While still in the car, the bride had taken the Wheel of Time flat book (which held the two rings inside of it) out of its outer box. She held onto the renaissance-style novelty item as Michaele made her way out of her « coach » and over to where the ring bearer was standing. Just as the fairy princess exited the vehicle, at that very moment the ring must have then slipped out of one of the sides of the book and fell to the pavement! This meant that the ring bearer never had any involvement with the disappearance of the wedding band! It had been lost prior to the little man ever receiving the « book of rings »! And all that time, no one ever saw the white gold diamond ring just laying there in the middle of the driveway! The reason that I didn’t see the ring from the beginning of my search was because the entire time that I was at the site, my car was parked directly on top of the little jewel! I should have never parked so close to the crime scene!

Now that I had successfully recovered the lost band, it was time to surprise the bride with the amazing news! Of course, I found the ring while wearing my tuxedo, so I figured it was only appropriate to remarry the couple with my black tie outfit on as well! The groom finally had the opportunity of placing the bride’s wedding band on her finger and I wasn’t about to miss that moment for the world!

One Can Easily See How the Petite Piece of Gold Blended Well With the Asphalt Driveway Surrounding the Wedding Band!

After a few failed attempts to track the couple down on the phone and another failed attempt to surprise them with the ring in hand under another gazebo next to their house, I eventually was able to make contact with the bride and groom who were just about to leave a restaurant where they were at with family and friends. Michaele and George were completely in shock that I had found the ring! They just couldn’t believe it! They told some of their family who were nearby to them and they too were amazed at the outcome! George and Michaele were so grateful for my work and tears of joy rolled down the cheek of the newlywed bride!

Excitedly, I asked the couple if they would like to gather up whoever was available (including the Best Man and Maid of Honor) and meet me back at the Fairwinds on the Severn Beach Club for a Part 2 Re-take of the wedding ceremony! This go around however, the bride would be receiving her beloved wedding band for the first time – the very ring that her groom George was to have slipped onto her finger almost a day earlier!

Believe it or not, it was still less than 24 hours from the time the couple had gotten married! It was our goal to see if we could conduct a second wedding just before the bride and groom made it to their official first-full day-of-marriage mark! The couple rushed back to the clubhouse where we quickly assembled under the gazebo at the very place where the wedding had taken place just short of a day earlier! George’s father took the new role as the groom’s Best Man and Michaele’s new mother-in-law took on the role as Maid of Honor. I had the distinct honor to be the couple’s marriage officiant!

Metal Detectorist and Officiant Brian Rudolph Conducts a Second Wedding Ceremony with the Bridal Couple and Their Parents, Completing the « Exchange of Rings » Portion of the Service with the Very Wedding Band that Rudolph Himself was Able to Recover for Michaele the Bride!

What a very special moment it was for all of us to fill in that one missing moment that never took place just less than a day earlier! With processional music playing on my smartphone, the bride walked down the isle just as she did once before and again her handsome groom awaited her arrival as his proud father stood along side him and I to the right of George. Michaele’s new Maid of Honor stood to my right allowing just the right amount of space for the bride to take her very much anticipated position!

The Bride, Groom, Their Parents and Brian Rudolph Jointly Celebrate Not Only the Return of the Lost Ring but Also the Completion of Their Initial Wedding Ceremony Now That Michaele’s Beautiful Wedding Ring Was Finally Included in the « Exchange of Rings » Portion of the Wedding Service Officiated by Rudolph Himself!

I can’t express how amazing that moment was for me to be able to conduct a second ceremony for the newlywed couple, leading the bride and groom in the « Exchange of Rings » portion that was never fully completed the day before! For me personally it was an extremely powerful time to witness George placing that special wedding band on Michaele’s finger – yes, the very same one that I was called upon to search for and which I successfully recovered for George’s fairy tale bride! All of us that were there that afternoon agreed that we will always feel a certain special connection with one another through what we experienced together at George and Michaele’s wedding venue less than a day after their initial blissful wedding ceremony which they will no doubt cherish for a lifetime…and then some!

Men’s Family Heirloom Wedding Band…FOUND with Metal Detector in Mount Olive, Alabama!

Christina McCree – Ring Finder for northern Alabama and southern/middle Tennessee…call or text ASAP, anytime 24/7…610-504-6135

Just before lunchtime on Saturday (March 19th, 2022), I received a call from Daniel stating that he had lost his white gold wedding band two days prior while laying hay and seed in his front and back yard.  He normally wears a silicone wedding band, but he let his daughter play with it and it came up missing.  The ring that was lost while doing the yardwork was actually passed down from his great grandfather and had been in the family for more than 80 years!  Daniel was disappointed about losing the wedding band and really wanted it back, so that it could continue on in his family.  Daniel had tried looking with an older Garrett metal detector, but realized that it couldn’t detect white gold when he scanned his wife’s wedding ring.

When I received Daniel’s call, I was about to have a quick bite to eat and go metal detecting with a friend.  I’m always happy to help someone look for a lost item and prefer that over a hobby hunt any day!  I made a quick change of plans.  I ate, grabbed some extra gear I might need for the search, and was on my way to Mount Olive, Alabama!

I met Daniel and he showed me the area in the front yard where he was laying the hay and seed.  I started searching the hay area with my Minelab Equinox 800.  The first two targets I checked ended up being trash or too deep.  The next signal I had was lower on the ID scale, but came in shallow and had a solid target tone.  I bent down to check it, scraped away some of the hay, and spotted a ring!  Daniel hadn’t noticed, because he was nervously pacing.  I said, “hey Daniel, I think we got it!”  He came over and said, “that’s it!”  Pure happiness, relief, and the moment every Ring Finder loves!

Daniel called his mom, Paula, to tell her the good news.  She arrived shortly after and gave me a big hug and thank you!  Paula told me that she knew about The Ring Finders, because she had actually witnessed Ring Finder, Allen Zenker, recover a ring from the ocean in Sanibel Island, Florida.  So, when Daniel called her and said that he had lost his ring, she knew exactly where to turn!

I praise God for another successful ring recovery!  I’m so happy that this heirloom wedding band gets to remain in the family and continue on its story.  Proud to be a member of The Ring Finders, and looking forward to the next adventure…

Metal Detecting Lost Ring in Snow… Found by Ring Finder in Timonium, Maryland

  • from Washington (District of Columbia, United States)

Mike’s Extremely Handsome 14 Karat Gold Wedding Band Saved from Below the Snow by Ring Finder Brian Rudolph!

Mike of Timonium, Maryland Beyond Excited for the Successful Wedding Ring Search and Recovery Conducted by Member of THE RING FINDERS, Metal Detectorist Brian Rudolph!

Brian Rudolph, Lost Item Recovery Specialist (Land, Water, Sand, Snow, Leaves, Houses & Vehicles) Will Find Your Lost Keepsake! Call ASAP (301) 466-8644!

I received a call from a young man named Mike who lost his 14 karat yellow gold wedding band during a Baltimore, Maryland snowstorm that took place the day before. He wasn’t sure where he lost his beloved keepsake, but he thought that there was a good chance that it went missing around the time that he was walking his dog. Mike’s theory was that because of the cold temperatures, his fingers shrunk and at some point the ring must have slipped off of his hand and buried itself in the snow somewhere near his apartment complex. After many attempts to find his missing keepsake, the gentleman looked online and found the finest metal detecting specialist directory called THE RING FINDERS. He was pleasantly surprised to discover that there was a detectorist he could contact right in his “neck of the woods”! That’s when I got the call for help!

I remember it to be a very cold wintry night when I arrived at Mike’s apartment complex in the Baltimore area. There was still approximately five inches of snow on the ground. However, that wonderful white stuff was not going to deter me from finding my client’s lost ring if it was still out there. The two of us met out in the parking lot and Mike immediately took me from the front entrance of his apartment all the way down the sidewalk to where it veered off to the right between two buildings where the gentleman was walking his dog the day before. He then guided me into a clearing where there were a couple of large sized pine trees and a bunch of hills to the left and right of us. One of the declines went down into the woods and then there was another area where the hill traveled up towards another section of real estate owned by the apartment community.

Within about five minutes or so, Mike showed me all of the places that he walked around with his canine friend, as well as where he threw some sticks down the hill towards the woods behind his complex. Once I got all of the intel that I needed to begin my search, my client returned to his apartment while I got out my wagon and loaded it up with all of the necessary metal detecting gear to get the “investigation” on its way.

The first thing that I did was lay down my grid tapes over the snow so that I had five lanes to scan over. If I didn’t find the wedding band in that particular section of the property, I would then move the tapes over and metal detect another 25 feet of territory. Since there were sections that required me to move about and scan where the gridlines were not situated, I made sure to detect for jewelry up on the hill and around some other out-of-the-way spots that were on the other side of the two pine trees.

When nothing showed up in those random places that I first checked out, I started swinging my detector coil down the first grid lane working my way towards the other end. Next, I started my way back towards the other and of the second grid Lane which took me towards one of the trees that was facing away from the apartment buildings. I continued this pattern on the next two or three lanes, making certain that I didn’t miss any possible targets that were below almost a half foot of snow. Every so often I stopped and knelt down into the winter wonderland ice and checked out a potential target or two, but each time it ended up being some piece of trash that was on the ground surface just below the snow.

After about 20 minutes of metal detecting, as the weather got much colder with a drastic chill in the air, I was making my way back towards one of the pine trees (about ten or fifteen feet from the edge of the apartment building) when I got a fantastic signal on my metal detector. Instantly, I knew that I had found Mike’s ring due to the type of target tone I heard and the way it was showing up on my machine’s screen. It told me that this was definitely in the range of what Mike’s 14 karat yellow gold would come up as. I had no doubt in my mind that I had found his ring and I got extremely excited as I knelt down to check out what was below the snow.

I can’t tell you how wonderful it was to anticipate that I had discovered Mike’s beloved sentimental treasure! He could have lost it anywhere around those places that he showed me earlier and this search could have ended up being extremely complicated and perhaps even unsuccessful. While he was tossing the sticks towards the woods, the ring could have easily slipped off his finger at that point and flew down the back hill towards the woods. And so, to think that this was most likely the wedding band that I was searching for, it truly encouraged me so very much as I would not have to wonder anymore if the search was going to be more complicated than I originally hoped for!

Immediately, I took out my handheld metal detector called a pinpointer and I waived it around the area that my other metal detector was tuning into the mysterious metallic object. Then, with my winter gloves on, I removed a few inches of snow that was covering my target, and to my great excitement and relief, my eyes beheld a glimpse of part of the halo of the very handsome 14 karat yellow gold wedding band that Mike so desperately wanted back on his finger! I found it! I truly found my client’s missing ring buried in the snow about 4 inches below the surface! There in the very cold wintry evening hours, my face lit up with the most gigantic smile knowing that my client was going to be thrilled and grateful for what I was able to accomplish that night on the side of Mike’s apartment complex!

Once I brushed off the remaining ice from the precious piece of sentimental metal, I called the owner and asked if he could return outside for a moment. That is when I gave my client one of the best surprises of his life! Within minutes of Mike meeting me around the side of the property where I discovered the band, I instantly added another smile out there in the freezing cold as I shared the fantastic news that I had found Mike’s beloved ring!

After the two of us hugged and celebrated the return of the irreplaceable keepsake, we happily set our goodbyes as the wind began to pick up and we both could feel ourselves getting colder and colder by the minute. What a wonderful experience I had that snowy night in helping this gentleman recover such an important piece of property in his life. Mike said that he was so very pleased that he chose to entrust me with this particular search, and he would let everybody know that the finest metal detectorist directory in the world was waiting for each and every person out there who needed assistance in finding their own lost item(s) just like what Mike experienced himself!

Women’s Lost Gold Ring…FOUND by Ring Finder in Muscle Shoals, Alabama!

  • from Huntsville (Alabama, United States)

Christina McCree – Ring Finder for northern Alabama and southern/middle Tennessee…call or text ASAP, anytime 24/7…610-504-6135

On Tuesday (February, 22nd, 2022), I received a text message from Amy stating that she had lost a very important family ring on her farm in Muscle Shoals, AL.  Amy had been filling a tractor with diesel fuel.  She got some of the fuel on her hand and it caused her ring to slide around.  She took her ring off and put it in her pocket.  Amy then used the tractor to move some dirt and debris around from point A to point B and C.  After she finished the yard work, her ring was no longer in her pocket.

Amy mentioned that she had actually lost her ring around the beginning of December.  She thoroughly searched the area she was working and even bought a metal detector, but was unable to find her ring.  After a couple of months had passed, Amy thought that she might never see her ring again, but she then she came across The Ring Finders Metal Detecting Service!  Amy was reading a book that told a story of how a ring was lost during a wedding ceremony.  Someone mentioned that they should call a “Ring Finder”.  This prompted Amy to go on Google and was soon led to The Ring Finders website and discovered that I was listed nearby.  We scheduled a search for Sunday, February 27th, when we were both off from our regular day jobs.

I met Amy at her farm in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, early on Sunday morning.  Amy proceeded to show me where she was working and exactly what she was doing at each location.  I told Amy that she could go inside and warm up while I conducted my grid search of the area.  It had been raining almost nonstop for the past week.  Thankfully, the rain held up long enough for me to conduct a search.

I started my grid search with my Minelab Equinox 800 in front of the shed where Amy had been refueling her tractor.  Just a few minutes in and I received a solid tone in the women’s gold range.  As I moved my coil to the side, my eyes locked onto the gleam of a ring just barely sticking out from the grass.  What a beautiful sight!  I didn’t move the ring, because I wanted to show Amy just how easily rings hide.  Our eyes play tricks on us and it’s almost impossible to find a ring with just eyesight alone.  I snapped a few pictures and went to knock on the door and tell Amy the good news.

Amy couldn’t believe how fast I found the ring!  I took her to the spot and gave her the honor of picking up her gorgeous 10k gold ring from where it’s been hiding these past few months.  Amy was so happy and thankful that she had her ring back!  She gave me a big hug and I could feel the stress melt away.  These returns are really one of the best feelings in the world and one of the most rewarding things I’ve ever done!  I thank God for another successful ring recovery!

After the search, Amy and I were chatting for a while.  She told me that she enjoyed reading my blog posts about my prior recoveries.  Amy then said that she really hoped that her story would turn out the same way…a happy ending.  Well, it sure did!

If you or someone you know has lost a ring, jewelry, or other metal item, please contact a member of The Ring Finders.

Metal Detecting Lost Platinum Wedding Band in Grass…Found at Arlington, Virginia Park

  • from Washington (District of Columbia, United States)

Mark’s Beloved Platinum Wedding Band Recovered by Member of THE RING FINDERS Brian Rudolph at Arlington Virginia Park

Mark Excitedly Holding Up His Sentimental Keepsake After Detectorist Rudolph Returns the Wedding Ring to the Happy Owner!

Brian Rudolph, Lost Item Recovery Specialist (Land, Water, Sand, Snow, Leaves, Houses & Vehicles) Will Find Your Lost Keepsake! Call ASAP (301) 466-8644!

I received a call from a gentleman named Mark who had lost his wedding band at Fort C.F. Smith Park in Arlington, Virginia the night before he contacted me. He said he was with his wife Padma, their daughter, and some friends enjoying a dinner picnic on a blanket celebrating the Hindu festival of lights called Diwali. This is one of the major festivals celebrated by not only Hindus, but also Jains and Sikhs. The festival usually lasts five days and is celebrated during the Hindu lunisolar month Kartika.

Just as the family was about to leave the park, Mark realized that his beloved platinum wedding band was missing from his finger. It was ironic because he had been thinking earlier on during their social time on the blanket just how careful he needed to be with his ring because he noticed how loose it was. Unfortunately, during the next hour or so of searching in the dark with phone flashlights, neither Mark nor his wife Padma or any of the others with them could find the missing sentimental keepsake.

Mark and his wife left the park empty-handed and drove home with the plan of returning the next morning to continue their search. They also ordered a metal detector that would be arriving in the next day or two. If Mark could not find the band, he would return for a third visit with the detector in order to scan more of the grass.

Sometime that same night before the couple headed to bed, Mark decided that perhaps utilizing a professional metal detectorist in the Arlington, Virginia area would help better his chances for recovering the lost keepsake. That was about the time when Mark discovered the elite international metal detectorist directory called THE RING FINDERS. Like most, he was not aware that such a directory existed and this was his best opportunity to call upon an expert in the field of finding lost rings. I was contacted at that point and immediately we scheduled for me to conduct a search the following day.

As the sun was rising in the east the next morning, I started my drive to Fort C.F. Smith Park in Arlington, Virginia. I couldn’t wait to start searching for the platinum piece! Mark gave me information as to where he and his group were sitting on the grass. When I arrived, we had a video conference call so that the gentleman could guide me around and show me where they were parked, the places where his family walked and played and most importantly – the locations where everyone was picnicking.

Mark shared with me a few important details regarding not only where he moved about, but also the fact that he could have lost the ring while playing with his daughter. He put her on his back a few times and twirled her around on the grass. He also told me that he had collected the trash from the picnic area and placed the bags alongside the trash can because it was completely full with garbage. He was pretty certain that the bags would still be there in the morning when I arrived. Thankfully, Mark was correct – all of the trash that he had collected the night before was still in the bag resting beside the park’s garbage can.

Once I got completely oriented, I started metal detecting on and around the parking lot. I wanted to make sure that the most vulnerable areas where people could eyeball a ring would be scanned over first. When nothing turned up, I searched around the grass near where Mark and Padma parked their car. Next, I went through their bag of trash to make certain that the loose fitting band didn’t end up inside with the throwaways. Still, I did not find the cherished piece of jewelry.

After exhausting all of my efforts in the areas that I mentioned above, I was quite confident that unless the ring had ended up on the parking lot concrete and was picked up by someone, the wedding band most likely slipped off of Mark’s finger somewhere on the grassy area where they ate or played. That was my final section of the park that needed to be searched and most likely where the ring got lost.

So, I started my grid lines on the grass from the main park building that was set back a bit from the rest of the lawn, all the way over to a huge old tree that was located more to the center of the estate grounds. In minutes, I would be detecting over the exact spot where the group had been picnicking on their blanket.

During my first few grid line passes I did get a few decent targets to analyze, but nothing good enough to be a surface find. I kept at it until perhaps I was half way across my fifth grid line or so (approximately fifteen feet away from the giant tree), when all of a sudden I got the perfect signal popping on my machine! There was a certain skipping tone that sounded off in my headphones and I was quite certain that I had found what I had been commissioned to recover. I knelt down on the grass and with my handheld detector, I carefully scanned that section of grass where the target was first heard. Suddenly, there it was! Hiding under the many blades of grass, I discovered the shiny platinum wedding ring! There it was all along! Just feet from where Mark, Padma and their daughter hung out to celebrate Diwali with their friends, I discovered that very special, irreplaceable keepsake!

I could not have been more happy for Mark! It was such a gratifying experience to check out all of the possible places where the ring may have ended up, and then to find it in the last possible section of real estate in that park – it was exhilarating!

Because I was there at the park without my client, I set up another video conference with Mark and it was then that I had some fun surprising him with the fantastic news! He could not have been more happy to find out that I was able to successfully recover the lost ring! He said that he was additionally excited to return the metal detector that was expected to arrive sometime in the early afternoon that same day!

When I finished up on the phone with Mark, I packed up my gear and headed towards my vehicle. The whole way back to Maryland was just a wonderful experience reflecting on how successful the morning had ended up! I believe it was later that day that I had the opportunity of personally returning the ring to Mark. We shook hands, took some pictures together and then parted ways once and for all. He could not stop thanking me and was so appreciative of what I was able to accomplish at the park! My client was beyond grateful that I was able to preserve such a special story that was reflective of that very moment when Padma placed the platinum “halo” upon her husband-to-be’s finger on their very special wedding day many years earlier!

Lost Gold and Diamond Engagement Ring in Olney, Maryland…Found by Ring Finder

  • from Washington (District of Columbia, United States)

Lauren’s Beautiful Diamond Engagement Ring Recovered by Member of THE RING FINDERS, Brian Rudolph!

Lauren Happily Holding Two Prized Possessions – Her Beautiful Sentimental Keepsake and Her Treasured Mother Who Sheds Tears of Joy Just Minutes After Ring Finder, Brian Rudolph of Maryland Recovers Her Daughter’s Lost Ring!

Brian Rudolph, Lost Item Recovery Specialist (Land, Water, Sand, Snow, Leaves, Houses & Vehicles) Will Find Your Lost Keepsake! Call ASAP (301) 466-8644!

I received a call from a young lady named Lauren who was deeply distressed about losing her 14 karat white gold and diamond engagement ring. There was a 1 carat diamond in the center encircled by diamonds around it and additional rows of diamonds that were set down each side of the band. Lauren was in the kitchen preparing a marinated chicken dish for the evening supper when she decided to take off all three of her rings and place them in her pajama pants pocket for safe keeping. Included in the bunch of jewelry was: the engagement ring, wedding band and a miscellaneous special ring that Lauren liked to wear.

After the meal was prepared for cooking, the young lady went out the front door of her Olney, Maryland home to take her dog out for a quick walk around the front lawn. About fifteen minutes later, Lauren returned inside the house and at some point she remembered that she had not retrieved her rings to place them back on her fingers. When she pulled out the group of gold bands, only two out of three rings were present! The engagement ring was missing! Lauren panicked and immediately began searching for the lost treasure. She headed back outside and looked everywhere for the precious keepsake. Unfortunately, it didn’t turn up in any of the places where she retraced her steps.

When Lauren initially couldn’t find her beloved diamond engagement ring, she still wouldn’t stop her efforts to try to recover the sentimental piece. First, she ordered a metal detector that would arrive the next day. Then, Lauren went out with a flashlight in the middle of the night and scanned the yard and front patio for the little one, hoping to see a sparkle somewhere out there on the ground. When that didn’t work, the desperate wife returned into the house and checked the trash to see if somehow the ring ended up in the garbage can with all of the other throwaways. Still, one of Lauren’s most treasured possessions was still not found.

The next day, the metal detector arrived and Lauren and her husband Jordon immediately got to work in assembling the machine and began detecting the lawn as best as they could. Lauren mentioned to me later on that they had no idea how to calibrate the detector in order to pick up the particular type of metal that they were looking for. The reason why they weren’t sure if they were using the detector correctly was because they tested another ring of Lauren’s and it did not register on the metal detector’s screen. It was then that they realized that they needed to contact a professional who was familiar with this type of search and who would be an expert in using metal detecting equipment.

The couple looked online and found the elite international metal detectorist directory called THE RING FINDERS. Lauren and Jordan were pleasantly surprised to find out that I, Brian Rudolph, provided metal detecting services in Olney, Maryland! Moments later I received the call requesting my assistance!

Between the time that Lauren started searching for her beloved engagement ring until I received a call from her asking me for help, she and her husband Jordon had searched for the piece of jewelry for over 4 hours! They were completely done with trying to find the ring on their own. Also, physically and emotionally, this was a very difficult time for the two of them. Lauren shared with me that Jordan was suffering from a major car accident that took place just days before the ring went missing. He was driving down a street and as he was crossing a four-way intersection, someone went through a red light and smashed their vehicle directly into Jordan’s car. His pelvis was fractured in multiple places causing unbearable suffering and despair. Their vehicle was destroyed and the paperwork was completely out of control in dealing with the insurance companies and attorneys that had to get involved in the process. Losing this irreplaceable diamond ring was just another brick in the wall of disappointment and sadness for the tested couple.

Once I heard all of the facts regarding the disappearance of the engagement ring and all of the hardship and adversities that this couple had been going through in the past week, I was determined to recover Lauren‘s lost ring in order to bring at least a little bit of relief back to their household. The young lady was extremely appreciative of my passion to help as well being able to come over the very next day.

On the day of the search, I arrived sometime in the late afternoon hours. I couldn’t wait to help this family recover Lauren’s lost ring. Once I greeted the young lady in despair, she showed me where she walked the dog towards the front of the home. Then, Lauren took me around the porch and over to the right side of the driveway (facing towards the street). I followed her over to the mailbox where she said she had retrieved some mail prior to returning back inside the house with her dog. I was hoping that the ring did not end up in the street when she had opened up the mailbox. However, I felt much better when I asked her if she reached into her pocket to pull out her cell phone near the mailbox and she believed that she did not reach for the device at that time.

Once we covered all of the territory where Lauren had moved around outside, I returned to the car to retrieve my metal detecting gear to begin the search. I first started scanning the lawn just in front of the house porch. This was the area where the dog roamed around and Lauren thought that maybe she had taken her phone out of her pocket at that moment which perhaps caused the engagement ring to pop out of her pajamas. This was not the only place that she could have taken out her phone, but it was the first place that she stood when she came out of the front door with the dog.

I knew exactly what numbers I was looking for on my detecting machine. I am very familiar with finding lost 14 karat white gold engagement rings. Her ring size was a tiny size 4, so therefore there was not a lot of metal to hunt for. Yet, I knew I could find it if it was still out there on the property.

When I concluded that the ring was not on the front lawn nearest to the porch, I moved my way along the concrete slab of the porch and checked under the bushes to see if maybe the ring had bounced over to the side where it could no longer be easily seen. I also looked around the section of the porch where Lauren had been working on a lovely furniture restoration project. However, there was still no sign of the precious “symbol of love”.

My last and final section of search area was located to the right of the driveway (if you are facing away from the house) where Lauren had walked as she headed to the mailbox with the dog. I was getting concerned that the ring had been lost in the house (knowing that I had such a little strip of grass remaining to check out). I asked myself ‘What would be the odds that I would find the ring right here in this little area where the grass was such a narrow strip and that the grass was not even very high enough to help conceal Lauren’s beautiful piece of jewelry from the human eye?’ Though I was wondering all of these things, I have learned as a ring finder that it’s very common to find the lost treasure even at the “11:59 position on the clock”!

I began to metal detect the last section of grass that was adjacent to the concrete driveway. Just as I got about half way down the narrow strip, I hit a really good signal. Immediately, I knelt down on the ground to investigate the potential target. Next, I took out my handheld detector from a side holster and checked out the spot where I was getting that particular signal on my machine. Just as the pinpointer device started beeping, my eyes zeroed in on a shiny object resting below the grass line, and there it was – Lauren’s beautiful diamond covered engagement ring! I found it! It was hiding right there in that little section of grass, perhaps less than six inches from the driveway! All at one time I felt such great elation and relief for Lauren and Jordon! At least one nightmare was finally over!

Once I secured the diamond ring by placing it deep inside one of my pockets, I requested for Lauren to come outside so I could do the ring reveal. Luckily, she brought her mother with her (she had recently flown into town to help take care of the couple’s child and assist in caring for Jordon while he was recovering from his injuries) so therefore I got to see both of their reactions when I surprised Lauren with the ring! The two of them burst into tears at the sight of that gorgeous 14 karat white gold band full of diamonds! It was a beautiful sight that I will never forget!

This search ended with many smiles and several hugs to go along with the celebratory words of thanks that I received! We also gave glory to the Lord who answered our prayer which we lifted up towards Heaven just prior to beginning the search. I could not have been more happy for Lauren and her family!  Even Jordan thanked me while he rested on his sofa in the living room just at the moment when I peeked in the front door to say goodbye to him! He really was encouraged by the outcome and it truly lifted his spirits while he was physically suffering.

As I drove away, I reflected on just how much I enjoy helping people like Lauren and Jordon find relief and restoration of happiness after experiencing adversities like the one Lauren and family had to so painfully endure! I so very much love what I do!

Men’s Tungsten Wedding Band Lost in the Driveway…FOUND Bessemer, Alabama!

  • from Huntsville (Alabama, United States)

On Tuesday afternoon (January 18th, 2022), I was driving on I-65 north traveling home to Huntsville, Alabama.  I had just finished a nice long weekend getaway at Panama City Beach, Florida.  I was visiting my parents at a condo they were renting and went metal detecting with my dad.

I was towards the end of my 6-hour trip back and had just passed the Birmingham area when I received a text message from Daniel.  I had my car read the message and discovered that Daniel had lost his Tungsten wedding band somewhere in his gravel driveway in Bessemer, AL.  Perfect timing!  I was literally 40 minutes from his location and had all of my metal detecting gear in my car.  Had I been in Huntsville, it would’ve added an extra hour to my travel time.  I immediately called Daniel, told him where I was, and asked if I could reroute to his location.  He said absolutely!  I got off at the next exit, back on I-65 (but now in the southbound lane), and was on my way to Bessemer!

I met Daniel at the end of his driveway.  I didn’t want to pull in too far depending on where he lost his wedding band.  Daniel had been working outside all morning.  He explained that his driveway floods a lot and he was adding gravel to stop some of the flow until a permanent fix could be put in.  He also cut up a tree.  He wore gloves the entire time and knew he had his ring on, because he felt it vibrating on his finger when he was running the chainsaw.  After finishing up that work, he took off his gloves while sitting in his truck.  He got out and soon after noticed that his wedding band was missing.  Daniel also mentioned that he recently lost a lot of weight, and the ring was fitting very loose.  Plus, it was cold outside and his hands were wet, so perfect scenario for a ring to slid off.

I started searching where Daniel was laying the gravel in his driveway.  I found a penny and some junk metal.  There were a couple of iffy signals in about 6-12 inches of water.  If necessary, I was going to come back at the very end of the search and check those targets with my sand scoop.  I moved to the next location where Daniel was cutting up the tree.  No ring.  I then asked to search Daniel’s gloves and truck, because taking off the gloves would’ve been the most likely time that his ring would’ve come off.  Still no ring.

I asked Daniel where he was parked when he took his gloves off and got out of his truck.  I thought his wedding band might have landed in his lap and then rolled onto the ground when he got out.  I started searching that area.  I checked one signal with my pinpointer, but the target was beneath the surface.  As I was standing up, I caught a glimpse of his silver Tungsten ring just a few inches away!  I think I uncovered it when I swung my coil and knocked away some wet grass and leaves.  I told Daniel that I had just spotted it.  He caught a glimpse as well and was overcome with joy and relief!  He was also very thankful for my assistance and quick response time.  I have to say that these recoveries never get old, and they are the most rewarding thing I’ve ever done!

Daniel showed me a video of how bad his driveway floods.  Based on that video, his ring could’ve easily washed away if it wasn’t found that day, making for an extremely difficult recovery.  But I just happened to be in the right place at the right time.  God is so good!  I thank and praise Him for another successful ring recovery and safe trip home!  I’m always happy to help and very blessed to be a member of The Ring Finders!  Looking forward to the next adventure…

Men’s Gold Pinky Ring Lost in the Front Yard…FOUND Harvest, Alabama!

  • from Huntsville (Alabama, United States)

Christina McCree – Ring Finder for North Alabama and surrounding areas…call or text ASAP, anytime 24/7…610-504-6135

On Sunday afternoon (December 5th, 2021), I received a call from a distraught Kathy regarding her son, Cain’s, lost gold ring.  The 14K yellow gold pinky ring was a cherished, early Christmas gift for Cain.  He was only wearing it for about 3-4 hours before it was lost.  Cain had stepped outside into the front yard and saw the ring on his finger.  It was loose fitting, so he thought that he should take it off until it could be resized.  Cain forgot about it and tossed 2 items in the yard, went inside the house, came back outside, and noticed that the ring was gone!  The family went out and bought a metal detector, but was unable to find the ring.  They came across The Ring Finders website while searching online for a detector.  They decided that contacting a Ring Finder would be their best option to find Cain’s missing gold ring.

This was actually my closest ring search.  They literally live less than 10 minutes from me.  I was onsite within 30 minutes from my call with Kathy.  I met with Cain, and he showed me the area he was standing and the motion he used to throw the 2 items.  The first toss was underhand, towards the street.  The second toss was sideways at Cain’s right side.  He was wearing the ring on his right pinky finger.  Cain didn’t see or feel the ring come off, but he thought it would’ve fallen off on the first toss towards the street.

I started my grid search in the direction of Cain’s first toss.  I then searched the direction of Cain’s second toss.  Next, I expanded my search across the street in the neighbor’s yard.  Then I searched the left side of the yard.  I was coming up empty handed and was very perplexed.  I had expanded my grid search 360 degrees and didn’t find Cain’s ring.  I even searched the yard a second time using a cross-grid just to be sure.  I was discussing all the possibilities with Cain and asking more questions to see if he had any other ideas of where his ring could have ended up.  Cain mentioned a signal he had on the metal detector he bought, but was never able to find out what it was.  It was over near a cane palm tree.  We went over and checked it out, but it turned out to be a false signal.

I then remembered the way Cain reenacted the second toss.  It was to his right side, but there was a slight chance that his ring went behind him and to the corner.  I did check the grass by the house in that direction, but I didn’t check the flower bed/shrub area.  It seemed very unlikely that his ring went that far and in that direction, but I’ve been doing this long enough to know that rings sometimes end up where they shouldn’t be.  I went over and started searching the flower bed.  Sure enough, I get a shallow gold tone.  I bend down to check the signal and there’s Cain’s gold ring!  It was lying next to a hose, just slightly covered up.  Cain was behind me and didn’t realize that I found his ring.  I called him over in a normal voice and asked, “hey, what’s this?”  Cain looks down to investigate and quickly realized that it was his ring!  Such a joyful moment and the exact reason why I do this!

I give so much praise and glory to God for this ring recovery!  This search had the potential to be a no find.  I’m so thankful that we searched that last possibility, even though his ring shouldn’t have been there.  It must’ve taken the perfect path or bounce through the shrub to land at that spot.  Another great reminder to check every spot possible no matter the odds.

I’m so happy that Cain has his treasured gold pinky ring back!  I’m very blessed to be a member of The Ring Finders!  I await my next mission…

Lost Family Heirloom Ring on Summers Farm in Frederick, Maryland…Found by Ring Finder

  • from Washington (District of Columbia, United States)

Kristen’s Beautiful Family Heirloom Topaz Diamond Ring Recovered by The Ring Finder’s Detectorist Brian Rudolph

Kristen and Nygel Smile Brilliantly as Grandma Dorothy’s Ring is Held Once Again by Her Beloved Granddaughter!

BRIAN RUDOLPH, LOST ITEM RECOVERY SPECIALIST (LAND, WATER, SAND, SNOW, LEAVES, HOUSES & VEHICLES) WILL FIND YOUR LOST KEEPSAKE! CALL ASAP (301) 466-8644!

Kristen and Nygel drove from Baltimore to Frederick Maryland looking forward to celebrating Oktoberfest out on a farm. In the six years that the couple had been dating, neither one of them encountered a situation quite like this one. Just moments after Nygel parked the vehicle on Summers Farm’s grass field, Kristen lost her very special yellow gold ring with a large blue topaz and two diamonds (one on each side of the center stone). The young lady inherited it from her late grandma Dorothy who passed away the previous year.

Luckily, Kristen knew the very moment when the ring slipped off of her index finger. Just after she got out of the vehicle and began adjusting her pants, Kristen felt the ring come off. However, when she looked down on the ground to recover the jewel, it was nowhere to be found. It was if the family heirloom disappeared into thin air.

Nygel came around the car to assist his girlfriend and for the next hour, the two of them searched for the missing ring. Unfortunately, none of their efforts proved to be successful. The couple decided to leave the grassy parking lot for the time being in order to make the most of their visit to Summers Farm and they decided to deal with any further search attempts following their special autumn excursion.

During Kristen and Nygel’s time out on the farm, they played in the cornfields, shot apples from the pumpkin canon and enjoyed eating all of the fun fall foods provided at the refreshment stands. Though the couple was quite entertained by all of the autumn festivities, the loss of Grandma Dorothy’s ring weighed heavily upon Kristen’s heart and mind.

Once Kristen and Nygel got back to their vehicle, the two of them searched for another hour with no happy results. They realized that they would have to return to the farm the following day with a metal detector in hand in order to try again to recover the gold topaz diamond ring. It made Kristen sick to her stomach to have to leave her precious keepsake behind until the next day. She couldn’t even be so confident that the ring was still there in the grass. It could have already been spotted and picked up by someone else. Nonetheless, the two hoped for the best and planned to return the next morning.

Later that night, Kristen and her boyfriend searched online with the purpose in mind to find a metal detector rental service. Instead of locating a rental shop, THE RING FINDERS website popped up on the screen. They had never heard of the international directory of metal detectorists who specialize in finding lost rings and other precious keepsakes. They figured instead of trying to learn a detecting device that they knew nothing about (and with no guarantee that the detector would even help them find what was lost), they decided to seek out the professional help of one of the directory’s ring finder in the local Frederick, Maryland area. This is where I come into the story.

Kristen contacted me immediately and I asked the distraught young lady every question regarding her particular situation. She did a great job of painting a clear picture as to what happened and what the environment was like where the ring was lost. Because I am familiar with Summers Farm, I knew that it was essential for us to meet at the farm as early as possible before the grass and dirt-covered parking lot would start to fill up with cars and trucks. I received the initial text from Kristen sometime around eight in the morning and by 9:30 a.m. I was already pulling into the farm’s entrance and meeting up with my new clients.

The day was quite lovely outside and I remember encountering special feelings that rushed through my mind as I reminisced about the days of old when my family and I visited Summers during the Oktoberfest time of year. It brought me so much happiness to experience such a sentimental journey in returning once again to the same farm in order to help Kristen with this very important search.

Just as I was driving up the hill to the parking lot section where the couple directed me to meet them, I began to light up with the greatest smile ever due to what I witnessed in front of me. The couple was sitting in two chairs that were facing each other, separated by approximately 30 feet of grass between the two of them. They were guarding the search site, making certain that nobody would be able to park in the area where they believed the ring was lost the day before! I was very impressed! Also, I learned that Kristen and Nygel were sharp enough to think of tying some markers around the place where their vehicle was parked the day before so that they would know exactly where to resume the search the following day! That was brilliant thinking on their part! I commended both of them for taking that step to bring clarity as to where the ring was originally lost. The couple told me that they were doubly convinced that there was no way that they would find the ring after they searched for another 30 minutes while waiting for my arrival. They were so happy that I was willing to come to their rescue!

Once I got all of the details regarding where the couple believed they were parked and approximately where Kristen was standing when the ring fell off her finger, I returned to my vehicle to retrieve my metal detector and other gear to help me with this particular search. Methodically and consistently, I swung my detector’s coil from left to right as I moved straight ahead towards the end of the first grid lane before turning around and beginning with the second grid line. I knew exactly the type of numbers and sounds that I was looking for on my machine and I had all the confidence in the world that if the ring was still there, I would eventually find it!

After I completed searching several more grid passes, I eventually hit a target signal that I was quite certain that it would end up being Kristen’s ring. To my excitement and joy, the target that I knelt down to investigate with my handheld detector did in fact turn out to be Kristen’s grandmother’s ring! My eyes beheld an exquisite yellow gold band with a beautiful blue topaz and two diamonds flanking the large stone! The pretty jewel was hiding under some blades of grass that were bundled together and camouflaged amongst the dirt and wild plant life! I was so relieved that not only was the ring still there and that nobody found it, but also I was thrilled to discover that there was no damage to the family heirloom had a couple of radial tires trampled over it!

What a fun moment it was for me to recover such a priceless “symbol of love” that was handed down to Dorothy’s beloved granddaughter a year earlier! I will never forget the tears that began to flow from the young lady’s eyes and the smile that I could see on Nygel’s face (even though his countenance was mostly covered by a face-mask) as I presented the keepsake back to its rightful owner! It’s precious moments like these that constantly remind me why I love serving people in this way…recovering “lost stories” and returning smiles to people’s faces like Kristen’s!

Before I left the farm, the three of us thanked the Lord for answering our prayer that we jointly offered up to God prior to starting the search! Kristen and Nygel thanked me several more times for helping them recover the ring. In addition, we all agreed that though this problem occurred (which was quite stressful for the two of them to go through), at least it brought us all together and also we were at least surrounded by God’s beautiful creation out on Summers Farm’s property while conducting the search that morning! Lastly, with a giant smile on my face, I told Kristen and Nygel that I hoped that their next ring story would be a happy one – perhaps something to do with Nygel placing an additional band (engagement ring) on Kristen’s finger sometime in the near future! I can’t wait to hear that special news one day!
