Lost Wedding Ring Set .. Paradise Cove, Malibu, CA. .. Recovered

  • from Newport Beach (California, United States)

Fernanda had been at Paradise Cove Sunday with a bunch of friends and their kids. They had reserved a couple lounge chairs with umbrellas for the day. It was a beautiful day with friends to have a beach party. That evening at home Fernanda realized that her wedding ring set was not on her finger. Missing was a Platinum Diamond solitaire engagement ring and a White Gold with 10 small diamonds and she had not remembered taking them off or doing anything to cause them slip off her finger.

She searched the house and the car without succcess. Monday Fernanda and her husband, Julio drove back to the beach to search through the sand for the rings. Tuesday they located a guy with a detector to search the same area, but he was only able to search a short time late in the evening before he had to leave without finding the rings. He suggested that they call me.

When I got the call it sounded like a long shot, because she had been many places Sunday before she realized her rings were gone. On top of that, someone had tried searching the beach area with a metal detector. It was a 75 mile drive but I felt it would be worth the drive to see if the beach area had more possibilities for searching again with my metal detectors.

Fernanda and Julio met me at noon Wednesday. I had a feeling that she had hope that I could find the rings. On the other hand Julio seemed skeptical that the rings were here at the beach. After a quick run down on where Fernanda had been the day of the loss, I started to grid in front of the lounge chairs. My plan was to move the chairs forward after clearing the area. Then swung my XP Deus metal detector between and under the second set of chairs. Boom! The first ring, then a second swing Boom! The second ring in the scoop.

Both Fernanda and Julio had walked down to the water’s edge to give me a little space while I searched. I caught Fernanda’s eyes first and she ran up to me to see the prize in my scoop. Then came Julio who told me I made a believer out him because all the time he thought he was wasting his time. It as an exciting moment for all. It’s not hard to understand that it seemed impossible that we would find the rings when she had not remembered taking them off or doing anything to cause them slip from her finger. It paid off to try one more time.

Lost Wedding Ring. In The County Of Ponoka. Hoadley, Alberta Canada

I received a call from Brandon last week asking me if I could find his white gold wedding ring in three feet tall grass. He had lost it while out scouting for a good hunting spot in the bush.  I told him if it was there I would find it.

We agreed to meet this morning and drove out to the spot out in the country, as we drove and got talking Brandon told me it was imperative that the ring was found as he had just been married a month ago.

I asked Brandon how he lost his ring he told me he was brushing the grass off his pants near his jeep when he felt the ring fly off his finger but he had no idea of the direction. For me it was a good clue and with past experience I knew the ring had to be close by.

When we arrived at the location Brandon said the whole terrain had changed stating that the grass was standing at the time he lost the ring, and now all the grass was laying down like a strong wind had blown the grass down or animals had trampled it down.  This made the search a little harder.

After about two hours of searching I heard a fantastic sound in my headphone.  There was his ring well hidden in the grass about ten feet from his Jeep.  I called Brandon over and the expression on his face said it all.  He could not believe his eyes. He was very happy to have his ring back on his finger.

Another happy client.

Thank you Brandon for calling me.

Platinum Diamond Stud Ear Ring Lost For One Year… Found in Pea Gravel with Metal Detector

  • from Newport Beach (California, United States)

I received a call from Connie in Los Angeles, she told me that her mother in law, Priscella had misplaced a set of platinum/ diamond stud earrings almost a year ago. They were a gift for a special occasion over ten years ago and very sentimental to Priscella. After all the time that has past they had believed these ear rings were gone forever.

Fast forward ten months, Connie was visiting Priscilla and while sitting in a patio area Connie spotted the glimmer in the pea gravel that turned out to be one of the ear rings. They spent some time searching through the gravel for the other stud ear ring but not quite sure that the pair had been lost in the same location. To make things worse, the house had been sold. They would be leaving the property in two weeks.

After hearing the story I told her we had to give it a try. After all it wasn’t like she was sure both studs had been dropped in the same location.  I was available to meet her the next day.  Connie said, she would have the time to be there with the matching stud the next day at noon.

When I arrived we walked to the patio area where I set up my XP Deus metal detector with a hi frequency coil set at 74 KHz. The ladies went inside to take care of something. I began to search for « the needle in a haystack ». I immediately found two small pieces of wire, then Boom! One small platinum/ diamond stud ear ring that had been hiding for almost a year, looking at me from 2″or 3  » in the gravel.

I was at the table taking photos of the prize when Connie walked up behind me asking « What’s the best thing you have ever found » .. My answer was .. A diamond stud ear ring as I pointed to the esr ring
on the table. Hugs and excitement from both Priscella and Connie. They had not built up their hopes of finding the matching ear ring so finding it was an awesome surprise.

I won’t get to see Priscella’s husband when she surprises him this evening by just wearing them at the dinner table. It was another special search and recovery. Also a pleasure to meet and help such nice people.

Lost Key Fob in Sand .. Huntington Beach, CA. .. Found

  • from Newport Beach (California, United States)

During the month of August thay have a country music festival on the sand at Huntington State Beach. That night during the event, Daniel lost his car key fob in the sand. He returned the next morning driving more than 50 miles in hope of finding his keys.

After attaining permission from the supervisor dismantling the structures Daniel began to shuffle though the sand hoping to see his key fob. The supervisor saw how frustrated Daniel was and gave Daniel my information. I was able to meet Daniel soon after he called me as it was only a 6 mile drive.

The tractors and forklifts were courteous enough to give us space to work. After digging a couple dozen aluminum beer cans the keys showed up in my scoop. It did take about an hour because Daniel was a little confused about where he was the night before.

Daniel and his friend thanked me and told me they were beginning to feel that their long drive was going to be a waste of time. It was a good search. I always find the item I’m looking for in the last place I look.😎

Engagement Ring Dropped in Sand while Proposing .. Hermosa Beach, CA. .. Found and Returned

  • from Newport Beach (California, United States)

I got a late call from Damir asking me for help. He had just proposed to his fiancé, Ellie on the sand in Hermosa Beach. In the excitement of the moment Ellie dropped the diamond engagement ring in the sand.
Dry sand is unforgiving and will hide a ring from searching fingers forever. I did not waste time discussing anymore on the phone. Just asked them to text me the address and I’d be there within 45 minutes. I also told them not to worry. If they can get me on the general spot, we could find the ring.

When I arrived at 14th Street in Hermosa Beach I could see a police car on the beach with Damir and Ellie standing there in the cold breezy night air. I introduced my self, looked at the 20 x 20′ area. I decided to start the grid diagonally, just because? Straight line to the opposite corner, BAM! Diamond Engagement ring in the scoop. Everybody was amazed, the police officer had a look that I’ll never forget. Similar to the look people give when somebody does a magic trick. It was cold so we all took a few quick photos and headed home. It was almost midnight and everyone concerned will sleep good this night.

Lost wedding ring, Apopka, Florida……Found!

  • from Sanford (Florida, United States)

Scott was playing with a football in the pool with his son and some friends and as they finished up he noticed his wedding ring, of 12 years, was not on his finger. So he immediately started searching in the pool thinking that was the most likely place where it probably slipped off while he was swimming. Scott is a certified diver and had no trouble checking all the corners and crevices where his ring could have been hiding–but he came up empty handed. That led him and his friends to search the deck area around the pool and along the fence surrounding the deck. And still no ring. Along the outside of the fence was a row of 5 foot hedge type bushes that gave the pool area some privacy and it was very likely that the lost ring could be hiding either in the bushes themselves or at the base of one of them. Scott and his friends spent a few more hours searching those areas and still could not seem to find his lost ring. The next day they packed up and headed home to the Tampa area and Scott was not happy to be leaving his wedding ring behind. He kept thinking that there had to be a way to find his ring, and that thought led him to search on Google « What do I do when I lose my ring? » and up came one of theringfinders.com stories. So Scott called me and explained what all happened and described the pool area quite well. I asked him to contact the Holiday Inn Express manager and ask for permission to conduct a thorough search of the pool area.
When I arrived later that day the skies were cloudy and rain was threatening. It turned out to be a very tough search and took me 5 hours to finally find Scott’s lost ring. Thankfully the hotel manager left the pool lights on and Scott’s ring had landed in the grass at the far end of the pool on the other side of the hedges!
Thanks Scott for calling me and it was an honor to help you get your lost ring back to you.

Lost Wedding Ring .. Dana Point, CA. .. Found

  • from Newport Beach (California, United States)

Janene called me asking me if I could help her find her diamond wedding ring. She had a stressful day and the last time she saw her ring was when she parked her car down the street from her home. She didn’t realize the ring was missing until the next day. Somewhere between where she parked her car or possibly in the house she believed her ring was lost. I agreed to come to her place explaining that I could help her eliminate the outside areas but my large detector probably would be of no use inside the house. Nevertheless we could check the trash and other places that could conceal a ring with my pinpointer (handheld detector)
After doing the front lawns and landscaped areas outside we went through two big bags of trash with no results, we went into the house starting in the bedroom. I began by checking a shag rug. I had asked Janene what she might have been doing the evening of her loss. She folded and put laundry in her drawers. This is the kind of action that may lead to the loss of her ring. Or there have been other times when I’ve heard that a ring lying on a counter got knocked into a open drawer.
Sure enough the beautiful white gold diamond wedding ring was in the drawer with the clean clothes. A very happy lady that gave me credit for staying positive and pushing her to check the drawers.

Wedding Ring Lost Playing Volleyball .. Santa Monica, CA. .. Recovered

  • from Newport Beach (California, United States)

It was about 6:30pm when a lady named Esmot called me from Santa Monica asking my help to find her husband’s wedding band. He had lost it in the sand while playing volleyball.
I met them an hour later where the loss occurred. Esmot and her husband Salmon showed me the area where he had felt the ring come off his finger. I backed off about 10 feet to get a few practice swings in before getting serious. Immediately there was a signal. I went to grab my sand scoop to checkout the signal. The sand scoop was still in my car just a short distance from the search location. I almost tried to retrieve the target by hand but I didn’t want to look stupid, a ring can just keep slipping through your fingers in the sand.
Handing my detector for Esmot to hold while I retrieved my sand scoop from my car. On my walk back to the volleyball court, they came walking towards me with big smiles. They had found it using my metal detector. Esmot got curious while holding the detector, so she swung it over the spot where I had a signal. She put her hand in the sand finding the ring right away. Very lucky for her, ask anybody that has spent hours searching sand with their fingers.
They were very happy as newlyweds that have only had the matching rings for 4 months. We took a few minutes to take a few photos then the took of to meet their friends for dinner.

Lost Ring at Beach Tot Lot .. Balboa Pier, CA. .. Found

  • from Newport Beach (California, United States)

Keyvan called me after losing his custom designed wedding band. He felt it come off his finger while pushing his daughter on the swings at the beach. After a frustrating hour of searching the sand his wife had Google searched metal detector where my name came up on TheRingFinders.com.
The loss occurred at a beach playground area near the Balboa Beach pier which is only a couple miles from my home. There was some traffic problems but I was able to get there in about 20 minutes. It was an easy search and we had the ring back on Keyvan’s finger a few minutes after arriving.
When I arrived there was a audience of more than a dozen people that had heard that a guy with a metal detector was coming to find the ring. After scooping up the ring on my first pass there was applause and congratulations from the crowd. I felt like a rock star after finding the ring.
It was starting to get cold and dark when I rushed to get photos so they could home. Sorry the photos didn’t focus well.

Angry Wife Throws Three Rings .. Orange County, CA. .. Found 24 Hours Later

  • from Newport Beach (California, United States)

I spent the afternoon doing a water search at low tide. I do not carry my celphone in chest deep water. When I returned to my car I found a voicemail on my phone from Jane Doe. She was very upset asking for my help finding three rings lost while taking an evening walk near her home.
When I called she said they had found two of the rings after searching all day but the third ring was still missing. If it was possible she could still use my help. I agreed to drive to South Orange County because we still had a couple hours of sunlight.
When I arrived Jane met me at the security gate of the gated community. We drove to a corner a couple blocks from her house. That’s where she got honest with me, telling me that she was angry and actually threw the three rings. I assured her this was more common than people know. It does help the search to understand what really happened.
Jane showed me where she was when she threw the rings. They had purchased a metal detector but had no success using it. The two rings they found were found about 30 feet away and in plain site. One on the sidewalk and the other in wood chip garden. I searched the most likely grass and wood chip garden. As I was beginning to search the difficult heavy bushes and rose garden, I asked Jane to double check the street because it was begging to get dark. Ten minutes later I heard her yell out, I found it.
It had been 30ft from the other rings more than 60 ft. from where she had been standing. It must have landed just right to roll that far. If you look at the ring you can see that the design would allow it to roll on a hard surface.
I didn’t find the ring but Jane gave me credit for having her double check the street where her ring had been lying in plain sight for more than 20 hours.
