Lost diamond engagement ring in the grass in Ocoee, Florida…Found and happily returned to owner!
How does an engagement ring end up in the thick grass? There are literally dozens of ways that rings can get lost in someones yard and on this occasion Annie and her husband had just pulled up into their drive way and were getting out of their car when Annie’s hands were feeling a bit swollen due to the summer humidity. She wanted to remove her rings before going inside and she tried pulling her rings off and all of a sudden they both just popped off and went flying into the grass. Here is a short text from her husband of that shocking experience. « My wife dropped her wedding band and engagement ring in our yard. We found the wedding band but not the engagement ring. We bought a metal detector and spent a whole day searching with no luck. We were stressed and anxious. I texted Mike and he made time to come see us the very next day. He was very professional and kind. I showed him the area and he found it in less than 5 minutes! Don’t waste your time and money on a metal detector when you can ask Mike! Actually feeling your rings come off and knowing the exact area where they landed is a huge help in trying to find and recover your lost rings. It was an honor to help Huy and his dear wife and I thank God for giving me the privilege to help them and anyone else who asks for my help! I do not find every ring that I am asked to look for but I always try my very best and assure people to never give up hope!

I was just leaving the Bass Pro shop on Tuesday morning when I got an email from Kian who had just lost his palladium wedding ring the night before in the grass in front of his house while playing catch with his young daughter . His house was actually on may way home , so Kian gave me directions and the gate code and i was there in less than fifteen minutes. I searched in the area that Kian said he lost the ring about twenty five minutes with no luck. He was stuck at work in down town LA so he couldn’t meet me there , when we spoke on the phone before I called it quits to go home and retrieve another metal detector that I was more familiar with. He gave me more details which helped me narrow down the search area , after thirty minutes under my belt using my new machine I got a solid signal and there under the grass was Kian ring . After texting him the pictures he was amazed to see his ring again . He had me meet his wife at work to returned the ring , she was as happy as could be and graciously thank me. Its always a pleasure to reunite such nice people with their sentimental jewelry.
Daytona Beach, Florida is a great place to enjoy the Atlantic Ocean. There are miles and miles of beaches, more sand than one can imagine and refreshing, warm salty water to play and swim in until your heart is very content! Unless of course you happen to lose your wedding ring. And that is exactly what happened to Bart on August 18th, 2018 while playing catch with a football in knee deep water with his young son. They immediately stopped playing and scoured the sandy bottom, desperate to find his lost ring. Unfortunately his ring had simply vanished.
Today Derek wrote, « My wedding ring slipped off my finger in my friends backyard. 15 people were on their hands and knees but couldn’t find it in the grass. I called Mike up and he was super friendly and confident he could find my ring. He showed up on time and was just as nice as on the phone. We talked a bit and then he went about searching. He used flags to create a grid and methodically scanned the yard. After about an hour of searching he called me over. My wedding band was pushed into the dirt and I never would have found it. Sunday evening Morgan was on her back porch and threw a ball out the door and into the yard for her dog to fetch. But not all dogs have learned the fine art of fetch and retrieve. As is the case with Morgan’s dog! So Morgan and her young son ran out to help demonstrate the skill of fetching a ball when thrown. They played with the dog for awhile in the yard and then retreated inside to the cool air conditioning. An hour or so passed before Morgan noticed that her diamond engagement ring and her wedding ring were not on her finger, where she has worn them for the last 7 years! A bit of panic set in and she began thinking of where they could be and remembered throwing the ball for her dog and being as she throws with her left hand, it made sense that her rings could very easily have slipped off at that time. And sure enough there in the yard, close to where the ball had landed, she found her diamond engagement ring in the grass. So she continued looking for her wedding ring but could not seem to find it. As she contemplated what to do next, Morgan thought about buying or renting a metal detector and decided to purchase a cheap detector at the local sporting goods store. On her way to the store she remembered seeing theringfinders.com web site and thought of giving me a call to see if I could help her. I assured Morgan that there was a very good chance of finding her lost wedding ring and we made arrangements to meet the next day. It was interesting that Morgan thought she had not thrown the ball very hard, maybe 10 to 15 feet, as the ball only landed a short distance from the back door and her diamond engagement ring was found very close. So I searched high and low, in the bushes, under the bushes and rechecked all signals carefully to be sure a large deep signal was not masking her ring…but I could not find it! An hour passed and Morgan’s husband came out to see how I was progressing and he offered to trim two sago palms that were at least 30 feet from the back door. It was an excellent idea, because there at the base of the first prickly sago plant, down in the leaves was Morgan’s beautiful lost wedding ring! It was a tear jerking moment for all of us when we showed Morgan her ring and even her little son kept saying, « Mommy is crying! » And we all assured him those were tears of JOY! Lost your ring?
