Metal Detecting Spanish Banks/Volley Ball Court Gold

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

I just got home from a four hour water search in a lake in Maple Ridge where I found a lost wedding band for a young man.
I didn’t have breakfast so I made some lunch and fell a sleep soon after.

A few hours later a wake up to a phone call from a man named Scott who lost his wedding band at the volleyball court at Spanish Banks Beach. He got my number from the life guards, I listened to his story and felt it would take no time to find the ring as he had a small area for me to search because he saw the ring fly off his finger into the sand.

I jumped into my car and headed out, I met Scott and he showed me the area and no sooner did I turn on my metal detector… I found his ring!

Scott told me the story about how his mother gave him her fathers wedding band that was sitting in a drawer for 50 plus years… What a sad story but a happy ending!

Golf Course Gold/South Vancouver/Lost… Gold Wedding Band… Reward!!!!

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

Today I received an email from a young man who lost his wedding band at Fraser View Golf Course in South Vancouver…Here is his email…
I lost my gold wedding band on Aug 18th at Fraser View Golf course. I am sure that I had it because I was late and still wearing it on the first tee…. my mistake, I never wear it when I play and normally keep it in my car. After the round, I could not find my ring. it is a basic gold band with my wedding date engraved in it (08-31-2003). As you can see my wedding anniversary is coming up and the ring means a lot to me.
I am hoping you can help, in fact I can come out with you to retrace
my steps.

thanks again,

Will

Well we retraced his tracks and eliminated the most likely possibilities and our thoughts are that it could be any where from the first tee to the last. Its a needle in a golf course sorta speak but there is a chance that someone can find it during their walk around the course.

Will is offering a reward if you find it and it means a lot to him, so please keep an eye out for the ring.

It was nice meeting you Will and don’t give up hope as there are lots of great people out there that might find and return your ring!

Thanks so much for the gift certificates to the Cannery! Very kind of you!!

I love my job!

Lost Diamond Earring/Spanish Banks/$200 Reward

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

I received a call to find a lost diamond earring this morning and the lady told me it had been lost for over 3 weeks at a dog beach in Vancouver, Spanish Banks. She went into the Ocean to cool down and she felt the earring come off…

Her and her husband came back the next day and searched for hours but no luck, I also had no luck as earrings are the single hardest piece of jewellery to find as there is so little gold on the post. If this was lost in a back yard I’d have a great chance in locating he earring.

The time frame would have something to do with it but most detectors will not get a signal on a solitaire diamond earring… Very little weight which would mean that it could have moved down the beach with the tide over the last 3 weeks.

It’s a half karat Diamond Earring exactly like the one in the picture above…$200 Reward if you find and return it to Liz… Contact me and I will put you in touch with the owner who would be extremely thankful to have it back!

I will go back a do a grid search of the area just encase I might get lucky!

Can’t find them all…I love my job!

Metal Detecting Surrey BC for a lost Silver Bracelet

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

I received an email a few days ago in regards to a lost silver bracelet possibly in a pile of grass in this ladies neighbors backyard.
She was about to rent a metal detector and found me under MetalDetectorRental.ca and called to see if I could help her.

I listened to her story and by the sounds of it she wasn’t sure when the bracelet came off, maybe when she was cutting her neighbors lawn.

She recalls that she took the bag of grass that she cut to her neighbors back yard and dumped it on the compost.
When she realized that the bracelet was lost she immediately went back to where she dumped the grass and her and her husband searched but couldn’t find it.

This was a one of a kind bracelet and it meant the world to her! She desperately wanted to find it. After 25 minutes and digging out the newer weeds to get to the grass that she put there a week before I suddenly got a good signal…It was her bracelet!

Metal Detecting for a lost gold wedding band on Crescent Beach/South Surrey

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

I received a call while I was at work, this young man told me the story about how his wife’s wedding band fell off her finger and into the ocean where they were standing. He said that they searched for 3 hours in knee deep water but had no luck in finding the ring.

The night before I was out searching for a young man’s wedding band at 12 AM and I was a little tired as I just switched to nights for work that day.

I listened to his story and I needed to check the tide chart on my Iphone to see when the next low tide was so I told him I’d call him back.

The next low tide was at 7:59 AM…I would be working to 4:30 AM that morning so I had to decide if I could make it out there…I figured I could drive out there after work and get a few hours of sleep then meet him and find his wife’s wedding band and get a few more hours sleep to wait out the morning rush hour, then go home and get a few more hours of sleep then go to work.

I called him back and we were to meet at 7AM that morning for the search. I drove out to the Crescent Beach area and slept in my car for a bit then at 7AM I met Mohumad.

Mohumad explained what happened that day and that he was sure of the area the ring was lost in, which helps a lot when your searching for something so small. He drove and I followed him to the beach, when we got there the tide was out and Mohumad showed me where he thought the ring would be.

He walked to the top of the beach where there was a big patch of seaweed and walked out towards the water and stopped and said this is the area here!

I started my search and within 20 seconds or so I found the ring! It helps so much when a person doesn’t panic and makes a mental note of the area the ring was lost in because it gives me a great chance to find the ring the next day. I had a similar search at a beach years back and it took me close to 3 hours to locate the lost ring. This was because the person didn’t make a note of the area but just pointed and said out there some where…Thanks Mohumad, it was great meeting you and I’m glad your wife has her ring back!

I love my job!

The Ring of Love! Spanish Banks Beach in Vancouver

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

I just finished my search at 3rd beach where I found a wedding band for a gentleman and my phone rings. It’s a British fellow who lost his ring at Spanish Banks Beach. We talked for a minute and I headed out there to help him find his ring.
We met at the beach and he shows me the area he thought the ring was lost then tells me that he and his girlfriend got each other rings and put them on each others fingers as a promise to get married when they get back home to Europe.

I can tell how much the ring meant to him and how much he loved his girlfriend. I started my search around the volleyball court and I found 2 toonies and a few pull tabs. I ask the people playing volleyball if I could search the one area that Graham was playing in the day before, and they said sure…(Thanks for that!)

I waited till the game was over and began my search. Nothing! I asked Graham if he was sure that the court was in the exact position as the day before and he said it was, just then one of the players told us that the court was moved to the left by almost half the width.

This was great news because it gave us hope that we could still find the ring…minutes later it was found! The excitement on your face truly made me believe that this was the Ring of Love!

I’m so happy I could help you out and I wish your lady a lifetime of happiness!

I love my job!

Lost Gold Ring at English Bay Beach in Vancouver

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

It’s Saturday around 5 pm and I just made my wife and I dinner, I’m about to dig in and my phone rings…Lost ring at English Bay Beach in Vancouver… I ask a few question and take a few bites of my meal and I’m on my way to the beach to see if I can find this young mans diamond pinky ring.
I meet a group of young men and one young lady and they tell me how they were playing volleyball and how when he was diving for the ball he felt his ring come off and some of his friends thought they saw something hit the sand…

The young man tells me how special the ring is to him and how it was given to him by his parents and he was the first brother to receive such a gift. I could tell how much it meant to him and how devastated he was by loosing it.

We discuss the area he thought it was lost in and I started my search, close to 30 minutes and no ring…? I sat down a we talked some more about where the ring could have gone and he said he was hitting the ball hard and thought maybe it went further out from my grid…He was right! I extended my grid search and found his ring!

He was speechless when I asked him if this was his ring, and held it up for him to see.

I love my job!
